Zane and Rivers story was absolutely great! From the pretend marriage and later as pretending to be engaged it was action and hot. I could not put this book down, from page one to the end it had everything so much heat, action and definitely a HEA. Great job Charissa so looking forward to our next story and new series.

Absolutely loved this book. A fake marriage that lasted a year. Excellent start to this book. River and Zane had previously worked undercover and ended up going their separate ways. River thinks Zane is dead but when Zane’s computer is hacked he knows that River is the only one that can help him and reaches out for his help. Thereafter the action is fast and furious with lots of misunderstandings but the chemistry between them, ignites the page. Loved the fact that River is a strong independent woman and can hold her own with him and the team. Great read.

I love all of Charissa’s books, but I have to say that Zane may’ve nudged out my other book boyfriends of hers. Maybe it’s his unapologetic confidence, or the way he falls for River. Could be the dirty talking, or his commanding ways…. I’m not sure. I just know that something about him nudged him into the lead. And that’s saying something, because all of her heroes are hot. But this boy turned up the heat to broil!
Then there’s River. I love strong, kick-a$$ heroines who can stand up to their men, and she fits that to a T. Her and Zane are perfect together, and as far as their chemistry goes … seriously, you need to have ice packs ready!
As in all her books, there’s Charissa’s trademark on-the-edge-of-your-seat action with a fast-paced story that’ll keep you turning the pages.
Definitely recommend this one if you want a steamy, thrilling adventure and an awww inspiring romance.
Then there’s River. I love strong, kick-a$$ heroines who can stand up to their men, and she fits that to a T. Her and Zane are perfect together, and as far as their chemistry goes … seriously, you need to have ice packs ready!

There is nothing Charissa Gracyk writes that isn’t pure gold and Zane’s story is no different. I have read every single book she’s written and honestly they just get better and better.
I love everything about this series. Ryland and Gray’s stories were so compelling and addictive, I just knew this book was going to blow me away and Charissa didn’t disappoint. In fact, she knocked it right out of the park!!
Zane is a fantastic character. He’s calm and in control, he’s teasing and funny, he’s focussed and determined, he’s strong and capable, a definite alpha dominating and protective man, he’s also as delicious as a jar of Nutella!!
Watching the ease in which Zane and River settled into their work together, each trusting in their teamwork, despite the overwhelming chemistry between them, maybe that’s what allowed their bond to sink deep into their souls.
Zane is a man focussed on bringing those who mean him and his team harm. The camaraderie between them all is heartfelt and true. Their dedication infallible. Their focus unwavering.
River is a kickass character. She has a backbone of steel. Not only can she rival anyone on a tech level but she’s also a top notch operator, more than capable of holding her own whatever situation she finds herself in.
River is a fine example of how women can thrive in what is seen predominantly as a man’s world. River has not only succeeded, she’s thrived. But what I loved was the way that Zane and the guys treated her as an equal, they included her, involved her in the decision making process and deferred to her when needed. It’s so refreshing to see alpha men who can kick ass in their sleep, accept a woman into their midst and treat her with the respect and camaraderie due to a fellow comrade without her gender entering into the equation.
The chemistry between Zane and River is off the charts and shows absolutely no sign of dwindling. The sparks between them enough to illuminate the night sky like the fireworks on New Years. Absolutely spellbinding.
Charissa Gracyk has once again delivered a phenomenal read. A book full of depth and emotion. A compelling and heart racing read that will leave your lady bits standing to attention and your heart racing.

Zane is an intense hit! Gracyk took it up a notch with Zane and River’s reunion. I love how they reconnected emotionally immediately, but the tension, chemistry, and sexual energy continued to build up. It’s so good when they finally give in to temptation!
Outwardly, Zane has a brash attitude full of smirks and bravado. Inside is a man who is still devoted to River, even after years apart. His nickname for her shows how he felt about her then and how he continues to do so now. Don’t be fooled by his pretty face and brain. He’s as capable as any of the other members of Ex Nihilo. And he’s a cuddler!
River is strong and smart, but she has an insecure side that stopped her from committing to Zane years ago. Her insecurities are personal, not professional. Gracyk does not shy away from writing about women like River with a deep military background. That fact makes her an equal to anyone else on the team, and they can trust her to have their backs.
I prefer to read books with couples who are passionate about each other and have a genuine partnership. Zane and River are a pair that work well and have a connection that is more than physical. They are well matched in the bedroom and out because of how much they trust each other. They both have a sentimental side that only the other brings out.

