I’ve followed the author on Instagram for a while and have loved her content, which is informative, educational, and often entertaining. When she announced her book, I knew I had to purchase it for my own use and also to support her. The book is highly educational, information is accessible, and suggestions are easily implemented. The full color pictures demonstrating exercises are great. I love that this resource now exists for people who want to improve and maintain their pelvic floor health and may not have access to qualified providers.

I pre-ordered this book months ago and was so excited to finally receive it this past week! It takes fairly complicated concepts and breaks them down into digestible information while still keeping the reader entertained in a way that most health books fail miserably at. If you had or think you have a pelvic floor condition, then this is a great book to pick up!

Otherwise, I felt that as a practicing clinician, I didn't gain much from this book. It was all very basic, and I must have misinterpreted some marketing bc I thought there were supposed to be some intermediate concepts for pelvic floor PT. However, if you are a fresh new grad getting into pelvic floor or a seasoned PT that is just starting to treat pelvic floor, this book is a great place to start to give you some ideas.

Dr. Jeffrey-Thomas continues to amaze me with her clear and approachable communication about pelvic floor health, from social media to now this incredible book. As both a PT and a patient myself, I appreciated her clear, casual, taboo-free approach to all things pelvic floor, and her inclusion of diagrams and (pg) photos when discussing techniques, exercises, and tools. She also was clearly very conscientious of using inclusive and trauma-informed language, which is important since literally everyone has a pelvic floor, and this could hopefully help more people feel comfortable and safe with the idea of seeking care from a pelvic floor PT - though this book gives patients an excellent head start if it’s not accessible to them.

I’m primarily a fiction reader, so I usually read any non-fictions at bedtime so I don’t get too caught up in “one more chapter”ing, but this non-fiction sure didn’t play nice with my insomnia - I couldn’t put it down! I look forward to referencing it regularly when I need refreshers on my PF management.

Simply put: this is all the 💩 we should have learned in health class (pun intended!)

This is a must have on your bookshelf for anyone that has a Pelvic Floor (aka — you, yes, YOU)! I can’t emphasize enough how seen I felt reading Dr. Alicia’s words; myth busting a lot of “down there” etiquette we had been taught, or told “that’s just how it is”. There’s also exercises and “how to’s” to encourage you to become familiar and advocate for yourself because you deserve to be cared for!

One of my favorite takeaways from this book is just because something is common, doesn’t mean it’s “normal” or is something that’s 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟.

Education is Power. Empower yourself and grab your copy today!

Bought this is a gift for my sister who was having her first baby, it was very helpful. She started implementing the info right away and will continue to reference it in the future to help with her recovery.

Amazing resource for those of us who deal with pelvic pain, male or female. Frendos, this is great book to have in your endo took kit! The science is broken down in an easily digestible way. Diagrams show the anatomy of the pelvic area (male and female) and photos illustrate exercises. Alicia’s humor shines through and makes this sensitive topic less awkward. I wish I had this book before my laparoscopic surgery!

Excellent starting guide to pelvic wellness

This book is a very helpful starting place for people with pelvises (which by the way is everyone!) to educate themselves and take control of their health. It has basics on pelvic anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, and exercise, but it is presented in a very approachable way that is easy to understand.

Alicia takes a very straightforward and light hearted approach to teaching about the generally "hush-hush" topics--pee, poop, and sex-- things I would have benefitted from learning more about earlier in life! She also provides practical tools including self exam and exercise strategies to start the process of better pelvic health.

This book is AMAZING! Dr. Alicia Jeffrey Thomas lays out so much valuable information about pelvic health in a way that is easy for anyone to understand. I love how inclusive she is in discussing the common issues people of all genders experience. I cannot recommend this book enough to anyone and everyone! Great resource for someone who may not have access to PFPT or may not be ready to take the first step into a in person evaluation. It truly feels like she is talking directly to you as you read through all her helpful analogies and strategies. ❤️💩

I learned so much reading this book that I didn’t even know I needed to know. If that makes sense.

I thought this book was for people in the medical/pelvic floor space, but it’s for everyone with a pelvic floor (which is everyone). A quick read that will pay in spades.

I recommend this book for everyone. Very informative about what the pelvic floor is and how it works. Included information for if you’re having specific problems and issues. Gives you so much information to take to your doctor. I had to have my PC refer me to a GYN to send me to PT. I really love the associated exercises in the book!! The pictures are informative and helpful. My only suggestion would be updating her YouTube channel with videos for each exercise. Fantastic book. Five stars. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed reading this book! The information presented was so easy to understand and I loved all of the diagrams and photos. As a fellow pelvic PT I have already started changing the way I communicate certain concepts— I especially love “close the Easter egg” for postural cueing. Well done, Dr Alicia Jeffrey-Thomas!

Thought this was a really great explanation of pelvic anatomy, issues that can occur, exercises which can be tried at home, and how to go about seeking health care. The layout and pictures made everything super easy to follow and approachable!

As a practicing Pelvic Health PT, this book reaffirmed everything that I am practicing in my own clinic. It clearly laid out in friendly language many topics that are either complicated and/or not commonly talked about, and I found it to be very digestible. The accompanying visuals are great, and the flow of the topics covered is seamless. If I were someone with no pelvic health knowledge, this feels like a great wealth of information that is empowering for people to take charge of their pelvic health.

I have already advised many patients, friends, and family to buy and read this book! Dr. Jeffrey-Thomas crushed it!

Right in the beginning, this book states that it's been written for every body (all sizes, shapes, and genders). And that's who should read this book--literally everybody! The author explains complex medical information in a way that's not only easily understandable but humorous. I never would have thought that a book about pelvic floor disfunction would make me laugh out loud, but this one did! I was so engrossed that when my library's copy came in, I read the entire book in a day. Then I ran out to buy my own copy so I can add sticky notes and flags to reference back to. This is the kind of book that can literally be life-changing. So what are you waiting for? Go read it!

A nice practical overview of the field, but I thought the organizational structure was difficult to follow and there wasn’t a lot of in depth info about any particular issue. The self assessment was helpful but then there was not a lot of guidance on interpreting the results. I could see it being really helpful for someone who can’t actually go see a PT for whatever reason but for me it was a little redundant (which is good I suppose)
