Sometimes the wrong number is the exact one you need.
Who is the fool who left their phone on vibrate during the most important presentation of their career? Yep, that’s right. Me. And it would be fine if the blasted thing wasn’t blowing up during the Q&A. Whoever is calling me better have a true emergency on their hands, because if they don’t, they’re going to the land of the blocked.
The room finally clears, and I discover my phone is filled with picture after picture of adorable kittens in a box. WTH? And then I scroll back far enough to see the initial message. Some guy got this number from an answering service and thought he was calling a rescue. I’m no rescue, but I know a thing about abandoned kittens, and something tells me this wrong number isn’t an accident at all… it’s fate.
Wrong Number, Right Bear is a sweet with knotty heat MM Mpreg romance featuring a human who stumbles upon a box at the dumpster filled with more than trash, the bear he accidentally calls for help, true love, fated mates, an adorable baby, and a happy ever after. If you love your alphas hot, your omegas strong, and your mpreg with heart, download your copy today.
Colbie’s characters are sexy, hot, adorable - and often filthy - alphas and omegas. They include feudal lords with dark secrets, outrageous aristocrats with scandals buried deep in their past and poverty-stricken gentleman who have gambled away their inheritance.
Lurking in the background are notorious kings, princesses, and courtiers whose opinions change with each whisper in their ear.
And as for Colbie herself? She dictates her steamy stories with a glass of champagne in one hand. Because why not?
This was cute where I didn't know who was the Omega and who was the Alpha until they pointed it out because we got a ridiculously sweet Alpha that wanted to save the kitties. After Theo finds the kittens in the trash area, he immediately tries to get them help but everywhere is full so he calls the number of a rescue that he receives from a vet. The number he blows up though is Carlton's, during a really important presentation. Whoops! Carlton deep down knows that he needs to help the man with the kittens but doesn't understand his instant obsession. Once they meet, Carlton realizes that the sweet Alpha kitten rescuer is his fated mate. They are really sweet with each other, even through some strain to their relationship.
“Just to clarify, when I said ‘dessert,’ I meant you.” “Best. Dessert. Ever.”
One thing that took away from the story was that I could not keep up with the timeframes. It was hard to tell if it had been days, weeks, or months that had passed in some areas of the book so I felt lost.

Wrong Number, Right Bear is the first book in the ‘Dial M for Mates,’ series. It stars Carlton, a bear shifter, and Theo, a human. This is told in first person from both Carlton and Theo’s povs.
I’m going to start with the blurb. The blurb doesn’t convey whose pov it is in, it is Carlton’s. He gets a frantic message from a stranger, Theo, that kittens need rescuing, so Carlton meets Theo at the pet store where Carlton’s bear informs him that Theo is their mate. Theo being human isn’t aware of them as mates, but he is very attracted to Carlton and doesn’t understand why. I did like how the authors had Theo question his feelings and interactions with Carlton, and about shifters in general in this book, more so than compared to their other books that contained a shifter and human relationship.
The plot was simple and quick with Carlton and Theo working to get to know each other while they rescued and played with the kittens. The kittens were used as a plot device to focus the characters actions around and to give the story a fluffy feel.
Now the cover and series. This book is titled, Wrong Number, Right Bear. It has the same cover as the second book in this series, the only difference is the color tone and the model. The model is the exact same body, but with a different head. The title also follows the same sequence as this book, Wrong Number, Right Dragon. That isn’t all that bad, since it links the stories in the series together. The one problem, is there’s another book that is called, Wrong Number, Right Wolf, that is the second book in the ‘Love Sync Mates’ series. That book has the exact same cover style as the books in this series with the same sort of set-up. I read the wolf book, too. I don’t understand why the authors inserted it into a different series that it doesn’t correlate with. All I can think is, is since the other book didn’t rate as high, they decided to keep it in that series, and they probably liked the idea of another series based on the idea of ‘Wrong Number.’ Anyway, I think it confuses the two series, because it makes ‘Right Bear’ appear like the second book in this current series because it came out after ‘Right Wolf.’ I think it would work best if they removed ‘Wolf’ from the other series, re-edit it, because it wasn’t well written, and then insert it into this series later.
