Serpents of Serant #4

The Naga Maverick's Determined Mate

Rate this book
Betrayed, I end up on a Naga-infested planet, and the golden one? He thinks he can be my knight.

Cosima

After a horrible hostage situation, I thought I was rescued, only to find myself betrayed and trapped on the next awful planet. There’s snake people here! They terrify me, and then one shows up with a freaking dragon.

When Zsekhet, the dragon rider, casts me intense looks. My whole body lights on fire. I’m not ready to move on, but he makes me determined to prove him wrong. I am strong, I am smart, and I definitely don’t need him to rescue me, or give me the pleasure I see promised in his glances.

Zsekhet

I have so many secrets, but the biggest of them all? Cosima is my mate and I’d do anything to convince her to be mine. I want to take her to the skies on my dragon and show her all the wonders of my world.

Sent to spy on the outcasts with whom she lives, I feel torn in two by dividing loyalties. But when a stalker threatens my mate, that choice becomes easy. I am hers and no one takes her from me.

This is a standalone novel, and book four in the Serpents of Serant Series. This steamy sci-fi monster romance features one Naga Spy, a troubled but determined heroine, and a steamy HEA. (Oh, and let’s not forget the dragon!)

I love the world building so much in these books and to me they keep getting better and better. The MMC is such a sweetheart and I love how respectful he is. The FMC has trauma and instead of stomping on her boundaries, he respects them and waits for her to make the first move. I can't wait to see where this next book goes thanks to the wonderful cliffhanger we get at the end.

Another fun and steamy alien romance read in this series. Zsekhet is a gleaming golden Naga and was sent to see if the group are a threat. His mission becomes more when he sees the shy traumatized Cosima and knows she is his. Wonderful worldbuilding, emotion, patience, sweetness, feathers, protectiveness, fated mate, passion, action, dragons, humor, growth, danger, and love keep you invested in their HEA.

Our fearless Cosima is a beacon of resilience. Despite the horrors she's faced, she refuses to let darkness consume her. It's inspiring to see her journey, each step forward a testament to her strength and determination. She continually pushes herself to new heights with unwavering courage. I love her.

Alongside Cosima is Zsekhet, the enigmatic dragon rider, whose attention to Cosima's needs and emotions provides a refreshing contrast to his easy-going charm. I love how Zsekhet challenged Cosima to distract her from giving in into the darkness from her past.
Since its written in first persons perspective, I always have the front seat to know what they think, and it was pretty entertaining to see how these two always crash.

Now, let's talk about the feather scene—steamy doesn't even begin to describe it! It was just a feather touching Cosima, it was so gentle, so intimate.

How about Cosima and Zsekhet's escapades in the mile-high club, dragon-style. It's moments like these that make me want to see fan art. I need to see that scene visually! God damn! It was hot! oof! That left me breathless.🥵

But what truly sets this book apart is how Robin seamlessly blends elements of lost technology ,clan politics, and fractured history with the soaring romance between Cosima and Zsekhet. The world-building is intricate yet accessible, drawing me in with each turn of the page. Another thing that stands out is how Robin brings the lead characters from the previous books into Cosima and Zsekhet's story, where they still play significant roles but never overshadow the protagonists.

And that ending! While I'm usually not a fan of cliffhangers, this one left me eagerly anticipating the next book because the cliffhanger ending doesn't overshadow the happy-ever-after of Cosima and Zsekhet as well as the growing development of the clan of Outcast Haven. The ending is like an introduction greeting for the next story, striking the perfect balance between closure and anticipation.

A special mention must go to Ses, the protective and badass dragon, who adds an extra layer of excitement to the story.

If you're a reader who loves to have the entire backstory, I would recommend reading the previous books, although yes, each book can be read as standalone.

At the beginning of this series I didn't like Cosima very much. All she did was cry and hide. To be honest, I just thought she was weak.
But during this book, she really proved herself and she is one I absolutely love. Her growth and bravery throughout this was truly magnificent and she really proved herself to be deserving and not to hide anymore. Her true strength came out and she is becoming who she was always meant to be.
Her back-story was truly heartbreaking and now, knowing that, I can understand why she was the way she was. She was fearful of the world and the people in it especially the Naga's once they crashed onto Serant.

This just goes to show to never judge a book by it's cover meaning I shouldn't have judged Cosima the way I had. But I'm so glad to have read her story.

