All’s fair in love and war…until you agree to be your best friend’s fake fiancé.
Levi: Life as an NFL player has always been fast-paced, but nothing prepared me for becoming the guardian of my godson, Duncan. With his grandmother contesting custody, I need to prove that I’m a steadfast influence who’s not going anywhere and there’s one sure-fire way to show that: get engaged.
With my not-so-secret crush Georgie on board to play the part, we tell ourselves it’s a practical solution. But when I see her connection with Duncan, I see a different side of her that I didn’t know existed and I only want more. Could this fake engagement be the real deal?
Georgie: When my best friend needs a fake fiancé to prove he's a stable guardian for his godson, I jump at the chance. Does it help that I also have a huge crush on him? Probably…but now, as our fake relationship blurs the line between reality and what’s pretend, I start wondering if this charade could lead to something more.
Then the unthinkable happens. A huge misstep on my part, thanks to my big mouth, leads to a major slip-up and I manage to jeopardize everything––including his custody battle. Will this mistake cost me the chance at true love I’ve been waiting for?
The Art of Falling in Love with Your Fake Fiancé is a fake relationship, friends to lovers, found family, closed door romcom with no third act break up...and a Rottweiler named Toto. Chemistry, swoony kisses, and tension collide in this small town romance!
Content warning: This IS a lighthearted and fun romantic comedy, but there are subjects mentioned in this book like parents passing away, foster family upbringing, and a guardianship battle over a ten-year-old.

Levi and Georgie are such a fun duo! Fresh from the NFL, Levi finds himself as guardian to his godson, Duncan, and bookshop owner Georgie meets Duncan in a slightly terrifying way. But a quick, unlikely friendship forms and I love the way that whole situation is handled.
A long-time friendship between Levi and Georgie is the perfect background to the swoon as they navigate some sticky situations, and a sweet connection and fake relationship begins. They’re not without missteps and drama, in which these circumstances are well written, and I thought the characters were beautifully developed amidst their trials. The swoon is perfect, feeling both realistic and fresh and new, especially with help from Toto the dog. 🔥❤️🔥
I haven’t read this whole series and never felt lost. This is such a sweet and easy read for those who enjoy a light romcom with some serious topics that are addressed in tender ways.

The Art Of Falling in Love With Your Fake Fiancé by Anne Kemp is the fifth book on the Sweetkiss Creek Series. Let me start by saying I started and finished this in one sitting, even stayed up until 1am early Monday morning because I couldn't put it down. I absolutely adored this book. This book is told from dual pov, Levi, an NFL wide review & his best friend, Georgie, a bookshop owner. Levi becomes guardian of his childhood friend, Tom's 10 year old son, Duncan, after Tom & his wife die in a tragic house fire. Life in the NFL has always been fast-paced, but nothing has prepared him to become guardian of his godson. When Duncan's paternal grandmother attempts to fight for custody or Duncan. Levi asks Georgie to be his fake fiancé to help show he is prepared to be the guardian of Duncan. I can not wait to go back to Sweetkiss Creek for more stories.

Disconnecting the call, I’m surprised that my cheeks are aching. I’m smiling that wide. This is what the man does to me. Having a friend like Levi is the absolute best. To start with, he’s the first guy I’ve met who listens to me—and asks questions. I know, shocking, right? If only I could clone him and date him. It’s a thought I’ve had over the past year as I’ve struggled with my own feelings for this man.
“I’m not talking about Duncan,” she murmurs, hazel eyes rising to meet mine. “I’m talking about Georgie.” “What do you mean?” “What I mean is, are you sure it’s a good idea for you to pretend to be engaged to the woman you’re secretly in love with?”
Our first kiss in public for show, and our first kiss behind closed doors for…us? I know we’ll have to talk about this, I know it, I do, I just don’t want to. I kind of like the suspension in time of where we are, the vagueness of us. The gray area of it all. There’s something comforting to me about one-sided love. It’s when the feeling is returned that things get tricky. But the kisses. THE KISSES. I could do that like it’s my job. All day every day for the rest of my life. Kissing him because I needed to for Lorna’s sake is one thing, but having him kiss me and like this…child. It’s another situation altogether.
