Welcome to Bookend Bay where the coffee is spiced, the ghosts are cheeky, and midlife is murder. An OCD twin from a parallel universe. A meddling ghost. A desperate plea for help. Is it time for Quinn to accept her role as an apron-wearing crusader for justice? With her new café bustling, Quinn is trying everything to understand the bizarre turn her life has taken, even visiting a haunted house to find answers. But when her best friend Toni’s cousin shows up with a suitcase, a mysterious man, and a vow to leave her abhorrent husband, Quinn must now decide how far she’ll go to help. Is breaking into a safe too far? Things take a drastic turn when the police arrest Toni’s cousin for murder. Faced with a slack sheriff, a growing list of suspects, and a missing fortune, the two midlife friends band together while Quinn grapples with the ethics of using her invisible, parallel-life twin to get to the truth. Will Quinn’s connections with entities from other dimensions help or hinder her? If you like fast-paced, fun, light-hearted stories that keep you guessing, you’ll love A Spirited Vengeance, book 3 in the Midlife is Murder paranormal cozy mystery series.
Clare Lockhart writes light-hearted, paranormal, cozy mysteries featuring middle-aged sleuths who are going through a few changes. Some are welcome (freedom to live the dream) and some not so much (supernatural abilities and a rash of murders).
If you like reading about best friends who find themselves in the odd pickle, twisty murder plots, and cheeky, paranormal visitors, then you’re in the right place.
Clare lives in a small town, a stone’s throw from Lake Ontario, in Canada, and has recently taken up sailing with her partner John. Sailing has to be one of her most challenging and rewarding life experiences. She loves to read, of course, travel and is a bit of a foodie.
Clare comes by her interest in the paranormal honestly. Her dad loved this stuff, so it was natural for her to believe there was more to our world than we perceive. Therefore, you may find a ghost, a psychic witch, and even a parallel universe in her stories.
She also writes time travel romance under the pen name Sharon Clare.
I wanted to give 4 stars, but there were too many errors! Don't authors believe in proofreaders anymore? What is the ARC team doing? WHY are so many books, like this one, being published with glaring errors???
A paranormal mystery with great characters and small town feel. Quinn her best friend Toni and her parallel twin Brielle. Investigate when Toni's cousin is suspected of killing her husband. Quinn also has to juggle her Thyme Cafe. While trying to help her friend clear her cousin. There are several suspects and motives. I love the overall characters and the investigation is done well. I had no idea who it was that did it
A ghost twin, insurance scam at auto repair shop & owner is murdered!
I loved the first two books and number three is great too! Quinn has a ghost twin. Read the book if you want to understand that. There is another ghost who ends up helping in her own way. One of the two owners of a local auto repair shop is murdered and his wife is arrested for it. Our heroines scramble trying to solve the murder and keep the store going. Really enjoyable story.
I really liked the idea of having a twin in a parallel universe that could pop in on the main character - just seems fun to me! The friendship between all the ladies trying to solve a murder, plus a ghost, sounded very genuine. Great mystery that kept me on my toes.
I enjoyed reading this surprising ghostly mystery. Lots of new sightings popping up from unexpected folks alongside some paranormal surprises. Quinn and Toni had their hands full trying to keep up with their suspects. A great secund book in this series.
This series is so cute. Such a strange wonderful adventure. Very unique. Having an invisible twin. It's a new one for me, I'm hooked. Can't wait to start the next book😁
A friend's husband is murdered at the garage where he was a partner, and his wife, Toni's cousin, is arrested. Quinn and Toni, with the help of the "twin" and a ghost, need to solve it. Interesting characters and moments of humor.
3.5/ I have really been loving this series I think it is such a cozy spooky series. I just had to deduct points because of how many typos there were. Hopefully the rest of the series has been proofread!
This is another amazing page turner! I'm hooked on this series and can't wait to read the next book. The suspense had me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. This is definitely worth recommending.
This was a really good book. We have a ghost, a woman from another dimension, and two women trying to solve a murder. The story is filled with humor and twists.
