I have watched Genna's YouTube channel for nearly a year. Although I have tried amigurumi many times, the outcomes have ranged from disappointing to scary! Genna's demeanor is enthusiastic and encouraging. I pre-ordered this book while watching her announcement for publication. I patiently waited for the release, and I'm so pleased. The book is beautiful, and I have already made a list of new friends to crochet. This book will be helpful to those new to the amigurumi world and fun for the more accomplished maker. I will recommend this book to my friends!
-4 stars. lots of very cute color photos. contains tutorials with pictures.
all the animals are splayed out on their stomachs, head down, legs sticking out to the sides. which is fine for a turtle or ladybug, but looks funny on the brontosaurus and giraffe.
I enjoyed this creative set of patterns from the creator of CrochetByGenna. The patterns are readable and the book covers a wide variety of fun critters. I would recommend this book to anyone who is excited about trying well-written, cute, no-sew amigurumi patterns!
After making the dragon, I think I have determined that the no-sew style is not my favorite for more complex amigurumi, because I struggled to get the many pieces to line up (e.g. feet, wings, horns, ears). Tatu does a good job explaining how to account for differences due to tension, but I ended up having to frog a number of times to get everything straight. I personally would rather just sew limbs on after and make sure they're straight that way, but that's a personal preference.
I really liked the patterns in here. I was interested in these:
Outgoing Opossum Playful Platypus Mighty Mallard and Fabulous Fish (look like they could be a good dog toy) Agile Axolotl Darling Dog (pug) Mysterious Mouse Gracious Guinea Pig Crafty Caterpillar (this one is sooo cute!!) Lovely Ladybug Savory Sushi Mellow Mushroom Cute Cake
Great book for crochet patterns. I used these for rewards for my students "custom crochet" and they love them. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because some patterns don't work up correctly, but I heard she is either fixing them or already did!
First made the panda to add to my other crochet gifts for my new soon to be great-grandchild. Easy to follow directions. These are small animals which exactly what I wanted. A quick project. All projects have color pictures to view.
