A photographer, her fake girlfriend & a chance to make her cheating ex jealous. I didn’t think it would be hard to be her fake girlfriend, until I realized I was falling in love with her.
Heather Owens: I didn’t plan on moving back to Lovers, Maine until we had found a place to live. But when I found my girlfriend tongue deep in another woman, I realized I was going to need my own place. Luckily, my high school best friend offered me her parents guest house for the summer. Except now my life consists of dodging my ex girlfriend and settling in. I busy myself with my photography especially the infamous Lovers’ Lighthouse— the last place I expected someone to catch my eye.
Sage Brooks: Grad school and work are all I have time for, until a pink haired beauty walks in and I’m convinced this is love at first sight. My desire to know her leads us to the top of the lighthouse, where she blurts that she’s done looking for love. I’m sure my chances are over—until she jokes about needing a fake date to her best friend’s wedding. One in which her cheating ex is also in. I’m all too eager to jump at the chance, even if the idea of it not being real kills me.
But as Heather and Sage get to know each other will the lines between fake and real begin to blur?
Tour of Love is a small town, Butch/Femme, Fake relationship, slow burn, spicy romance. Tour of Love is book 1 in the Lighthouse Lovers series and can be read as a complete standalone.
Shannon O’Connor is a twenty something, bisexual, self published poet of several books and counting. O’Connor enjoys life’s simple pleasures: coffee, reading, traveling, and spending time with her new baby. O’Connor is continuously working on new poetry projects, book reviews, and more, while also diving into motherhood. She loves supporting local indie authors & shops as much as possible.
I honestly resigned myself to a standard contemporary romance with the fake dating trope. I made peace with it and thought to just carry on with the reading until the part where usually the couple would hold back feelings yada yada but the author took a slightly different turn and surprisingly I didn’t hate it. It was a very slight divergence from the typical which heightened my curiosity and then I ended up truly enjoy the characters’ relationship. I’d also like to add that some scenes were authentic/realistic in a way that could happen in real life such as having lactose intolerance issues and ugh I forgot there was one other thing! I couldn’t remember right now but I admired that it was incorporated in the scenes which added more relatability to the story.
Judging by the cover I did not expect it to be a lot sexy but there was lots of that and it was an unexpected surprise. Never do I learn not to judge a book by its cover.
This book is truly remarkable. I have had the pleasure of reading several of Shannon's works, and this one undoubtedly stands out as the finest. I eagerly anticipate delving into more of her literary creations.
The plot was captivating and engaging, leaving me with a desire for more. The chemistry between Heather and Sage was undeniable and believable, and I thoroughly enjoyed the fake dating aspect of the narrative.
It is evident from the outset of this book that the relationship was progressing in a unilateral manner, and I was delighted when it became apparent to both characters that they no longer wished to pretend there relationship was fake.
It is a great story, well-written, and I highly recommend it.

After a messy break up, Heather finds herself back in Lovers, Maine, and plans to spend the summer at her best friend Alana's family guest house while helping her plan her wedding.
Doing her best to avoid her ex while reacquainting herself with her hometown, Heather hits up her favorite spot--Lovers' Lighthouse. There she meets grad student and tour guide, Sage. The pair have an instant connection, and quickly become friends.
When Heather jokingly suggests taking a fake date to Alana's wedding to show her ex (who also happens to be in the wedding) that she's moved on, Sage jumps at the opportunity. Lines blur as the two women grow closer, and their fake relationship turns not so fake as sparks fly between them.
Heather and Sage's story was sweet, swoony, with a good dose of heat. I do feel like the ending of their story was a bit abrupt, but am looking forward to seeing them as side characters in the rest of the series.
What to expect: - photographer + tour guide - sapphic romance - fake dating - small town - slow burn - spice 🔥
Fake dating in a small town is great, until you fall for your pretend girlfriend.

