I’m the Queen of planners, schedules, and to-do lists. But one thing that’s never been on any of them is falling for my boss’s off-limits brother…
I’m finally this close to my dream promotion.
But there’s one last hoop my billionaire boss expects me to jump through—I have to save his brother’s nonprofit from disaster.
Elliot Dashwood is our building’s resident tech genius. He’s hilarious, considerate, and adorable…in a nerdy kind of way.
But, being a rule-follower, I always avert my eyes from the way his suit pants hug his thighs when he perches on my desk, from the sexy way he pushes his glasses up his nose, and from those glorious forearms when he rolls up his sleeves.
That is, until that night.
When I get sick at work and Elliot carries me home and takes care of me, I realize just how quickly I could fall for this unique man—the man who can quote lines from movies while coding computer programs with one hand and watering his plant collection with the other.
Too bad my boss has a strict no-fraternization policy.
So now, not only do I have to save the nonprofit to earn my promotion, I have to do it while fighting my forbidden attraction. And all while on a business trip with the off-limits object of my desire–where there’s only one bed available.
How am I supposed to survive that?
All I know for sure is that I might have all the planners in the world, but nothing could ever have prepared me for Elliot Dashwood.
That Geeky Feeling is an off-limits office rom-com in the Dashwood Billionaires series of laugh-out-loud standalones. It features a tech almost-billionaire with a fear of public speaking, a super-organized assistant with a pastel-colored planner addiction, an overbearing boss who holds her career to ransom, and, yeah, that whole one bed thing…
Nicky Redford writes bladder-threateningly funny rom-coms with all the steam and all the feels.
She loves heroes who think they know what they want (they’re wrong, obviously), the feisty, independent, heroines who don’t take their crap, and the sparky banter that inevitably ensues.
Her idol is Nora Ephron, and if anyone tries to say When Harry Met Sally is not the greatest film ever made they’ll be treated to a very detailed explanation as to why they are wrong.
Nicky aims to bring you page-turning raunchy rom-coms that brighten your day, put a smile on your face, and make you need to sit on an ice pack.
Finally, we have Elliot’s story, and finally, my boy gets his happy ending. Charlotte doesn’t lag behind either because I loved her.
This story was beautiful. Honestly, Nicky takes great care to make his stories fun, romantic, and seamless. And this one, which is about the Dashwood brother I was most eager to read, did not disappoint. I enjoyed the story of this pair. From previous books, we knew that Elliot had a crush on her, but due to his brother Max’s policies (yes, his brother who owns the building where he has his company), since she is his assistant, he couldn’t do anything. Besides, she had a boyfriend. I wanted to see how Nicky would handle this relationship without breaking the bond with Max (there’s more history there), and I think she did it well (although Max annoyed me for half of the book; let’s just say he eventually came around). Was it slow? Let’s say yes and no. I liked that they took their time and realized they truly cared for each other, although, let’s be honest, Elliot had already fallen hard.
Charlotte seemed me as a protagonist who fights for what she wants. She’s tired of doing everything for others, and here she is to prove that she’s worth her weight in gold (and she demonstrates it).
While there’s some drama almost at the end, it’s resolved in a very tender way. Yes, tender, but you’ll have to read this book to know what I’m talking about. A story that you can’t put down, it hooked me from the beginning, and I can’t wait to read the last book in this series, even if it makes me a little sad.
📌 I received an e-arc, and this is my honest opinion/review of it.
---
I got an ARC copy of this book to write an honest review.
Elliot and Charlotte's story was one I was so very excited to read. Since Charlotte started to work for Max, Elliot had a crush on her. But after the "Connor thing" the Dashwoods have this special subclause in their "Dashwood pact". No mixing work with family... So, Charlotte is off-limits for Elliot. Elliot is so cute. Honestly, Charlotte has been working for 4 years for Max now. And all the time Elliot is in love with her 🥰 The chemistry between Elliot and Charlotte is sooo huge. And then there is Max... 🤬 You would think he would be nicer since he is so in love with Polly. But he shows his FULL A§§HOLE character again... 🤬 I don't know if I ever loved to read about someone puking 🙈 But Nicky wrote such a wonderful scene and it was so romantic. God, that sounds really creepy... 🤣 But if you read it, you will understand it. Elliot is just soooo wonderful how much he cares about Charlotte. And he is so sensitive. And Charlotte? She sacrifices herself for everyone she loves but especially her two brothers. I won't say more, because this is also a very intense scene 🥹 One more thing, forearms play a huge role in this book 😎 There's so much happening in this book...
