Only two people can save him - if they have the courage to trust each other.
Elizabeth Barritt fought hard to put her childhood behind her. Now she has the chance to move forward, to reach out for a new, exciting future. All she has to do is take the first step.
And she does - straight into Jackson Kane's path. He is a time traveler, on the hunt for a rogue agent.
When Kane is injured protecting Elizabeth from that agent, she makes a decision that will change her life, in ways she can't even begin to grasp. She takes him home.
Once he is healed enough to travel, Kane goes after the agent, chasing him back to war-torn London. But his journey back takes a sideways turn, forcing Elizabeth to make another choice. She follows him into the past, to help him stop one man from changing their future.
Cate Dean has been writing since she could hold a pen in her hand and put more than two words together on paper.
She grew up losing herself in fantasy worlds, and now creates her own worlds, infusing them with adventure and magic.
When she's not writing, she travels to places that inspire her, having her own adventures, and reads pretty much anything she can get her hands on.
There ~ I got the official biography out of the way. I love to write, and yes, I have been doing it most of my life. I've made up stories in my head for as long as I can remember, and I’m thrilled to be able to bring those stories to life, and share them with you.

This was an okay read. I thought it was going to be a time traveling romance. However, it turned out to be more of a sci-fi story between a girl named Elizabeth and a time traveler named Kane, who happened to fall in love. I was happy that it was a short read because I was a bit bored with the story. The world-building could have been better. Also, the characters were okay. I did not love them, nor did I dislike them. The ending was okay. I will continue the series to see what happens next. Overall, an alright read.
Terrible. There was no backstory for Elizabeth, virtually no world-building, lots of missing details, and insta-love. And it was VERY short, more like a novella than a proper book. I won't be reading anymore.
History and Art enthusiast Elizabeth was finishing up a trip to England- regretting her return home when she quite literally runs into a time traveler.... She ends up traveling with him to his time because he is injured ( he ends up getting injured a lot in this story)- meets Kane's coworkers perhaps a bit too jarringly. Plans to return to her own time but ends up following Kane to help prevent a historical catastrophe. I love historical fiction and especially those involving time travel Too little back story for Elizabeth and WTH is going on with the organization that Kane works for? What time if Kane from anyway- that is never identified although near enough for her to have a history future ( or is it future history) that is referred to.
There was potential!!! I really like time traveling stories that are well structured, and the characters were likeable.. but... This was just a quick read to get it out of the way, I kept waiting for it to trap me inside the time traveling suspense, but instead I just kept getting distracted with all these guys flirting with Elizabeth, the surprising instalove of these characters and the cheesy lines that might have been cute if there has been an actual development of the relationship between characters... There is a reason why slow burns are so attractive, and it is you need time to fall in love with the characters while they fall in love with each other, while they discover each other's good and bad stuff... And this story did not give.the characters that credible window to know each other.. not just the main characters but all of them.. so I read the book but will not continue the series.
I was told about this book and wasn't sure if I would like it as I normally read timeslip, historical and crime novels. Well needless to say I love it, there is romance, history, and crime too so what is there not to love. If this takes you out of your comfort zone then go for it you will not be disappointed. I can not wait to read the next instalment in Beth and Jackson's lives, where ever that make take them and me.
It’s an interesting yarn. I like some things about it and dislike others. It felt like it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, because we don’t know whether they get back ok and what has happened to Mac. If you like suspense this book would probably work for you. I’m not that keen on it anymore. I like my stories to have lower stakes! I did like the characters. I especially liked that Elizabeth is not a damsel in distress. She is a strong woman, very clever and a good partner to Kane.
This is a great time travel story. You feel like you are with Kane and Elizabeth with every page you turn. If you live history and time travel, this is definitely the book for you. So historically realistic and the scorching love scenes that leave you breathless are only part of the story.
Good storyline, but the most unbelievable part was how the heroine (Elizabeth) went from being a loner with anxiety attacks, to suddenly being fearless. The time travel parts were good, but the excessive sex/romance didn’t add much to the story.
I love time travels, and I really loved Final Hours (Love in Time#1). It reminds me of the TV show that I loved, Timeless, which sadly was cancelled. Elizabeth and Kane are fully developed, strong, sympathetic characters. I loved the WWII setting and the time-traveling portals. The story is exciting, suspenseful, romantic, and sexy as hell. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
Hey. I enjoyed it. ....Kind of refreshingly new in this genre. ....Good writing Cate Dean. ...looking forward to reading all the books in this series. ...Keep it up and give us something else 👏👏👏👏👏👏 I
Stayed up way past my bedtime reading this. It's well plotted with engaging characters. Yes,, it's a romance, but it doesn't get bogged down with too much nonsense. Terrific adventure story, too.
Love time travel stories, but I found this one confusing as to how & why things worked. Would have liked more info on the characters stories, and there was more sexual description than necessary ..... sometimes less is more - let our imaginations work.
This story is different. It's about time traveler and the woman who saves his life. They fall in love while trying to stop a rogue time traveler from changing the past. Too bad the time machine doesn't self fix time paradoxes like the one in futurama.
This is a good story but while it's technically not a cliffhanger, it does open scenarios that stay open at the end of the book. I recommend it but with the understanding that you will not be left completely satisfied.
As with most "time travel" books, there are always the practical questions but I found this story thoroughly entertaining. Now I have to get the next one...
Shameless ploy to get you to buy more books by leaving it on a cliffhanger. I might be tempted if it were more than just "meh." Not worth your precious reading time.
Elizabeth and Kane go back in time to stop one rogue agent from changing the results of WWII. They fail and despite their injuries they try again. This is a gripping book and hard to put down.
On a trip to London Elisabeth Barritt meets Jackson Kane a time traveler from the future who appears out of nowhere in the middle of the city through a portal right in front of her. Kane is on a mission to stop a rogue agent from changing the past and thus the future. From the moment they meet there is an immediate connection and as the story unfolds Kane and Elisabeth are forced together to save the past and in the process guarantee a chance at a future life together.
This is the first book in the ‘Love in Time’ Series. It can be read stand-alone as the plot is nicely wrapped up. However a few minor questions remain unanswered thus providing the premise for continuing the story in the next book.
This is a nice time travel romance novel with the right balance between passion and historical facts that gives it a bit more depth and makes it more interesting than your average love story. The main characters Elisabeth and Kane are well developed and their actions felt natural. The story flowed well and was captivating from the first page.
Overall this is a great read. It is light hearted and easy, perfect for a lazy summer’s day or a rainy weekend on the couch. Fans of a time travel will enjoy this book.