Dear Zsekhet. So strong. So beautiful. So charming. He truly knew the moment he laid eyes on Cosima that she was his one true mate even when they hadn't touched yet to prove it.
He was so kind and patient with her. Understood that there was a deeper reason to her actions than anyone else had even thought about.
I loved how he wanted to prove himself to her and to give her all his love and patience and didn't care how long it took until they truly mated.

This story was beautiful. 😍

Those last few chapters though?! Omg. So freaking intense. I loved every moment!
In the final battle with all the dragons and Zsekhet protecting Cosima above himself and even Ses doing what he could, I was full-on panicking. I'm so glad they made it and the Queen of Zsekhet's people was so kind towards Cosima. They were so much more accepting than those of the Bitter Storm Clan.

I cannot wait for Book 5 because that ending, jeez. I need to know what happens next and who his mate is but also, the babies!!!! I can't wait for them!! 🥺😍

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Burn: 🔥🔥
Darkness Level: 🤍
Heat Rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Genre: Scifi Romance
POV: Dual
Ending: HEA

I do enjoy this series. I like that each character is so unique and that each book gives you glimpses at the HEA for the previous couples. Cosima, however, was not my favorite. I do appreciate that she was in a dark place initially, and that Zsekhet helped to push her back into being herself. But the difference between meek and scared Cosima and the passionate architect who isn’t afraid to live life was a big leap. The author put in the work to develop her character along the way, but it still just didn’t feel quite like they were the same person. Though I liked both versions of Cosima, for different reasons. The writing for this series is good, my only complaint is the tendency to have a scene from one perspective and then again from the other. I don’t mind a bit of backtracking, but it felt like there was more of it in this book. But the world she’s created of Serant continues to grow and I love it! It was so interesting to see what has become of the Bitter Storm clan. And to meet the new clan in the desert, with the little reveals about the world and its past that it brings. I will definitely be continuing this series and would other works by this author.

I received a copy of the book from the author, but my review is entirely voluntary and honest.

My shelves/tags might be considered spoilers, so look at your own risk!

another fantastic book in this series. the world building just keeps on being spectacular. so real feels like u are there.
Cosima was betrayed. kidnapped then rescued and supposed to be returned home only to be dumped on an alien planet after experiencing grief and trauma.
Zsekhet is on a spy mission to see if the outcasts are any threat to his clan but one look at Cosima and he knows she is meant to be his. however he also sees when others don't that she is traumatized, scared, isn't eating and more. so instead of just claiming her right off the bat, he watches and slowly gets closer to her trying to bide his time doing special little things for her to gain her trust. eventually he finds out what she has suffered and is very patient and understanding of her needs delaying his own wants to put her first while still being a strong and protective naga. Cosima comes to realize that he has her back in all ways and that it might be ok to love again after suffering loss, but things aren't that easy for them to find their way to each other. There are dangers on this planet that interfere and other warring clans to be dealt with.
Cosima slowly learns to be strong again and stand her ground fighting for what she wants instead of staying in her trauma.
This is a story of acceptance of the past, acceptance of a new and different future, of love, understanding, hope, friendship, commitment, and so much more. This is an emotion packed story as each one in this series is that will leave u cheering them on, living the story with them and enthralled on how it will work out in the end.
a highly recommended series that can be read alone but is much better read in order to get the full effect.
I received an arc copy and this is my honest voluntary review.

The Naga Maverick's Determined Mate is the fourth book of the Serpents of Serant series by Robin O'Connor.

I *think* this book could be read as a standalone, however, I wouldn't recommend it. There has been a lot going on in this alien world that was covered previously and previous knowledge probably would help for context when it comes to understanding the Naga clans and how the Outcast Haven clan lives.

In this book we are introduced to yet another clan (and therefore different coloured scales/skin) of the Naga species. A group of humans mysteriously crash land on an alien planet - for various reasons that we find out in each book. And now that they are on this planet, they are finding fated mates among the Naga. Naga are interesting, they were a species that rejected technology and instead of being at peace with other clans, there's fighting instead.

Here, we discover the tragic background of human woman Cosima, who has been someone mentioned in passing and an enigma until now. She isn't looking for love or mating, and she has a lot to come to terms with when she meets the golden scaled Naga, Zsekhet, as well as Zsekhet's dragon companion, Ses. He recognises Cosima as his mate, however, where Cosima's past is tragic, Zsekhet's is complicated.