I loved that we met all the characters again because of the special celebration... Even Elsa 🐶
Now it's time to wait again for Tom's story, the last of the Dashwoods... 🙈
I officially have a new favorite Dashwood brother.
Elliot Dashwood is a sweethearrt beyond measure and has such a kind soul. I adored him from the start. I could not get enough of him and his delicious forearms. The social anxiety he has toward public speeches emphasizes his geekiness (and the title of the book). He and Charlotte are perfect for each other. He cared for her during and after a vomiting fiasco, and it was SO SO cute. Who would have thought that bad dumplings would bring them together? Elliot's love for Back To The Future and knowledge of computers matches Charlotte's love for planners and organization SO nicely. Charlotte Lipton has always come second all her entire life but NEVER with Elliot. He admires her hardwork and determination. (even after she choose her dream job after years of hardwork).
The title of the book fit the content of it amazingly. NR never fails to write a fantasticly hilarious read AND this time, she even added a bit of suspense.
I reccomed this book if you love the following Tropes: - Friends To Lovers - Forbidden Office Romance - Cinnamon Roll MMC - One Bed - Boss's Younger Brother'
Loved it so much! All of her books have just been fantastic . Elliot is such a sweet man. You can’t help. It love these two main characters . Love seeing Max get humbled as well 🤣 her books are ones I’ll be recommending to any romance lover
And Nicky has gone it again! I feel like I’ve said this with every book in this series, but this is the best one so far. I love me a geeky MMC so I have been so excited for Elliot’s story after seeing glimpses of him in each book of this series🫠 Charlotte is a great FMC who is very independent and focused on her career goals; she’s got a good sense of humour and just fits Elliot so well and he pined for her for 4 YEARS, 4 YEARS🤣🫠
The romantic gestures in this book were amazing, I have one word- PowerPoint 🤣 that’s all that needs to be said about that😍🥹 I’m so glad they both got their HEA.
Nicky’s humour is unmatched, a Nicky Redford book has never failed to make me laugh out loud and this one is no different, the parts about the forearms and the sickness incident was so funny and unhinged to me🤣 I love it
The glimpses of other characters in this book was also amazing; Owen and Summers wedding (the first part🫠). The trip to the brewery including Charlottes brothers🫶🏻🫠 so cute. The bits of Max we saw in this book made me dislike him again (if you saw my review for that conflicted feeling you would know I disliked him in that stranded feeling, however he redeemed himself) but then again in this book, he redeemed himself again… he gives me whiplash!!
I cannot wait for Toms story I love me a single parent romance…
And can we talk about the new illustrated covers 😍🫠 I love them so so much they’re beautiful!
Congrats on an another amazing book Nicky cannot believe this series is nearly over! Thank you for the ARC❤️
I recommend this book if you love:
💻 co workers to lovers 🛏️ only one bed ❤️ pining mmc 🥹 cares for her when sick
I received this book as an ARC, but I am voluntarily leaving a review 😀
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Finally, finally Elliot gets his HEA! I’ve been watching him pine after Charlotte for about… 3 books? So it is only fair that in this one he gets his chance with her. And trust me when I tell you, he might be shy and quiet and nerdy, but when he knows what he wants he goes for it 💪
Charlotte is a very organised and goal-oriented person, when it comes to her career. Personally, however, she believes she doesn’t deserve to be happy. Which is why I sometimes itched to strangle her for hurting my boy Elliot. I admit I kind of wanted a bit of a different climax, but I understand why Nicky chose to resolve it this way. Charlotte is very similar to Emily to me in the sense that I also wanted to bite her head off once or twice. I’m very protective of my cinnamon boys Walker and Elliot 🥰
I don’t know how Nicky has done this, but my favourite part of the book is the middle — the part that is usually the most boring in almost every book I’ve read. Here, the growing tension was so delicious and satisfying that I couldn’t stop reading until the freaking middle of the night! The *physical therapy* scene will forever live in my mind thanks to Elliot 🔥🔥🔥
While I thoroughly enjoyed the funny-slash-tingly moments between Elliot and Charlotte (hello — those forearms 🥵🥵), I think I loved even more how both of them were there for each other during their most vulnerable moments. They took care of each other and lifted the other up.
