Himari goes to an all girls' school, so she isn't used to boys at all - her imagined perception of what boys are like terrifies her. To help her get used to being around boys, her friends talk her into confessing to someone. Anyone. They don't think she can actually do it.
So, Himari decides to confess to a boy named Kai, because he picked up a strap she dropped once, and she doesn't really know anyone else. (Well, not that she really knows Kai, but...)
Not at all according to her plan to just ask someone out and then be rejected, Kai accepts her confession, and the two start dating.
And they are just so wonderfully awkward.
Neither Kai nor Himari have had any real experience with dating, or with the opposite gender in general, so their relationship is a series of misunderstandings and well-intentioned plans from their friends not working out very well.
Yet, for all of the opportunities for these mistakes to ruin their relationship, both Kai and Himari accept that they're both new at this, and that these things are bound to happen. It's refreshingly sweet to read a manga relationship that isn't all drama and backstabbing. Or any drama or backstabbing, really. It's just the two of them working on getting used to each other.
(I mean, there is the fact that Himari confessed to Kai solely because she couldn't think of anyone else, and her friends pressured her into confessing to ANYONE, but that's about as heavy as the series gets. But none of that comes into play in the first book, so I'll leave it there for now.)
dua org pemalu jatuh cinta. perlu dorongan semangat dr sahabt mrk berdua utk membantu kedua org tsbt utk menjalin hubungan yg lebih serius (alias pacaran).
proses pacaran mrk berdua tuh unik bgt, lambat, polos dn malu2. utk menanyakan nomor hp aja perlu wkt 3 hr. apabila bertemu d pagi hari. mrk berdua hanya mengucapkan salam sopan. setelah itu berjln dlm diam. kegiatan rutin mrk berdua d pagi hr itu memang seperti itu :D
lucuuuuu wkt cowony mw mengungkapkan perasaanny. buahahaha.. (jd inget sm karakter topeng2an ksatria baja hitam d masa kecil )
yg menghibur itu 3 org dr sahabat cewe dn 3 org sahabat cowo. mrk semua bersatu padu utk mensukseskan kelancaran sahabat mrk dlm berpacaran buahahaha
Himari is very cute, I really loved her, though I wish she had more confidence. Her fear of men is at times just hilarious, though I am sure the boys are hurt. She just dashes away from them. But she does her best, and her friends help her (maybe at times a bit too much and with extreme measures). I don't understand why her typing is so bad though. Isn't she in high school? I know Kanji/Japanese alphabet/writing system is hard, but come on, I would hope someone who is between 12 and 18 years old can write at least well enough without too many mistakes. And if she can't text, just be sure to re-read the text before sending it.
Kai, I really like him. He is a cute boy, and he is really good for Himari. Even wearing a mask just so she isn't afraid of him too much. Telling her he likes her, and saying that she doesn't have to say it back immediately, that he can wait.
The art style is really lovely, soft lines which fit perfectly for this kind of manga.
I can't wait to see how their relationship will develop. I do hope Himari will soon be used to Kai, and boys in general.
I would recommend this manga to all who need a soft, fluffy and funny manga.