With Levi’s arms around me, I throw my head back and laugh. I love this life. I love this man. I love this kid. I love this. It’s my forever. I’ve finally found my own forever home. My version of family and it is amazing.
I received an advance review copy, and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.
– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone
– this is told from Georgie & Levi’s points of view
– there are about 3 uses of a variation of the ‘a’ word for donkey
– it is mentioned that multiple characters lost someone(s) close to them suddenly in a fire (for one of these characters, they were their parents)
– it is mentioned that a character grew up in the foster care system
– it is mentioned that a parent left a character’s family
– there are mentions of a custody battle over a 10 year old child
Review:
I don’t know what it is about Sweetkiss Creek, but I’ve been loving all the romance stories set there! Georgie & Levi together was wonderful and I was so glad to see that we’d be getting Levi’s brother’s story next (and at the end of this story we found out who he’d end up with)! But back to Georgie & Levi… I loved getting to know Georgie and seeing some of the Sweetkiss ladies from previous books again. I really loved how Georgie & Levi got together and that Duncan connected so well with Georgie though they had a rough start. I loved getting to see Levi’s family rally around him with the custody battle taking a toll on him and that they wanted to give Duncan the best chance at a peaceful transition despite the circumstances. I also loved that they teased Levi over his crush on Georgie, but also made a point of wanting to protect his heart when he got the idea to propose a fake relationship with her.
Summary:
Levi is thrown for a loop when he is unexpectedly made the guardian of his ten-year-old godson Duncan. It doesn’t help that the boy’s grandmother is fighting for sole custody of him and is willing to use Levi’s rigorous NFL schedule against him in the process. He needs to prove that he’s fit for the job so he can honor Duncan’s parents’ wishes and provide a loving home for him in the midst of the tragedy that befell them. His solution: ask his best friend to be his fake fiancé. Only problem is, Levi fell for Georgie the day he met her and with every moment faking a deeper relationship together he’s falling further for her…
Georgie’s apartment building is in need of an unexpected fumigation and she has nowhere else to go. When she vents her woes to her best friend Levi, he suggests a temporary place she can stay and she expresses such joy at the offer she provides one back to him of help with anything. Georgie didn’t expect him to pick up the offer so quick, nor for it to be anything as big as this. But pretending to be his fake fiancé shouldn’t be too much of a hardship, not when she’s in love with him anyways. All she has to do is remember that it isn’t real…
Life for Levi as an NFL player has always been fast-paced, but nothing prepared him for becoming the guardian of his godson, Duncan. With Duncan’s grandmother contesting custody, Levi needs to prove that he’s a steadfast influence who’s not going anywhere and there’s one way apparently, to show that: get engaged. With his not-so-secret crush, Georgie jumps on board to play the part, they tell themselves it’s a practical and temporary solution. But when Levi see Georgie’s connection with Duncan, Levi see a different side of her that he didn’t know existed and he only wants more. But now, as their fake relationship blurs the line between reality and what’s pretend, Georgie also starts wondering if this charade could lead to something more. Then the unthinkable happens. A major slip-up to jeopardize everything, including the custody battle. This mistake could cost both Levi and Georgie a chance at true love, something they both have been waiting for…
“I love you. I think I always have.”

“We’re here for you. Always.”
@annekempauthor this is yet another delightful and fun quick-read story from you. From the crazy way the two main characters reunite with a bookstore stealing tackle, I was hooked! I adored seeing the romance between Levi and George, and loved the dynamics with the family aspect, with Duncan’s overall wellbeing. Seeing his progression from start to finish was refreshing and lovely. This is a heartwarming and enjoyable book worth the read!
“I cannot and will not spend another day without you by my side.”
•Content: a bit of minor language, subjects mentioned in this book like parents passing away, foster family upbringing, drinking, and a guardianship battle over a ten-year-old.