It was a delight to see the other couples be happy and build their future. I can’t wait for the next book, I already love Tom and Hannah 🥰
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I received an advanced copy from the author. All opinions are my own.
Is it finally her time, or will she have to sacrifice her plans again?
Elliot owns a tech company that makes custom software. His older brother, Max, is one of his clients. The eastern branch office is located in Max's building, where he works closely with Charlotte.
Although a billionaire now, he came from a humble background. His father was a city bus driver, and his mother cleaned apartments to supplement his income while raising their three sons and the two nephews they took into their family. If it hadn't been for a teacher allowing him access to some broken and discarded computers and encouraging him, Elliot would have been even farther behind his classmates when he entered MIT. He wants to help underprivileged children by opening a series of First Byte tech learning centers in low-income areas. The first one is near where Charlotte was raised. Charlotte has been helping, but a few days before opening, when water pipes in the ceiling burst, it may be closed down before even opening.
Charlotte is the executive assistant for Max. Her entire life, she has put others before herself. Her mother walked away from her family, so as a young teenager, she cared for her father and two younger brothers. When she was ready to leave for college, her youngest brother was hurt and was confined to a wheelchair. She stayed home to care for him. Her dreams are finally going to be realized.
But now, when it's finally her time, there's Elliot. She wants him, and he wants her, but Max's work policies stand in their way...
I received an ARC of this book from the author via Booksprout. I am voluntarily leaving this review.
This was an off limits friends to lovers romantic comedy.
I loved this story! The characters were complex, realistic and relatable. The story was hilarious, heartbreaking, steamy and heartearming. Highly recommend! Must read.
Charlotte Lipton is Max's executive assistant. She wants to be a project manager and eventually an executive for Max's company. She has a business degree from Columbia.
Elliot Dashwood owns Two Coast Tech with his cousin Owen. His business builds custom data retention software and is located in his older brother Max's Manhattan skyscraper.
Elliot has had a crush on Charlotte for several years but knows it can't go anywhere because of Max's zero tolerance for workplace relationships policy and the family pact of not mixing business with pleasure. He and Owen are opening a non-profit tech learning center for kids called First Byte in Indiana and have plans to open more in economically disadvantaged cities. His right hand/assistant Greta breaks her wrist and ankle while on vacation with her grandkids leaving Elliot in a bind. Max suggests Charlotte work to make Elliot's project a success and he will give her a project to manage. As she works with Elliot she finds herself very attracted to him especially his forearms. While in Indiana dealing with a setback for the project they give into their attraction. They keep their relationship on the down low but get caught by Max at Owen's wedding forcing Charlotte to choose between her dream and Elliot. Both are miserable and finally confront Max. They reconcile and get their HEA.

𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐋𝐄: That Geeky Feeling 𝐀𝐔𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐑: Nicky Redford
𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅: • Contemporary Romances • Steamy Reads • Office romance • Friends to lovers • Only one bed • Off-limits boss's brother • So much pining • All the Feels • Cares for her when sick
𝐌𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒: This was my first taste of the authors work, and what a way to introduce myself to her beautiful love stories! Elliott & Charlotte's romance had it all! Swoon worthy pining, a MMC who care for her when's she's sick, only one bed and all the delicious tension of a workplace romance, not to mention, I'm pretty sure Charlotte is my spirit animal, the woman's organisation is a thing of beauty.
I loved these two. I fell hard and fast, not only for the forearm porn but also for them as characters. Their banter had me cracking up more than once and the way they were there for one another in ways they didn't even realise they needed gave me 𝐚𝐥𝐥.𝐭𝐡𝐞.𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬. I highly recommend it.
