Tigerclaw's fury: 2/5
And I am being generous, as it was quite previsible

Leafpool's wish: 5/5
I love this tale. I have always loved Leafpool and Squirrelfight story of "shared" kits, and Jaykit has always been one of my favorite cats. So yeah, not ashamed to say my eyes watered more than once while reading this novella.

Dovewing's silence:1'5/5
Not that the reason behind Dovwing, Jayfeather and Lionblaze losing their powers wasn't nice to know, or how the cats were cooing after the Blood War and after the schism opened between those cats who went to the Dark Forest and the rest wasn't sth that needed addressing and fixing, but I think it could have been done with lesser pages.

Total Stars: 3'5-4 Just because Leafpool's tale is SO worth it.

Okay, first of all, I read this book in backward order (meaning I began with Dovewing's Silence and ended with Tigerclaw's Fury instead of vice versa), due to my younger brother's command (because somehow the little kid has caught up to his sister and is taking on the same path as her), and at first, I was irritated with his demand and couldn't see the point of reading the book backward. Turns out I'm really glad he did, or else I probably would have rated this book lower and maybe even given up on it.

Following that note, Dovewing's Silence, in my opinion, is the story in this collection that is worth reading above any other. Leafpool's Wish comes close, but not quite.

For all of you who cried at the end of The Last Hope , be prepared to cry again. Dovewing's Silence pretty much dug up my old wounds from The Last Hope, but I think at the same time, it also gave me much-needed closure. I got to see Dovewing accept that Tigerheart is not meant for her and finally give her much-desired attention to Bumblestripe (I seriously spent the entity of Omen of the Stars yelling at Dovewing to stop being a mouse-brain and go with Bumblestripe; he's so goofy and adorable, and maybe he doesn't have the "bad boy" appeal Tigerheart obviously holds, but seriously. Bad boys are overrated).

I was able to learn about the hardships that nearly broke ThunderClan from the inside out due to trust issues. I cried so hard when Sorreltail died; she and Brackenfur have always personally been one of my favourite cat couples, and it was so hard to see them painfully separated.

On the other hand, it was good to see my other favourite cat couple, Lionblaze and Cinderheart, able to finally be together with Lionblaze's immortality gone. Even though it pained me to see the invincible golden warrior hurt by something as stupidly simple as a thorn, there's something calming in knowing that the Clans have come to a time of peace where the Big Three's powers are no longer necessary.

And I'm sure Bramblestar will be a great leader. All the tears I shed while reading Dovewing's Silence speak a great deal, seeing as I rarely cry, and the fact that a book about cats can provoke more tears from me than human stories is kind of incredible. Enough said.

Leafpool's Wish was slightly less satisfying following the untouchable light of Dovewing's Silence, but nevertheless, it was still pleasing to read.

I think some part of me resents Leafpool and Crowfeather, after all this time. They've always been a difficult couple for me to associate emotions with. Sometimes I really love them and wish they could've ran off and been together forever, and sometimes I resent them because they should have never been together and the things their union did were twisted and awful.

I think that the two of them together made something beautiful. Leafpool, in my opinion, always seemed like the less interesting of Firestar's daughters. Squirrelflight was always my favourite. The drama finally gave me a reason to pay attention to Leafpool, but it also made me dislike her more than I already did.

I also have mixed feelings about Crowfeather. He practically named himself after Feathertail, but then after her death, fell in love with Leafpool. While I am happy he did not mourn forever, it's difficult to come to terms with someone moving on so quickly. It's all so confusing. Add to the fact that after he came to visit Leafpool one time in the story, she basically cruelly rejects him, and he turns to the cranky Nightcloud as his third mate. For a tom that started out heartbroken, he jumps mates pretty damn fast. Not to mention he somehow went from sweet, innocent Feathertail to boring, confused Leafpool to cranky, sinister Nightcloud. And now whaddya know... he's cranky and sinister as well, with an even more disgustingly evil son: Breezepelt. Go figure.

Leafpool didn't end up much better, either. I know I still have trust issues geared toward her, so some of her Clanmates probably do, too. Her daughter, Hollyleaf, is now dead, and her two sons, Lionblaze and Jayfeather, still resent her quite a bit. Squirrelflight's relationship with them is also damaged since she pretended to be their mother, and her relationship with Bramblestar was also damaged because of Leafpool's selfishness. Ashfur died at Hollyleaf's paws because of Leafpool's lying, and there is just so much trouble brewed from Leafpool and Crowfeather's affair that it's absolutely crazy!

Not to mention Leafpool was stricken that she wasn't around to help her Clan and felt some amount of guilt for Cinderpelt's death when she returned. No one knows the true effects of Crowfeather's choice, but I'm sure it was equally damaging to his Clan, in some way. So I don't know. One part of me hates Leafpool and Crowfeather intensely for the damage they've done, and another part of me is sympathetic and almost happy they were together since their union created one of my favourite cats (Lionblaze).

I just don't know. Anyway, reading Leafpool's Wish put me on a rollercoaster of emotions and thoughts (such as the ones detailed above). It, for the first time, allows you to understand how Leafpool felt during her pregnancy and the birth of Jaykit, Hollykit, and Lionkit. It makes you hate her, feel sympathy for her, feel pained, and a series of other emotions all at once. It's crazy.

