A love that’s spanned the ages
Scorching desert landscapes, miles of garishly painted sandstone, forests of massive columns, elaborate rituals, as well as soul sucking darkness have haunted my dreams ever since I can remember.
My name is Tari Muth. I am an American grad student majoring in Egyptology and embarking on a year-long internship with the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo in search of answers. Touring Egypt beforehand has me feeling as if I am a stranger lost in the familiar. I know these places as if I’ve visited before.
I’m chased by shadows and am rescued by a handsome male I’ve only met in my recent dreams. He is dressed in a linen kilt and the nemes crown, and wields the power of the Ancient Egyptian gods. He is Pharaoh, Ramses II, caught between this world and the next. He recognizes me as “the One for Whom the Sun Shines”, his beloved Nefertari, his Great Royal Wife, reincarnated. He needs my help to return to his rightful place in the afterlife and calm the chaos building within Egypt.
The more time I spend with the pious, insufferable, stubborn, oddly protective, and yet wildly charismatic Ramses, the more I find myself falling for the handsome Pharaoh despite my best efforts. Specific memories from my past life with him surface and before I know it, I am in over my head.
When it's time to part, how I will be able to say “till I see you again”?