First thought: Don’t be fooled by the title of this book, it is way more than a cutesy romance. It’s a great quick HEA read that has a story of substance and great characters. You’ll be emerged into the small town of Sweetkiss Creek and their residents will capture your hearts.
What happens when your the godfather and your best friends die suddenly in an accident. Now you’re thrown into a custody battle of a ten year old who is grieving the loss of his parents. It’s definitely difficult waters for Levi to navigate then throw in he’s a NFL player and he’s secretly carrying a torch for his best friend.
Then you have Georgie a girl who’s forged her own path and made her dreams of owning a bookstore a reality. She grew up in the foster care system and has never known what being part of a family is like. That’s why she fell in love with the small town and the last few years has made it her home. It also helps she’s became best friends with Levi who makes her feel things she never thought she feel. Don’t forget her adorable giant of a pup, Toto.
Now Levi needs help, as he’s fighting for custody of Duncan his 10yr old godson. So he asks Georgie if she be his fake fiancé so his case would look better infront of the job. He’s playing a dangerous game as it’s not feeling fake to him.

I love the fake dating/fake marriage tropes so much. Combine it with a small-town romance and friends to lovers and I'm in heaven. All my favourite things in one beautiful book. Levi is a famous football star and Georgie is the girl back home, running her beloved bookshop. When Levi is thrown into guardianship for his best friend's son Duncan, he needs to prove he can provide a stable home for the boy. And what could be more stable than the fact he and Georgie are engaged, right?
I'm not sure if this is he falls first or she falls first. I think they've always been in love with each other, but neither wants to admit it to the other for fear of rejection or losing their friendship. So the fake engagement provides them both with a great opportunity to turn it real.
Levi is adorable, he truly wants the best for everyone, not just Duncan and Georgie, but Lorna, Duncan's paternal grandmother who is fighting him for custody, as well. Duncan is the most adorable kid in the world. Sullen at first as he is in a rough place, lost both his parents and been thrust into a new world with people he doesn't know. He slowly starts to connect with Georgie and starts inching his way out of his shell and starts to settle down into a new family. The first time he hugs Levi, I swear I almost melted and definitely 'awwww'd out loud.
I also loved the sneak preview of the next book, can't wait to read Austin's story (Levi's brother).
This was a clean romance but a little too problematic in a few ways for me.
For one, I feel like the language was abruptly modern. Using modern phrases and acronyms like “IYKYK”. There were references to TikTok and even Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey. I feel like the book will not age well.
Also I love a good fake dating troupe, but this one never seemed very fake as Levi and Duncan were both already smitten with one another when the story begins - there wasn’t a lot of room for the relationship to develop.
That said, I did love Duncan and the guardianship plot line. I felt that his story was probably the best thought out overall, but even there, there could have been more. Overall I enjoyed this as an evening read, but it’s not one I will revisit.
Aww! This book was so cute! I loved darling Georgie and her kind heart and empathy for others! Hunky Levi with his big heart and an even bigger crush on Georgie! And cute Duncan, who had been through so much and now just needs some stability and someone to love and to be loved!!
I loved that Levi and Georgie were already friends and both secretly pinning for each other. They already had chemistry which made them entering into a fake engagement more plausible. They were just so cute together!!
Levi and Georgie are great friends despite their different upbringings, careers, and backgrounds. She works at a bookstore while he is an NFL star; need I say more? However, Georgie is tough, resourceful, and caring, especially toward Levi’s newfound godson, Duncan. Their connection was heartwarming and the chemistry between Levi and Georgie was electric; their relationship was very sweet. The small town setting of Sweetkiss Creek with gossips and busybodies but also community and warmth was a great backdrop. I appreciated how the villain of this book, Lorna, was redeemed also.
With each book coming out, I want to pack up my bags and shift to Sweetkiss Creek!! I love the wholesomeness of this town and it has started feeling very familiar. In this particular book, I really liked how my interest was sparked in the beginning and then the story flew really smoothly. The characters were super fun, cute and made me giggle multiple times. Levi was ultimately my favourite for respecting his mother, acknowledging her sacrifices, realizing his responsibilities, while also keeping in mind the feelings of everyone around him. This whole series is adorable that I will keep in my heart for a long time.