Last, and most definitely least, is Tigerclaw's Fury. I hated this story for a number of reasons. First and foremost is that Tigerclaw is like the Hitler of cats, and to read anything from his perspective is like drinking poison. He's the most self-indulging, obnoxious piece of fox-dung I've ever had the misfortune to read about. Even Brokenstar, Mapleshade, Hawkfrost, and a numerous amount of evil cats are more bearable than him. He literally makes me want to tear my hair out. This is why I'm glad I began reading the book backward, because if I'd started with this annoying crap, there's no way I would have finished the book.

Secondly, Tigerclaw is dead, and I mean for good, since the Dark Forest was destroyed in The Last Hope. (Which is something I find really strange, because if StarClan is comparable to Cat Heaven and the Dark Forest is comparable to Cat Hell, then how can Hell be destroyed altogether, you know?) So what's the point of reading about a doubly-dead cat's ambitions? I could care less.

And lastly, his constant insults of Firestar, who happens to naturally be one of my favourites, gets on my nerves more than just a little. My suggestion? You should skip this story altogether. You're definitely not missing anything.

[Rating would definitely be 5 out of 5 stars if Tigerclaw's Fury was omitted from this collection.]

Tigerclaw's Fury: 3 stars
On one hand, I really enjoyed revisiting the early Warriors story line. It has been a while since I've read the originals, and seeing the old characters brought back some of my love for the series. Tigerclaw felt almost one dimensional in this story, though. The narration sucked him dry of his personality, like many of the new books. This story also seemed almost unnecessary. We know what happened with Tigerclaw after the battle with Thunderclan, and I just didn't see a reason to revisit it.

Leafpool's Wish: 4 stars
At first, I wasn't really excited to read this one. I already know what happened, so I was worried this would also be an unnecessary story. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I always slightly resented Leafpool for the choices she made with her kits. I found her dumping them on Squirrelflight so she could stay a medicine cat a selfish act, but she was trying to play it off as a selfless act and 'for the good of the clan'. She broke the code and shouldn't force her family to lie to the people they care about and, subsequently, ruin their lives. This story definitely gave me some insight into her character, and while I will never fully like her character, I did feel for her in this novella in a way I hadn't at all before.

Dovewing's Silence: 2 1/2 stars
I was looking forward to this one most of all. When I was reading Bramblestar's Storm, I commented on how Dovewing's story was much more compelling. She struggled with still loving Tigerheart, losing her powers, taking a mate she didn't love, and making the choice to leave him, which I think is a story line I would love to have seen play out. I mentioned that it would have been nice to get a Dovewing novella about that. I was ecstatic to read this one, but it turns out, it wasn't about that at all.

Before I talk about the Dovewing story, I just want to say that I didn't get why everyone was treating Ivypool as a traitor. She is basically cat Snape, so I don't get why everyone was acting like she had betrayed the clan just as much as Blossomfall and Thornclaw and the rest. It seemed to me that she should have been a hero to her clan.

Dovewing's Silence is about the clans picking up the pieces of the dark forest battle and trying to accept those who trained in dark forest. It's an okay storyline, but it shouldn't have been sold as a story about Dovewing. It barely touched on Dovewing losing her powers at all! Tigerheart was only mentioned, like, once, which seemed unrealistic considering that more happens with him later, and since he is a central part of her character. Even if she didn't interact with him, he should have been in her thoughts. It was an enjoyable story, but it wasn't about Dovewing at all, and therefore somewhat of a letdown.

Another good collection short stories from the Warriors world. filling in much-anticipated gaps in the story-lines. Two would feature favorite characters of mine, so I was particularly stoked. 4 combined stars, individual ratings below.

Tigerstar's Fury - 3 stars
Decent. Decidedly decent. Although it was nice and informative on how Tigerstar got to that point in his "career," I wasn't crazy about this one. It was still a good story; it simply felt a bit disjointed. Again we are treated to a character who is very smooth while maintaining his evilness. Tigerstar is the Hitler of cats, honestly. And I liked the addition of Mapleshade into the mix. She pops up all over the place now in the mini-series, and I'm very intrigued with her! I'd like her own story.

Leafpool's Wish - 4 stars
I capital-L Loved Leafpool's story arc in the new prophecy, and it's continuation into the Power of Three. We saw glimpses of how the kits were born within each of those series, but were never actually given the opportunity to witness it first-hand. Behold this novella. It was just as heart-wrenching as I'd imagined, and it brought on such feels. No actual tears, but genuine heart-string pulling. And I love the trio so much; I was glad to see them as kits. Heart Jayfeather <3.

Dovewing's Silence - 5 awesome stars
Ugh, the feels were brought on right away. Oh, the feels. This one starts off RIGHT AFTER The Last Hope. Seriously, like the next sentence. And that whole ordeal was brought back into the forefront and I had to relive some pretty damaging stuff. This story dealt with the aftermath of the battle with the Dark Forest, and there was some big stuff to deal with. I had always wondered, and I'm so glad this story existed to clear things up. It got a bit deep, and perhaps I was simply vulnerable with all the resurfaced feels, but I think every time the name Firestar even came up, I choked. Oh, this one is good. If you read any of these stories, read this one.

#4. Tigerclaw's fury: 4/5
Tigerclaw was always a great villain and, although at first his whole association with the ShadowClan seemed a bit forced, now I realize that everything was well planned. I love how Tigerclaw can play the role of a good hearted cat when he's anything but. As always, this was my favorite serie and it's an amazing book!

