THE WORLD NEEDS A HEALTHY AMERICA - ONE WITH TRUE ELECTION INTEGRITY
As a Republican Congressman, a founding member and leader of the House Freedom Caucus, one of the most senior and aggressive Republicans on the House Oversight Committee, and a vocal defender of election integrity, Jody Hice witnessed firsthand how the gradual erosion of Congressional integrity has crippled America's faith in its most essential institutions. From his first day in office, he experienced direct and relentless pressure from career bureaucrats, even in his party, to subvert the will of the American people.
SACRED ELECTION INTEGRITY AND THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE sounds an alarm. If the voice of the people is lost at the ballot box, our Republic will be lost as well. Integrity must rule the day and surpass partisan strategies and yearnings. To be precise, there is but one thing that elections must articulate; the will of the people. That is the true issue.
By highlighting his personal history, from his humble beginnings to becoming an influential member of Congress, Hice will candidly relate his experiences and deal with the topic of election integrity.
However, exposing a problem without solutions accomplishes little more than providing a place for venting frustration and casting blame. Enough with personal venting and blame-throwing! America needs solutions. America deserves solutions. The world needs a healthy America, as does the upcoming generation who will inherit the baton of liberty that we must successfully transfer. Too much is at stake; now is the time to preserve election integrity.
SACRED TRUST is mandatory reading for true patriots looking for the truth and solutions to making EVERY VOTE COUNT!
idk if this book wasnt marketed accurately or if it's my fault for misunderstanding the marketing, but over half of it was essentially just a memoir, which was fine and cool and i developed a lot of respect for jody hice, but it's not what i thought i was getting into? so i was turning every page thinkin like, alright, is it gonna be another day in his life or are we addressing the bigger themes yet?
also maybe this is just a personal pet peeve, but the informal writing style in those autobiographical chapters was a lil offputting...lots of exclamation points, cheesy internal thoughts, literally writing "That decision was dumb!" as he describes turning down an offer to fly aboard Air Force One (again, not even sure why that story was relevant... i think maybe jody hice was just itching to write a memoir about his time on Capitol Hill but was afraid nobody would read it so he wrote it under the guise of a book on election integrity that'd be more likely to have an audience? not sure).
overall, can't say this book was super impactful for me, i think a lot of it was reiterating sentiments i already believe to be true or suggesting solutions that already seem intuitive, but i did appreciate the educational pieces about previous elections with which i wasnt as familiar, or the nuances about how things go down in Washington. but, one qualm... in the foreword, he starts by saying that "the perception of election integrity is just as important as the application of electoral integrity," meaning that not only do we need a system that works, but we also need the American people's trust in the system to work. Being skeptical of an effective system isnt much better than just having an ineffective system. Anyways, then he goes on to describe why he "so deeply abhors Washington, D.C." and that it operates by "delusional trickery" and that he and his wife were "stained by its filthy practices and would never feel the same about politics." I was like, oh okay. word. i don't think that restored much trust in the system.
What an awesome in-depth look into a pastor turned Congressman, what led him to represent his constituents from the pulpit to Congress, the hurdles along the way and why he continued his journey to fight for Georgians.
The author’s fight for election integrity was a fierce one, but the backlash and barriers he encountered were unbelievable! It reaffirmed my convictions of what is going on.
This book was loaned to me by a neighbor who became an American citizen in 2024 because she could see right through the corruption and dirty tricks, and wanted to help vote out the corrupt politicians.
I thoroughly enjoyed Jody Hice’s recollection of his time in Congress. More people need to read this if they have any doubts about election integrity, as it will open your eyes to what goes on behind the scenes in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Well done, Mr. Hice, and thank you for sharing your story.
