I’ve always known it’s not safe to want the things I want. Especially not at home. It’s why I’ve always kept them a secret. So when my mother’s latest boyfriend discovers what I’ve been hiding, I run, even though I’ve got nowhere to go.
DASHIELL DAVIS knows it's not safe to want the things he wants.
At least, not while he's living at home. It's why he keeps his desires a secret, and why he's saving up to get away. But when his mother's latest boyfriend discovers what Dash has been hiding, there's no time to save anything. Dashiell has to run.
Even if he's got nowhere to go.
CALLUM MOORE knows it's not right to want the things he wants.
At least, not outside of the business world. Taking charge of his company and ruling it with an iron fist may have brought him success in the boardroom, but in the bedroom, he's convinced himself that it's not healthy to want that level of control.
Until he finds a boy who needs it.
In Daddy's Care is a 36,000-word gay romance featuring an age gap, a barely legal virgin who likes pretty things, a Daddy who tries to deny that he wants to be one, an interfering piece of sass who likes to stick his nose into other people's business - well, mostly just his uncle Cal's, but eventually Dashiell's, too - and a gift from Daddy that finally makes sweet little Dash feel... secure.
Publishing History: This novella was first published in the 2023 Dirty Daddies Pride anthology. No substantial changes have been made to the story.
I’m just not feeling this and have been skimming a lot of this without even meaning to. While Daddy kink isn’t my thing, pretty sad boys, lingerie and chastity devices are right.
I really enjoyed the other book I read from Chara, but even once the cage came out, I was still just very bored with this story. Which probably has a lot to do that for almost the entire 71% I made it through, Dash and Callum aren’t even interacting. I think Dash has had just as much on page time with the nephew, which would be fine if this was going to be a threesome… but it’s not.
Too drawn out, especially for something so insta- everything. Yawn.
veeeeery cute and swoony. the ending was a bit abrupt, more abrupt than it usually happens with some of chara croft's books. but overall i enjoyed this little story, although it's not among my favourites by chara.
Cute sad boy meets hot rich dommy Daddy. Cages, lingerie, pretty much insta-love. I love that the nephew helps set boundaries between the two. Callum understands there is quite the power imbalance, and ultimately agrees with his nephew's thought process (even though he really just wants his baby in his bed). Very cute and I quite loved it.