Oh my goodness Anne Kemp has surpassed with this diamond of a love story. It has all the real feels. Levi a pro NFL footballer got to know Georgie through friends and has kept in touch for a year. He looks forward to their meet ups. Georgie owns a bookshop in Sweetkiss Falls called Pages and Prose ( I want to go there it sounds awesome) and has a very adorable Rottie dog name Toto who is very clever and knows exactly what his owner requires of him , clever baby…ahem I digress , sorry about that but I did say he’s adorable. One day Georgie is astounded to find a young thief in her shop and gives chase . Bumping into her friend Levi who has him stopped post haste. But it turns out that he is the young lad’s guardian after the death of his parents as he is the boy Duncan’s godfather. Awkward… She should turn him in but decides to give the lad penance to work in the store.Levi has enough of a battle looming now he’s home as Duncan’s paternal grandmother is contesting his custodianship after caring for the boy all season. Mary , Levi’s mother who the boy says he stole the book for and Austin his brother also a pro footballer on an opposing team play a big part and take the boy into their hearts. Levi and Georgie grow even closer and when put in a fix with her housing situation, Levi offers a solution with no hesitation. After a trip to see the family lawyer he trades a fake engagement and she has no hesitancy in accepting . She’s in love with her crush for all but him to see. I was so rooting for this cute couple and Georgie’s love for Duncan too was beautiful to read. Whew what a rollercoaster ride from joy to contention a string of emotions too many to mention in this masterpiece of romance writing. The ebbing and flowing of this great book carries along like a babbling brook. It’s an easy reading pleasure to treasure each page truly a testament to this author’s ability to keep me enthralled and engaged. Great prose and on the nose , vivid descriptors such as these :- “I’ve managed to pull a Pretty Woman on my best friend.” “That stinking cat loves you so much.” superb comic timing and succinctly phrased. I can’t wait for the next instalment from this great township that’s full of characters I adore. I was forwarded this book and I’m leaving my review voluntarily and in my own thoughts
My cheeks are aching from smiling and laughing so much. I can always count on plenty of light-hearted moments in books written by Anne Kemp. I am in love with the fictional town of Sweetkiss Creek. There is just something about the descriptions of this place that are magical.
Levi has been put in a position that no one wants to ever be put into. His best friend and his wife have died. Levi is their son, Duncan's, godfather. He is been named as the guardian of this precocious little boy. He knows nothing about raising a 10 year old. He is an NFL superstar. He can talk football, but kids are a different story altogether. Thankfully, he has the help of his incredible family, especially his precious mother. Duncan's grandmother has filed suit for custody of him. Levi needs to prove he is the right man for the job.
Bookstore owner Georgie meets Duncan in a rather unexpected way. Levi has been secretly crushing on Georgie for as long as he has known her. When Levi comes up with a grand plan of a fake relationship with Georgie, he thinks everything will be just fine now. What could possibly go wrong? Georgie is a peach and so much fun to read about.
I love Georgie. I named her the child whisperer. Georgie's past gives her some personal insight into Duncan's situation. Everything about this book is just delightful. It is completely family-oriented. There are so many laugh out loud moments, as well as some tender-hearted moments that will bring tears to your eyes. This romantic side is completely swoon worthy, but also clean. I absolutely adored Georgie's dog. She has a Rottweiler named Toto. That in and of itself is hilarious. When I think of a dog named Toto, I think of purse dog. Little Duncan stole my heart from his first appearance. This little boy has lost everything near and dear to him. I just wanted to reach in the book and give him a hug. However, he still has some spunk in him.
I am never disappointed in a Sweetkiss Creek book. The characters are funny and engaging, and the town will capture your heart as well. I am looking forward to book #6 now.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I adored the vibes and humour of this book! Sweetkiss Creek is always a pleasure to read about and lose yourself in. I'd even love to live there myself 😂. The plot was well done, and I was so happy about how the way things turned out in the end. Anne kemps characters are always amazing and feel so real. They're well structured, and some have great developments throughout the book.
