An addiction like that is a weakness, and now, more than ever, I can’t allow weakness in my life.
Left by her fiancé on her wedding day, Brooke is devastated but unfazed as she believes she dogged a bullet. Their relationship was lacking connection over the past year or so. Processing everything, she spontaneously changes her honeymoon plans from LA to New York. That’s when she meets a dangerously gorgeous suited man in first class after getting an upgrade on the way to New York. This weekend away changes everything. But soon, she will uncover the truth alongside betrayal and lies.
This is what I’m talking about. A perfect amount of plot and spice. I was living for everything in this book. How it started, the wild weekend away then, returning to all the secrets coming out, my heart hurt. I felt used like the FMC, but then the enemies element came out, and Brooke was feisty and challenging Zev at every turn. He was an asshole, but his inner thoughts had me screaming. Zev is a brick wall, and he is drawn to Brooke. The nickname he had for her made me weak. The twists, tension and plot just did it for me. The hate spice scene I devoured. Don’t even get me started on how cute the little side story of two side characters, Igor and Enya. That ending, I had tears in my eyes. I didn’t cry, but I grabbed my chest and felt the pain. If you pick this up, it leaves off on a cliffhanger. I can not wait to start the next book!

My Thoughts: This book consumed me! I could not put it down. Brooke's life changes when she is stood up by her fiance on her wedding day. She meets a mysterious man on her way to New York for an escape, Lev. Lev is the Pakhan for the New York Bratva. He's meticulous and strategic in his every move. The chemistry between these two is instantaneous. It was so easy to fall in love with Lev, he is your next book boyfriend. I loved the character development between these two. This book has spice, forced proximity, fake relationships, drama, and mafia. I can't wait to read and continue their story.

Lev Zarkov is the new pakhan of the Zarkov Bratva, and not everyone is happy about it. Meeting Brooke Masters changes things for both of them. Both are thrown into a different situation than expected, but aren’t these often the best?
Although Lev is arrogant and demanding, he also has something about him—and I’m not talking about his handsome looks and terrific body—they’re a bonus for sure. Simply put… I like him. I don’t always like how he treats Brooke, but she certainly can stand on her own two feet. That’s something I admire about her. Don’t get me wrong, I like her a lot, too. She’s a gutsy young woman who handles what happens to her much better than I would have.
There are some very humorous parts of scenes, such as this one teeny piece where Lev replies to a man, which instantly brings a chuckle burst out. “I know people high-up in this airline.” “I don’t care if you know God—you’re in my seat.…” the instant reply is terrific! The to and fro between Lev and Brooke is a lot of fun, too. So is the banter between Lev and his cousin. This is also a dark story, well, being a Bratva story, you expect it to be. The balance between light and dark is brilliant.
This book hooked me in from the beginning, and its fast-paced story had me finished in no time at all simply because I couldn’t put it down. The ending had me rushing to the second book as fast as possible—phenomenal writing.

Absolutely loving the mafia books from Penny! After her first dip in this book world with the De Kysa books, I was so excited that she was continuing these types of stories! Brooke thought she had everything she wanted in life and was moving in the right direction, but that all changes on her wedding day when she’s stood up by her groom and he’s left town. Determined to move on, she goes on a trip instead of her honeymoon and meets Lev; they have an explosive night together and then never see each other again…until he ends up in her living room saving her from her deranged ex-fiancé who owes him money. Initially, Lev is going to use Brooke to flush her fiancé out of hiding, but when they spend the night together, he knows things are forever changed. After he saves her, he gives her an ultimatum to save her ex-fiancé of joining him at his home and entering a fake relationship together. She does this because that’s the type of person she is, even though her ex-fiancé is truly scum, and off they go. Lev struggles with his feelings for Brooke, feeling that he shouldn’t have them because they will make him weak. Brooke on the other hand initially has feelings for Lev, she also doesn’t like how he is in forcing her hand, but also can’t keep away and the end result is her being kidnapped by Lev’s enemy and a cliffhanger that has me on the edge of my seat!