#5. Leafpool’s wish: 4/5
Noooo... I can't believe this actually happened! I mean, I understand Leafpool's decision but it was really unfair and Squirrelflight was the most selfish and insufferable character ever! I kind of hate her everytime she said "I will do everything I can to help you" and then "I just can’t do this, it’s too much!"

#6. Dovewing's silence: 4/5
This was the epilogue I would have wanted to read in the last book, it ties up many ideas and allows the repercussions to settle gradually in the Clan. I liked what happened after the end of the Great Battle, as the three chosen ones are a bit too selfish due to their powers. Aside that, I was hoping for a slightly more romantic and less sad conclusion, but it was still interesting to read.

Ok, this definitely wasn't my favorite book.
Tigerclaw's fury was Ok, and I almost felt bad for him, almost.
Then there's Leafpool's wish. That one was my favorite, and I am really excited to read the long warrior novella about her now. I also kinda hoped that she would stay with her kits in the hollow tree. It's really sad that medicine cats can't have kits.
Then Dovewing's silence, which is just boring. I don't really want to read her longer novella all that much.
So all in all, I thought 3 stars would be the best for this book (although if it weren't for Leafpool's wish, I would have rated it 2 stars).

I’d probably give this book 3.5 stars. These stories were somewhat redundant, expanding on things I already knew had happened, but it’s nice to get in some characters heads (Leafpool and Dovewing, less so evil Tigerclaw). Making progress on the Warriors reread!

Content/Trigger Warnings: Death, loss, grief, bullying, manipulation

Tales from the Clans features three stand-alone Warriors novellas, which were previously available only as ebooks. Each novella in this paperback bind-up centers on a never-before-told story in the Warriors world—giving both first-time readers and dedicated fans a chance to experience spectacular new adventures in the series.

“Perhaps that’s the best way to recover, to return to the way things were before as quickly as we can. We won the Great Battle, so nothing needs to change.”

This book is a bind-up of three novellas from the Warriors series. Each of these novellas were originally published as ebooks; Tigerclaw’s Fury, Leafpool’s Wish, and Dovewing’s Silence. These three novellas are told in the sequence of past, present, and future. If you’re not familiar with the order of the series then this may be lost to you, but for those who are fans of the series then you probably already made this connection. In this bind-up you’ll read from the perspective of a clan traitor, a medicine cat, and the struggles of a ordinary warrior. You’ll learn about dark thoughts, secrets that can only be shared with a sibling, and how mistakes can impact everyone. Prepare to step into never-told-before stories from the cats of ThunderClan.

This was such a easy read for me and as someone who’s been of this series for a really long time, this was a perfect way to dip my toes back into this world. To be honest, it’s been such a long time since I read anything from this world that I nearly forgot everything that’s happened. But nonetheless, I’m so happy I picked up this novella bind-up. If you’re not familiar with this series then I probably wouldn’t recommend this book for you because you might not be able to enjoy it or even understand what’s happening in these novellas.

In reality, I don’t want to give too much away because I feel that it might be a spoilers for those who have yet to truly read the series or to those who aren’t familiar with the series. So I’m just going to do a breakdown of all three of the novellas and talk a little bit of what I liked and disliked in each one without any spoilers. This is a spoiler free zone!

🌻 Tigerclaw’s Fury

This was probably my least favorite of all of the novellas in this book. For those of you who are familiar with the series you know who Tigerclaw is and you yourselves probably dislike him as much as I do. To those who aren’t familiar with the series, Tigerclaw is known as a super villain throughout this entire series. He’s evil to the core, he thinks the only way to achieve greatness and power is by instilling fear and harm to those around him, and he’s has the horrible idle that only the strongest members of a clan make the clan above all other clans. He’s just a really horrible character and he’s not my favorite. I personally don’t like reading about him because of my knowledge of knowing how evil and toxic he is. He uses lying and fake acts of kindness to brainwash other’s into his cause. On top of all of that, it seems like he has a borderline personality disorder to add to how he goes about doing things. There are parts in this novella where he has an internal conversation with himself, one moment he’ll be talking in a logical manner of plotting and scheming the the next moment he’ll be like “only harm and fear will solve this issue.” So unfortunately for me, this was not the type of novella I wanted to be reading. However, I can appreciate seeing how he got from one phase in his life to the next phase in his life. It was definitely interesting to see that process and read about how he went from one clan to the next. Overall all though, this wasn’t my cup of tea and it definitely shifted the vibe of the other two novellas.

“If mercy is power, then I have never been more powerful.”

🌻 Leafpool’s Wish

Now this is the novella that might get you a little choked up. I’ll admit, I got soft and sappy while I was reading this novella. Leafpool is ThunderClan’s medicine cat meaning she’s a healer, a nurse, a doctor, a shaman, etc… any of those terms could be used to describe what she does for her clan. However, the terms of how she’s supposed to live her life is like that of a nun. No children, no relationships/lovers, only devoted to StarClan and helping her clan as their medicine cat. I have always had a soft spot for Leafpool and even more so with her relationship with her sister Squirrelflight. I’m always here for a sibling relationship. And one of my older favorites, Yellowfang, makes a few appearances in this novella. So the nostalgia was hitting hard. However, I went into this novella knowing what she had done and if we’re being honest, I was a little bitter about how she handled everything. Not to mention, I found her dumping her situation on her sister just for the sake of her staying the clan’s medicine cat was a selfish act and even more shocking of her trying to play it off as selfless act, for the “good of the clan”. I understood the reasoning and I know why she was so hellbent on staying as the clan’s medicine cat, but it still gave me insight to a side of her character that I never saw before. Nonetheless, I still like her character and I still felt sympathy for everything coming full circle for her.