Next the characters. Carlton and Theo were more interesting than most of the characters from other books, in that they had more distinct voices. Not super different, but most of the time I could tell who’s pov it was. Since Carlton is a bear shifter and in a position of influence at his company, I thought he was probably the Alpha. Surprise! He was an omega. The cover conveys a bear and who I’m guessing is Carlton. Even Carlton’s voice is firmer and slower, while Theo’s voice seemed higher, and he tends to be more excitable than Carlton, which usually in shifter stories conveys an omega. Usually the voices remained consistent, except in certain cases. During sex, their tones changed. Carlton had the submissive omega voice, while Theo was more alpha. Also, during the pregnancy and birth, Carlton was more submissive and Theo alpha. I’d say their voices changed half way through the story, although they did remain distinct.
I wish the authors had put more action and emphasis into the scene when Carlton showed Theo his bear. There was some horror on Theo’s part, but it de-escalated too quickly for me. I suppose that could be explained away in that Theo sensed that Carlton was his mate so Theo didn’t really fear him. However, I would have preferred more action and conflict.
I noticed again that the authors didn’t add much emotion or action into this story. It reads more like a cleaned-up draft without enough description, which made it difficult for me to immerse into the plot. It was more like a narration looking from the outside. Here is an example of what I mean. This scene is near the beginning when Theo discovers the kittens and takes them to work to show one of his co-workers.
Theo: “Not garbage.” I set the box on her desk and opened it up. Co-Worker: “People really do that?” She was every bit as appalled as I was.
That conversation is absent of strong emotional horror or surprise. It’s flat. I would imagine most people, including myself would react with a, Big Gasp! “Oh no, the poor little kittens! How could anyone do such a thing to these sweet babies?” Then reach in to either pet them or lift one out. And then more baby talk. Instead, it’s written as ‘she was appalled.’ No connection, no emotion, just telling a flat comment. This is often the style of writing in this book and many others by these authors, so it comes across as telling and doesn’t pull me into the story or the characters.
Overall Wrong Number, Right Bear is better written than the other ‘first’ book ‘Right Wolf.’ I liked that Theo and Carlton’s voices are distinct until they start to have sex and Carlton gets pregnant, then their tone of voices switch. I also liked Carlton’s conversations with his bear, those were funny. I give this book, 3 Stars. It should have had more emotion, more action, and more descriptions.

Okay, I want to say I really liked the concept here. There's a wrong number, cute kittens, and the guys don't have traditional alpha and omega roles. The problem is, I'm 30% in and there is no problem. Instead, there's an intense sex scene. It's a sexy scene, especially if you like exhibitionism.
I read stories to get to know the characters, and you don't get to know them without conflict. I've read some good stories by these authors, but they write a lot of stories, and no conflict seems to be a regular problem, so I won't be finishing this one to find out if a conflict eventually develops.
Alpha Theo, accustomed to finding discarded treasures while dumpster diving, one day discovers a box of abandoned kittens. Overwhelmed and desperate for help, he mistakenly contacts omega bear shifter Carlton, who is in the middle of a business presentation. Despite the initial wrong number, Carlton gets involved, helping Theo with the kittens in a humorous meet cute at the pet store where Carlton scents Theo as his mate. As they navigate the complexities of rescuing and nurturing the kittens, their relationship deepens, and things quickly heat up between the two. Their relationship is tested and strengthened by their experiences and the intimate moments they share while caring for the kittens - loved when they all went on the picnic and Theo found out that Carlton was talking about a different beast than what thought he was talking about. Their interactions are filled with light-hearted and supportive moments, as well as deeper emotional exchanges that reveal their compatibilities and the strength of their bond. Hot and steamy MM human-bear shifter romance with some relationship angst for them to work through as they love and support one another and all their little ones.
Wrong Number, Right Bear was a sweet romance. I'm not use to the alpha's being more sensitive than the omegas but Theo was definitely a sensitive soul. A big ol softie that found four kitties.... He just had to keep them after unknowingly dialed Carlton for help. I just loved Carlton and his bear and when the finally met Theo, there was no chance of him walking away from his sweet alpha mate. Loved their romance and the sweet cub and the end. NICE!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
As a practice, I typically don’t review books I have not completed especially if it is a matter of preference. This is one of the cases I feel valid in continuing to review despite stopping at 44%.