The story of Cosima and Zsekhet is complicated. These are characters with depth and there are many moving parts within their story. This gives for wonderful chemistry between the human and the serpent alien and makes their story a very satisfying one to read. There are clues for more books and I can't wait.

Naga Zsekhet (H) flies in on his dragon, Sesethul, just as the Bitter Storm Naga attack the outcasts’ settlement and after offering his aid, claims to have been cast out from the Serqethos clan, when he’s been sent on a reconnaissance mission by his queen. He soon scents Cosima (h) and knows that the reclusive woman is mean to be his, but he’ll have his work cut out for him since she spends most of her time initially hiding in the cave. Cosima struggles with the new life she’s been thrust into amongst the outcast community of naga and humans, even as she tries to process her past traumas and losses. Zsekhet may not be able to communicate with her due to their language differences, but he seems to understand her nonetheless and is patient, caring, and protective as he allows her to set the pace for their relationship. He sparks Cosima’s spiritual healing as she gradually opens herself up in the way she dresses, learning self-defense skills, rediscovering her love of architecture, and sharing details of her past with him. Zsekhet’s relationship with Sesethul was an interesting aspect too and provided for some interesting interactions for Zsekhet and Cosima. I enjoy seeing the different dynamics within each of the Naga clans that drive the storyline, and the time with the Serqethos clan was interesting, particularly with the hidden tech. Hot and steamy naga-human fated mates romance with lots of action, adventure, interesting characters, great worldbuilding, and more. A standalone with a much richer reading experience if read as part of the series.

The Naga Maverick’s Determined Mate by Robin O’Connor
Serpents of Serant #4

Another great addition to this alien romance series that sees two deserving characters find their perfect mate.

What I liked:
* Cosima: human female, survivor, betrayed by her country, captured, tortured, abandoned on a foreign planet, bright, grieving, fearful, comes out of her shell and grows through the story
* Zsekhet: from a desert clan of golden snake-like aliens, sent by his queen to find out if the Outcast group are a threat, orphaned as a child, bonded to a dragon in childhood, knows Cosima is his mate
* Sesethul: big beautiful dragon bonded with Zsekhet, protective, lethal, influential, would like to know more about dragons on this planet and what their habits and qualities are
* Zsekhet’s patience in wooing Cosima
* The way the Seqethos Clan came together to thwart those that tried to harm Zsekhet and Cosima – wonder if they will appear in the future and their queen will find her mate
* Getting to see the other couples, finding out how the group is doing as they build their new enclave, and thinking about how the many male outcasts will find mates of their own
* The hints at potential books to come
* All of it except…

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Aser: King of the Bitter Storm Clan – wonder if he will be taken down in the future

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Definitely

Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

So I almost gave up on this series but went back, and I did enjoy this book the most. There was a drastic improvement in the smexy times, and the story made a bit more sense.

But this world is COMPLICATED. There are clans. There is a post apocalyptic vibe with aliens living in the remnant of a fallen society. There are zombies. There are violent robots. There's leader uprisings and politics and slavery. There's apparently aliens in statis. And it's really very unclear when this societal collapse happened or how some things still are able to work/have power but it's been long enough everyone has forgotten everything, like not one of the naga seems to have any passed down knowledge of how things worked or what their society looked like. It's a lot for what is an erotic romance series, but the storylines were still manageable to keep me interested enough to come back to.

I liked the whole "how to train your dragon" vibe with this tribe, and the Hero was a fun character but a lot was explained so briefly when it seemed big. The whole blood lust thing, the fact he has family, his childhood, his relationship with the Queen, etc. It's all brushed over and I guess that was more interest to me that some of the other things. The final fight at the end seems unnecessary, and the fact that the Hero was so confident everything would be perfect and it was clearly not didn't make sense since it seemed he was in the inner circle.

The heroine was interesting if not a little dramatic, her story was well fleshed out and she showed a good character arch I think.

4.5 stars. Cosima, the female human lead, is on an alien planet because she was betrayed by her human government - they told her they were transporting her back to Earth. Still reeling from grief, she’s trying to cope in literally alien circumstances.

Zsekhet, the male Naga lead, has been sent as a spy to see what Cosima’s clan is doing - his clan was attacked in the past by a coordinated group of Outcasts and they need to know if that’s a risk now. But Zsekhet is sure that Cosima is his mate. He’s also sure she’s not ready to be recognised as such and he’s determined to give her everything she needs.

But there are real threats to their clan. And they are still trying to negotiate space on the planet.