“Leafpool stood outside the barrier of thorns and closed her eyes. Three tiny shapes filled her mind, three pairs of eyes—amber, green and blue—glowed from the shadows.”

🌻 Dovewing’s Silence

Let’s just be honest, this was probably my favorite out of all the novellas in this book. Granted, there is a lot of pain, there’s death, and you can feel the resentment radiating from the pages, but this was so brilliant. This novella makes me wish I had read from end to beginning because this one novella is worth a thousand reads. I got so emotional with this one. There were so many characters I became familiar with, had fallen in love with, only to read that they were taken away by doing what they were destined to do or what they wanted to do. But this was so beautifully written and it will make your heart ache especially anyone who has experienced loss. We also get to see the three siblings come together again and we got to see them struggle only to come together. I was real soft and sappy, I still am! I do, however, think a lot of fans/shippers of the Dovewing and Tigerheart romance are going to be let down by this. This novella isn’t about that relationship, it was never going to be about her romances. This novella is more centered around her trying to find normalcy after a really intense battle that claimed the lives of loved ones and friends, making sense of losing her abilities and what that means for her and her siblings, and standing up for what’s right. I think if more readers, especially fans, go in knowing this then it will be less of a disappointment. For me, I wasn’t bothered by the lack of her romances being addressed more or not enough. However, I can understand why some readers would see this as a let down. I still really enjoyed it, but it’ll definitely make readers soft especially if you’ve read the majority of this series!

“All battles leave deep wounds, whether you can see them or not. And wounds take time to heal. You know that, Dovewing. Don’t give up hope.”

Overall, I truly loved the novellas in this bind-up. As I stated, I think this bind-up could have been done without Tigerclaw’s Fury. It just shifts the mood too much of the book as a whole. I would say that two-thirds of this book is very soft, sappy, and bittersweet while the other third is enough to turn readers off or have a reader dnf the book. I definitely think if you’re a fan of the Warriors series then you should pick this book up. I know I’m glad I picked this book up and have it to add to my library.

Tigerclaw’s Fury
Review: It was interesting. I wasn't that into the story as it retold events I'd read already from Tigerclaw's point of view. But it was still enjoyable

Leafpool’s Wish
Review: My heart aches for Leafpool. What she went through . . . it saddens me. I wish she could've raised her kits herself, but at least they had Squirrelflight to do that; she turned out to be a good mother. I enjoyed following Leafpool again; I loved her so much when we followed her before, and even when she wasn't the most significant figure in a book.

Dovewing’s Silence
Review: It immediately follows the events of The Last Hope, and yes, it was emotional. And it restored my hope that these cats, at least for now, can live peacefully. I will miss having Dovewing as a main character, but I hope she is still significant in future books.

Tigerclaw’s Fury:
Definitely recommend reading this one following Rising Storm. It’s interesting to see Tigerclaw’s perspective on leaving ThunderClan, but his motivations don’t quite align with the Tigerclaw we know from the main series. Also, there are numerous continuity errors, such as referring to a cat by the incorrect name.

Leafpool’s Wish:
This is a truly heartbreaking and tear-jerking story. It’s wonderful to see Leafpool’s perspective on her situation and to feel just how much she cares for the kits she had to give up. Squirrelflight is truly sister of the decade. She gives up so much to protect her nieces and nephews and give them the kithoods they deserve. I also loved seeing that Jaykit is observant and inquisitive from the moment he is born. He has become one of my favorite characters.

A new collection of Warrior Cats Stories.
I especialls enjoyed Dovewing's Silence, not because I like Dovewing that much, but since that story showed, how Thunderclan moved on after the battle against the Dark Forest cats.
Leafpool's Wish was okay, too. It showed how she came to do what she did, which was a nice insight into the medicine cat. It also showed the close connection to her sister Squirrelflight.
Tigercloaw's Fury... not really my thing. I never liked Tigerclaw and this story only showed him as the bully he is. Only positiv aspect:He was really afraid that his son would get hurt. So in a way, he does care. But only briefly.

Good collection of stories from the Warriors universe. I enjoyed reading about each of these. Tigerclaw's Fury pissed me off a bit, due to his obsession with revenge and all that, and it got a bit boring since it seemed somewhat repetitive. Otherwise, a good book. I wanted more from Dovewing's Silence but it did tell me what I wanted to know: what happened immediately after the battle.

Tigerclaw's Fury 06/29/2024 - 07/07/2024

Tigerclaw weaseled his way into ShadowClan by fulling all of them. Mapleshade of course had a paw in this Clan overtake. Runningnose also put too much faith in Tigerclaw. Him being a medicine cat, why didn't StarClan warn him?

Leafpool's Wish 04/18/2024 - 04/20/2024

In Chapter 3 it is then the reader will discover that it was Yellowfang who came to Leafpool convincing her to talk her sister into raising her kits so she could remain the medicine cat. It figures it would be her, since she did the same thing, only her kits were raised by a queen who didn't want them and her kit was treated very terribly. It was a huge ask of Leafpool to ask her sister, she resisted at first, but she loves her sister and did it, even at the cost of the possibility of losing the love her life, which he later does for a bit, before she ends up back together with Bramblestar. It was also the hardest thing for Leafpool, to have to give up her kits and watch her sister raise them as her own. In Chapter 6 Yellowfang even ensures Squirrelflight takes them by telling her a lie, that she could never have kits of her own. So, basically cats in StarClan can lie, does nothing ever happen to Yellowfang because she lied. Does StarClan not have a code so to speak?

