A dominant man in a uniform is something to behold. When the submissive female is also an officer of the law, what will happen?
Gabriella Villalobos aka Gabe is a workaholic single woman without friends. Her entire life is to put away criminals. Her job in the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) shows her only the worst in humanity. Her mission to rescue kids from bad situation stems from her own personal experience. It's not something she thinks about, but those who get to know her easily make the connection. Burned out, her concerned boss forces her to take a little vacation to decompress.
Gabe doesn't know what hits her when she decides to slip into a Munch. She meets Bill, a newbie to BDSM. The two of them hit it off and take a rope class together. With Gabe's personal baggage, she runs scared. She thinks it is over only to find him assigned to a case she's been tasked to lead.
This story could be all about the mystery and the nasty case Gabe is working on. Instead, it's about a woman's journey to healing and learning about herself. It's also a lovely story about Bill, a widower who finally decides to join life again. The characters in this book are so realistic it's easy to want them to become your friends. In fact, the camaraderie in this group of BDSM lifestylers is what is so appealing about this series. These are your average people with every day jobs getting their kink on. They have the same worries of being found out. They are so realistic, it makes one yearn to be in a group so closely knit and non-judgmental.
Ms. Dalton excels in her BDSM contemporary stories because she writes what she knows. For all we know, she's journaling the life and times of each of her friends. Do they smile when they read a new book and see themselves showcased as characters? The BDSM practiced in this book are lightly touched upon. Yet one can tell Ms. Dalton is experienced based on how easily she presents the scenes of munches and classes. Even the play party is described in a way that could easily take place in my hometown. It's reassuring to read this kind of realistic BDSM story when there are so many billionaire dom books floating around.
I do wish there were more detailed descriptions of the rope sessions. Then again, this isn't a bondage 101 course. The BDSM scenes and sexual interludes are all delightfully erotic. Gabe and Bill's chemistry is hot. Their playfulness and growth together is beautiful and all one can hope for as a beginner in BDSM. Their journey together isn't without bumps, yet Ms. Dalton does provide a happily ever after. For those who want to see how it can be when belonging to a BDSM group, this book is an excellent example. This book is definitely recommended as a Gateway to BDSM.

Ms. Dalton's seventh book is somehow different from her previous. It seems to be more of a love story and romance than BDSM story. A dominant widower (Bill) in a uniform and a female officer (Gabe) with some personal demons from the past. It is coincidence they met but it is love and understanding that made them last.
The main plot is developing around her healing process and dealing with her personal issues. She concurs them with a lot of help from Bill. The criminal plot about the case is pushed into background. It seems like it plays its role as an anchor and helps with building their relationship. There is some mystery evolving the case but it doesn't play the main part. Furthermore, BDSM also wasn't in first line of the story. It is there but I wish there were more detailed scenes and not so repetitive regarding the orgasms. Daddy-girl relationship jumps in all of the sudden and I think it suits Gabe perfectly regarding her childhood issues and abuse. Even though they don't go into details, they just jump in. Those are cathartic moments for her and we can see her healing and embracing her future with Bill.
Bill seems perfect, mature and understanding. Through the story we get to see more and more of his Dominant side, even though he is always referring to himself as a newbie. He and his late wife did have D/s dynamic, but he is going quite slowly with Gabe. I liked how he is always persuading her that she is good, but in the end there was just a pinch too much of »you are my good girl, my very good girl« sentences. The story overall was interesting and sweet with some drama moments but I found myself not completely drawn into it. There were some parts where it drug on too long.