Another Thrilling Adventure, Another Fantastic Love Story!
Zane is another incredible installment in the Force Protection Delta series! I love Zane and River's story. They were always meant to be together. Having worked as an undercover team five years prior, posing as a married couple to infiltrate a terrorist ring, they have unfinished business with each other. Both look upon the other as "the one who got away". When Zane's computer is hacked, he knows the only one who can help him is River. Imagine her surprise when she hears from him, since she thought he was dead.
These characters are fantastic! Zane is the group's computer guru, but he's so much more than that. He's sweet and charming and a tough, formidable member of the team. River is incredibly smart and a tech genius, but she is also a skilled and badass addition to the group. Zane and River have such incredible chemistry together! Their second-chance love story might be my new favorite.
I always look forward to a new book by Charissa Gracyk! I know I am in for a hot and steamy story with a sexy-as-sin hero, a fierce heroine, the best found-family, and a thrilling adventure I won't want to put down. Zane did not disappoint! I already can't wait for Ms. Gracyk's next book.

Book 3 in the Force Protection Delta series is all about Zane and River, two operatives with insane hacker skills who, five years ago, were on assignment as a married couple for 12 months, in Yemen. They clicked straight away, the chemistry burning bright, the temptation and attraction always there, simmering right below the surface but they never acted on it and at the end, River's fears surfaced and despite Zane’s desire for them to stay together, they parted.
Now, Zane has called River in to help him and the team, and that overwhelming need for the other picked up right where they left off.
Ms. Gracyk writes stories full of action and while these two fall in love and sort out their personal relationship, they careen from one 'keep you on the edge of your seat' action sequence to another.
This story proceeds at a cracking pace, the action breathtaking, the love steamy; I was hard pressed to put it down until I got to the end, all major players intact.
Looking forward to the next adventure and the continuation of the overall story.

I loved this heart pounding second chance story between Zane and River! The chemistry has been simmering for years and boy does it come to an head in the most spectacular and edge of your seat way!!!!
I’m not going to give away anything else because this needs to be experienced by each reader to fully appreciate the brilliantly written work of Gracyk!

From the first page, it is non-stop thrills that don't give you time to catch your breath. The crazy tension between Zane and River has you on the edge and when it finally snaps, you can feel it melt away.
This series keeps getting better with each book. The secrets they uncover, the intense situations they find themselves in and the love they find on the way.
There's more books to come and I cannot wait to dive into the secrets of The Agency and of Inda, Nik and Braxton. I know those three have deep, dark secrets and I'm dying to know what they are.

I’m in love with hot, protective, dominant Zane! But he’s carrying a torch for River, his fake wife, for a year, five years ago. She matches and maybe exceeds his hacking and computer skills, is beautiful, stubborn and everything he wants. When Zane has some cipher dude breach his firewalls he calls River for help and she comes running. They have unfinished business and danger is headed their way. This book is super steamy and I love the chemistry these two have. You don’t want to miss out on this one.

River and Zane have a history and 5 years ago they lived posed as husband and wife for an assignment. They had a mutual attraction but didn’t act on it then.

Charissa Gracyk has a gift for storytelling. She hooks you into her stories from the very beginning. Zane and River bring the action and steamy romance and keeps your heart racing. You fall in love with these characters over and over again. I love how the other characters from her previous books are all intermingled into the lives of the current characters. This book was a solid 10, I couldn’t put it down!

Absolutely loved this book. I have read all of Charissa’s books and they only get better with each one. Incredible writing and a story that has all the feels.

From the very beginning you are hooked, and what an adventure. The storyline flows smoothly and the intrigue is perfectly done! River and Zane are perfectly matched. It may of taken a bit to get there, but once they figured it out it was pure magic. Definitely five stars!! Looking forward to the next book in this series.

