I really enjoyed reading this children's book, which is part 2 of the story about a little pelican who is trying to get into the Pelican Squad, His grandfather encourages him to do well and with the energy of his late Dad behind him, he gives it all he has to try to get the place he wants. Grumpy the Iguana and the Green Parrot are both watching in the audience and cheering him on.
The images in the book are fun and quirky and the text is easy to read. I have read nearly all of the Grumpy the Iguana books and have enjoyed them all. Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

The Little Pelican finds himself at the edge of his future—will he win the spot on the Prestigious Pelican Squad, or will he face disappointment, as he did in the first trial in book one? That cliffhanger from the previous book is enough to make anyone want to speed-read this follow-up story.
From the start of this book, readers will learn exactly what practicing the Law of Attraction and positive thinking is all about. The Little Pelican has his affirmations, and he knows how to use them. He spends time using visualization, calling the win to him... and all of us readers can do is hope the universe works in his favor. Even when the other pelicans voiced their doubts about the Little Pelican's abilities, and even in his own nervousness, he still held his head high and stayed focused on the task at hand.
Then -- another cliffhanger happens. Luckily, this one is fleshed out in the same book. There is some trouble during the tryouts, but the Little Pelican flies in to the rescue. Without giving away anything, let's just say the Little Pelican proved he can do things just as well as those bigger than him, whether or not he has the "title" to prove it!

Cute moral tale
THE LITTLEST PELICAN PART 2 is a cute story about doing what is right even when it may not be in one's best interest.
The story is simple enough for young children to understand when read to but will also hold the attention of young readers in early elementary school.

This was a lovely sweet story about a young pelican - this is the second of two parts.
In the book the little pelican is trying to follow and chase his dreams but he falls short time and time again. He wants to be just like his grandfather and to join the Pelican Squad - we left the first book on a bit of a cliffhanger so I was keen to see what happened and how the story ended with this final part.
The book is well written and it is easy to follow. The illustrations in this book are great and they really suit the story and I loved the ending too - it is a create two-part story
It is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended and would love to read more about the little pelican and his grandfather in future books

THE LITTLEST PELICAN is a heartwarming children's book about a young pelican who learns to believe in himself despite what others say. The art was very cute and super child friendly. However, some of the language didn't feel entirely fitting for the target age group (words like 'prestigious' for example) and might confuse some children.
The book does include some heavy subject matter at certain points so this may not be the right book for your child if he/she doesn't handle those topics well. The overall story is very sweet though, and the message is something really important to learn about self acceptance. A great choice if you're looking for a quick but meaningful children's book with super cute illustrations.

We really enjoyed part 1 of the Littlest Pelican in our house and couldn’t wait to start reading part 2.
The second part of the story follows the Littlest Pelican as he trains up ready for his second attempt at the tryouts.
This one focused on staying positive, coping with grief and never giving up.
The same endearing illustrations from part 1 continue in part 2 which didn’t disappoint. Part 2 really lived up to expectations.