Heather is moving back to her home town. She is still reeling from her break up with her last girlfriend who she caught cheating on her. Heather’s best friend Alana is getting married and she knows her ex will be there too. If only she could stride into the party with a gorgeous woman on her arm, that would teach the cheating ex! When Heather meets Sage she doesn’t know what’s she’s getting into. But sweet Sage agrees to be her fake date to the wedding. Lovers is a tiny town so they’ll have to be seen with each other for their ruse to be believable. Why oh why does Sage turn out to be everything Heather has ever wanted in a woman?
The premise of the story is fun and it’s easy to believe that the two main characters have serious chemistry. It’s great to see them communicate honestly with each other and the physical connection is really, really hot!
I got a little annoyed while reading because I spotted a lot of typos, that was very distracting and it took away from me fully enjoying the story. Although the book is written from both Heather’s and Sage’s POV, I felt the character development was a bit shallow. The whole fake dating spiel starts with Heather needing a date to the wedding, but we never actually see the wedding taking place. I think that’s a missed opportunity.
All in all, not the best story I’ve read from this author but if you’re looking for some spicy encounters, you will not be disappointed!
Thank you to BookSirens and the author for this e-ARC to read and review. I've read several other books by Shannon O'Connor, and all of the others have easily been 3- and 4-star reads. But this one just wasn't hitting that same mark for me. It's definitely a fast paced read, which I appreciated. And I love that the author peppers in a bunch of pop culture references that I adore. But so many things tried to happen and ultimately either didn't go anywhere or straight up did not happen -- like the fake dating happens as a "I need a fake date to this wedding" which is such a good trope, but the wedding didn't happen on-page, so that key turning point is missing. We are introduced to a lot of side characters, friend groups, exes, etc. and it's hard to tell who will be important. I really didn't like that this lighthearted story suddenly had a grave emergency come up, but that also didn't get a lot of time to explore. If we're going to dip into serious emergencies and not just focus on this loved-up couple, that plot has to do something for the characters, or us as readers. Overall, that left me with very "what just happened?!" feelings throughout.
This book was definitely short and sweet and you could definitely feel the love and attraction between Heather and Sage. That being said I feel like this book was lacking. To me this book doesn't feel finished. A big piece of this is that the wedding, the whole reason this fake dating began, didn't even happen. The storyline with Heather's ex was just so flat. I know we saw the ex once but I wanted to be able to see them at the wedding and Heather not even caring because she's happy with Sage or something. I also feel like there were a lot of deep topics brought up once or twice just to never have any other impact. I think they either should have been more involved or just left out. And lastly I would have loved to see more of Heather's friendships especially given that she just moved back to town and they're all in the same place for the summer.
Overall I enjoyed what we had but I think it should have been longer and more in depth. I'm excited to see the other characters in this universe too!
This was a fun book. Heather is returning to her small town home in Maine after a bad breakup in which her ex cheated on her. Unfortunately, her ex and her ex's new lover are coming back to town too. In fact, all her friends are returning to town for a good friend's wedding. And the last thing Heather wants is to go to the wedding stag while her ex, Jane, has her new lover on her arm. At the same time, Heather isn't sure she's ready for a new relationship.
Enter Sage, a grad student finishing her degree, who also works giving tours of the Lover's Lighthouse in this small town, one of its main tourist attractions. Heather shows up, gets a ticket, and Sage is prompted to give her a private tour just because she's so attracted to Heather right off the bat. On that tour, Heather mentions her woes and Sage offers herself up as a "fake date" for the wedding which isn't for a few months yet. Heather accepts.
I give this four stars because the wedding, which drove the idea behind this novel, wasn't included in it and a final confrontation with Jane would have been appropriate, plus there were some typos that should have been caught in editing.
This is still a really good book with a lovely HEA, and it serves as a great reminder for the rest of the series because you've met most of the other characters in this series in this first novel.