Now I'm not an audiobook girlie by any means, I like having it real and in front of me, but the writing is so good that I would 1000% buy the audiobook, for me i could picture things so vividly! (Snippets of some quotes at the end). So far I've only read two sweetkiss creek books, but they're already so comforting and familiar to me. When I began reading, the world felt familiar, like walking into your local library you've been so many times before it feels almost homely. I hadn't realised how much I'd missed sweetkiss Creek until I began reading this. You will truly get attached to the world and characters within and I can't wait to read more sweetkiss creek novels!

"Pages and Prose is small but mighty. The interior is lined with five rows of shelves, each overflowing with books of all genres, from classic literature to contemporary bestsellers. When I was shopping to outfit the store, I picked out shelves made of dark wood, giving the bookstore a rustic and timeless feel. Soft lighting, turned down low for the open mic night, usually casts a gentle glow over the rows of books, creating a cozy ambiance that invites readers to explore. The stage area is surrounded by comfy seating, including plush armchairs and sofas, where customers can relax and enjoy the performances. About six months ago, I added a small cafe area, where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while flipping through the pages of a new book. The walls are adorned with artwork from local artists, adding to the charm and character of the space. I really wanted this to be a retreat for book lovers, but also a place for locals"
"Levi’s eyes widen and he throws his head back and laughs. His laugh is good and rich,"

The Art Of Falling in Love With Your Fake Fiancé by Anne Kemp is the fifth book on the Sweetkiss Creek Series and follows the story of Georgie, a small town bookshop owner, and Levi, a NFL football player. Levi has just been granted guardianship over his 10-year old godson, Duncan, but has no idea how to begin to even act as a father figure. Duncan is closed off and even going as far as trying to steal, but finds connection with one person: Levi’s best friend, Georgie, who he also happens to secretly be in love with. Little does he know, Georgie has been harboring feelings for him as well. When Levi and Georgie enter into a “quid pro quo” agreement where Georgie gets a place to stay and Levi gets a fake fiancée to prove he is “settling down” and more equipped to care for Duncan, will their fake relationship stay just that or will their secret feelings finally come to light?
This book is the 5th in the Sweetkiss Creek series but I will say, I never felt confused or lost by not having read any of the earlier books in the series, which I highly appreciate. This book did take me a little longer to get invested in initially, but once it got to a certain point, I couldn’t put it down because it was so sweet. I thought Anne Kemp did an amazing job writing a light-hearted rom com that centered around a very sensitive topic, but she was respectful and was able to weave the different tropes together beautifully. I will absolutely be going back to read the earlier books in the Sweetkiss Series.

Anne Kemp scored a touchdown with this one! This story was not only adorable, but touched on some tough themes too. It was an all-around great read and an excellent addition to the Sweetkiss series. AND: Anne, you had me at Toto!
(Did I mention there’s an adorable dog and an even more adorable 10-year-old?)
There’s so much to love in this book: not only was the romance top notch, but the author also dealt with loss, childhood hardship, and grief. And the strong themes of standing-by-each-other and found-family literally “took it to the house”!
Here are a few Notable Quotables (Anne sure has a way with words): - “Family. Even Duncan sees me as family, and it’s more than reciprocated. I feel this in my bones as pure and solid as the Earth is round and rotating in a circle, orbiting the sun. I don’t care what else there is to this life. This moment of acceptance is all I’ve ever needed. Ever.” - “The world around me stops. It’s quiet. I don’t hear the cars driving by, the sound of a resident arguing with the meter maid. I’m pretty sure a dog was barking, but nope. Can’t hear that either. I can’t make out anything except for my heart beating so loud it sounds as if it is inside my head.”
Now, anybody else out there googling exactly where to find Sweetkiss Creek? I grew up in small-town Georgia, so this “world” Anne has built feels like coming home. My southern heart just loves it here in Sweetkiss - don’t mind me, while I’m busy perusing the shelves in Georgie’s book shop, or running into any one of the quirky side characters at the bakery, or grabbing something sweet and southern to eat at the coffee shop. This place is tubs all around! Where do I sign up, y’all?