This book has absolutely 0 world or character building. Perhaps if there was a singular world all mpreg and/or shifter books come from that contained a standard set of rules, that would be acceptable but this book felt like drowning and reaching for seaweed to try and get to the surface. Every author creates their own portrayal of this subgenre and this author operates from a standard of “all ABO/omegaverse/MPREG functions the sam.”
From the beginning, it is clear the MC Carlton is a bear shifter and MC Theo is human. It’s not immediately clear whether shifter are known to humans or not which is fine.
At 25% when the couple is making out and Carlton (our shifter) refers to Theo (the human) as an alpha, I immediately had to put the book down and tilt my head like a dog. At NO point before this was there any indicator alphas and omegas existed nor that Carleton was an omega or a human could be an alpha.
It’s also worth stating that at this point (even up to 44%) that we have received NO description of either man. None. Not just physical descriptors but even Theo’s job is just “works in office” and Carlton works at an architecture firm. So there has been no “physical” or “emotional” signs that ABO was involved or any sort of dominance or submissive nature shown.
I almost quit at this point because I think with ABO world building is SO important but since by this point it was revealed humans don’t know about shifters, I believed that it was possible only shifters knew about ABO and it would become clearer once Carleton reveals his bear. Fat nope. We find out absolutely nothing. It appears that mpreg may be common knowledge for humans but it is still unclear if alpha or omega is. The writing would make me think it is but that does not fit in with any of the prior events where Theo appears clueless.
I have double checked and this is the first in a series however I suspect the author writes a lot of their books in the same world? Perhaps that is why there is no context for anything. I think even interconnected novels need an explanation of such crucial details if they are depicted as stand alone books.
I got to almost 50% of the book and could not tell you anything about alphas or omegas in the context of this book or what either character looked like besides their genitalia. To be clear, I love ABO/omegaverse books and have no problem with them. I do have a problem with poor development. I see others enjoy this book but I personally cannot recommend it.
I don't trust these authors anymore. It's like they're writing just to get their ideas down, without even bothering to read them themselves. How do these kind of books get published, seriously? Don't they realize how ridiculous they are? I mean, even for fated mates, it's still way too ridiculous. Taking home a literal complete stranger, and so on. It's just... It blows my mind how ridiculous it is. I've tried the first of Omegas of Animals. I've tried this one. I literally couldn't read more than a few pages, maybe like 2 chapters, and I just couldn't anymore. I adore MM books, and fated mates, and mpreg, and totally adore ridiculously sappy, mushy romance. Like B.A Stretke's books. And while those are kinda the same, with getting to it with someone you just met, there's just something about these authors, Colbie Dunbar and Lorelei M. Hart that I just....can't read and they feel ridiculous to me in a bad way. I'm not very good with words, so I don't actually have an idea of how to describe how these books make me feel. I feel like Lorelei M. Hart just stopped caring and started making the books more and more rushed and ridiculously bad. Alpha Kissed, Mapleville Omegas, Royal Heat. I adore those. Then it started getting bad. I don't know what time these were published, in what order, but.... The first few of the The Dates of Our Lives series were also pretty awesome. Then I started reading Matched to His Hawk and it just... It didn't feel right. It annoyed me and made me huff, and I just couldn't finish it anymore. It was the same with Male-Order Mates. I think I finished The Brooding Bear's Omega, though I'm not quite sure because it was quite a while ago. But after that, I just couldn't go on. And it made me really sad, because I was so curious about some of the characters, that I saw got their own book, but I just...couldn't get to them. Especially Omegas of Animals. They're just so...ugh. That's a good word to say how they make me feel. I'm sure they're great books, and those 3 series I adored makes it obvious Lorelei M. Hart is a great author. Colbie Dunbar I haven't actually read any of her books, but... I just wish they'd stop making things so rushed and... I get that the books are shorter, but there's way to not make it feel rushed. And not making them "ugh" anymore. And I'm probably gonna be cursed out and called mean and such by fans. I don't mean to be offensive or anything of the sort. It's my personal opinion and I have the right to it. I just had to put down my frustration, because I really wanted to read all the other books, and meet the other characters, and see their happy endings, and I just...it makes me sad that I can't, because I can't get past the "ugh" and connect with them.