I had high expectations for this book. I LOVED The Reluctant Dom and liked The Denim Dom quite a bit as well. This book started off great. Gabriella "Gabe" lost her parents when she was young, and was raised by her abusive grandmother. She left home as soon as she turned 18, joined the army and then became police investigator. She's a loner who is obsessed with work. Bill is a police detective who lost his wife, the love of his life, nine years ago. He hasn't found anyone since, but his friends keep trying to set him up. When Gabe's boss sends her to Saratoga on a forced vacation, she ventures out to a local restaurant the same night they are hosting a munch for a BDSM group, and Gabe ends up in their meeting. She and Bill are immediately attracted to each other, but both are unsure about starting anything, especially Gabe.
One of the things I like about Tymber Dalton's books are that the characters are closer to real people, with their flaws and faults and every day challenges. It's a nice change from the billionaire/young girl books (although I do like those as well - isn't escapism one of the reasons we read?) I really liked how Bill was so patient with Gabe. This BDSM series is so much more realistic and so much healthier for all the characters involved than 50 Shades.

Broken Toy (The Suncoast Society) by Tymber Dalton, was written as a warm, compassionate, story, with a dominant male lead who had unlimited patience and was there to help Gabriella tackle her demons. The chemistry between Bill and Gabe (Gabriella), was strong and believable. This was a love story of two people who had given up on relationships, meeting by chance, and finding through the lifestyle what they needed to bring meaning back into their lives – trust, love, emotional support, and each other.
As with many of Tymber’s stories I was moved by the wedding/commitment ceremony, it seems she has a way of writing beautiful, moving, heart tugging, collaring, commitment or wedding scenes, that just engage the reader as if they were actually a part of the celebration.

I really enjoyed the story between Gabe and Bill it was very well written and showed the caring as love between the two characters.
My only fault with this book along with the other Suncoast Society books is when Tilly and Landry are mentioned after reading Cardinal's Rule any mention of these two characters kills my joy of the storyline. I truly despise these two characters and wish they wouldn't be mentioned in the story lines even in passing.

This book has hit home more than any other book I've read it a long time. How Ms. Dalton could get into my head and heart so deeply I don't know. For me this book was very emontional. The relationship between Gabe and Bill is definitely hot and sweaty.
For sure will read again. Don't hesitate to get this one and read it. Now today! Grab the box of tissues, your e-reader get to it.

This was actually kind of amazing. I started off giving this a 3 star rating but i just couldn't. The characters dynamics in this story are too realistic to not earn extra credit. This was a story that could easily be the life of your best friend or hell even yours. That alone made this worth reading.

Another great step in the story line. Gabe and Bill work out great, would have been nice to see Gabe give away some of her animals, my thoughts. Love the way your mind works Tymber.

Broken Toy is the seventh book in the Suncoast Society series by Tymber Dalton. This book is part of a series but can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel with ease, however many of characters from past books do make an appearance in this book.
Gabriella “Gabe” Villalobos is an officer with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. She works mainly in the sex crimes division. She has had a rough life and wages an inner battle with voices of her past. Gabriella keeps herself so removed from those around her she has no friends or a life beyond work. Meeting Bill throws a curve ball in her life for the better.
William “Bill” Thomas is a detective with the local police department. He is trying to get back into dating after losing his wife many years ago. After several years of dating, he tries BDSM. After taking several classes from friends, he met and got to know better from a former case (Pinch Me by Tymber Dalton).
The connection between Bill and Gabe is blistering. I loved seeing that both of them fight themselves as to getting involved. Bill did not push Gabe anymore than she could take at any point. Also, when she started calling Bill “Daddy” he let it happen and embraced it when she needed it.
This book was very well written. The main and secondary character are interesting and genuine characters. The ending was predictable but it was the journey on the way that was so appealing. The age play aspect fit very well in the overall story line and it did not feel off. Overall, this was an amazing book.

I think I drool a little each time I see Tymber release a new book. It's like having an addiction to something and no matter how much you try to, you can't resist the power it holds over you.
Such a great, emotional addition to The Suncoast Society Series! I feel as though Tymber grabbed a hold of me from the first sentence and didn't let go until I knew Gabe and Bill's story completely. This story is filled with so much emotion from Gabe's horrible childhood to Bill's loss of his beautiful wife. Bill is one great character because he has that sweet exterior, but a very Dom side in the bedroom and he knows what he likes. Gabe surprised me as well in this book as she puts on this tough exterior as a detective in her work, but in the bedroom, she discovers her submissive side. These two together are beautiful! I love how Tymber creates this little world of The Suncoast Society. The imagery is so strong, I feel like I can picture right where everyone is in the book. We get a glimpse of all the characters from her previous books in each additional book she writes in the series. Her characters are so real you feel as though they are long time friends of yours and that you could step right into the story and become one with them because they are so easy to relate to. I can't wait to read more in this series and more from this amazing author. She is one of those go to authors for me because I could read anything that she produces.