I guarantee, Sweetkiss Creek will earn its place in your heart; and you will just love Levi and Georgie’s story (and Duncan and Toto) too!
🇺🇸This is the fifth part of the Sweetkiss Creek series, but you can read the books independently of each other. I really liked the story. You got to know both characters in the previous book and I had hoped that they would find each other. It was very exciting to see how the two found each other and, above all, the detours they took. I thought the characters were really well described. Georgie is a great woman who fights for her loved ones and makes her dreams come true. Levi is suddenly responsible for a child and tries to give him only the best, like a new family, love and trust. I really liked the relationship between the two and, above all, I thought the development of the characters was great. I really liked the writing style, as in her other books, and the cover looks very good too. A clear reading recommendation
Anne Kemp is at it again bringing us, yet another story set in Sweetkiss Creek, North Carolina! I love how these books center around found family as well as a protagonist’s dog! This story stems from the epilogue of the previous book, when we see Levi jet off to be there for some friends who have had a terrible accident! Fast forward and it lands at our present-day circumstances…
Levi has assumed guardianship of his friends’ child, Duncan, who has had his entire world flipped upside down and trying to gain a sense of belonging in his new location! Along the way, Duncan gets himself into a bit of mischief, leaving Levi to question whether he is up to the task! Insert Georgie, his new go to gal pal, to help boost his confidence and possibly tie up the custody case the young boy’s grandmother has insisted upon filing!
Georgie, local bookstore owner, Toto’s mistress (giant, lovable Rottweiler) and all-around wonderful town import! This woman can befriend almost anyone and practically has! When Levi, the long-time local and professional football player, asks her to pretend to be his fiancée – she agrees (and prays that her feelings for him don’t bubble to the surface)! Now to secure Duncan’s future will be a cinch - not!
While some of the backstory is a bit heavier than Anne’s other novels, this one is still very special! With some minor crossover cameos and nods to future protagonists, this community has become a fan favorite of mine! This book is a great example of how found family can be every bit as important as blood relations! Be advised multiple mentions of homemade ice cream might make you hungry!
Such a sweet story. Another wonderful book in this fun series. “Have you ever had a seismic shift of epic proportions happen in your life, in a very short amount of time, and you don’t know how to handle it? Because this is me. This is what I’m dealing with.” NFL player Levi had become the guardian of his orphaned godchild. To help fight a custody challenge he and his friend Georgia agreed to a fake engagement. “Friends with benefits, kind of. Different benefits than others have, but benefits nonetheless.” The fake relationship took a different trajectory than I expected and I’m not mad about it. It was sweet, and kind of nice to see it take an unexpected direction. I really felt like this story was more about Levi and Georgia just needing something to break them both out of the holding pattern they were in of doing nothing about the feelings that were already there, albeit unrevealed to each other. “It’s like I’ve been in a dark room for ages and someone’s turned on a light. It’s not really bright, but it’s enough for me to see what’s in front of me and has been all along.” And also Duncan’s adjustment to his new life was a focus. The characters were engaging and lovely. The romance was cute and swoony. There were also some great funny moments. There are elements in the story involving foster care, death, grief, and custody contention. There is some set-up for the next book in the series and I am looking forward to it. This is a closed door romance with a couple instances of mild harsh language.
The Art of Falling in Love with Your Fake Fiancé is the fifth book in the Sweetkiss Creek series. While you'll definitely see some familiar characters make appearances, I do think this could be enjoyed as a standalone as well.
I have absolutely adored every single book in this series so far... but I definitely have a new favorite in this one! To say that Georgie's first introduction to Duncan- Levi's godson whom he's been made guardian of after his parents' passing- was awkward would be putting it mildly! It drew me in right away and set the tone for the rest of the story. Duncan played such a huge part of this story and I loved that this was not JUST a romance between Levi and Georgie, but also the healing and start of a new family for him. While the romance was great and I adored these two together, it was definitely that family aspect that really had me falling in love with these characters and their story more. They definitely make some mistakes along the way, but I love the growth throughout. While the story was overall lighthearted and fun (Georgie's actions as a fake fiancé had me laughing out loud!), it took on some tougher issue like loss of a parent, foster homes, etc. that really made it a more tender and heartwarming read... and one that I absolutely adored!