This story is dual POV, well written, and a great continuation of this sci fi romance series. I genuinely appreciated the author’s handling of Cosima’s genuine and reasonable grief. I loved the sensitivity that Zsekhet showed and appreciated how he helped Cosima’s companions to help her as well. I enjoyed the relationship development and the building intimacy. I enjoyed Zsekhet’s bonded dragon companion and enjoyed the way he built a relationship with Cosima as well. I enjoyed the secondary character integration and the way this series builds on itself. Whilst the romance can be enjoyed alone, the non-romance plot is best enjoyed as part of the series.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

The next instalment of Serpents of Serant follows a warrior from a new tribe, a female heroine struggling with anxiety and dragons! This was a wonderful addition to the series, action and adventure filled, with wonderful characters. The world building continues to develop fantastically and I loved the new inclusions and characters.

Zsekhet is from a far-off tribe who was initially sent to spy and assess the risks of the outlaw tribe. On arrival, (On a dragon!) he immediately recognises one of the human females as his fated mate, even without a visual confirmation, in his heart he knows she belongs with him. Cosima, was betrayed by her people after losing everything. She is not ready to move on with her life, and is desperately hiding her ongoing anxiety. Zsekhet is prepared to give his little mate all the time she needs to accept him, his patience and acceptance was wonderful to read. Cosima finds herself drawn to the new Naga despite her grief and initial reluctance. However, life continues even when we are not sure we are ready. Together they overcome challenges, from other Nagas, tribes and themselves.

I can’t wait to read the next instalment. Each book adds to the storyline so to have me waiting eagerly for the next one. This author is now a one-click buy for me.

A Whole New Definition for the Mile High Club!

The Naga Maverick’s Determined Mate is book 4 in the Serpents of Serant series and Ohhhh boy, a Naga with a feather, what could be anymore sssensual, ssstimulating and sssublime!

Zsekhet is a gleaming golden Naga. A sly, sleuthing spy who sneaks his way into the heart of Cosima a shy, skittish and spirited human female stranded on Serant. Add in a lot of drama, action, adventure and moments that made me chuckle, scream and swoon and you have the best book yet in the series! And, I loved the little tease at the end about the next book.

Oh and let’s not forget the dragon… Sesethul, the magnificent golden dragon in all his ssshimmery golden scaled glory, with his strength, puppy like antics and fierce loyalty. Where can I get a dragon of my own? Along with a Naga of course.

If you love alien romance filled with thrills and suspense, passion and found family with fated mates and a happily ever after The Serpents of Serant series is for you! It’s a fantastic binge read and don’t forget to start with the prequel novella The Naga Hunter’s Lost Mate.

Cosima and Zsekhet’s Story . . .

Cosima seems to have no control over her curiosity. She hears activity outside the cave entrance and a shadow blocks out the sun. Instead of moving further into hiding inside the cave, she positions herself to look up to see what might be above them and spots an actual golden dragon, later identified as Sesethul, in a black harness… with a rider on his back!

Cosima was numb with fear, with her thoughts returning to the dark cell she had spent months in and the murder of her fiancé. The torture, rescue, then betrayal by the government, all of this filled her mind. The dragon rider, Zsekhet, a golden Naga, had been sent by the queen to spy and find out if this group would present a threat to them. But Zsekhet was a surprise to her when he is actually gentle and able to help her begin to get over the horrible things that had happened to her. Will Zsekhet’s patient manner persuade Cosima to trust him and agree to become his mate? Will he protect her from danger? Does Zsekhet get to decide if he wants to stay with them, or must he instead return to his own group when his mission ends?

Quite a lovely read :) I love how sweet this love story was, it will certainly make you swoon. I liked the depth of the characters with all the different personalities and the trauma the main character had. People don’t often talk about the pain and struggle that comes with having gone through trauma. So I liked that I could relate to the main character. (Not for the same reason of course. But to trauma.) It’s cool having so many different types of naga. Plus it helps create a visual picture in your mind of who is who. I love the detail that flows throughout the entire book. Plus there were many realistic aspects that you do not find in other books. One of the ones I liked seeing was the wisdom with the part where they are aware outcasts could be bad people or good people and you cannot just assume. No matter where people are from there are going to be good AND bad people. I loved seeing the rag tag group really coming together and working together despite being from different areas, exiled for different things. Every aspect pulled together really made it such a great read!.