Dovewing's Silence 08/29/2024 - 09/01/2024

This seemed like it was more about what happened after the Dark Forest than it did about Dovewing's realization that she lost her powers. All throughout the book in little bits it mentions how she would try to hear and see but could not. But, not only did she lose her powers, so did Lionblaze and Jayfeather. I'm not sure why this book was intended to focus on Dovewing so much when all three of them lost their powers. I feel this book should have been about all three of them losing their powers and their trials and tribulations of figuring it out and learning how to live without them. It was not just her that lost them. Blackstar in chapter 4 claims they all feel differently about the Dark Forest cats who were tricked into being in the Dark Forest, but it was really only him who felt differently. Later, in chapter 8, Blossomfall who was once a Dark Forest cat, was sneaking out of the ThunderClan camp, to only go looking for catmint for her Clanmates. Why did she sneak out and make it so suspicious? Why didn't Dovewing ask her this? In Chapter 9 all of Dovewing's patrol which consisted of all the the former Dark Forest cats, were tricked into an attack with a fox, which by the way was in a trap. It was not a fair fight. Why they had to kill the fox instead of releasing it from the trap and then chasing it off is beyond me. Even Dovewing mentioned that this could have happened to any of her Clanmates, accidentally getting trapped in the trap instead of the fox.

I also feel like because I read these books so far apart, trying to read them in order, I am struggling a little bit trying to remember them all. I wrote some notes down, but I didn't write as much for Tigerclaw's fury, or Leafpool's wish. I only remember so much from Dovewing's Silence because it is the last one I just read to finish this book but as you can see, the dates are far apart, the earliest one I read was back in April and I am only now finishing the last novella in this book set in September because of all the other one's in between. I am not sure why the books were decided to be put together like this, other than all three are about main character cat's trials and tribulations. All in all, they were good books and you get to know them on a more personal level. I think I learned more about Tigerclaw on how he came to be the ShadowClan leader and Leafpool's situation with her kits than I did on Dovewing's trouble of losing her powers, along with Jayfeather and Lionblaze.

I'd recommend it for Leafpool's Wish and Dovewing's Silence. Tigerclaw's Fury is meh.

---Spoilers beyond this point---

Tigerclaw's Fury
Theme song: Feeling Good by Muse

So basically this is about how Tigerclaw took over ShadowClan. I have to admit his plan is clever and I do really like the scene where he is watching the fire going on, though it brings up some logistical and logical questions about how he was actually able to watch everything going on through the fire and the smoke. But other than that we already knew Tigerclaw was an abusive jerkwad. It did touch on Thistleclaw's abuse which I find interesting, and Tigerclaw showed remorse when he saw his old home on fire, so there's some small part of him that's still loyal to ThunderClan, but both of these were just touched on, not gone into in depth, which would have been really interesting. Also, Mapleshade is behind a bad thing again. That trope is getting old. I like Mapleshade, but she doesn't need to be involved in everything just because she's queen of hell.

Leafpool's Wish
Theme song: Child of the Night by Trans Siberian Orchestra
This story goes into how Leafpool managed to hide her pregnancy, and the birth of Jayfeather, Hollyleaf, and Lionblaze. Leafpool and Squirrelflight have a great relationship and I like how they play off each other. I had an issue previously with Yellowfang lying to Squirrelflight about being barren but reading it in full context, while I still don't agree with Yellowfang, I could see why it could have been seen as a necessary evil and not just a plot convenience. Though it does bother me that literally nobody noticed that Leafpool was pregnant, even when she was ready to burst. The thing that really shines in this one is Leafpool's conflict with giving up her kits. I could feel her pain when she had to give them to Squirrelflight after spending so much time with them as they were growing inside her and after she gave birth to them. And I loved seeing the Three as kits. They're all adorable.

Dovewing's Silence
Theme song: Beautiful City from the Godspell soundtrack
This is the best one in the trio. It has such an interesting and complex story. There's Dovewing and the others learning to live without their powers, while also trying to help their Clan recover from the battle at the end of The Last Hope. Dovewing helps her Clanmates forgive those who trained with the Dark Forest, and my one complaint with this is I wish the progression was slower. But other than that, seeing former friends and Clanmates shun each other like that was an emotional gut punch. The burial scene made me cry in class, when Purdy said he wanted to bury Mousefur where she could see the sunset. I also really felt for Dovewing after she lost her powers. It's not just "I'm not special any more boo hoo," to Dovewing and the others these powers were a normal part of their lives that were suddenly taken away. They had grown up with these powers. I could feel the uneasiness and uncertainty as Dovewing and the others learned to live without them. Great character moments throughout.
I should mention something very, very interesting. When they go to the Moonpool looking for answers to their loss of powers, they meet not StarClan but Midnight and Rock. It's clear now that they are ambassadors of a force older than StarClan. This confirms my theory that StarClan is part of a larger thing. It's possible every animal has a spirit world like StarClan, and they all come from some primal cosmic force that's ever-present and unites every living thing. Mother Earth?