The Art of Falling in Love with Your Fake Fiancé is a closed-door romance with kisses only. It does have just a bit of minor language.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
Anne does such a wonderful job with her books!! I really love the no third act breakup in this series because it’s a refreshing change, but that doesn’t mean it’s all sunshine and rainbows either. And I love that about her books too. I loved this book from the first chapter and basically read it in a day. I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I was excited for Levi and Georgie’s book from their fast exit in Riley and Jakes wedding at the end of their book. They quickly became best friends and had a cemented relationship before the accident that caused Levi to become the guardian of his high school best friends son. So it was easy for their relationship to become more even though both thought at first the feelings were one sided. Duncan bonded with Georgie and I loved seeing the little boy heal and the Porters and Georgie come together to make sure he had a safe space.
I will say the pantry kiss from Riley and Jake’s story is still my absolute favorite from the whole series but this one had a pretty good one too 😉. Toto’s a pretty good wingman if a little extreme 😂 (iykyk). It was a wonderful read and some of the best scenes were Duncan opening up and talking to Levi and of course Georgie and Levi’s blossoming relationship too. I mean pretty sneaky to ask the girl your secretly in love with to be your fake fiancée in hopes to make it real 🤭.
Levi loves his life his team just won the Super Bowl and his career in the NFL is great and now he gets to go to his hometown Sweetkiss Creek. But his life has also changed dramatically in the last year. His best friend and wife died and now he's found himself as guardian to their son Duncan, he was his Godfather and never thought he'd be responsible for a young impressionable child. He'd really hoped to go home and hopefully become more that friends with Georgie, she's all he thinks about and can wait for their phone chats while he's on the road. Georgie had made her home in Sweetkiss Creek with her Bookshop and her apartment she was finally putting down roots. She even had a small group of friends and the townsfolk had accept her as part of the community and now with the open mic nights she was living life to the full. On another plus Levi was due home now the season was over, if only she can keep her feelings for him hidden. But life never goes how you expect it to. Between Grandmother's trying to take Duncan, burst pipes and Internet shaming. Things are never easy between them can they finally admit how they both feel or will it be the end of their friendship. But then again this is Sweetkiss Creek and things usually worked themselves out 🤞. This is another brilliant story I can't wait for the next book
I loved reading this book. Levi and Georgie's book is the cutest. Levi is a NFL football player that just became the guardian to his god son Duncan. He is trying to be there for Duncan but it's hard with Duncan's grandma fighting Duncan staying with Levi even though in the will it states that Duncan would live with Levi.
Then there's Georgie who became really good friends with Levi when his best friend got married. Georgie is sweet and hilarious and owns the Bookstore in Sweetkiss Creek. She caught a little their in her store and when she gets to him finds out it's Levi's God son Duncan. For the stealing Georgie has Duncan work in the store and become closer and someone Duncan can talk to.
Levi finds out that it might look better for him to be the guardian of Duncan if he has a "wife" or "fiance" which brings us to the fake fiance thing. The thing is that the two of them have crushed on each other. Can Levi and Georgie navigate being fake fiance while have secret crushes on each other? Need to read to find out. I love Toto the Rottweiler too! Too cute. Also can't wait for Austin's book! Thank you so much Anne Kemp for this book, it's amazing. This is my honest review and all is my own.
The Art of Falling in Love with Your Fake Fiancé is a friends-to-lovers, sweet sports romcom! It's part of the Sweetkiss Creek series but is totally enjoyable by itself. I liked Levi and Georgie's friendship and their chemistry going into their fake relationship. I also liked Lorna and the growth of her character. This was a cute, easy read. This story is about found family and tugs at the heartstrings. A fun summer read!
