Dark Gallifrey begins with a very gothic-inspired story surrounding the timelord Morbius, Tim Foley had written a really solid opening episode to this story, but does the second part manage to continue this story off in style or do problems begin to appear?
The Proteus has crashed on an impossible island covered in ice. The crewmates are preparing for mutiny, while Captain Argento and Gilda go off to explore the island of the dead. Just what lurks on this island and will Morbius finally rise back from the dead? Time is running out and it seems a dead tyrant has the upper hand.
Tim Foley has written a brilliant script that continues this story wonderfully. It's another very atmospheric and gothic episode, with some very chilling and gruesome scenes. I love the idea of the temple in this story and how it plays tricks with the characters' minds. I wasn't sure about the surprise cameo when I initially heard about it but it surprisingly works. The cliffhanger to this installment is brilliant and has me ecstatic for the finale!
Overall: Dark Gallifrey's first story is getting very exciting and I can't wait to see how it all concludes! 10/10
I’m really liking how these audios are painting Morbius. In Classic Who he kinda feels to me like a joke villain because of the state in which he’s presented.