Another captivating story by Robin O’Connor. This is the fourth addition to the Serpents of Serant series.
Cosima is a human survivor of the crash on Serant. She is haunted by her past traumatic experience and the death of her fiancée. She was betrayed again with the fake rescue that put her in this predicament.
Now she sees the other women from the wreck have found their Naga mates. She will not touch any of the Naga warriors to see if they are her mate. She has lost her love.
Zsekhet has come to the outcast Naga settlement to spy for his Queen. He needs to make sure they are not a threat to his Naga tribe. There he finds his fated mate. However, Cosima is so reserved and resistant to the concept of fated mates. He must tread lightly with Cosima. He must earn her trust.
Great story that has espionage, Naga warriors, humans, dragons, fated mates, earning trust, dealing with past trauma, acceptance, perseverance, and HEA.

Cosima watched her fiance die to save her. Then spent a year in a jail. She is too scared to go outside but tries to do it once a day. Then Zsekhet and his dragon arrive. Now she's really scared and not wanting to go out. But he's been watching her. From the moment he saw her his mission became her. Then after one terrifying moment where several naga tried to hold her and touch her she decided to learn how to defend herself. She's trying to come back from her trauma but she still misses her fiance. Then she goes for a midnight stroll and finds what she thinks is a greenhouse. This would be great to grow vegetables and maybe make a kitchen area. The other women are all for it. The only downside is how is Zsekhet going to get her to touch him so she will realize they are mates. Then there's the naga that held her against her will. He is still out there.
Another fantastic read in this series.

Gleeful Goblin Review: This is probably the most tongue in cheek devil-may-care book in the series so far and I had a lot of fun with it. For the most part I feel like our prior MMC's have been more stoic and serious males comparatively so reading about Zsekhet and his big personality, dragon riding antics was a fun change up. Having him be a little extra in some ways also made for a lovely counterpoint in how he comes to understand and care for Cosima who is having an understandably hard time adjusting to life on this very different world and dealing with the difficult loss of a loved one in the not too distant past. I also really liked getting to know Cosima because while she's more introverted and outwardly reserved she has a rich inner monologue and depth to her life and backstory that I really connected to. Overall, a super lovely addition this series. 5/5 Stars.

What an enjoyable book this was and I loved how everyone came together to make a life for themselves on Serant and this is Zsekhet and Cosima’s story. Cosima is a human that’s on Serant and lives in the Haven community with Nags and human but after everything that happened she doesn’t trust anybody and mostly stays be herself and rarely leaves the caves but when a new Golden Naga and his Dragon show up she is drawn to him but her fear keeps her away from him. Zsekhet is a naga dragon rider that’s been sent to spy on the Haven Community and make suer they are no threat but what he never expected to find was is fated Mate in the human Cosima who he can sense the trauma and unease coming off her but he will do anything for his mate but there is one that wants what is his but when he saves her it brings them closer together. How does it all turn out and do they get there HEA or not.

This author has an amazing ability to create new worlds with depth, intrigue and charm. Each book can be read as a standalone but is better enjoyed as part of a series.

Zsekhet is a charismatic, capable individual perfectly suited to the role his queen has assigned him. However, one look at the beautiful, flame haired female and his priorities change.

Cosima has been trapped in a dark place following her experiences before being abandoned on this planet. Hiding from life it takes the introduction of the cheerful and gentle naga to help her break free.

This is a fantastic addition to the series and is as fast paced and engaging as the others. It has plenty of action, adventure, danger, discovery, emotional growth and heaps of passion. Always a thoroughly enjoyable treat to get a new book by this author and can't wait for the next in the series.

A naga dragon rider?! Who doesn’t love a dragon?

A great story with different twist and turns, ups and downs, and so much passion. Not to mention the spice was on point. Flying action and romance in the air puts a whole new meaning to mile high. 😍🥵😍 This series just gets better all the time.

Zsekhet and Cosima... I really enjoyed their story. I was worried about Cosima's story and which way it would go, but now understand why all the crying. All it took was a spy to help her grow and start living again. Zsekhet came in with a bang riding in on a freaking dragon. A dragon!?! He was sent by his queen to spy on the new clan of outcasts. When Zsekhet sees Cosima he sees her sees her. He feels the mateing pull but he sees that she's dealing with something from her past. He has so much patience with her but will do anything and everything to help her mission be damned.

