Orphaned at twelve, Shethor Own Eliaston found herself rejected by the society in which she had been raised and thrust into the world her family had left behind. It is a world of barren sand and dusty underground cities filled with people who measure their success by their sales numbers, but it was there beneath the desert that she discovered her true heritage and her mission. Now she must push herself and her world to the brink of destruction to break the chains that have bound her people for centuries.

THE RABANIAN TRILOGY:
NAAN, RABAN, and SHETHOR

First and foremost, a GREAT, PAGE-TURNING READ!!
If you are a science fiction buff, Dr Dan Haronian is a wonderful new author to add to your constellation. I hope we’ll be hearing a lot more from him!

Haronian’s worlds are, very recognisably, our world on a grand scale. As information technology shrinks our world, and what happens in one country has global ramifications, in Haronian’s books what happens on one planet has galactic ramifications. Haronian, a physicist and micro systems expert, makes us look hard at the horrendous destructive potential of information technology abuse - (called scrambling in the Trilogy). The more complex and interconnected these information systems are, the more far-reaching and cataclysmic the destructive potential of their abuse.
Haronian skillfully weaves his scientific expertise with his philosophical and ethical concerns and questions and brings it all to life through well-drawn characters and a strong story line.
The result is a superb saga spanning several generations of growth, change, political shenanigans, family intrigues, mysterious prophecies and much much more.

THE RABANIAN TRILOGY chronicles the lives and fortunes of the 3 Plaser brothers, Daio, Dug and Sosi. NAAN and RABAN take us from Sosi’s troubled youth through his son Raban’s innovative adulthood and the arrival of the shuttle that changes everything. SHETHOR skips a few generations and brings all the elements laid out in the first 2 books to their exciting climax, led by Raban’s forceful and driven female descendant, Shethor.
I am reviewing THE RABANIAN TRILOGY as a whole because the 3 books are so interconnected...and also because once you’ve read NAAN, there’s no stopping! You’ll eagerly go straight on to RABAN and SHETHOR!
Steven Spielberg, if you are reading this review, THE RABANIAN TRILOGY contains material for 3 great movies!
