Lydia Brownback (MAR, Westminster Theological Seminary) serves as a senior editor at Crossway in Wheaton, Illinois, and an author and speaker at women’s conferences around the world. Crossway has recently published a new Bible study in the series from Flourish Bible Study. This one is on the book of Ecclesiastes and authored by Lydia Brownback. Whom I highly would recommend any of her Bible studies and books. She is biblically solid, and from the studies and books I have done of hers, I always learn something new, encouraging, and applicable. I enjoy this study, and it is one of my favorites!
Ecclesiastes: Finding Meaning When Life Feels Meaningless is a timely study for our time to do. Ecclesiastes has a lot to say about what the meaning of life is. Sometimes, we might be wondering why does it seem like evil is winning, but the Word reminds us that there is nothing new under the sun. Or maybe what is the purpose of life, where do look for wisdom? Well, good news, you will learn about this and so much more reading and studying the book Ecclesiastes with this new study book.
“Marinating in the Scripture text is the most important part of any Bible study.”
This is an expository study of the word planned in a ten week study that you may do alone or with a group. She takes you through verse by verse with cross references of other Scripture and questions to help you learn and grow in your understanding of the Word. In the study book, you will also find charts, introduction, key terms, and a link to a free leader’s guide.
Many thanks to Crossway Publishers for providing this book for review! Opinions are 100% my own! I did receive the product in exchange for this review and post.
Yay! A new book in my favorite Bible study series! This series is designed for women and can be used for group or individual study, with wonderful suggestions and guidance for both scenarios.
𝐄𝐜𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐬: 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 is the newest book in the Flourish Bible Study series by Lydia Brownback. It focuses on how we must look to Christ to find purpose in our lives—especially when we might be struggling or searching for meaning.
Guiding me through the book of Ecclesiastes, several questions are addressed that immerse me further into the Word. I love the scripture readings, timelines, and discussion questions and appreciate the ample space for journaling my answers and thoughts.
This study is informative, inspiring, and encouraging.

#CoverLoverBookReview received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions are 100% mine.
This excellent little study provided a great introduction or refresher on Ecclesiastes. The flow is clear, logical, and insightful. There is ample space for writing directly in the booklet, which I really appreciated. It made it easier to stay focused and keep all my notes in one place. I especially loved the cross references and charts, which helped me see the whole-Bible connections.
I plan to recommend this resource to my women’s study group. It is exactly the sort of study that my church friends crave and I know it will be encouraging for them, particularly as our pastors preach through Ecclesiastes next year.
Note: I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. My full review can be found on my blog.
Another excellent Bible study by Lydia Brownback. My only thought is that it might have been condensed to something less than 10 weeks. This life is purposeless (vanity) without God. The blood of Christ saves us and gives us hope eternal as well as a joyful life here on earth. There is much application to our daily lives and pointing us to God for the day of judgement is coming for all. We should have that proper fear of God. Content: clean, Biblical
While I was so very excited to start this new-to-me study series with "Ecclesiastes", I did not get beyond the 1st week. Enjoyed the insight and format, however, the author's not capitalizing the Father's name (e.g. him, his, he, etc.) is something I will not support. He deserves the respect of having all references to Him capitalized. I see quite a few devotional authors and even independent publishers doing this and I cannot support them. ~ EB Dailey
I went through this Bible study with a group and found it a bit underwhelming. Many of the questions were confusing or unclear, and I noticed quite a bit of repetition from chapter to chapter. It just didn’t spark much meaningful discussion for us.
While I enjoyed the discussions our group had using this study, it was a little repetitive and I felt that some of the topics were a bit of a stretch for what the text was actually saying.
