Joyce Stewart is a freelance writer and poet, who is currently employed by Cablevision Systems in Long Island, New York. She at one time considered studying law but after she tried working as a paralegal realized that she was more interested in creative writing.
During her short career choice as a legal assistant, it was then that she discovered her gift and love for writing poetry. She decided to do something at the time that she had not seen – which was framing her poems on elaborate backgrounds and selling them to friends, co-workers and others. Soon she was invited to do poetry readings and spoken word events. A co-worker from her mother’s job entered one of her poems in a contest without her knowledge and it was accepted into their published works.
Joyce is passionate about relationships especially those between a man and a woman. She believes that God has ordained marriage and uses love to keep order and submission between the two. She considers God as the ultimate romantic because as she puts it, He rescued us by sending a ransom in the form of Jesus.
Joyce is originally from Baltimore, Maryland and spent four years in the Air Force after she graduated from high school. She has two children and five grandchildren. Some of her favorite things to do are: hanging with her family, watching a movie, stimulating conversation, fine dining or perfume shopping.
She is a member or SORMAG and internet based magazine for romance novels. Her first novel “The Barbeque:Fireworks Spark” was published on May 5, 2012. Joyce Stewart is scheduled to have a “BBQ Book Launch,” (which is also her birthday) on July 14, 2012 in Westbury, New York.
