I have come back to Arcadia, but all is not as it should be.

An impostor sits on Windhelm's throne, and calling herself Queen. I don't know where my parents are or what's become of them. I don't know where my brother is, or if he's even still alive. And in less than two weeks, Fate itself will hunt me down and end my existence as if I wasn't meant to exist in the first place.

This is it.

If I don't figure out how to fix the mistake I made, Arcadia itself could fall and become something entirely monstrous. I just wish I knew where to start.

The Daughter of Ice and Moonlight is a thrilling spin-off to Katerina's hit fantasy series, The Coldest Fae! If you loved those books, then you're going to love these even more, as we go back to Arcadia and turn to the final chapter in the story of the Winter Kingdom! Now with its original ending.

2.5 - Slow End to an Acceptable Series

I may have felt more invested in this book if I’d just finished its predecessors and started it while already actively into the story, but, reading it after having come down from the others, I felt it was a slow and weak finish for the series. I wish authors would start pacing and ending stories for maximum impact, instead of everyone seeming to feel the need to always write trilogies.

I was disappointed by the weak ending. I was expecting a great closure, more so when the series has been seven books long.

Great characters that accompanied us throughout the story left us at the end without a clue to their fate. It is as if the author was already fed up with this world and was in a hurry to close it no matter what.

What happened to Valerian's friends, did Tallin regain his immortality by rewarding him for his sacrifice, what happened to the children of the Moon? Truly, such a poorly closed ending is odious.

The most remarkable thing about the whole series was Amara's maturity and growth, without giving up who she is, nor her principles, she showed courage and immense love for her kingdom. Although she brought pain and darkness to Arcadia, only her perseverance, strength and courage gave them back a part of their former selves.

The book does not deserve the five stars because of the underwhelming ending.

Short, Sweet, and Totally Magical

Just finished the third and final installment of Daughter of Ice and Moonlight by Katerina Martinez! Like the others, it’s short but totally delightful. As the story wraps up, seeing all the pieces fall perfectly into place is such a treat!!! It feels satisfying and just…right. I love how the characters have grown, the princess figuring her way through trouble, the grandmas being endlessly adorable, and all those cute side characters adding charm and humor. Katerina did an amazing job weaving it all together. This series is a quick, sweet, and magical ride I didn’t want to end!” ✨💖📖
