Read Widower Jensen’s Bride In Hiding, another unputdownable Randolph Ranch romance!
This story is part of the Randolf Ranch series and as with most of them it is a quick read so things move along almost unbelievably quickly. The main characters are both widowed and both find that those close to them have manipulated them with a variety of lies that link them in an unusual way. As they each find the depths of deception to which they have been subject, they become very distrustful and guarded which leads to some problems between them. They are both very believable characters, though, in these responses and the problems created. Fortunately there are those who can see a bit more objectively and help them sort out the issues and help hold those who committed crimes to be held responsible so we end with a happily ever after for them and the children involved. As with others in the series, I enjoyed the story as a whole but was a little disappointed in the amount of the story used for set up as opposed to the amount to work out the situation. Ms. Grace also has a tendency to write dialogue that sounds like people did a hundred years ago. I do not particularly like writers who go overboard on the modern vernacular, particularly the tendency of many to fill pages with gutter language (my bias I guess to see that as a sign of a lazy mind), but I would like them to sound a bit more up to date. I don't think that will keep me from reading more of her work, though.
Precious son and Twin daughters, made Logan a very very happy father. Now on the other his wife, that’s a completely different story. Mae was never home for more than a week if that long. Then Mae and her co-worker were killed. All three kids got sick not long after the tragedy. Don’t just read part of the book, read it all in one sitting. You’ll be glad you did.
This book was not what I was expecting as it dealt with the lives of two people who were caught up in the lies that they were told and led to believe. I was glad to read of a happy closure to their lives and for the children.
I thoroughly enjoyed this very different and tangled story of loss and betrayal. 3 adorable children and 2 lovely people ... can they ever become a family?