Wow, if I could rate this book higher, I definitely would! From the very beginning to the end, I was completely hooked. It’s a roller coaster ride of emotions, blending both light and dark romance seamlessly.
This book follows the story of Brooke and Lev. Brooke, a fiery heroine with a huge heart, is left standing at the altar by her fiancé, Wilson. Determined to make the most of her honeymoon, Brooke books a trip to New York, she encounters the enigmatic Lev, and their one-night stand sets off a chain of events. Lev, the Pakhan of the New York Bratva, is a strategic and commanding presence, making him the ultimate badass boss. The chemistry between Brooke and Lev is palpable, especially when they engage in witty banter. This story will have you rooting for them from the very beginning. Ending on a cliffhanger, I can’t wait to dive into the next book to find out what happens next!
Dee’s writing is simply phenomenal, immersing you completely in the hearts and minds of Brooke and Lev. She portrays the villains of the story perfectly as well! This was my first time reading Dee’s work, and I can confidently say it won’t be my last.
If you enjoy romance with a hint of danger and a dash of twists, I highly recommend picking up ‘Bratva Lullaby.’ I’ll definitely be purchasing a physical copy!

Oh My Gosh! How in the world do I write a review that will do justice to part one of this Bratva Duet without spoilers? So… if it seems vague or cryptic I apologize up front. But be still my heart - this book will have you wanting to bop Lev, The Pakhan, upside his head for his heavy handed ways then suddenly you want him to be the merciless man he’s known to be. I laughed, cried, screamed and cringed as I read part one of this duet.
It is a well written, action packed mafia storyline that will hold your mind hostage. But it’s also a mafia romance that will melt your heart and have you feeling good, bad, happy, sad and every other emotion the main characters, Lev & Brook, feel. The author gave us characters so well defined I felt like I’d know them anywhere. I can’t recommend this duet enough and I can’t wait to jump right into part two.
Grab up part one ASAP, you won’t regret it.

This is my first book by this author and it definitely won’t be the last.
What starts as fake relationship turns into so much more with Brooke and Lev. Only danger is always lurking in the background.
Bratva Lullaby sucked me in from the start and held me captivated till the end. So pleased both books of this duet are released together. Think I would have struggled waiting to find out what happens next.

I devoured this book and I’m not even sorry 😂 after my last read I wanted something fast paced & I’m SO glad I found Penny Dee after searching some hashtags on Insta!
This story was, as I mentioned fast paced, the chemistry was there between the MMC and FMC, lots of spice 🌶️ & whilst I don’t love the pregnancy aspect of storylines, it was woven fairly well into the plot. I shall be starting book 2 tonight as the ending has me needing to know what happens next!

I imagine this will likely satisfy most readers looking for a stock-standard mafia romance.
It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, though there’s not too much to critique, either.
…Aside from a few lines referencing the hero looking up her Facebook 🙃
Pleeeease authors, if you’re going to write about 20-somethings as a 50+ year old, I’m begging you to have age-appropriate beta readers who can look out for these sorts of tells. Or avoid the novel aging itself by not referring to specific social media companies. The characters can simply look up their ‘socials’.

Bratva Lullaby by Penny Dee is the shocking, engaging story of Lev and Brooke. She’s about to wed the man of her dreams…until the unthinkable happens. Now, she’s decided to live life and goes to New York!! She meets Lev and her life changes…in so many ways. Now, he has plans.
This story was sooooooooo freaking good!!!! Lev is a complete jerk and deserves nothing but contempt. But, he has her in a chokehold and there’s no escape. Things become complicated and unexpected situations (and feelings) arise. Then, he is placed in a precarious, tenuous position….now what can he do????
He is dark, brooding, single-minded. She is flighty, determined, and loyal. But, neither of them expect this!!!! Part 2 of this duet is coming!!