Compared to the last novella book, I think the stories in this one are much stronger. You've got Into the Wild era, to New Prophecy era, and finally to the Omen of the Stars era all in one book. If you haven't read any of those books it might be a little bit confusing, but they're very easy to follow what's happening during these books. I like reading the novellas much more when they focus on events that we know about, but haven't been able to see the events in the main series books.

Tigerclaw's Fury - 4 stars
I don't think I need a full super edition to understand Tigerclaw's character when there are so many books that gives us glimpses of what he was like in addition to reading about him from the beginning series; Into the Wild. I just don't think we need a book basically retelling things we already know. Another book that gives us a glimpse is the Redtail's Debt novella that takes place before Into the Wild, but in the middle and after the end of Bluestar's Prophecy. We also have the Tigerstar and Sasha manga at some point during Into the Wild, but none of these books take place in Tigerstar's point of view. That is why I find this portion of the novella so interesting to read about because it gives us something new that we didn't know about previously.
The only thing that I didn't really like is that it turns out the voice criticizing himself throughout the book turned out to be Mapleshade all along. I just don't think it makes sense for it to be Mapleshade and it just wasn't very impactful or useful to the plot of the book. From what I've heard the Erin's love to include Mapleshade too much into the books as it is. Maybe it would have been more relevant if the voice was Thistleclaw because he actually knows who Thistleclaw is. Or just have the voice not be a dark forest cat at all.

Dovewing's Silence - 5 stars
I don't really know how many books of omen of the stars I've read, but this one follows the events of The Last Hope. It mainly deals with the direct aftermath of the battle and how the cats have been affected. This book was a little sad because they have lost so much after that book and I feel bad for the three loosing their powers. Dovewing thinks often about her powers and she strains to hear and see what she used to. I don't think you should read this book if you want actual emotional depth on how she feels about loosing her powers. I think this would more so be a good book if you wanted to know how the former dark forest trainees are doing or how Sandstorm is coping after loosing Firestar.

Leafpool's Wish - 5 stars
This book gives an insight into the period of time between the last New Prophecy and the first Power of Three book. Exactly how Leafpool convinced to take in her kits as their mother, how she gave birth, and the first glimpses of life back in camp after the birth. This was a super sad book from Leafpool's point of view and her basically loosing her kits due to having to keep her allegiance as a medicine cat in thunderclan. It's a very tough decision and starclan encourages her to do this. I don't know how things would be different if she stayed their mother because the clan already knew about Leafpool's relationship to Crowfeather, but I do know eventually all three do see Leafpool as their mother at some point. So it's also very bitter sweet. I don't think Hollyleaf got to have a lot of time to see Leafpool as her mother either before she died, but they're both in starclan together now.

A collection of three shorter works in the Warriors extended universe. A fun, light read for fans of the series.

Tigerclaw's Fury: Starting from the moment Tigerclaw was exiled from his Clan, it shows how he befriended Snag (Jaggedtooth) and Mowgli (Nightwhisper). Not really the biggest fan of this one. When I first got this book, I was too excited to read Leafpool's Wish, so I skipped this story and read that one first, then came back and read this one. It was just kind of boring. Tigerclaw isn't the most interesting protagonist, especially because we've already formed opinions about him from reading the main series, and the way he's written doesn't really do much to paint him as a sympathetic narrator. He befriends some loners and then renames them, but while we saw Jaggedtooth mentioned in Darkest Hour, Nightwhisper never even got a name mention. The story also ended too early for my tastes: I wanted to see him go to the Moonstone and get his nine lives (and yes, it is canon that he has nine lives, because in Darkest Hour we see him lose nine lives) but it ends just before that. Considering that he broke so many aspects of the warrior code before leaving ThunderClan and after coming to ShadowClan, I wanted to see StarClan's reaction to having to grant him this special privilege. I don't feel like there's anything in this short that would warrant a full story about him.

Leafpool's Wish: If you haven't yet read the Power of Three cycle, you're going to be spoiled for that. This one starts immediately after the badger attack on the ThunderClan camp. Leafpool becomes pregnant with Crowfeather's kits after a one-night stand with him and then has to convince Squirrelflight to take them as her own, with the help of a certain beloved StarClan cat. This one was way more interesting to read, especially since I kept wondering how Leafpool had managed to hide the signs of her pregnancy for so long. I especially loved seeing the arc that took place between the two sisters, and how Squirrelflight at first didn't want to go along with the plan. This gives more insight into the prophecy, as well, and into why Crowfeather's attitude toward Leafpool did a complete 180 between Sunset and The Sight. Unlike Tigerclaw's Fury, I feel like this was a story that has merit in existing, especially since Leafpool is one of my favorite POV characters in the series, second only to Firestar himself. A must-read for all Warriors fans.

Dovewing's Silence: ETA 1/30/19

Having finished the Omen of the Stars cycle, I came back to read this one like I said I would.

Taking place in the immediate aftermath of the Great Battle, we see Dovewing grappling with fear for the future as she, Lionblaze, and Jayfeather all lose their powers and become normal cats. Cats are in mortal peril from their battle wounds, greencough plagues all the Clans, and distrust for former Dark Forest warriors turns former Clanmates against one another. This, I think, was my favorite story of all the three in this book, though Bumblestripe is an idiot and Dovewing needs to dump him already. Seriously. In the middle of a Clan meeting, he's like "I have no idea what's going on here, but cool story, bro."

In conclusion: A wonderful little paperback that is a must-have for any fan of the series, weakened only by the existence of Tigerclaw's seemingly pointless story.