Tour of Love is a sapphic Fake dating romance between Saga Brooks a high achieving grad student, and Heather Owens a photographer, who returns home after finding her girlfriend with another woman in bed.
Set in a small town,
I am not quite sure how to think about this novel, but this may be more to do with the synopsis and tropes used to describe the book, than anything to do with the story itself.
The first issue that the story gives is being given the trope of small town, well it could be partly right as it is not set in a major city, other than that the writer Shannon O'Connor was not very good at giving Tour of Love the, the feel of a small town.
The other major issue is the fake dating trope, I am not saying there was no fake dating in fact this was one of the best novels to use this trope, as the story was spread over a wider time period than most of the novels that use this trope, there was some fake dating.
The problem was the reason for the fake dating for Heather, was to make her Ex jealous at a wedding coming up, the thing is at no point in the story is there a wedding, yes events before the wedding happened, but no one walked down an aisle and said I will/do.
Having said that if you actually take the romance between Heather and Sage on its own it was done well the instant connection, the sparks flying between the two, the angst as each one decides if the relationship is more than a front.to show the world.
All in all, Tour of Love Lighthouse Lovers: Book 1 by Shannon O'Connor was a wonderful sapphic romance which really drew me into believing that Heather and Sage had a connection between them.
Things I loved: * The small town scenery * Found family * Sapphic romance (wlw, butch/femme) * Fake dating trope * The spicy scenes
Review: This was labelled as a slow burn but honestly I felt it was really fast paced. From the moment these to characters meet you can feel the chemistry between them. They obviously start out as fake dating which tbh again was really fast paced (I didn’t mind I’m totally into that). I absolutely adored how sage got flowers for Heather not just for dates but sometimes just because. I loved the scenes at the lighthouse and how they both connected and found calm there. The smut was smutting oh my goodness me, I feel like once they finally got together they were so incredibly hot for eachother they couldn’t stop. So the smut in this one is pretty high.
I do wish that we got to see them at the wedding because that’s why they initially started fake dating.. (but I guess we already got that moment where Heather got to show off her “relationship” to her ex when they ran into eachother), but alas I still think it was a great book considering it’s only 200 pages!!
💡Book review of Tour of Love (book 1 in Lighthouse Lovers) by Shannon O’Connor
🩷Tour of Love is part of the complete series of Lighthouse Lovers. This is definitely my first Sapphic romance and wow did Tour of Love blow it out of the water! Such a good book about love, and relationships in all their different forms. I also love the friendships in this book and the situations they overcome. This is also my first fake dating book and do they ever not fall for each other? Obviously I would fall for someone I was fake dating but that’s me 🤣 and these girls know how to have a good time 😏
📸We meet Heather who now finds herself back in her hometown of Lovers, Maine. Lucky for her, one of her best friends offered their parents’ guest house (one of many) for the summer or until she can find a place of her own. Living in a small town can be hard, even harder when you're trying to dodge your cheating ex-girlfriend. Trying to settle back into things Heather decides to make a trip to the infamous Lovers’ Lighthouse. Who would have known there was more than history waiting for her there.
💪🏻Sage isn’t one to believe in love at first sight but when a pink haired beauty walks into her summer gig at the Lighthouse. Needing to know who this beautiful woman is, Sage offers her a private tour of the Lighthouse before it opens to catch the gorgeous sunrise. Somehow Sage jokes about wanting to find love and the pink haired beauty jokes about needing a fake date to her best friend's wedding. It’s an invitation Sage can’t turn down.
🛄Take a trip to Tour of Love to find out what becomes of Heather and Sage.

The first book in O’Connor’s new Lighthouse Lovers series, Tour of Love sets the tone for what is sure to be a fun ride.
Set in Maine, the story follows Heather who recently moved back to town and Sage, the grad student working her way through school.
Heather is keen to build her photography business and just as importantly, avoid her ex. The first task is going well, the second? Well, that’s where we meet Sage. Attraction is instant, but Heather is avoiding relationships. So Sage and Heather enter into a friendship as fake girlfriends.
As you can imagine their simple plans get complicated when they begin an affair. Heather and Sage are fun. How they relate and work through their relationship to find their happiness is sweet and yes, very sexy.
One of my favorite things about this book was the glimpses we see of their friends and the story arcs that Shannon is sure to bring to the series as it moves along.
Shannon O’Connor is fast becoming one of my go to authors. I find her style very honest and engaging. I look forward to other books in the Lighthouse Lovers series.
I loved reading about Sage and Heather! What a page turner. They made the perfect “fake” couple. The question is will they make their relationship real. The chemistry is definitely there so anything is possible. Heather and Sage share one thing in common-cheating exes.
Heather meets Sage where Sage is doing Lighthouse Tours. Right from the beginning they got along so well. Heather needs a date to her friend’s wedding and Sage agrees. Their friendship soon has sparks flying between the two. As they hang out more, it seems they are both developing stronger feelings toward the other. Will they let each other know how the other feels? Wait til you find out.
This FF romance will have you cheering on Heather and Sage as they navigate through their friendship/relationship. Sage is such an amazing woman always holding doors and bringing flowers to Heather. It’s definitely the simple things in life that make you say aah!
I put off writing this review because while I LOVED the MCs and the first half of the book the second half fell very, very flat for me. I felt the characters lost some dimension once in a relationship. Not only that but a major plot point (that was the whole reason for the main trope) never actually happened. I finished this book feeling like I was led on, and it was a huge bummer considering how much I enjoyed the first half. I have read several of this authors books and they all hook from the start, but I have noticed a pattern of falling a bit flat at the end. Never to this extent though. I’m not sure where this book falls in terms of the author’s writing and if it’s a newer or older book, as that could be part of it. I just really wished this book had more follow through because the first half was probably my favorite writing by this author.