Another action packed steamy romance from Charissa Gracyk! I love that she writes series that center around friends that function as found families. I enjoy the antics and banter of this group while they work together to rid the world of evil! Pick this up if you love a fast paced, suspenseful romance!

What to say about the book I had been waiting semi patiently for Charissa to write, going in I had high expectations for Zane and River because ya know Zane is my boy, and did she ever deliver-she gave me what I expected and so much more- the banter, the steam, the action, the anticipation, the well written characters, this would have been a 24 hr read if I hadn’t intentionally dragged it out because I didn’t want it to end, I loved everything about it, this one is my top read of the year so far as well as my top Charissa book, everyone needs to read it!!

I was immediately drawn into the story and didn’t want it to end. I loved it!
Both Zane and River are amazing characters and they are absolutely perfect together!
What I love about the author is the way she writes. The characters are well developed and it feels like you really know them. Great plot and a hot romance with sparks flying!

One thing I can always count on Charissa Gracyk for: her stories will accelerate my heart rate and keep me turning pages way past my bedtime. And I definitely did not want to put Zane down for anything. The third book in Gracyk’s Force Protection Delta series brought the heat, it brought heart, it brought humor, and it is absolutely fantastic!
Building on the series-spanning suspense, Gracyk brings Zane his HEA in the form of an unexpected but absolutely ideal second chance. River is smart and sassy, independent and intelligent, and the perfect match for Zane. And beyond proving he’s got what it takes to be River’s forever man, Gracyk builds in numerous opportunities for Zane to prove himself as more than just a cybergeek. I expected the cocky hacker to have field skills and carry that determination into the team’s ultimate mission, but I did not anticipate how incredibly swoony he would be as he worked to show River just how right they were for each other. Between the heart-pounding, fast-paced action, this couple seriously brought the heat.

4.5 stars! I love these romantic suspense stories, fast paced, exciting, spicy, quick reads that are worth every second. With River and Zane, we get something slightly different than most of the other books, a hint of a very sweet and sêxy second chance romance and an FMC that can more than hold her own in Zane’s world, because she’s also a part of it.
In a nutshell, their history consists of a year pretending to be married to take down terrorist cells in the Middle East, building a close friendship, which stayed that way up until the day it almost didn’t, him laying his heart on the line asking for more, and her getting scared and walking away. From that point, neither of them has been able to fully move on from the other, perpetually comparing everyone they ever date to them, and missing the friendship that they lost. But when Zane finds himself in a position where he knows he needs help, he decides to call the only person he knows who is possibly a better hacker than himself, River. And River can’t say know to the chance to see Zane again, even if she tells herself she doesn’t want anything more from him.
This book is an action packed, roller coaster ride of events that will have you on the edge of your seat. The chemistry/romance between Zane and River is fantastic, sweet and saucy, fun and flirty, and obvious to everyone around them except themselves. Well maybe except for Zane, because he decides pretty quickly he wants to take another shot at the woman who got away. And the suspense plot that is interwoven here continues to get more and more interesting, more players coming onto the field, familiar ones coming back to cause trouble, and all of it fully engrossing. This is a great series, and I’m excited for more to come!

From that point, neither of them has been able to fully move on from the other, perpetually comparing everyone they ever date to them, and missing the friendship that they lost. But when Zane finds himself in a position where he knows he needs help, he decides to call the only person he knows who is possibly a better hacker than himself, River. And River can’t say know to the chance to see Zane again, even if she tells herself she doesn’t want anything more from him.
This book is an action packed, roller coaster ride of events that will have you on the edge of your seat. The chemistry/romance between Zane and River is fantastic, sweet and saucy, fun and flirty, and obvious to everyone around them except themselves. Well maybe except for Zane, because he decides pretty quickly he wants to take another shot at the woman who got away. And the suspense plot that is interwoven here continues to get more and more interesting, more players coming onto the field, familiar ones coming back to cause trouble, and all of it fully engrossing. This is a great series, and I’m excited for more to come!

