Eryn Scott is the author of heartwarming cozy mysteries. Her novels feature close friendships and strong families because those are the most important things in her life -- a little humor doesn't hurt either.

She calls the Pacific Northwest home and doesn't plan on changing that anytime soon. Eryn loves to hike, horseback ride, knit, ski, and read. She believes musicals are the greatest thing since lattes, even though she's not particularly good at singing or dancing -- hey, a girl can dream, right?

Her first cozy mystery series, Pepper Brooks, is based on some of the greats in classic literature. Each book features a different author from Shakespeare to Austen. Eryn's newest series is set in a little town called Stoneybrook. The Stoneybrook Mysteries follow local jam-maker Hadley James as she solves mysteries in her town's year-round farmers market. From deceased knitters to sabotaged florists, these crafty citizens keep Hadley and her twin brother, a deputy sheriff, on their toes. Pebble Cove Teahouse Mysteries are great for readers who love a hint of paranormal with their mysteries. A Crime in 5C by Eryn Scott is Book 4 in the Morrissey Mystery Series.
This can be read as a stand-alone, but I HIGHLY recommending reading the previous books in the series.

I absolutely LOVE this series, and I get so excited when I see a new book is out.

Meg and Laurie and all the residents of the Morrissey are surprised when Meg's Aunt Penny makes a surprise visit.

Who loves a good scavenger hunt? Well this book has you covered, as Penny brings back the Morrisey Masterpiece Classic, a annual scavenger hunt for the whole building.

Unfortunately, during the competition, a body is found outside, you guessed it, Apartment 5C.

Not only that, but there is also trouble brewing and the future of the Morrisey hangs in the balance.

I loved this book. The mystery is so well done. .

I really enjoy Meg and Laurie's romance; it adds so much to the story.

And Meg's ghostly friend Ripley, well you have to read about that for yourself.

I really enjoyed the pictures within the book of the scavenger hunt clues, so fun and interactive.

Highly recommend!

(a no spoiler review)- I honestly feel like this whole series by Eryn Scott is a hidden gem , and more people should get to know it!! It’s also PERFECT to read during spooky season with a good cup of tea/ coffee and your pet by your side 😌😌

I was so happy to be back at the Morrisey for another mystery with all of these amazing characters!! I loved seeing Meg & Laurie’s relationship and dive deeper into knowing the Morrisey better! I loved loved loved the scavenger hunt element & the fact that there’s a google map link to the places on the hunt! ( so creative⭐️)

this book is the 4th in the series (can be read as a stand alone but 100x times better if you read the series in order)✨

I truly feel like that with each book the series just gets better and better, and I am extremely thankful there are more books to come!!🙈

to conclude, the only mystery I figured out by myself was why this series is so magical; the setting , the characters & the writing combined together create an amazing fictional world you just don’t want to put the book/ kindle down.

5 stars!!!

Loved this book! So many emotions, so much happening good and bad. An answer to a huge secret from the past and so much more. Meg and the Morrissey crew are back and better than ever. I love this series it reminds me of a combo of Only Murders in the Building and the movie Singles. I find it so hard to give a more specific review of each book cause I don’t want to be spoilery. Loved the scavenger hunt and all the sights we got to vicariously visit through it. The visit and meeting Meg’s aunt Penny was fun. And what lovely news for Meg and Laurie too! Just a happy, fun read that also contained a murder mystery to solve. Great series absolutely recommend giving it a go!!.

I always look forward to a return to Morrisey, these books will always have a special place in my heart. They are adorable, quick reads, great plot twists, nothing that is hard to keep up with. The characters are all wonderful and full of life (and not full of life at the same time hehe). I did enjoy the other mystery's a smidge more than this one BUT that does not take away from the fact that I LOVE these books and love seeing the progression between the Morrisey family.

This is another great story in this fun series and I loved every minute. There is only the ghostly best friend Ripley in this book, so no other ghosts to help but that doesn't mean the author had skimped on the fun or the adventure. Instead she has Meg and the gang running all over Seattle and even includes a Google map for any one interested in the sights mentioned. That doesn't mean the story is taken up with useless fact about places you are never likely to visit because let's face it You want to read a mystery not a tour guide. It's just the author has a great way of making her mysteries entertaining and charming and to be honest the Morrisey is the type of place everybody wants to visit, the closest I can think is a bit like the building in friends but with a lot more murders. Speaking of friends that is just what the characters and especially the residents have become over the course of the series. The mystery it's self did take a bit of a step back with everything going on but I still loved it and it did get solved nicely. I can't wait for the next book.
Meg's aunt Penny makes an unexpected return to the Morrisey to sort out a little problem and finds herself being talked in running another treasure hunt for the rest of the residents. The event is run over three days and is done in teams, with the winner winning the coveted trophy. The hunt hits a snag when the dead body of a woman is discovered outside one of the apartments. nobody recognises her or has a clue why she was killed. When Detective Anthony asks for Meg's help, she jumps at the chance to show off her skills at both finding a killer and winning the treasure hunt but can she do it or will she get distracted by her handsome opponent and love of her life?