Huge thank you to the author for letting me enjoy this delicious romance ahead of release. I can't wait to catch up on the rest.
𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄: 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒.
𝐖𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐈 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐃?: Yes, definitely. It was a hilarious must read for any lovers of romantic comedies and all fans of the male forearm!
𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐀𝐋𝐒𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐂𝐊 𝐎𝐔𝐓: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬. This romance is book 5 of the series. I, for one, will be going back to complete the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Elliot Dashwood has been crushing on his brother Max’s assistant Charlotte Lipton for years. When he’s suddenly without an assistant of his own and a very important non profit event coming up, Max suggests borrowing Charlotte, the organisational Queen, to help him out. With a strict no staff fraternisation rule in place and being stuck in such close proximity with Charlotte, Elliot struggles to keep his feelings at bay.
Elliot is the sweetest man. He’s a walking green flag and the gestures he makes are adorable 🥹 He’s so thoughtful and caring towards Charlotte. Their banter together was so fun to read and they have so much chemistry. The text messages made me laugh so much 😂 Charlotte always puts others first and sacrifices her own happiness, so seeing Elliot take care of her was so sweet 🥰
The way Nicky writes these men is honestly incredible. I didn’t think the way she describes a man’s forearms could make me blush. I was wrong 🤣🥵
I always love seeing the couples from previous books pop up in the story too. This is book 5 in The Dashwood Billionaires series but can easily be read as a standalone.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
*I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review*
Charlotte is the Executive Assistant to Elliot Dashwood’s older brother Max. She just walked into Elliot’s office, finding no place to put down the files she is carrying. The geeky adorable programmer has every available surface filled with something, including multiple plants. In one corner alone he has a disorganized stack of computer components, soldering kits, pliers, and assorted random peripherals. He usually goes to her office when needed and wasn’t expecting this visit. Also, the mess is worse than usual with his own assistant away on vacation. Actually Elliot owns his own tech company creating custom software, working out of an office his brother provided, and Max is his client.
Charlotte and Elliot have worked together enough that they are attracted to each other, although neither has mentioned it to the other. Max has strict rules in the workplace that do not allow them to acknowledge or display any kind of romantic relationship. But when she gets sick, Elliot immediately takes care of her and lets her see how good they are together. Will they acknowledge their feelings finally? And are they ready to do something about it? Perhaps that business trip with only one bed may be the little push they needed?
OMG, Nicky has another hit. She somehow always manages to combine panty-melting hotness and laughing bladder leakage all in the same story 🤣🔥😍.
That Geeky Feeling is the next installment in the Dashwood Billionaires series, and I am officially in love with Elliot. I'm a sucker for hot geeks and have a new favorite, although I always adored him throughout the series. Elliot is the geeky, hunky tech genius with a fear of public speaking and sexy forearms. Charlotte is Max's over the top, organized assistant with a heart of gold. Elliot has been in love with her for four years but can't have her due to the "Dashwood Pact." I don't want to give away spoilers but will say we get the return of Max the tool (although he does redeem himself), have the hot one bed trope, lots of PowerPoint and a love of sexy forearms. And somehow Nicky makes a puking scene romantic..go figure.
I just related to both of these characters so well and fell totally in love with them.
After the drama, our lovely couple does get the HEA, but won't say more...JUST READ IT!!
I can't wait for Tom's book!!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is my first read from Nicky and I absolutely loved this story. It’s full of laughs, swoon, geekiness and delightful banter.
Hidden feelings make Elliot and Charlotte fumble and freak out when they are around one another…makes it more complicated that they work together.
The silly workplace rules make it challenging for them to act on their feelings…but they’ve both had enough. Their conversations, in person and via text, are so funny, sweet and amazing!!!
I love how they bring out the best in each other…regardless of the rules. They fight for what they believe is right, stand up to others and become an amazing power couple. Adored this story!
I need to go back and read the other books in the series to understand some don’t bother characters. Max is a big jerk throughout most of the book but then redeems himself! Lol
Charlotte is determined to work her way up the ladder to become the executive she dreams of being. Her boss gives her one large hoop to jump before she gets her chance; save an event for his brother that has fallen off the rails.