Fun and entertaining read! I think this is a great book for someone that wants to ease their way into the mafia trope for the first time.
It has all the typical mafia tropes.

“You’ll have guards 25/7 because I said so”

It’s all the tropes and plot line that MANY mafia books have. So it can get repetitive if you’ve been reading mafia for years.
Lev is all talk and no bite from a man who claims to have very little humanity left. He’s a goner for Brooke though. Brooke’s runaway ex fiancé left her at the alter. He’s also wanted by Lev who’s the Pakhan of the mafia.
There’s little to no politics in this storyline. And Lev doesn’t seem to have a ton of respect from his own people or full control of his own men yet.
But someone wants him dead. Someone doesn’t want him as boss.
I’ll be continuing to read book two as book one leaves off on a cliffhanger!

But her ex fiancé shows up in the middle of the night looking for her ring so he can run off. But the man she has the one night stand with also shows up, looking for Wilson. He’s Lev Zarkov, the pakhan of the Russian mafia.
Lev forces Brooks to come with him and tells Wilson that he wants a flash drive with a video that Wilson tried to blackmail Lev with. He and Brooke fight quite a bit with each other. He wants her to marry him for a year so that he makes it harder for his uncle to try to take over.
Things heat up for the couple, but just as they start to fall for each other, a foe decides to kidnap Brooke and beats her to teach Lev a lesson. Though he finds Brooke, the hits keep coming. The book ends on a cliffhanger.

series. This was a good read full of action. Lev Zarkov is the new Pakhan of the Zarkov Bratva, and not everyone is happy about it. Brooke is left at the altar by Wilson. She decides to take a trip to New York and ends up in first class with a hot man. She has a one-night stand with him and then sneaks out, returning to her life. But her ex-fiancé shows up in the middle of the night looking for her ring so he can run off. But the man she has the one-night stand with also shows up, looking for Wilson. He’s Lev Zarkov, the Pakhan of the Russian mafia. Lev forces Brooks to come with him and tells Wilson that he wants a flash drive with a video that Wilson tried to blackmail Lev with. He wants her to marry him for a year so that he makes it harder for his uncle to try to take over. I love reading Penny's books. Lev is arrogant and demanding he is also a hot sexy alpha male, and I liked him. Brooke, I didn't like her at first but and I didn't like how Lev treated her, but she did grow on me. The chemistry between these two was hot. Brooke is dragged into the dangers of the Bratva as Lev's enemies come for him. I love reading this authors books and I have read quite a few of them. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book as this one left off on a cliffhanger.

Are you JOKING?! I could NOT put this book down I was hooked from the very beginning. FMC gets stood up on her wedding day and meets mysterious, ridiculously handsome man just as she starts to embrace her newly single life. What more do you need to see the tone for a killer read?! Throw in mafia, a little forced proximity, touch her and 💀, fake dating, and a man who insists he doesn’t want love and you have yourself a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read. The 🌶️🌶️ didn’t disappoint either 😉. I ended up with a new book boyfriend almost immediately after meeting Lev in the story, trust me you will too 🤤🥵. Not to mention an ending that’ll leave you wanting to immediately pick up the next book and start reading (or, if you’re like me, crying on the inside because you have to leave for work and can’t start the next one yet). SO excited to start up book 2 and see how Brooke and Lev’s relationship continues to develop and grow.

