Amazingly funny! This last book in the series was all I ever hoped for in an ending, I feel it was the best in the series overall, the characters all came together in unisom, beautifully written, I can't believe it is the end!!!!!!! This is up there with my most favorite reads of 2014. I only wish for a spin-off, for many of the charaters that helped make this series are wonderful and so interesting, that to find out what happens to them after Chace and Skye get their HEA, would be awesome!!.
I fell in love with this shifter world in book one and fell harder in this book. I love how Sky and Chace just fit together, despite their differences. The chemistry between them is great. I enjoyed the humor, action, and romance - Lizzy Ford does a good job of interweaving all three. I highly recommend this series to all paranormal romance readers.

My Review~ Remind everyone that this is an adult read. The cover is stunning I really just starred at it for a while due to the hotness. Stunning Model on the cover. I absolutely love the lightening in the background. The conclusion to this series is simply amazing and when it stopped I was like "What NO!! It can't be already over!!!" I then preceded to go back and read it again just for the sake of being with Chace! I really hope this author makes a side series from this dragony adventure. I really want to know Gunner and Mason's story. I love the characters and the cabin with the personality of a vengeful woman is too funny! I love the cabin's personality and what it does to Chace. This author is so awe-inspiring. She knows how to captivate and enthrall the reader and leave them wanting more. The other books I read by her was just as captivating as this one. Love the writing style and the easy flow it has. Okay I'm in LOVE with this series and is one of my favorites now. LIZZY IF YOU ARE READING THIS NEED MORE SHIFTERS...PLEASE! Would you take a leap of faith if it meant life or death for the one you loved?
Amazon Book Description~ Skylar struggles to save both the shifters and the slayers, but falls prey to the mastermind behind the disappearances of both. The last installment to the series, and it was well worth the wait.
This book picks up where book 2 leaves off. Skylar is with Mason at one of the secret slayer compounds while Chace has been left by The Field with those shifters who survived the attack that resulted in the death of Gavin, Sky's father. He still doesn't have his magic and she is trying to figure out what Mason and his "boss" want from her. Skylar knows she is the protector, but doesn't know what her gift is nor what it means to be a protector. Mason is trying to help her figure out what her gift is, but isn't necessarily out to use her even if his boss is. Skylar just wants to learn what happened to her mother and help the shifters without having to kill anyone. Her hope is to be able to resolve things between the dragons and griffins without starting a war. Meanwhile, Chace hopes to be able to regain his magic, obtain Sky's forgiveness and win back her love, and help her lead the shifters even if it means killing those trying to start the war.
In this final book, the answers to all of the questions I had, including what happened to Sky's mother, whether Sky and Chace will get back together, will Chace get his magic back, and will they defeat Dillon, his griffins and the slayers will be answered.
Although shorter than a typical novel, the story comes along nicely and is truthfully one of my favorite books of the series. I absolutely love Gunner, Chace, and Mason. I think Sky has a great bunch of guys in her corner and I was happy to see her grow into the character that I knew she could be. She wasn't perfect, although who is, but I also thought she made some mistakes too and was glad to see she acknowledged those in this book. And of course, I'm a sucker for happy endings so ecstatic with where we ended up. I'm almost sad knowing this is the last book.
I fell in love with this series from the first book I read and have been happy with it ever since. This is the last book in the trilogy and brings everything to a close with a flair. The characters have evolved through the books to be even more real and emotional. The landscape is described in great detail and allows you to be a able to visualize it and the people who inhabit it. They sound like the people next door and you have no problem keeping up with what they are talking about or who, even if some names are a bit unusual. This kept me reading and interested from the start and it was hard to put it down.
Chace and Sky have been through a lot, the least not being the death of her father. Chace still has a lot to prove and he is trying to show Sky that even though he has been an ass in the past he is trying to be the man she needs at her side. Sky for her part is trying to trust Chace as well as follow the clues to her mother and what happened.
They are being sought by a griffon, Dillon, and a dragon, Freyja, who both wish to lead the shifters. Their rule however would be harsh and likely wipe out most of the population. If they can control the true leader and protector, they would have an easier time, but can they get Sky to cooperate.
This has been a thrilling series with great characters and a great premise. The only thing I was not happy about was the fact that the ending seemed rushed. I would have liked to have seen the final battle run a little longer and be a bit more, more. Regardless of that little point it worked for me all the way. I recommend this series highly for the drama, the sexy shifters, hot scenes, and wonderful plot.
Per usual, Lizzy Ford has another kindle bruiser hot off the press and on my kindle! An excellent story with sexy scenes between our two lovebirds as they make up, wonderful progression in the story with Skylar's powers, and unexpected surprise, lots of action, and a totally satisfying end to this series. Or is it the end? There could be so much more springing out of this series, even a continuation with the new leaders, etc! OMG the possibilities!
That being said, the ending IS satisfying for those who have read the first two books. There is resolution on both the romantic front and the story front. I love how Cabin treats Chace and how Chace has changed. He's still learning, but he's still Chace (that whole, "Still wanna drag you off and [eff] you" sentence --- so Chace! lol). He's just a grown up Chace which sounds funny as he's old! I snorted and giggled at the "chase the tail" scene and then to hear Gunner's comment later, reminiscing about his first change made me smile.