Tigerclaw's Fury- 4/5
From the reviews I read this wasn't a popular novella but I really enjoyed it. I always wondered how he had been accepted into ShadowClan, because in the books there was almost no explanation- all it said was everyone was at the Gathering, then surprise! He's the leader!
I don't think Tigerstar gets enough credit. Unlike Brokenstar, Tigerstar is smart about how he rises to power. He has well thought out strategies that are really clever. He went from being exiled from ThunderClan to becoming ShadowClan's trusted leader. Yes, he's cruel and deceiving, but that was an impressive feat.

Leafpool's Wish 3/5
I used to be a big fan of Leafpool and Crowfeather because of how scandalous it was, a rival clan medicine cat relationship. Now I realize that they have almost nothing in common and they were being completely selfish with their actions. Leafpool left ThunderClan for him, and only came back to tend the battle wounds? While she was playing with Crowfeather her clanmates are fighting to the death. It was the right thing to do to give up her kits. She owed it to her clan. I also feel bad for Crowfeather because he went from perfect Feathertail, to Leafpool who wasn't right for him at all, to Nightcloud, who is a complete bitch and the only cat worse than her is their son Breezepelt.
-
Dovewing's Silence 4/5
I admire the way Dovewing stood by the cats who trained with the Dark Forest. Even though Dustpelt is cranky and skeptical of them, he has lost so much, his mate and his son, that my heart breaks for him. He's under appreciated.
There was too much drama with Dovewing complaining about her powers. I also wish Dovewing payed more attention to Bumblestripe because he's one of the nicest cats, yet she still yearns for Tigerheart, the bad boy.
Jayfeather is my all time favorite cat in the series. Most will say he is sarcastic and rude, but he's done great things with the poor circumstances he was born into.

tiger claws fury was great
leafpools wish.. bro what was that? can they stop ruining yellowfangs character postmortem cause what did my girl do to deserve being given a whole personality change. the guilt tripping was crazy, I don't get why she had to lie to the whole clan including brambleclaw? like if I was leafpool I would've told crowfeather and just given him the kits. or tell firestar/sandstorm and then have the kits outside the clan and pretend you found them abandoned. I don't get why they made this plot so difficult, for yellowfang she just had brokenstar - told raggedstar and then gave the kit to Lizardstripe and no one questioned it. the same could've been done for leafpool instead of some weird "squirrel flight.. raise these kits or you're going to cat hell" squirrel flight and yellowfang deserve better. honestly since yellowfang died they just use her for everything starclan related and butcher her character, just let her die guys

dovewings silence just irritated me, yes you don't have powers anymore - why would you assume you're keeping them? they were clearly to fight the dark forest. also leave bumblestripe alone or become mates with him pick what u want instead of messing around. she also didn't seem surprised to find out tigerheart worked for the dark forest, did I forget something? I thought she didn't know. I don't know, I appreciate the aftermath being written after the fight but the whole thing was annoying to read from dovewings pov

4.3 stars

A good triplet of short stories, spanning several key times over the whole Warriors history: Tigerclaw's exile, Leafpool's pregnancy and the immediate aftermath of the Great Battle (which I haven't read about yet).

Tigerclaw's Fury: 5 stars. Loved this one! I have always hated Tigerclaw and his twisted, power-hungry logic, but this novella showed his deeper layers (e.g. his love for his mate and kits, homesickness etc.) and motives, which makes him a more compelling (rather than flat) villain. This story shows how truly cunning he was in taking over ShadowClan, as well as Mapleshade's influence.

Leafpool's Wish: 5 stars. This was a very bittersweet story of Leafpool's pregnancy, kitting and handover of Hollykit, Lionkit and Jaykit to Squirrelflight. The emotional turmoil Leafpool went through was very nicely written.

Dovewing's Silence: 3.5 stars. This one had a rather tragic opening, especially for me as I haven't read up to the events of the Great Battle yet. I liked reading about what happened to those Clan cats who had initially fought alongside the Dark Forest cats, and at times the story was quite emotional; however I felt like the overarching plot of why Dovewing was losing her abilities was quite predictable.

Individually...

Tigerclaw's Fury: 5 stars
TIGERSTAR. TIGERSTAR. Disappointed we didn't get to see his control of ShadowClan further or the rise of TigerClan from his perspective here, but it was amazing. Mapleshade wasn't exactly necessary though.

Leafpool's Wish: 3 stars
Did they forget how to portray the sisters? Squirrelflight is terribly out-of-character, reverting back to her apprentice state, ignoring all her development. Yellowfang telling Squirrelflight that she would never have kits was unnecessary, stupidly manipulative, and didn't seem like her at all - Squirrelflight loved Leafpool, she could have been brought around more easily than that. I loved the little kits, but... How did they forget Spiderleg wasn't the father of Daisy's first litter? One page has the kits referring to him as their father (Smoky's their father) when Spiderleg isn't even mates with Daisy at this stage! Did nobody edit this?

Dovewing's Silence: 5 stars
Breezepelt did NOT deserve to stay in the Clans. He openly declared loyalty to the Dark Forest but Onestar, who once again proves his idiocy as leader, trusts him without question, and zero punishment. Meanwhile the ThunderClan Dark Forest trainees almost get killed by a fox because their Clanmates hate them so much. My only issue is in Breezepelt receiving no punishment, when he was the most evil of all the trainees.