this was very cute and easily digestible, which is exactly what i wanted! this was also glaringly 2016 millennial-esque which doesn’t detract from the story but i think the people deserve to know✊🏻 the relationship between the main characters is very cute and there is no annoying miscommunication/breakup over something stupid, so that’s always a plus. i also have SO many questions but i know this is just one book in the series so i WILL continue reading them.

***edit bc i don’t wanna take away from how much i enjoyed this but 1) there are typos and some inconsistencies that might drive you crazy if you’re like me, 2) they introduce lots of characters and characteristics/events that are not fully developed, and 3) the wedding isn’t included in the book abt a fake date for a wedding? giving grace bc it’s a series and also keeping my rating bc it does reflect my enjoyment, but…yeah
Photographer Heather moves into one of her friend’s parents house and meets grad student and tour guide Sage. A fake relationship attempt that’s a bit of hit and miss for me. Although both claim not to be interested in dating, they seem to instantly like each other. Instead of dating because they like each other, they start to fake date - but only in name. They actually seem to date for real. Sage’s BFF trauma seems a little brushed off to make any sense as to why is it even in, there is no real benefit to it. Same with the cheating ex, no arc from that, no development. Also, the whole reason for this fake dating idea, the wedding, is not even in the book. There are positives to this book, some spicy scenes and setting the scene for the rest of the series as well. Free ARC from BookSirens.
Somewhere between 2 and 3 stars for me. The idea of the book was so good, and was so cute to start. I love a good fake dating trope. It started feeling quite rushed though, and the plot was advancing quickly. There were a lot of side characters and it was hard to keep track of all their stories, and it almost felt like we were seeing more of their lives than the MC’s relationship. The ending left me confused, as we never see the wedding the fake relationship started because of; and the 2 epilogues were current events and not any sort of future resolution. It made me wonder if I was somehow missing some pages. I did like the story and Sage and Heather were very cute together so I did overall find it enjoyable, just feels like I’m missing something.

This was a really nice story and I liked how the story and their characters developed. It is probably one of the nicest fake relationship novels that I've read in the last few months, as there was not much angst between the two main characters. The only thing that bothered me a little was the fact that there were a few small spelling/grammatical errors, which disturbed the reading flow a little, so that's why it doesn't get a 5 star review from me. So if you want to read a light and comforting book, this is definitely a good choice and I look forward to the next instalments in the series, as the couples it will have as main characters were already hinted at in the book. I also hope to see the actual wedding they started their fake relationship for in thos books.
This was the cutest read! I read this straight through and enjoyed every minute of it. I love a good fake dating turned lovers in a small town. I like how Heather and Sage were so sweet with each other and only had hearts in their eyes for one another, they were a perfect match. What's better is having so many friends who care about you. There was also a good amount of spice, which was an added bonus to the story. Everything about it was adorable and I'm excited for the next book as it's apart of the friend group! If you enjoy a FF, small town, fake dating turned lovers then I 10/10 recommend. 😊
After catching her girlfriend cheating on her, Heather is done with love. However, she doesn't want to go to her best friend's wedding single....
Sage is busy with her job and studies, but is instantly drawn to Heather. As they start to get to know each other, Heather jokes she could use a fake date for the wedding, and Sage volunteers.
But can they fake date with all this chemistry between them?
Good book, much like Shannon O'Connor's other books. I liked Heather and Sage, and the wider cast were interesting. It's the first book of a series, and you can tell she's setting up bits for the next two novels. But overall, good plot and story....
This is the first book of a new series and sets the scene for the following books. Sage and Heather fake date so that Heather can attend her friend’s wedding and not look like a singleton saddo to her ex. Sage just wants to see more of the girl who caught her attention immediately at Lover’s Lighthouse where she works part time whilst attending grad school. It’s a fairly steady story, where, as always, the lines blur between fake and real. Both MC’s are likeable and an assortment of friends play supporting roles till it’s their time to shine in their own books. It’s a story to read when you want a pick me up with very little angst.
Heather Owens is a little lost. Her relationship has imploded, and she is now homeless and heading to a wedding where her ex-girlfriend will be showing off the new love of her life.
How can she save her a little face… by taking a hot date of course.
She has some emotional baggage and she’s not ready for the real thing, so a fake relationship sounds about perfect.
Enter Sage Brooks the hot lighthouse tour guide, she just might be the answer to all Heather’s problems.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to catching up with these characters again in the next instalment.