'The guy glanced up, and for some reason I saluted him as if I was reporting for duty. My bear facepalmed.'
I really enjoyed this book. It was such a cute read! As sad as I was for the abandoned kittens, they were found by the perfect person who had somehow gotten help from other kindhearted people. Theo was willing to take the rest of his work day off to try and find a safe place to bring them. When he showed his boss the abandoned kittens, he was immediately told to take administrative leave to help them. When he brought them to a shelter that was full, a [volunteer] nurse who'd just finished work spent an hour checking and feeding them for free. And of course, sweet Carlton, who'd received a wrong number text for help and rushed over as soon as he could. It just put me in a good place in spite of the circumstances (of the abandoned kittens).
I loved both Theo and Carlton. I thought they were really cute together and had chemistry right away. Carlton's bear knew Theo was their mate even before Carlton did. I loved his relationship with his bear. And I loved the relationship that built between them and Theo. 4 stars.
I don’t even know where to start with this. First off, I seem to be a minority when it comes to the rating of this book which is absolutely okay, this book was obviously not for me. It was definitely hard to finish but I tend to not dnf a book but rather push through (this one could not end fast enough for me).
As for my review. This book lacked any sort of plot. It read like it was an outline for an actual book that had not been fleshed out yet. I would say it had a lot of plot holes, but again there was no plot so I guess there were just unfinished thoughts. The book consisted of ideas/thoughts with flat characters. The characters had so little depth that, at times, it was hard to distinguish who was talking or who’s chapter I was reading. The book felt as if it was sprinting to the fishing line, it jumped through scenes faster than anything I have read before (I feel like I have whiplash).
Overall, it was a terrible read for me but it does seem to have an audience that enjoys it. Again not for me and so glad to be done with it. I doubt I will read other books from the author after this experience.
This was a really cute story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Just like any other story that this Author writes. I have enjoyed this series so far where each character finds the faded mate through a wrong phone call or text message. Carlton is an omega bear shifter, he receives a text message one day about a man who has four kittens that he found in a box beside a dumpster. Theo is an alpha, but also a human. When he goes to take out the trash one day, he discovers a box with four kittens beside the dumpster. Now he needs to find somewhere that will take them, but no shelters will take the kittens, and he decides to take on the responsibility, and that leads him to meet Carlton who helps him, but also discovered that he is his fated mate. These four kittens never had it so good and were immediately adopted into this loving couples life, it’s not always easy with a human and a shifter, but they do feel the pull of fate and go onto to have a happily ever after.
I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.
Part of the Dial M For Mates series once you start you won’t want to put it down until the last page has ben turned and waiting for the next one 😊. Baby kittens leads to so much more Alpha Theo is a searcher for treasurer who finds them in some of the weirdest way like digging through garbage which leads him to a box of kittens so he does the logical thing call his friend or so the that never dawned on him he had the wrong number. Carlton an omega bear shifter giving a presentation that will help him with his job, doing great until someone keeps calling back to back, making him wonder who would be calling him like this most of his friends knew about his presentation and getting annoyed because the keep calling not getting the message when the first call wasn’t answered. The moment he returns the call he knows he has to get to know Carlton they work together to save the babies but magnetic pull between them can’t be ignored especially knowing they are mates do they find homes for all their babies and can they find something more than a wrong number?
And the rest is history! Theo, is out dumping the garbage when he comes upon 4 adorable little kittens. He made his best efforts to get them to safety, housing and fed. His journey is funny and an eye opener to what goes into helping the abandoned 4 legged. Carlton and his office are in the process of presenting for winning a big contract that will take years and set the company up as a key player in the area. He is the face of the company, the point person. His phone starts to buzz constantly during the presentation. Turns out Theo has the wrong number and thinks he’s contacting the last shelter that’s open. There were a series of events that guided these two toward each other. They felt an instant attraction when they finally met and the fact that one was human and the other a bear, just made the challenges sweeter. Nice story. Very nicely paced. Excellent supportive friends. Theo and Carlton are two very likeable men. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Theo is a human alpha, he has found a box of kittens out by the dumpster and is looking for help or a place to drop them off. I get the number for a rescue but the mailbox is full and so I send pictures of the kittens, hoping someone will call me back. Carlton is an omega bear and during a presentation his phone starts buzzing because it is on vibrate. He is unable to check his phone for several hours. When he does he finally sees pictures and calls the number back. Carlton is not able to let Theo know he miss dialed, instead he runs to Theo's rescue at the pet store. Theo decides to keep the kittens and goes to the pet store to get the items he needs for the kittens. Carlton agrees to help Theo and meets him at Theos home to put the different items together. Will Carlton and Theo stay together or will the kittens pull them apart???? Can Carlton look past the kittens and agree to spent time with Theo????.