Tigerclaw's Fury: 2/5. I know that I should like this more, and I should be more interested by a Tigerclaw POV, but I couldn't get into it. I also thought it was a really cheap move to suddenly reveal that Tigerclaw was evil because of Mapleshade the villain talking in his head, rather than by his own motives. There were also some pretty severe inconsistency with the rest of the books. Nonetheless, it's always interesting to get a villain's insight. The story shows what happened to Tigerclaw after his exile from ThunderClan, and it's something that Tigerclaw fans would really enjoy.

Leafpool's Wish: 5/5. Possibly my favorite novella. This story deals with the time between Sunset and The Sight, as Leafpool realizes she's pregnant and is trying to figure out what to do with her kits. I must admit, this story makes one major mistake that would never happen in real life: Leafpool is described as spending her entire pregnancy working in ThunderClan, leaving just one day before giving birth. There's no way that out of 20+ cats, no one would notice she was pregnant that entire time. Other than that, I really enjoy the story -- and I might be biased as Leafpool is one of my favorite characters. She deals with immense emotional pain as she gives up the motherhood she had grown to want, because she knows her career is more important. We also see a soft, caring side to Squirrelflight that we don't see a lot of otherwise, as she takes over as the three kits' mother.

Dovewing's Silence: 4/5. Immediately after the battle in The Last Hope, Dovewing is realizing that she's lost her powers, and it badly upsets her. She also sees that the Clan is dividing among itself. It shows the burials of the ThunderClan cats lose in the Great Battle, and how the Clan is attempting to rebuild. The story ends with the Three learning why they've lost their powers. Not much I can say without giving away pretty big spoilers (for if you're still reading OotS), but a pretty good story.

This is a solid collection.

In it, we’ve got short stories for Tigerclaw, Leafpool, and Dovewing—all characters that are integral to the Warriors world. The events that occur in these shorts are all very relevant the main storylines.

I genuinely enjoyed this collection.

I love a glimpse into Tigerstar’s perspective whenever I can get it. He is such a fascinating character. One of the great villains of children’s literature for sure. I found it very interesting to see Mapleshade appear in his story. She haunts this world.

I knew much of Leafpool’s story already—but it was interesting to hear it from her perspective.

And, Dovewing’s story is also endlessly fascinating. She and her sister Ivypool have such an odd presence in their stories. They kind of sneak up on you—just how important they become.

Anyway.

Good collection! Would recommend for Warriors fans~

TIGERCLAW'S FURY
Eh it was okay- I never really cared for Tigerstar so this one was meh -

LEAFPOOL'S WISH
This one was beautiful and interesting. Leafpool gives birth, decides to be a mom for a little while then give her kits to her sister so she can continue being medicine cat, the ending feels bittersweet but I am just glad that she got to stay in the same clan watching her kits grow.

DOVEWING'S SILENCE
This one was amazing too, it's about Dovewing losing her powers and trying to deal with it and it's also about the aftermath of the great battle where so many cats were lost and how the clan deals with traitors- the ending where traitors finally get accepted back as loyal warriors was so satisfying to read too.

Leafpool's Wish- 1 star. An absolute trainwreck in which completely innocent characters are forced into decisions that ultimately will have a bad outcome for them. Full review at: https://skybookcorner.blogspot.com/20...

Tigerclaw's Fury- 2 stars. An okay look into Tigerclaw's character, but ultimately it doesn't even add that much to the canon except for finally solving the Whitethroat mystery. Full review at: https://skybookcorner.blogspot.com/20...

Dovewing's Silence- 3 stars. A decent look into the post Great Battle events, but also really not much more than that. Full review at: https://skybookcorner.blogspot.com/20...

Leaf pools wish- 5/5
Made me SOB, I am so full of love for leafpool and Squirrelflight. It was a great concept and I’m here for it!!! Also baby Jayfeather is an absolute treasure to be protected.

Tiger claw’s fury 5/5
this was so interesting to read. It was compelling and I was on the edge of my seat. It makes me LOVE Tigerclawstar as a villain. His POV and the way he talked was bloodchilling. He truly is evil.

Dove wings Silence 2.5/5
This one was okay. It wasn’t as interesting as the others but I liked it! A little boring and I don’t like dove wing that much but it was still interesting and I liked reading it.

Tigerstar’s Revenge: 4.5/5

Overall great book, I liked seeing the time period between his exile and his rise to leader.

Leafpool’s Wish: 4.5/5

Also a great book, though I kinda wish there were more cats mentioned in the book other than Leafpool, Firestar, Sandstorm, Brackenfur, Squirrelflight, and Brightheart.

Dovewing’s Silence: 3/5

I enjoyed reading it, but it wasn’t even mostly about what happened to her powers. It’s just about the cats of her Clan accepting the Dark Forest cats, and not Dovewing finding out what happened to her powers. I mean, we finally find out what’s wrong in the last five pages.

It was still a great book so I give it five stars.

Tigerclaws Fury-2.5 stars
How do I describe a novella this bad. It wasn't the writing that was terrible, no it was the character. Reading Tigerclaw's (tigerstars) perspective was like drinking slime from the bottom of a marsh.

Leafpool's Wish-4.5 stars
This was a very enjoyable read. It is always fun to read the interactions between Leafpool and her sister.

Dovewing's Silence-4 stars
I am not a Dovewing fan, don't think I'll ever be, but nevertheless, you can feel her pain in this novella. The writing was excellent.
