The India Infrastructure Report 2023 (IIR 2023) is a collaborative attempt of IDFC Foundation, NIUA and iDeCK. It covers urban planning and governance, Smart Initiatives, PPPs and financing, housing, migration, public service delivery, and the redevelopment.
Practitioners, researchers and experts came together to write the 25 chapters of this report. It highlights the centrality of major reforms in urban planning, including the need to integrate land use planning with transport planning, and ULBs to be financially sustainable. The functionality of the organisation of the ULBs, and its autonomy in embedding of accountability is also highlighted. Governance reforms are crucial for value creating planning, investment and management.