"It was fate that I’d been the one to get the messages about the kittens'
This is book 1 in a new spin-off series called Dial M For Mates. When I saw this book pop up on Booksprout I couldn't wait to read and review. I've been looking forward to this series after reading 2 other 'Wrong Number, Right' books in the Love Sync Mates series. If you haven't read these books I highly recommend them as well. The two books, in the Love Sync Mates series, follow the same formula as this one... a wrong number is dialed and mates are brought together in the most unusual ways.
This story has an adorable meet cute which involves a box of adorable kittens, a human, and a bear shifter who receives the call for help.
At the end of this book there's a teaser for the next book in the series, which involves a dragon who receives the call. I can't wait!!!
Theo loved finding things near the dumpster to take home and repair them but one night he took the trash out from the office he tripped over a box he opened it and saw 4 baby kittens. His boss told him to take the rest of his time off and get them situated but couldn’t find any place to take them, left a message for the cat rescue and left a message but was the wrong number. Theo accidentally called Carlton instead of the rescue so after work Carlton went to the pet store and helped him get what he needed to care for them. Carlton’s bear said mine when they met and Theo felt that they belonged together and kept the kittens. Good book!.

Theo went out to take out the trash and finds tiny kittens who had been discarded near the dumpster. He didn't know what to do for them but he made a valiant attempt to find them a shelter or a rescue that could take them in. Failing that he tries his best to provide for them until he finds an alternative only to fall in love with them and decide to keep them. Along the way, he dials a wrong number and Carlton and his bear come to the rescue wanting to help the kittens but when they encounter Theo they smell their mate. This was so cute. These two men with good hearts who in coming to the rescue of these four kittens find their guy. Could not have been sweeter!.

Full transparency... Going in, I knew these authors don't actually click my buttons, but the premise just pulled me right in! I am still not a fan of the writing style, but this was an extremely cute story with a slight twist on the "alpha" side of things. Honestly, I didn't even realize that Theo WAS the alpha... I thought it would be Carlton. My first of many "ummm" moments.
Not sure that I would be moving on with this series, except... DRAGONS!!! 🥰🤣
This was such a cute book; imagine a wrong number leading you to find your fated mate! I was a little surprised to find out that Theo was the alpha and Carlton was the omega, their personalities seemed just the opposite but it was still enjoyable with the baby kittens and my favorite, Carlton’s bear; I laughed so much at that bear! Romance is definitely my favorite genre but even better is when that romance has a little humor thrown in and, to me, that’s what elevated this book from “a good book” to “a really great book”. 4.5 stars!!!.

Another great spin-off series. I thoroughly enjoyed the last series so was looking forward to this new series. A great concept of dialling a wrong number which leads to your fated mate! I loved how cute this book was especially where Theo mistakenly dials Carlton to rescue a box of adorable kittens. A steamy relationship with plenty of light hearted moments but some angst ensues that they work through to give us a lovely hea. I liked how Colbie gave us a teaser at the end for the next book in the series, leaving me avidly awaiting it!.

Theo finds four kittens in a box by a dumpster and rings a number for help. Theo often found things in the dumpster when taking out his trash but was shocked to find a box with four kittens in it. He phones shelters but they are full as it is what they call Kitten season when the feral cats are giving birth. He he is given a number which rings out each time he phones. Omega Bear shifter Carlton is in a presentation for a major project when his phone keeps ringing and when he checks after the meeting they are all from the same private number.

