Just when she thinks she’s gotten her life pieced back together, Kristine Stone wakes to a searing kiss from someone rather unexpected. This dark angel is determined to win her heart, and he refuses to play fair. This doesn’t sit well with her former lover, Kadyn Rand, who yanks the rug out from under her when he confesses that he wants to be more than just friends. She refuses to choose and gets roped into an impossible dating agreement, that she is quite certain will land her a one way ticket to hell. Amidst all this insanity, a new friend presents an exciting opportunity to work for an international organization devoted to peace-building. When Kristine joins her friend in Sevastopol to train university students in conflict resolution, she finds herself accused of being a spy by two security agencies deeply entrenched in the former KGB. A chance run-in with the Russian Mafia proves beneficial as three men from her past are forced to work together in an effort to save her life.
I live in Northern Virginia with my football-crazed husband, two beautiful daughters, and two psychotic Shih Tzus. I teach courses in international relations, peacekeeping, and human security at the American Military University. I also work as a reading tutor at my daughters’ elementary school. What can I say? I still love school.
Reading has long been my passion, so I belong to not one but two book clubs, which I fondly refer to as my “good girl bookclub” and my “bad girl bookclub.” Suffice it to say the “bad girl bookclub” is the one that decided to read Fifty Shades of Gray.
I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. In my childhood, I loved writing poetry, song lyrics, and short stories. Somehow, this morphed into supreme court briefs, government reports, congressional bills, journal articles, and op ed pieces as I grew older. And now? I’m writing romantic suspense novels. God only knows why.
Thanks for reading The Broken Series. I love hearing from my readers, so please stop by ksruff.com, drop me a note, and let me know what you thought about the books!
This book should be in the erotica or soft porn genre
That is my rating for this the complete series.. The protagonist was a victim of an abusive marriage, a coworkers sexual assault, had a stalker then was kidnapped multiple times by her stalker and a Russian mafioso... Un realistically falling in love with all of them while in the only normal committed relationship she had had. The author attempted to tie it together at the end of the series but it was not believable...As I saw it the protagonist was a woman who “loved being the victim who was rescued” This series was not horrible by any means just unrealistic and cliched..the author has talent to wev3 a story but did not know when to quit. Had it been in the soft porn or erotica genre I’d give it 5 stars however, it was not Romantic Suspense or Psych Suspense as described.

Well...I am on the last book of this series now and I can honestly say Im glad i didnt spend money on these. 1. Kri screws anything that looks at her. 2. Why is this character portrayed as an intelligent, educated woman when in fact shes a whiny, needy, clingy slut? 3. WHO gets kidnapped, raped, beaten and abused so many times? Its like this writer took 5 good stories that could have/would have been much better if written as individual books and not a series. Alas....if only Rafael was real ❤
Another love interest, another kidnapping, you’ve got to be kidding! I actually cheered when something bad happened to Kristine, again! I skimmed through 80% of this book. It just didn’t capture my interest.
In Broken Wings: The Broken Series Book 3, K.S. Ruff has written Kristine Stone's latest adventure in a scintillating, dramatic story. Kristine Stone, also known as Kri, has lost her baby and Michael has let her go. Sleepless nights and heartbreak abound. Then something seems to calm her down. Something is actually someone and his name is Rafael Garcia, Michael's brother. Rafael had been Kristine's bodyguard when she was with Michael, but it turns out that he has been protecting her and watching out for her long before she reunited with Michael. Rafael knows he loves Kristine, but he has to convince her to take a chance on him. As these two try to work out their feelings for each other, Kristine's new job sends her to the Ukraine where she is kidnapped by the KGB. It is up to Rafael, Michael and Kadyn (an ex-boyfriend) to see if they can work together and save Kristine from her latest predicament.
Before you read this book, make sure that you read K.S. Ruff's previous books in the series or you may get lost. This is the third installment in the series and, by the time I finished the book, I was annoyed by the main character. However, although annoying to me, she is very well portrayed. Her intense feelings as she navigates through the murky waters of attraction, love and friendship are depicted very well. In fact, I felt more attachment to the boyfriends than I did to her because their feelings for her, as well as their attempts and efforts to win her, were romantic and sad. If you like consistency, you'll love this book as it has similar features as its predecessors. As the plot develops, you grow to admire Kri's courage to learn and try to change the lives of others as well as her own, and then you end up rooting for the couple to be together or for her and a previous boyfriend to get back together. It doesn't leave you in suspense very often, but it does leave you questioning which couple you like best.
Broken wings picks up shortly where book two left off.
Kristine is back from Paris, heartbroken over Michael. What I loved about book two was the love that ended up blossoming between Kri and Michael. You could tell Kri was his world, and she ended up falling crazy, madly, deeply in love with Michael. He was perfect to her. Patient, loving, caring. I was so upset with him when he kicked her out. I understand that it was to save her, but he worked so hard on getting her there, and her falling in love, and ruining relationships with Kadyn. It was frustrating. I always rooted for Kadyn, but eventually Michale swooned me.
So anyways. Kri is back in the states, Kadyn is heartbroken and says he wants a friendship with her.
Kadyn went through a lot for Kri, he was always her rock until she went to Paris. So I felt for him when she sent him the letter in book two, and then in broken wings when he seen her and decided to be friends, and then later on when you find out he was giving her time to get past Michael and everything she went through, he wanted her to figure things out for herself.
Which hello, she needed time to move on from everything, but no. She jumped right into a relationship with Rafael. I loved Rafaels friendship with her throughout Paris. How could she just jump into his arms and fall in love with him?
Kri falls in love with anyone who shows her attention. Duh. Maxim. Seriouly. This was a rollercoaster.
I loved Shae. She had me laughing with her lines. Especially the scrabble game. She was a good friend. My heart still has hope for Kadyn. And then Michael shows up in the end and I was like Yessss!!! then no. The ending had me in some serious tears!
This story was very good, but I have two complaints... 1. Kri falls in love with anything with a penis. 2. Who gets kidnapped that many times in their life?