Shortly after the Morrissey residents receive potentially devastating news, Meg’s Aunt Penny arrives for a visit. Meg hopes Penny will finally give her information on her father, thinking it could help Ripley pass over. But Penny is adamant that her mother’s dying wish was that Meg never know about him. Instead, Penny revives the Morrissey Masterpiece Classic, a scavenger hunt throughout the city. The residents insist that Meg & Laurie have to be on different teams, so Meg partners with Alyssa & Laurie with Opal. Things take a turn when a dead woman is found outside Lyssa’s apartment wearing a designer dress that had previously gone missing from there. Meg is thrilled when Detective Anthony asks for her help. Will she be able to break the case open while still beating Laurie in the competition and coming up with a plan to help the Morrissey?

Book 4 in the Murder at the Morrissey mystery series has much going on. The scavenger hunt serves as a perfect distraction to the changes in store. The competitiveness between Meg & Laurie added a nice dimension to their relationship. I also enjoyed that readers could play along with the Google map inclusion. The emotional tension between Penny & Meg was palpable. It was nice to see Penny recognize Meg’s growth. The mystery itself was well developed and definitely had unexpected twists. As always a great balance between humor and tension. Penny reveals that Meg’s mother believed the Morrissey to be a magical place. Eryn Scott’s talent as a writer truly brings that sentiment to life.

I have loved each book of the Murder at the Morrisey series and this was no exception! Eryn seems to have a gift for writing multiple cozy mysteries in the same setting and giving them each a fresh story that feels totally different from the last. There’s enough of the overarching mystery of the series to have me itching for the next one! Its a quick, easy, and light read.

I love how truly cozy and entertaining this book was. It dealt with some heavier themes in a soft way through Meg and her new experiences and choices. Nothing felt too heavy despite the intense moments the characters were going through. (no spoilers here!)
The touch of romance was also so well done and sweet! I loved that it was realistic rather than being toxic or overly intense.

Overall, this was a 5 star read for me and had everything I look for in a good cozy mystery.
It was clean, entertaining, light hearted, slightly paranormal, and of course cozy with a solid romance subplot, a compelling mystery, and plenty of found family feels!

This series from Eryn Scott keeps getting better and better! I have loved her small town cozy mysteries, but it has been so fun reading this one set in Seattle. It's so interesting seeing everyone in the building and their quirky personalities as Meg works to solve the mysteries each time. The city itself also feels like a character, especially in this book with the scavenger hunt. I love that it includes real places around the city.

This was a great whodunnit and it kept me guessing. I also loved seeing more of Meg and Laurie together. He is a perfect match for her and they are sweet together.

I am looking forward to seeing what comes next for Meg and the residents of the Morrisey!

Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.

This series has my heart. The first in this series got me out of my reading hiatus, and I’ve been a fan ever since.

This next in series is another great addition. Ghosts, murder, mystery, scavenger hunts, and more. The whole cast of characters feels like family at this point. I’d love to live in such a tight knit little community (maybe without the dead bodies popping up).

Another Magnificent Morrisey Mystery!
I truly enjoy this series. The Morrisey family deals with so much mystery and this book is no exception. Meg, Laurie, and ghost Ripley are on the case. Romance, mystery, and an interactive map to The Morrisey Masterpiece Classic Scavenger Hunt, this is a fun read.

I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of the A Murder at the Morrisey Mystery series by Eryn Scott. If you’re not familiar, the series reminds me a lot of the TV shows Ghosts and Only Murders in the Building. It features closed door romance, quirky building residents, friendly ghost sidekicks, and of course, cozy mysteries!

A Crime in 5C is the fourth installment in the series and I loved it just as much as the previous stories. One of my absolute favorite parts of the book was the scavenger hunt FMC, Meg’s, Aunt Penny created for the residents of the Morrisey. I had a lot of fun trying to solve the clues with the characters and learned a lot about Seattle’s Pioneer Square and Downtown districts along the way!

Although I really enjoyed the fashion related mystery, it’s the ongoing story throughout the series that keeps me coming back for more. I can’t get enough of Meg’s romantic relationship with a certain resident, the quest to discover why Ripley (Meg’s ghost bff) hasn’t crossed over, and the secret of Meg’s parentage that has me picking up these books time and again.

Bottom line: If you’re a fan of cozy mystery, sweet romance, and found family, you should definitely give A Murder at the Morrisey Mystery series a read!

