Here is a well-organized book with appropriate icons, with explained medical terminology acting as eye opener to all. Here is a book on a difficult, complicated neurodiversity subject which gives a *clear message* to each one in the category of patients, parents, paramedical staff, and medical fraternity,
" Neurodivergents' brain function in a different way, should not be looked as if it is a disease ." Out of box approach to solve complicated problem is their speciality.Let us make the most of it. Congratulations to these three authors John, Khushboo and Ranga for their enduring work to simplify subject in an interesting manner.
This was decently helpful but it got very very repetitive. The first few chapters were the best. I felt like this could’ve been condensed by about 150 pgs. But being written by neurodiverse folks, I understand why it was repetitive; they’re passionate about the topic so they tend to repeat stuff. As a very very neurodiverse girl, I do the same thing. I will keep giving a bajillion examples about a subject I’m excited about until my friends/family be like “Dude stop. Enough examples lol.” So I get it but did make for a pretty tedious read and I literally just skimmed the last like 50 pgs or so cause it was pretty much just a word for word repeat of stuff that had already been said. 😂
Great book, well-organised & a lot of practical advice. I just wish there had been a bit more information on each of dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia. Especially when the autism & ADHD sections were so detailed. What I DID find particularly useful was chapter 10, and the section profiling your neurodivergent traits. Wish I’d had it a month ago when my boss asked the whole team to fill in forms about our learning styles!
It is what it is. Extremely broad so not a lot of super practical information and because it's not meant to be read straight through, but rather for readers to flip to relevant parts, a lot of information seemed to be repeated.