I found this to be an interesting story, but for *me*, not one of the best in this series.
I felt it drug on too long, I started getting bored a bit with it and the characters. However, it wasn't the worst book i've read either. I'm a Tymber Dalton fan. She walks the talk. I love her Suncoast Society series and how characters from previous stories are bit players in consecutive stories, especially this one. The Daddy dom dynamic in this story doesn't trip my trigger but the story is still very good. The sex scenes are HOT. The characters are well developed as in all of Tymber's books. I also love how she interjects aspects of her own personal life into her stories. The amigurimi toys in this story is one of those aspects. The characters in this story are middle aged people looking for love, hoping but never expecting to find it. I always love a happy ending and that's what I get when I read Tymber's books.

Another 5+ star book from Tymber Dalton. I was a little worried starting this book to find out the Hero was a widower as I have recently lost my husband, but knowing Tymber's books I trusted it was going to be a awesome book and she blew me away, again. The book has so many Laugh out loud moments as well as so many perfectly captured moments that I related to on a personal level. On top of that the plot was awesome as usual and the heat level was off the charts. I enjoyed getting to see the other past characters from other Suncoast Society books and now will be waiting again for her next to come out.

First I just want to say I normally love books for this author. I think my major disconnect with this book was that it just wasn't my kink. The book started out well enough for me but at around 50% -when the sexy scenes started-I felt that the characters became someone else. I did not like all the daddy talk and the overuse of the good girl or the stuffed animals. The first two were okay even the bear from grandmas stuff but the last too were too much for meI felt like Gabe just had some kind of complete mental breakdown and needed to see someone about it.
I will read other books by this author in the future.

I liked this story. In both the previous book and this one, it shows how the dynamic can be a stress reliever for some. I was really glad to see Bill find someone to love again. He seems like such a great guy who got love yanked from him. It was great to see him be able to find it again. This book also highlighted how the lifestyle is kept quiet and the fear some have that their choices may be discovered and used against them. I often wonder when reading these types of books, how many people compromise their happiness because of these fears.

For the first time, I'm disappointed with a Tymber Dalton book. This book skims over most events that happen. They go to the club, then it's the next day. They kiss, then it's several hours later. Part of the fun of people learning about bdsm in these books is reading their reactions to the club as they experience it for the first time. Everything was glossed over and it was a real let down. Around 90%, it finally starts digging in, but it felt like it was too late. Definitely not in my reread list.

4.5 Really enjoyed the book. I liked the characters and the Florida setting. The law enforcement dynamic was different. After the last book, I was so happy to see Bill find someone.

Overall I like this series but there are some books better than others. This was one of the better books as it was more romantic than most. I liked that both of the main characters were older and had an interesting back story. I liked that they both carried some emotional baggage. Then the Daddy and good girl started and that has always creeped me out but especially in this book as she had issues from childhood. It was still a good story.

We "Met" Thomas in 'Pinch Me'. Sometimes I wonder...as I read these books if people who grew up being abused are more likely to lean towards wanting to learn or become part of BDSM? Another great addition to the Suncoast Society Series by Tymber Dalton!! It was a very emotional read for me but I loved it! You will want to have your tissues handy when reading this one. I loved the chemistry between Gabe and Bill. I think all of us at some point have probably felt like Gabe does in the story but with love and acceptance we can overcome those feelings.

Another great Tymber tale. I like how realistic the characters are and how you can relate to their everyday issues. Time is never rushed, there is no insta love or submission. We are also given little glimpses of past characters and see how their lives have progressed. All in all another solid read from a master author.
