Sweet shifter romance with a lots of dogs too!
Alyth's Scottish deerhound female who is in heat gets out and runs away. She is later found with Evander and his Irish wolfhound stud. Both of them are hot studs! Now Alyth has to wait and see if she gets purebred deerhound pup or mixed breed pups! In the meantime, Evander is thrilled to meet this intriguing she wolf. But someone seems to want her dog and the puppies too. Can Evander and his pack keep them both safe? Read this to find out.
The pace is fast and the tone is upbeat and hopeful. The storyline is character oriented with a little action and some steamy scenes. The characters are vivid and engaging. You love them all and are happy to revisit old friends from previous books as well. The dogs are well developed characters in the story as well. Enjoy this story, but I would at least read the Highand Wolves series in order, but at my count, this is #41 in the Heart of the Wolf series! They are all a little entwined. And then the Heart of the Jaguar series jumps in sometimes too! If you like sexy shifters with some action and great storylines as well as superbly developed characters, then these are for you! Enjoy!

Evander Cameron is part of the MacNeill wolf pack and he works with their dogs, Irish wolfhounds. One evening, one of the males gets out and finds a female in heat, but she's a Scottish deerhound. Alyth MacBain is trying to breed her dog, but she runs off and meets the wolfhound. Now Alyth knows she might have mixed breed puppies and and won't be able to make as much money. But one good thing comes from the dogs' encounter, Alyth and Evander meet and their chemistry is off the charts. Is it possible that they're mates?
I love Terry Spear's books and this one's no exception. The Highland Wolf series is a fun read as it takes us to the highlands of Scotland. The book's well-written and the characters are well-developed. I was drawn into this tantalizing tale and kept hooked from beginning to end. The story is a quick read, but it gives you action, romance, and suspense. I think it's great that Terry combines the fantasy world of shifters with the real world and gives her readers an amazing story. I loved this book and I'm eager for more.

A cute a lovable story of two dog lovers coming together in a fabulous meet -cute for the ages. Loved how dog-centric this one was. Wish I'd known where it fit in with the whole series though.