In the pages, you will find:

✉️ A fun fact scavenger hunt
👗A fashion related mürder mystery
🏢An apartment building of quirky residents
🤝Found family
👻A friendly ghost bff
📖The 4th installment in the A Murder at the Morrisey Mystery series!

We're back at the Morrisey with Meg and her gloriously eccentric neighbors and the group is competing (against one another) in a building-wide (and city-wide, for those who make it through the first round eliminations) scavenger hunt. While this all seems fine and dandy on the surface, there are TENSIONS underneath. Not because of the scavenger hunt (which does bring out some extreme competitiveness in certain residents), but because the building itself might be in danger of being sold.

Let's just say that Penny's arrival back in town has more to do with the death of the previous owner than it did about the scavenger hunt and leave it at that.

Except, WHOOPS, there's also a little case of murder Meg has to deal with. In other words, not only is Meg trying to win the scavenger hunt, she's also trying to suss out why her Aunt Penny is REALLY in town, and she's trying to figure out who committed a crime. That part of the investigation takes her into the high stakes world of fashion and lets her team up with Laurie (as opposed to working against him in the hunt).

A little danger, fashion, an INTENSE scavenger hunt, and Meg doing what she does best. Which is bringing wrongs to right, I guess. I mean, she's also pretty good at painting and figuring out obscure clues, so maybe solving crime is only ONE of the things she does best. Either way... *thumbs up*

I absolutely adore The Morrisey series with all my heart. I honestly don’t think a series can top this one for me, and that’s going up against romance novels and fantasies. It’s just such a feel good, cozy, murder-mystery every single time.

The idea of having a scavenger hunt plot within the already detailed main plot was amazing. I felt like I was living in Seattle. I learned some new facts that I will take to heart. I might actually plan a trip back out there based on this series alone!

Although I caught on to who the killer was pretty quickly, that didn’t change my opinion about the book itself. I always love how Eryn maps out her stories, and it’s a whole ride to get to the finish line. I also cannot wait to see how Meg and Detective Anthony’s friendship blossoms in the next two books. The character development between them is lovely! Oh…and don’t get me started on how much I love Laurie. I’m also looking forward to getting to know more about Jade and how she might intertwine with Ripley’s passing on.

Once again, I HIGHLY recommend this series. Especially if you’re looking for a quick, cozy, murder mystery. Every book hits different. And this was no exception. I can’t wait to continue reading!

Another awesome book from Erin Scott

Erin Scott is one of my favorite authors - I know I'll read an incredibly well written book with great characters and story-lines, without all the flashy catch phrases that seem to be popular with some authors now. They are books you don't want to put down, and you'll really get to know the people and places she writes about.

This series has so much to offer (you really should read them in order so you will best follow what's going on) - mystery, romance, ghosts, and fabulous connections between the unique characters at the Morrisey.

In this one, Meg's aunt Penny returns to town and is caught up running the annual Morrisey Masterpiece Classic scavenger hunt. One of the apartments is broken into, and then a murder occurs. Meg, Laurie & Ripley investigate. There's a lot more happening, but I don't want to spoil it. I'll just say there are a lot of very touching and emotional moments, and it's a book you'll be so glad you read!

I just loved this book, and can't wait for the next one!!!

Reading this book is like visiting the residents of the Morrisey, a charming apartment building in Seattle. You get pulled into the story right away. There were also a couple characters in the story who weren’t exactly considered residents of the building, but you’ll understand once you read the book.
It wouldn’t be the Morrisey without a mysterious death for Meg, the main resident character, to untangle, with the help of her friends. There is a lot of action in this book – a break-in, a genealogy mystery, a fashion emergency, stolen fashion design, a very fun scavenger hunt, and a change in a major relationship, as well as a former resident returning for a visit.
There is no cliffhanger; however, I cannot wait for the next book in this series. With all the people who live at the Morrisey, I know there will be many storylines in the future. Another enjoyable book by Ms. Scott. The story held my interest, and I most definitely recommend this book.

This is the fourth book in the series about the Morrissey and if you haven't read at least the first book in the series you should do so before reading this book.
I have read and loved all the other books in the series and couldn't wait to read more. I read the book in one day and as always it left me wanting to read more.
Another murder has happened at the Morrissey. Of course Megan and Laurie (with the help of ghost Ripley) have to help solve this crime.
I love reading this series! I like all the different inhabitants of the Morrissey and their meddlesomeness and of course I would like to learn why Ripley is still unable to pass over to the great beyond. The mystery this time was not as gripping as in the other books but as there were so many other things hsppening I really didn't mind.
Can't wait for the next book in the series!.

