This book is the business! Very clear layout and explanations which make driving seem logical, rather than only a thing that ludicrously confident optimists can do. The extensive practice questions were genuinely useful. It also had some good jokes.
I used the Theory 4 in 1 app for most of my revision and you don't need the separate Highway Code or Traffic Signs books if you get the full version. However I did find this book had some useful info at the beginning of each section that the app didn't cover. The questions came up in the practice tests, but weren't covered anywhere else so the book is good for that reason. The app has the hazard perception clips though, which is a must, so if you only pay for one, go for the app. I bought the book before I discovered the app so I used both, but the book is so much more expensive and the few pieces of additional info aren't worth the extra cost.
Maybe I'm being harsh with my score. I didn't read this because I wanted to, I had to. However, it did get me through my test first time, and a majority of the questions I had was covered by this. So do I recommend it? Hell yes. But don't forget to pass it down to the next poor soul who is about to take their test.
Very informative and easy to follow. The only negative I had was that the end of unit tests often included questions that had not been covered in the unit or earlier in the book instead it was then explained later on. Whilst I did manage to still do ok on these questions it seems a bit daft to include these questions before the reader has read about it. The true result will be when I take my theory exam.
Paired this book with the iPhone app and it’s helped me solidify the information into knowledge. I’ve got my theory test next week and I’m feeling more confident about it since reading this book. Only thing that could’ve been better, is on the question testing. If on the right hand side this had the answers there. As some of the little related descriptors didn’t always give you the answer.
Passed my theory with flying colours first time!!! And it’s all because of this book!
It breaks down everything you need to know for your theory into the 14 sections that they appear on the actual test and gives you numerous past paper questions for every section! It was so great and easy to use!!! I highly recommend!
Incredibly useful resource in the lead up to taking my theory test, with clear information and examples for each section, then an end of chapter quiz. The section that had over 100 questions did make me weep internally but overall I enjoyed using this, the knowledge has boosted my driving confidence
