Meh. Nothing to write home about. I haven't read any other book from this series (and maybe that could be a contributing factor as to why I didn't enjoy this as much) but after reading this one, I'm not sure if I actually want to. It's not bad per se, a lot of readers might actually enjoy this, it just wasn't something that really captured my attention personally. Finished this in a day too, not because it was so riveting but because I just wanted it over with so I can start another book lol (cause fyi: I'm not a quitter as much as possible and would only DNF a book if a hard limit of mine has been crossed).

When Imogen was younger she professed her feelings to her long time crush Ben Donovan. Ben was a few years older and she thought it would be reciprocated, it wasn't. Hurt couldn't begin to describe her feelings but when she sees him with another girl awhile later she gives up. She explores what is out there but it doesn't make her overly happy in the relationship department.
Ben was told by his boss, Imogen's dad, she was off limits to everyone who worked for him. Ben couldn't deny he didn't feel something for Imogen, he does. He wants to be with her and when her ex decides to mess with her, Ben wants to help. Tired of denying his feelings he acts. Now he not only has to keep her safe but get her Dad on board with their relationship, will he be able to keep the woman who owns his heart?
Another wonderful book in this series. I felt for Imogen and the one thing I can say for this author she writes in such a way you feel the emotions for every character. Has some humorous moments with the other Carter's. Such a terrific family series.

A Carter at heart
I love this book, it had me gripped from the beginning. I love that they all treat her like she's a Carter, as they should she is one of them I think her and Ben are a perfect match for each other, If I had 1 critique it would be that Evan spoke to Ben about being with imogen, maybe just I talk of reassurance like he did with imogen, seen as Ben was so concerned about how Evan would react. But I loved this story it had everything you need In a romance (and a carter) book, great work lisa, can't wait to see where else you take us with the carter's.
This Carter series has helped me through some tuff times, there have been times this last 2 years when iv needed an escape so I want to thank you for that, I don't think you will ever fully know how much joy you books give to people you are truly talented and it boggles my mind how more don't know about you, I hope this changes it the future because you deserve all the success one could handle and more

Her last name may be Smith but she has the Carter craziness and charm. Like every Lisa Helen Gray book, this was an amazing reading experience. I think Lisa puts magic spells in her words because whenever I start a book, I can never put it down until I get to that last word, on the last page.
Imogen was a beautiful character and I felt such a kinship to her. Ben was a dreamboat of a male lead and I fell in love with his protective and alpha nature. The two of them together had this off-the-chart chemistry. I was enamoured with their relationship and the tension they had before they finally got together. They both had feelings for each other but never acted on their feelings until pushed. When they finally got together, it was like a beautiful fireworks show.
The climax of this book had my heart beating rapidly and had tears streaming down my face. I think I stopped breathing at one point because it got intense.
Lisa Helen Gray astonishes me with every book of hers and Imogen was no different. I have such admiration for Lisa's books and I cannot wait to read whatever Lisa publishes next.

It’s been a while since I was in the Carter world and boy did I miss them! The craziest bunch who I would never want to cross!
That twist!!! Oh my god, I couldn’t read quick enough. Had me worried for a minute there that we weren’t going to get our HEA.

Fantastic again
If I could give more than 5 stars I would
Yet again another fantastic book from Lisa that I couldn't put down.
Imogen may not be cater by blood she's a cater through and through.
Can't wait to see who's story is next

The ups a d downs of this book had me on a roller coaster at one point I was laughing so hard then crying! I love the roller coasters Lisa takes us on for her books!

What a fantastic read. You’ve done it again and nailed it. My eyes may have leaked a time or two but my gosh you can write. I’m glad the Carters did not fail to cause mischief and help save the day once more.