I would LOVE stories to spring out of this focusing on Mason or Gunner or Mac. I'm especially interested in Gunner.
Paranormal fantasies, including shifter novels like this one, are some of my favorite books to read and this was no exception. This is a one-sitting, kindle bruiser. Grab a cuppa, sit, read. :)
Charred Hope answered a lot of my question, including if Chace would grow up and get his magic back, what happened to Sky’s mom, whether or not Chace and Sky would defeat their enemy, and whether they would end up together.
I loved watching Sky as she explored her new power as the shifter protector, and when she figured out exactly what she could do for the first time, I found myself laughing out loud.
I loved Mason and Gunner in this installment. And surprisingly, I even liked Chace. I really didn’t think I could like him after the first book, but he finally became the guy I wanted him to be.
There was action, romance, suspense. Everything flowed so well. There were a few places where I would have liked more information. Some events felt as if they were just brushed over, and although my questions were answered, I still wanted more of an explanation, particularly with Sky’s mom. But overall I was satisfied with how it all played out.
What else can I say? I loved, loved, loved the ending. It totally made me smile. Just perfect!
Overall, the Heart of Fire series was entertaining, especially this last book. If you love paranormal romance with shifters, then this series is a must read.
This book jumps in right where book 2 left off. It was a seamless start into Sky in the grips of her enemy. She realizes that she has to make some tough decisions if she is going to save everyone. While she loves Chace, he has made so many mistakes in her mind that it is difficult to trust him again. Chace is still struggling with proving himself and knows that the only way to get his magic back is to sacrifice his pride for the greater good, how does he do that though? Wow, this book was quite the roller coaster, bringing new surprises that really kept the reader tied into the book. I absolutely could not put this down, wondering, are they going to make it? I was pleased with the finish of the book, leaving the option to explore more titles but with closure so that if another doesn't come, the reader is not left with any nagging questions. I did feel that this book was amazing, but could use a little more fine tuning with editing. It was not overbearing enough to dock points but with such a well established author, I almost expect perfection because that is what Lizzy brings to us. Five fangs.
After everything that's happened it's still good to see Chace has his priorities in order, "a lot, I'd say." He smiled. "Still wanna drag you off and eff you." But Skylar that girl has some tricks up her sleeve to keep her man on her toes, "she grinned, not caring how upset he was at the moment. "I know just how to cheer you up, dragon," she murmured. "Hey, cabin. You got any sexy lingerie around?" I mean Chace the boy is still distracting, "Chace was eyeing her like he was ready to eat her or toss her back into bed, they'd spent the night making love. "Would you stop?" she asked with a playful laugh. "You're distracting me." And I'm proud of Skylar she knows how to take control, "she shoved him onto his back, landing on top of him. Skylar began fluttering hot little kisses across his face and neck. Chace laughed at the tickling sensation and wrapped his arms around her, rolling her onto her back. He settled on top of her, between her thighs, his arousal growing hard." I'm hoping Mason or Gunner gets a story because I loved those two as much as Skylar and Chace.
What a fantastic end to the Heart of Fire trilogy! The action is as fast-paced as the other two books. Allegiances are formed and broken, and many question who they can trust. Secrets are uncovered and only one group of shifters will arise as the victors.
Sky struggles to figure out who to trust as she comes into her Protector powers and wrestles with her lost memories. The relationship with Chace is strained and as much as she wants to trust and love him, she has a hard time getting over their past struggles. Chace on the other hand strives to prove himself worthy and trustworthy to Sky when they are finally reunited, yet his spirit continues to tell him he'll never be good enough.
As war rages on, Chace and Sky must learn to trust and love each other more deeply, since it is only with a unified front that they will be able to take down the opposition.
Charred Hope is a great read that picks up right where the last book leaves off. Chace is still without his magic and Skylar is with Mason. While Chace and Gunner tracks Skylar, Skylar begins to learn the way her magic works and what she can do but she must learn quickly because Dillion and Freyja have teamed up to destroy her. This book has a few surprises and was just as good steamy and funny as the first two books in the series. The best part is that this book is the last book in the series. I recommend this series to anyone 18+who is looking for a good steamy read featuring dragons, panther, griffins and more.
This is the third book in the Heart of Fire book which picks up where book 2 leaves off and is a pretty good end to their story, I just want more. I love this shifter world and love how Sky and Chace go together (even if I feel Sky should be a bit older than she is). Cabin is great, love her antics with making Chace apologize. I sure hope this isn't the last of we get to hear about this shifter world! There's so much more I want to know about what happens/life after the battle and how Sky's powers progress. What do you think Lizzy, will we get to hear more about Sky, Chace, and the rest of the shifters??
My oh my DRAGONS! This was an amazing book! Lizzy has done it once again I love how this book was written. This book leaves right off where the last one ended and jumps right into it. I loved how Sky and Chace interacted in this book. We get so many of our questions answered in this book. I loved how we finally get to see how everything is manipulated and we finally see what it means for Sky to be a protector. This is a great end to the series and ties everything up. I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.