I have really enjoyed this series from the start and the enjoyable adventures of life in The Morrisey building.
Meg and Laurie are the most adorable and 'scrumptious' characters as main characters with Meg our super amateur sleuth although not forgetting her ghostly best friend Ripley. Between them the make the books, stories and adventures an enjoyable, fun and exciting whodunnit mystery.
Although I have loved all the books so far in the series (on tender hooks for next book) I feel this one struck a cord in me which had me laughing, cooing, intrigued, sad and heartfelt. I especially enjoyed the added bonus of a scavenger hunt element, the clues were fun and as always the residents of The Morrisey made reading this book one lovely enjoyable experience.
Personally, I would love to be a resident of The Morrisey which such characters to live with and excited to see what is next for Meg and her 'Morrisey family'.

Meg and Laurie and all the residents of the Morrissey are surprised when Meg's Aunt Penny returns for a sudden visit. With her return, Penny brings back the Morrisey Masterpiece Classic scavenger hunt, an annual scavenger hunt that brings the whole building together to compete for the fun of the hunt and a trophy. The fun comes to an end though, when a body is found outside the apartment of Meg's scavenger hunt partner, Apartment 5C.

I love this series. It's just the light, escapist, cozy mystery fun I need right now. I very much recommend this series for fans of cozy paranormal mysteries, found family, friendly ghosts, cute pets and light closed door romance.

3.5 B-

I enjoyed the book and the narration, although the mystery in this one takes a back seat to other goings-on. It's set up in the beginning and doesn't come into the story much until close to the end. I hope if there are more the mystery takes up a bit more page space.

One thing I'm not crazy about is the small subplot about Meg's unknown father. Aunt Penny is determined Meg will never know who he is because of something Meg's mom said once. It strikes me as completely wrong for Aunt Penny to make the decidion whether or not Meg gets to find out who her father is. We're talking about a grown-ass adult women being told she can't try to find that information. It irritated the hell out of me.

This series has been on my TBR pile for a few months and since I started reading it, I've devoured it. It's so entertaining! The characters are likeable and I have enjoyed seeing their growth. Meg's aunt, Penny arrives at the Morrissey and creates a fun scavenger hunt around town. I loved this aspect of the book; it was such a fun idea. The places are real, which I thought was neat. This book was packed with storylines; a murder, the building's future in question, Meg's quest to know who her dad is, and Ripley's desire to move on. It was really interesting until the last page. A lot of twists and turns to find the culprit that kept me guessing until the end. It was a great story! I can't wait to see what happens next.

This is such a unique setting for a cozy mystery series and I love it. First, it takes place in a city - Seattle - and second, the cozy part comes from the Morrisey Apartment building, which actually has a personality of it's own. The sense of community among the residents, the older gentlemen who have moved their comfy armchairs into the lobby so they can keep tabs (and a running commentary) on all the happenings inside (and outside) the Morriesy, and everyone has an opinion about everything Meg does! So much fun! And heartwarming too. Even if they do keep stumbling over bodies in their building. :-)

An interesting mystery, in the midst of the annual Morrisey Scavenger Hunt which takes Meg and company all around Seattle, makes for a compelling read. Well, listen in my case.

Another Murder in the Building!

I just love this series, and couldn't wait to read the newest installment. This time, Aunt Penny appears for an unexpected visit and Meg and Laurie are drawn into investigating the latest crimes to befall the building while also competing in the annual building scavenger hunt. Once again I was drawn into the world of downtown Seattle, and into the Morrisey itself. I loved the story and highly recommend it. It can be read as a standalone; however, I recommend that you start at the beginning of the series so you avoid any spoilers.

This installment in the series has the residents of Morrisey participating in a Scavenger hunt that takes place in local places all over Seattle. There is a Google Map link of the sites in the scavenger hunt which is a no-holds-barred competition. A stranger is found dead at the Morrisey and Meg is asked for her assistance. There are a lot of things that happen in this novel and it all leads to a satisfying conclusion. There is also a big secret revealed that will change Meg's life. This book can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Ms. Scott has penned another fascinating mystery set at the Morrissey in Seattle. It was great fun to finally meet Aunt Penny in this book. The scavenger hunt allowed me to visit Seattle's historical and tourists' sites vicariously which I found to be great fun. The mystery was woven around a missing designer dress and a murder and then there is the Morrissey residents possibly losing their home. Plenty of twists and turns with a lovely secondary character who is a fashion designer in Seattle (I would love to see him again in future books). I read it all today because I couldn't put it down.

solid addition to the morrisey series. i love the characters and the atmosphere eryn scott creates in each novel. here i appreciated seeing the growth in laurie and meg’s relationship (so warm) & the fun interactions between the neighbors. this time, i thought the plot itself was a bit all over the place, especially in the middle section. thankfully towards the end it got a lot better. looking forward to the next one (the premise sounds right up my alley)!