Like her other books I enjoyed the characters and the story. The story was realistic and didn’t feel rushed in the emotions of the characters. Heather and Sage work well off of each other and balance each other well.
The only drawback I had was that the story didn’t have any drama. While it was realistic in how a relationship would start and growth when reading a book you want a little bit of drama that was missing from the story. It was still a fun read and worth the time.

While it's not much different from other lesbian romances, I loved this story. The characters are so different and dynamic. Being able to understand their personalities is always my favorite part of these stories.
I would've loved a little more details on the characters background or scenes with deeper conversations between the characters.
Would definitely recommend to those who are interested in lgbt romances.
I really enjoy Shannon as a writer and I think she gave us more depth in this story. I loved the touches of anorexia and grief. She finally gave us a butch main character! Sage and Heather are so perfect for each other. Fake dating tends to confuse me but their story played out nicely. Slight spoiler so stop here if you don't like them, I really wish we had the wedding scene-I thought that was the main focal point of the plot but it was still a sweet love story. I look forward to continuing this series.
"A powerful exploration of past relationships and new beginnings"
"Sexy lovemaking scenes"
"Hot, Sexy, Exhilarating"
The two main characters Sage & Heather have both been cheated on and are keeping their hearts shielded so they don't get hurt. When a "fake" romance is needed the walls are not up and feelings start to grow. This was a heart warming feel good story. **I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.**
I really like how Shannon has had characters from other series crossover for cameos in her stories. As you read her stories you'll notice this in every one. Heather and Sage each have things to figure out in life and take different paths, but end up in the same small town, then things get interesting. I am a big lighthouse fan, so that is a big plus for the book. It's a quick and fun read with some spice.
I read an Advance Copy of this book and am leaving this voluntary review based on my personal reading experience.
I loved Heather and Sage’s story. Heather was getting over an ex-girlfriend who had cheated on her and knew that maybe she wasn’t ready to date. But then Sage came along, and there was this chemistry in the air, and suddenly, a fake relationship for an upcoming wedding was formed. Little do they know their fake relationship has a wild mind of its own, and where there’s a lighthouse, there’s a way!
This is the first book in the Light House Lovers Series, and it is good. I loved Sage and Heather’s love story. It is sweet with a lot of heat. I am really hoping Norah gets her own book. There may be some triggers, but the author does list them in the front of the book. As always Shannon handles them very well. This is a book you won't want to miss. I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book was cute. I kept expecting a horrible problem or conflict, but that never came. This is a very cute, cozy romance. Sage and Heather are both great characters, each with their own style and problem. There were a couple of spelling errors, but it didn't take away from the story. I can't wait to read the rest of the series. Would definitely recommend for an enjoyable light reading. I'd like to thank BookSirens for my e-copy of this book.
The heart break and fear of getting back out there after being cheated on is the worse thing ever. So I can understand what Heather is going through when she moves back home to Lovers, Main and meets Sage. Who in my opinion is totally awesome and knows what she wants. Well, most of the time anyway.
Did I mention that I am obsessed with the name Lovers, and will be googling to see if it’s a real town in Main or not cause I’m gonna be moving if it is.