I rated this book 3.5 stars, so I rounded it up to 4 stars. I thought that this was a good book and I also thought that it was a good start to the Dial M for Mates Series. This is a book about fated mates so their relationship moves at warp speed. Carlton, a bear shifter left his phone on silent during a major presentation for work, and his phone keeps vibrating during the Q&A. After the room is cleared out he checks his phone and he has multiple photos of some adorable kittens in a box. He’s very confused but then scrolls up to the first message and some guy got his number through the answering service and believes that he’s calling Carlton for a rescue.
Carlton knows a bit about abandoned kittens so he decides to go help the man. When Carlton goes inside the pet store where Theo told him to meet him there, he scents Theo is his mate. I liked that they had issues to work through, mainly to do with how much Carlton was working so they couldn’t really spend much time together initially. It goes to show that even if you’re fated you still have to work on your relationship. Their kittens were adorable. Carlton and his bear’s conversations made me smile. I’m looking forward to reading the next book, Wrong Number, Right Dragon. I’d recommend this book, series and authors to others.
I didn't like this book. It's a omegaverse story. The only thing I liked was that the Alpha and the Omega didn't fall into the traditional roles they usually have in most books set in this universe. But other than that, the rest was strange. It was low angst to the point nothing really happened. If you don't count the kittens' rescue. There seemed to be missing parts at first, and then I realised it was just the change of scenes, which wasn't very well done. I kept feeling like I was jumping from one thing to another without connection between the different scenes. The writing felt weird and the plot was a bit boring. Oh well.
Wrong Number, Right Bear is the first book in the Dial M For Mates series. This book features Theo a human alpha and Carlton an omega bear shifter. It all starts with Theo finding a box of abandoned baby kittens. He's looking for a rescue to help him and accidentally calls Carlton instead. Both these guys are super sweet. I love the insta lust/love fated mates stories. We get everything we need for a very satisfying read. I love how Colbie and Lorelei write the characters and build their worlds. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book.
Theo loved to go dumpster diving but this time he was putting rubbish in it until he tripped over a box he opened it up and found 4 tiny kittens so he took them home he rang a rescue but no one answered so he sent them pictures of the kittens. Carlton was in a meeting when his phone kept buzzing he couldn’t answer until his work was finished, he ended up calling the guy back and went to meet him at a pet store and let’s just say that the rest is history. I loved this story and the characters and the cute little kittens who loved Carlton’s growly bear and I highly recommend this book.
I read the first 2 books in this series and while not bad they weren't very good either. I'm currently at 32% in this book and it's as interesting as a wet paper bag. I can't waste anymore time on this book, this series or these authors. Their world and character building is so basic and uninteresting it's a slog to get through these books. Nothing but meeting and bam insta-love, mates relationship. Can't recommend. Wrong Number Right Wolf and Wrong Number Right Tiger all titled similar but in different series?
Human alpha, Theo, discovers a box of abandoned kittens. While looking for help he calls omega bear shifter, Carlton. Carlton is in the middle of a work presentation when his phone keeps vibrating. When he finally gets to check it he realises it’s a wrong number. He goes to help Theo and his bear knows immediately he is his fated mate. Sweet, steamy, fun story with amazing chemistry, a little miscommunication, true love and a wonderful HEA.

This book was so bad. First of all 0 character or world building. 0 drama as well. the spice was whatever for me and I just didn’t buy the insta love and chemistry. The “Alpha”- Theo was such a sissy that he didn’t match an alpha type at all. And then what is with a male man/bear giving birth. I know that some people do not believe in gender but in nature a male no matter the species (except seahorses and their similar water buddies) cannot give birth. None of this made sense and it just was not good! Period!
How could calling the wrong number end up being so right. That’s exactly what happened and led to the oh so perfect love match when you least expect it. These characters were entertaining and very enjoyable I didn’t think I would be as caught up in this story but I found myself totally hooked on these strong characters sizzling road to love.

I did not realize I like this trope until I read Colbie past book. This book starts with Theo calling for help with a box of found kittens which leads him to Carlton.
I liked this book had mpreg and shifters, while also highlighting the crazy work life balance I am currently experiencing. I would recommend this book as it's light a fluffy, which is my favorite.