Great ending to a great series. I fell in love with this series from book one. Lizzy never disappoints me with her books. I love the way things play out even though it scared me a little in the middle but of course you just have to trust Chace. Sky grows in her character for the story and her power is just as great and funny. This book has the humor, and the happy side to the story, the danger and worry. I hope we get a little more for them even if it is just a short story but it is a great ending that works well with the series.
I so loved this third installment of the Heart of Fire series. I find that with each book, I fall in love with the characters. Their emotions soon become yours and you want to take up arms and fight their battle with them. Chace is yummy and his deep devotion to Sky is something that we all dream about. Sky’s strength is amazing and she finds herself discovering a whole new skill set. This is a 5 star book that does not need to be missed. You will need the first two before you read Charred Hope. Lizzy Ford never disappoints me. I always look forward to her books coming out.
Lizzy Ford has done it again. She has captivated my heart and soul in another book. Hello in this whole series for that matter. I think everyone should read this series and fall in love with Chace and Skylar the way I did. There are so many wonderful characters in this series to fall in love with. Gunner is another awesome character to enjoy and get a few laughs out too. So hurry and go get your copies of this series and see what you missing, you will not be disappointed.
I loved this! Lizzy Ford did it again!I loved this series, something about dragons. What a great ending to a great story. Skylar, a strong female and boy did she need to be, and Chace, poor guy, realizing he made major mistakes and not knowing how to fix them. I loved how there is a lesson we all could learn from this. Our actions and reactions sometimes can effect the lives of those around us, our consequences are not always just ours. Good job Lizzy! I hope we can see more shifter stories.
Ohhh!!! I loved this book to the core. Lizzy Ford weaves another magic beautifully. The finale was everything I had hoped for. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it will make your heart fill with love and make you stay on the edge of your wits to know whats coming next. Chace and Sky prove their love knows no boundaries and nothing can stop them when they are together. This one is worth your time and money... Lizzy Ford has a way to silently creep into your heart and stay right there with her writing...
Good ending to the series. Liked seeing Skylar come into her own. Happy to see things work out for her and Chace.
Lots of action in the book. Things happen kinda quickly and I'm a little sad how some things turned out but, the characters deserved what happened to them.
Some surprises are given to us in this book as well. I'd really like to see some spinoffs with the other characters such as Gunner, Mason, and Luke.
Well written and very visual. Well done, Ms. Ford!
I loved this book, it answered so many questions I had from book one, and tied up several loose ends. I enjoyed the unexpected surprises in the story also. I laughed in lots of places, there were some really funny moments along the way. I really enjoyed the way Chace and Sky figured things out with the two of them, they had a really bumpy road to get there, but they have such a smoldering hot chemistry it was great to read their love story!
Skylar has magic ... she is a Protector of all shifters! and she is supposed to have a dragon guarding her but instead she has Chace.. and some unexpected friends!! some things are found that were lost.. there are battles and lives lost.. and a most amazing leap of faith!! There is just the right level of plausibility in the storylines and you will wish you had a magic cabin before you are finished!!!
From the first in this series, right up to this last one, Lizzy Ford made these characters come alive and drew me right into the story. I wanted to soar with the Dragon, although the process of shifting does not sound very pleasant. I highly recommend this series and you too will fall in love with a dragon.
Book one in this series was awesome, book two was decent (a little to much angst for me) and book three rounded out this trilogy rather nicely. You got some great action, neat adventure, fun fight scenes, and awesome lovers. Spice that up with a little paranormal and you have a great story. A must read for any adult paranormal romance fans.
Good series. All three books were good, but this last one was the best. Maybe because it had an ending. OR......Just the right amount of sex, emotion and action. Highly recommend this series if you're into sexy shifters, spunky, sassy heroines and magic.
Chace's magic is gone and will not return until he earns it back along with Skylar's love. Will he regain it in time to save Skylar from the mastermind behind the disappearances of the shifters and slayers? This was my favorite of the trilogy series! I love how all the characters interact and so many questions are answered. I definitely will be reading more Lizzie Ford's work.
I read the series, one after the other. Charred Heart Charred Tears When I got to the end of the first book, I downloaded the next installment. I loved the characters and their goodness. I loved the fantasy of the dragons and other shifters. I enjoyed the mystery that surrounded Sky the Protector. It was a fun read for me and I couldn't stop reading I was so drawn into the story.
I love this series. great paranormal /Fantasy romance. Lizzy Ford has a wonderful imagination and puts together a great story within the shifter world, she has great characters and story line that hooks you and doesnt let go. sad to see the end. highly recommend this series. I was given a copy of this book for a honest review
The final part of the Sky and Chace story and does it finish with a bang.
Another excellent book from Lizzy Ford and a superb ending the series. All we need now are a couple of spin offs to find out what happens to the rest of the characters, here's hoping anyway!
Well written story with a lot of heart, action, and steamy scenes. This is book 3 of the series and best to read them in order because how they play out. Wonderful characters and great price.
