Who am I? Born in Liverpool, I trained in psychology, teaching and
counselling. Pretty soon, I realised that what underpinned all these
activities - and what really motivates me - is the single goal of
helping people have the best relationships they can possibly have.

So for the past 30-something years I've been doing just that through
my books!

I'm delighted to now be published in 33 countries and 24 languages,
to have sold over 1 million copies of my work, to have written the
best-selling book on Relate's publishing list (Stop Arguing Start
Talking) and to have had my writing recognised by being designated
one of the Family Planning Association's 21st Century Achievers.

I also love supporting clients to have good relationships through my
coaching services, by writing a weekly advice column for Fabulous magazine, by writing and teaching courses for the global organisation The School of Live. I am also an Ambassador for Relate Cambridge, and serve on the Advisory Board of the Sexual Advice Association and the Council for Sexuality and Sexual Health of the Royal College of Medicine. In 2015 I also won Dating Expert of the Year at the UK Dating Awards.

I also know that dreams come true. Because I once said to a friend
that my dream would be to update the Joy of Sex for the 21st century.
Guess what? Eight years ago I was asked by the Joy of Sex estate to
do just that. The project was a total privilege and pleasure, the
result won Publication of the Year at the Erotic Awards 2010.

If you'd like to know what else I do; to read my qualifications,
credentials and affiliations; to ask me a question, or to discuss
working together, please do get in touch via my website

My next book was Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Of course, I saw this movie with Keira, of course we studied its parts on English Literature lessons, BUT! None of those made such impression on me as reading of the whole book! I fell in love with the way Jane Austen described people's traits of character in her heroes. Mr Darsi and Miss Bennet demonstrated higher IQ rather than many people around them. And it shows that RIGHT UNION of a man and a woman will create big volume of happiness while WRONG UNION of a man and a woman will provoke different problems and disorder. Next interesting fact is how important it was to comply with tact and etiquette laws. People were extremely polite, gracious, made very long speeches, wrote very long letters.. and now we just send a few words each other in whatsapp, but if it IS normal to me, ABnormal IS the way we became irrogant and harsh to each other. As for me, I hate rude people in shops, buses, streets and sometimes talk the same rude way with them, but after this book I change my mind to stay calm and normal person even with abnormal people ;) Lizzy's dad possesses high sense of hunour and satire and made me laugh not only once. This feature was and will always be useful in our lives. And finally, two more features I was able to feel and understand in a full way in this book are vanity and prejudice, part of each might be in all of us. And thanks now I will know how to deal with it :)

This is my happy book
The perfect escapism from real life to a simpler time of balls and boys but still to find POWERFUL WOMEN
I was gifted the special edition for international women’s day and it’s become an even greater favourite!
(I know this is the study notes version but I’ve already read it and wanted both on my reading challenge😂)

I love this book--it's one I read over and over again. Jane Austen has created the heroine we'd all like to be--Elizabeth Bennett is independent, confident, and intelligent. She has a certain understanding of the world and her place in it that gives her a superiority without snobbery. She's perfectly comfortable with her place in life, until she comes across Mr. Darcy--a man she believes she understands completely, and finds out that, in fact, she understands nothing. How many of us have been in that situation, where our confidence has been shaken by love? A timeless story with universal relevance.