Beautiful HEA but leaves you on a cliffhanger for the next book and I can't wait to read it. 🥰

MMC Zsekhet knows how to make an entrance when he arrives at the outcast camp on the back of his dragon Sesethul.
Sent to determine if the group are a threat or not his mission becomes complicated when he sees MFC Cosima amongst the clan, and his mate vibes ignite.
The Naga Maverick’s Determined Mate is another excellent story and book four in the series which I enjoyed, especially for the introduction of the dragon rider clan to the storyline.
Cosima has traumas from her past that have been hindering her and Zsekhet can sense it which makes him determined to heal her as well as making her his mate.
There is plenty of action, adventure, intrigue, steam, and world building powering the narrative as well as solidly good writing that continues to bring me back each time a new story is released!.

'My primary mission now became secondary, this flame-haired beauty had instantly become my priority, no matter what. And I knew in my bones, she always would be.'

I am so in love with this world and so happy to see a new addition pop up. This one is my favorite so far! Great world building and wonderful characters. I was hooked right from the start. I loved Zsekhet immediately- he made quite the entrance! And I only grew to love him more after seeing how he interacted with Cosima. Her past is a sad one and I liked how he respected her boundaries and needs rather than to push for his own. Their chemistry was hot- that feather scene delicious. And I loved that he kept and treasured it! *swoon* Zsekhet's dragon, Sesethul, was awesome! Also loved the supporting characters. Need the next book! 5 stars.

I love monster romance and the naga hold a special soft spot in my heart. Reading the Naga Maverick’s Determined Mate brought together my love of naga, romance, and dragons! The FMC, Cosima, is still dealing with her traumatic past and working through the different stages of grief. In an effort to protect herself, she tries to alienate herself from social gatherings. Her best laid plans are put to the test when the MMC, Zsekhet, arrives. Zsekhet’s determination to protect, understand and win over Cosima was the best part of the book for me. He truly accepted her how she is and where she is in her journey. The story was complex and detailed and showed just how much the author has put into the defining narrative of each of the different group of naga and the world they all live in. I will be adding more of the author’s work to my to be read list.

I recieved an ARC copy of the book and I am leaving my review voluntarely

This was the first book I read fromt he saga, and while I can confirm it can be read as a standalone, I think I would have enjoyed it way more if I was more involved in the series. It felt a bit cold for me and lacking details that dragged me into the story, most likely they are already described in previous books.

This is my personal opinion on the book, how it personally makes me feel, I'm not talking about the quality of the writing or characters itself here, because that is perfectly present in the book. My recommendation would be not to try to attack it as a standalone and enjoy the whole story from the beginning

I love this series so much action, great detail with fantastic characters so clearly captured your heart pounds. Cosima is heartbreaking so much pain, loss and suffering, betrayal and grief. I love Zsekhet, he’s a gold Naga warrior who rides the dragon Sesethul, his clan sent him to investigate this new clan of Naga and humans. The instant he sees Cosima hiding at cave entrance he knows he has found his mate, but he must go slow, he sees her pain and must protect and help heal her heart. They have challenges, misunderstandings, surprises, battles and dangers to face, before their happy ever after. I loved every spellbinding second of this book, can’t wait for next book.

Action packed, fated mate, tons of wonderful characters, plenty of danger and adventure, steamy, happily-ever-mated. Love this story.
Cosima is a human woman that has traumatized by event just a year ago. Still grieving over her childhood sweetheart/ best friend murder right in front of her. No one asked her of her story and just tolerated her fearfully, crying, shying away behavior. Zsekhet, a dragon riding naga male, saw Cosima and knew she was his mate. He saw the hurt and trauma no one else saw. He was patient with her but he also challenged her. Together they will set out on a journey that will bring them together and also strengthen their clan.

I highly enjoyed reading this story about Cosima and Zsekhet. Cosima been hiding in the cave because she doesn't want to be chosen as a mate but when a dragon riding snake man comes to their colony and singles her out, hiding becomes harder. Zsekhet was sent by his queen to see if the new colony of outcasts is a threat. Zsekhet arrives riding his dragon hoping to be accepted among the group. He spies Cosima who lights him up. Can Zsekhet persuade Cosima to become his mate? Will Zsekhet stay with the group or return to his tribe? The characters: Cosima, Zsekhet and our dragon Sesethul are engaging and likable, the storyline is entertaining with its drama and action, and their chemistry and romance was sizzling in this enjoyable copy I'd received and volunteer to review.
