I’d rather set you free when you are ready,
Let my heart bleed."

"I know for certain I am a labyrinth
Of highs and lows,
Lost to the tide"
Excerpt from Breakdown by C. L. Adams
"You had me, devout and desperate, You made me numb, and under anaesthesia I let you go, but how I burn when I think too deeply of you."
C. L. Adams is a writer known for her evocative emotional poetry. Drawing inspiration from her love of the sea and her passion for reading, her work often explores themes of love, loss, and the quiet complexities of life. When she's not writing, C. L. enjoys spending time with her family—her supportive husband and their young daughter—who are her greatest sources of joy and inspiration.
Most recently, C. L. has delved into the challenges of short story writing as well! Inspired by the community of indie authors and her friends who share her love of books.
I like many others have been waiting for the next collection of poetry from this amazingly raw and emotional author, and I'm happy to report that this collection is an all encompassing as the first, if not more so. The incredibly stripped-back nature of these words resonate through your very soul with an understanding and piercing honesty that simply cannot be found in many modern works.
There is nothing hidden here. Everything is true and heartbreakingly powerful and I think many people will be able to associate with this on an incredibly personal level. If you haven't read the first collection, you really need to. This talent needs to be shared.
Time Heals... but no one ever specified how non-linear that time would be.
All of the poems in this collection are touching in different ways, but the above line really resonates with me. As does the one below.
Fall, learn, get back up.
We're all still learning. I certainly am... Yeah, this is a poignant poetry collection that I encourage everyone to read. I'm definitely going to be thinking about it for a while...