Elliot is the resident geeky Dashwood. He has also made it his mission to make Charlotte’s life easier by creating new apps to help her modernize her planning. When he’s in deep need of help to salvage his newest venture, Charlotte is more helpful than he could imagine. He just has to figure out how to make sure his true feelings aren’t advertised.
First time reading this author and now I can’t wait to go back and read about the other siblings. Loved the main characters and entertained by their interactions.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
this was my first @nickyredfordauthor read and it will absolutely not be my last. i need to read every dashwood book ever. this book was SO much fun, flowed so nicely, and had me pulling for the main characters for the first second. • elliot dashwood is a handsome, slightly nerdy, billionaire who is crushing on his brother’s PA. but of course he would never make a move… his brother max would never allow it… until his PA is out due to an injury, and he needs help before the launch of his newest charitable adventure. • charlotte is the best thing to ever happen to max dashwood. he wouldn’t be able to function without his super star PA. she doesn’t put up with his shit and keeps his life organized. but she is ready to start managing some projects and stop being max’s right hand. she isn’t thrilled when she’s assigned to work with elliot for 50% of her time. but she is the best at what she does • elliot is ready to get this project done, but how is he going to even function when the object of his desire is working with him? does charlotte feel the same way? and can things possibly get any more embarrassing for her…. just wait until their first working night 😅 • it all starts with his forearms….she likes them… he knows she likes them.. she knows he knows she likes them… but he doesn’t know that she knows that he knows she likes them… you know? • check out that geeky feeling by @nickyredfordauthor available on march 7th! you’ll love it!
Another great addition to Redford's The Dashwood Billionaires series! This is Elliot and Charlotte's story and oh how I've been waiting for Elliot's HEA! I loved these characters so much and I love how the blocks that initially kept them from being together finally fell. I love Redford's writing which delivers the romance and humor I crave and, in this one, provided a bit of suspense too. While this is book 5 in the series and some characters from previous reads do appear, this book can easily be read as a standalone - but with that said, you will fall in love with Redford's writing and want to read this whole series! I know for me I can't wait for more in this series and from Redford!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Delightful This was a charming and heartwarming story and a great addition to what has already been a fabulous series. I really enjoyed the humour that was woven throughout. The story flowed well and I was entertained and captivated right up until the end. I couldn't help falling for both Elliott and Charlotte as they both had their little issues and insecurities, yet realised that sometimes you have to prioritise and fight for love. I highly recommend all of the books in this series, although technically they can be read as standalones. I can't wait to see what this talented author comes up with next. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I haven’t read Max’s book, but I feel horrible for Polly. He is a manipulative, gaslighting asshole, and I hate him. He is the reason this book isn’t 5 stars. Without his terrible attitude and actions, it would easily be 5 stars. Elliot and Charlotte are super cute together, and the mutual pining/will they or won’t they kept me waiting with bated breath. I can’t forgive how horrible Max is though, which is unfortunate, because I really enjoyed the rest of it. I definitely plan on reading more of Nicky’s work.
Elliot my beloveddddd I still can’t believe what he went through in this book…
I was excited to finally get Elliot's book but the whole Max of it all ruined this book and them for me! So unnecessary and ridiculous. I wanted to slap Max and scream at her for just giving up so easily. Also how Elliot took her back after that omg I'm sorry but I would have tried to find a workaround and wouldn't have thrown my love away at first demand from Max.
I loved this , their relationship is really cute and i love the "he takes care of her when she's sick" trope , I finished it in less than 2 days and I'm glad I picked this up 😊
Charlotte is a planning queen. If you can track it with a planner she will do it! While paper is her thing tech is Elliot’s! This is an opposites attract, kinda workplace, definitely off limits romance. We see the rest of the Dashwood brothers who have found love reappearing in this novel and get to find out how Elliot’s HEA happens. Overall a cute, slow burn romance!
So far, this is my favorite of the Dashwood collection. I love Elliot and Charlotte. I love the playful relationship they have. I love the organized, rule-following Charlotte and the innocent, "little brother" Elliot! I enjoy how I could not predict how they might get together! Looking forward to the last one in the series!