I have loved all of Charissa Grayck’s stories and every one is my favorite. Zane is no different, this is my new favorite.
Zane and River posed as a married couple 5 years ago and at the end of the assignment Zane wanted more, but River walked away, breaking his heart. Fast forward and Zane needs her hacking skills so he sets aside his feelings to help the team.
Zane and River chase leads, trying to find who hacked Zane’s computer and why. Then an assassin hired by the Agency is chasing them, searching for retaliation for the death of her brother by Gray. They also start to feel the attraction between them grow, but River is afraid to trust the bond between them.
Grayck has given us another fast-paced suspense story as the Ex Nihilo team continues to search for the members of the “Agency” to eliminate them before the team is eliminated.
Zane can be read as a stand-alone but in order to understand all the storylines, I recommend you start with “Ryland” and read the series.
I would give more than 5 stars if I could!!

You know you're reading a great author when each new book continues to draw you in, continues to keep you entertained, continues to keep you wanting more.
Zane is book 3 and I dare say it's my favorite yet. What a great read for a second chance, fake marriage, romantic military-ish suspense. Zane and River's story has it all. Pulse pounding suspense as they continue to take down The Agency coupled with thigh throbbing schmexiness that is Zane and River once they finally give in! Zane is the epitome of what I'd love in a partner. Not only is he a total tech geek, but he's funny, he's sexy, and he has a great personality. Ahhh Charissa, if you could just snap your fingers and materialize him for me ;)

River never expected to hear from Zane , since she was sure he had died. Now he needs her to go undercover with him as his “wife”.
From that moment on the mission becomes more dangerous than expected. But taking down The Agency is a priority.
Can they do it? Are they stronger together? Will they survive the danger? If so, will the make believe become a reality when their feelings are revealed?

Le sigh: River was the one who got away! Zane and River worked together undercover as part of Black Squadron (read: she is a bad a$$ in her own right) and she walked away when Zane professed his interest in continuing a relationship. 5 years later, she thinks he is dead. When Zane's computer system is hacked, River is the only one he would concede is better than he is, and he reaches out for her help. As Ex Nihilo continues to move against the agency, a crazy assassin bent on revenge has her eyes on the ladies of Ex Nihilo and will stop at nothing to exact punishment for the death of her brother. As with all of Charissa's books, this one moves fast and furious! I loved these characters. River is just as messed up and conflicted as Zane, and watching them find their way back to each other was a beautiful thing. Highly recommend this one! 12/10!

When IT tech, Zane gets hacked he needs expert help fast, so calls ex black squadron partner, River.
These two had a connection spanning back 5 years but had grown from familiarity into intensity. They really did play off each other and were so good for each other, because of their similar interests primarily.
The team spirit was certainly there also but that also helped to bring out the closeness between both of them. But I really enjoyed the others both couples and singles and can't wait for Inda's story. Was hoping she'd be next.
So well done and in many ways a unique and satisfying book with wonderful characters and great plot. I truly loved it!!!

Another Ex Nihilo man down…and it’s a crash landing for Zane.
Love not really lost, more missed out on due to self doubt, bad history and fear on Rivers part, and stubbornness on Zane’s part.
However, given the chance our boy doesn’t let the grass grow under his feet and pursues River with determination and using his bad boy seduction moves.
The series storyline progresses nicely here with known enemies recurring and bringing the danger and intrigue, as well as new baddies (and possible love interests 🥰) into the Force Protection world.
Lose yourself in this book and you won’t regret it

The steam ratchets up with the suspense in the story. This is a fast-paced book with a dynamic cast of side characters that you can root for.

Delayed but not forgotten
Zane/Banshee and River/RL/Honeybee. Fake marriage five years ago and now back for a second chance of working together and nag real relationship. Add in the danger of assassins, the agency, a father who is lacking in the dad arena, and new finds of possible agency members this story has Zane and River running the gamut of danger in both physical and technological manners. The ending is sweet for them and with a bit of a tease for Bruja/Inda, and maybe a hint of something to come with Rips sister?!?! This is a good series and I can’t wait for the next story!