A new to me author and while Bratva Lullaby, the first book in the Zarkov Bratva duet wasn’t as dark a read as I had expected, the overall story was engaging from the start as after being stood up on her wedding day, Brooke decided to spend her honeymoon in New York. On the flight she attracted the attention of a handsome and charismatic stranger Lev, but was it by pure chance or were other forces at work?
There was definite chemistry between Brooke and Lev right from the start, but Brooke was vulnerable after being dumped at the altar, while Lev due to his family commitments, had no intention of allowing any woman into his life until tensions had settled down. Their one-night stand was never meant to be anything more until events escalate and Brooke finds herself collateral damage after her errant fiancé tried to blackmail the Bratva Pakhan otherwise known as Lev and was now his captive. Not that Brooke made things easy for him, opposing and resisting him at every turn . This is book one of a duet and if I may say so, it gets things off to a very seductive start. This story does a great job of capturing your attention and inspiring a fierce need to read as often, as fast and as much as possible. Lev is one seriously intense guy, and he has a darkness with a wicked sharp edge that I found was the perfect balance between appealing and chilling. As for Brooke, my thoughts are much more scattered. She definitely had me experiencing a lot of different thoughts and feeling as the story unfolds. One thing is for sure book two isn't just a want it is a need!

I was so very lucky to have been given an ARC and am giving an honest review. Wow, I loved this book. Brooke has been jilted almost at the alter, having been having second thoughts about getting married it's not quite as much of a disaster as it could have been. Lev as the head of his family doesn't have time to get involved, but these 2 get swept away and what starts as a pretend engagement soon develops and gets a lot more real. I pretty much read this in one sitting! Great start to her 2 book series.
I've read all of this Authors MC books and loved every one. I need to check out her others.

Someone is living their best mafia era HARD…..and I’m so here for it
I adore this author having discovered her in her MC series, but her more recent books have shown such a diverse flexibility as an author to spin into this dark world and develop such black hearted yet lovable characters.
I want to dislike Lev, like I really really want to dislike him. Whilst simultaneously wanting him to kidnap me. Stockholm syndrome much 🤣
A twisty storyline with a lot going on, a cliffhanger ending that left me breathless and characters you want to see make it through.
Immediately pivoting to the next book…enjoy the journey, it’s worth the time and for a reasonable length book, it really feels like no time till you are at the end and desperate for more

This is an amazing story. Brooke is to be married but her fiance takes a runner. Hurt she goes to New York to try to collect herself. She meets a very charismatic man on the plane. Lev is the head of the Bratva. He is very handsome and powerful.
I loved Brooke sense of humor, her sarcastic comebacks, she was a delight. Lev was very strong and seemingly unmoving. I enjoyed the banter between the two of them. The secondary characters of Igor (loved him) and Enya added so much to the story.
I am not eloquent like other reviewers. I just want you to know that this book and author is so worth reading. Please read this book. It is so good.

Penny Dee is a fantastic author! She’s been one of my go to’s for MC stories but has quickly stepped into that role with mafia stories too. The Zarkov Bratva Series is amazing! Lev and Brooke meet under unusual circumstances and because of an idiot ex those circumstances just keep spiraling. Lev is a man of power and position who’s used to getting what he wants, when he wants it. Brooke is a spunky little woman who pushes all his buttons…it’s great! So much mystery and intrigue along with 2 incredibly sexy leads…what a great start to this series. Now to dive into book two!

What can I say I love mafia books and this one does not disappoint. Brooke is left at the alter but she’s not that heart broken; she more mad than anything else. She decides to go to New York to get away and trades in her honeymoon ticket to get away. Little does she know that her ex was in trouble and crossed the wrong family. When on the plane there’s an handsome man sitting next to her and she flirts with him. Why not her relationship with her ex was over long before the wedding and Lev is just what she needs to get over her ex but she really doesn’t know who Lev really is. This is a hot, dangerous love story that will make you want to keep reading. I couldn’t put it down. I’m so glad the second book to the story is out cause I can’t wait to read the rest of their story. A must read.

I loved this book. The dynamics between the two is off the chart. They make an amazing couple, and by the time he admits it, I was already invested in their future.
The author moved the story along brilliantly and now I'm thankful that I have no 2 so I don't have to wait to find out what happens.

Lev and Brooke's story starts here and it is a smoking hot one. I really enjoyed this one. Lev and Brooke meet on a plane and from there the story takes off. Definitely some plot twists in this one!!