ʜᴇʀᴇ's ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪᴛ ɪs ᴀʙᴏᴜᴛ... Levi lives the fast-paced life of an NFL player. When Levi becomes guardian of his godson, Duncan, Duncan's grandmother tries to block custody. Levi finds himself looking to settle down instead of score a touchdown so that he looks like a winner in the eyes of the court.
When bookstore owner, Georgie finds herself in a scramble after her apartment becomes unliveable; Levi comes to the rescue. Wanting to provide the best for Duncan, he approaches his best friend Georgie with a quid pro quo deal; a place to stay while acting as his fake fiancé.

Anne kemp did another wonderful job with her closed door romcom!
I seriously ate this up and couldn't stop!!
You get all the small town drama with the family drama in the mix! You get the cutesy lovey feelings and heart eyes. You get the teary eyes and the heart squeezes. It's literal perfection within these pages
Levi and Georgie have the best type of friendship. They get each other on a whole different level then most. I love how they are both blind to their feelings but when something comes up they are wait I feel this for that person.
Duncan is seriously the cutest lil man ever. I couldn't get enough of him. Him and Georgie's bond is that of a soul finding their spirit soul and knowing they are theirs. The way that just vibe with each other is amazing.
I loved Levi and Georgie's story so much! Ugh and Duncan was just perfect 🥹🥹🥹
There I mention of deceased parents and foster care childhood. Please check CWs before diving in. This book is a lighthearted read but Ikno some mentions can be difficult for ppl.
I loved the commands her dog and her have for each other. It's seriously the best. I love that he is a big dog named Toto 🤣🤣
This is an adorable friends to lovers, fake engagement romcom that delves into some heavy, real-life issues.
Levi and Georgie are so great together. Their friendship starts off fun, and it grows and shifts into much more throughout the book. I enjoyed how both start off wanting to be more and then proceed to use the fake engagement to test the waters. And gosh, their chemistry!
Duncan is also just a sweetheart. The way he connects so quickly with Georgie is the cutest, and the way he looks up to Levi feels so authentic. He has been through something horrible, and you see him heal, grow, and mature through the interactions he has with Georgie, Levi and his family.
Though this story has some hard and sad themes, it is also so hopeful and lighthearted. Plus, at only around 200 pages, it's a super quick read, which for me is always nice (I'm a slow reader).
Thank you so much, Anne, for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I loved reading Levi and Georgie's story and I can't wait for Austin and Bex's!
...Not as amusing, but much simplier. I love the fake relationship trope, . For the idea to even occur, there has to be something -- some friendship or attraction -- between the characters. Proximity will typically take care of the rest. I loved that both Levi and Georgie had a crush on the other but neither wanted to step forward and admit it for fear of losing the friendship they already had. It was hillarious to watch Georgie learn that people exploit these situations to score freebies from vendors. (As a side note, I must have been wedding dress shopping in all the wrong stores, because I was never offered a free glass of champagne!)
I also really liked the honesty between either of them and his ward/godson, Duncan, who is adorable; and old enough to be terribly embarrassed if you say so.
I received a free advance copy of this story from the author via BookFunnel and voluntarily chose to share my review.
I mean, come on! you can tell that from the very beginning with that awesomely cute dedication of the sweet author 🥲
This book is all about found family and it's absolutely heartwarming.
It touch though themes as family loss and grief, childhood in the foster sistem and a custody case, but all very respectfully and with lightness, just to give us the background.
- Clean romance - Small town - Friends to lovers - Fake engagement - Found Family - Dog lovers (we all love Toto) - Dual POV - HEA
This is part of a series, but all books are standalone... You just won't be elated when someone know makes an appearance. The first book I read of the series was the 3rd TAOFILWTMS(A), so I was glad to see Bex again (and so happy she's the next one).
I was lucky to receive an ARC copy, but this is my absolutely honest and voluntary review.
Levi's been thrown in the deep end a bit when he finds himself guardian of a 10 year-old boy, Duncan. But Duncan's grandmother isn't happy that Levi was made Duncan's guardian, and wants to fight for custody. So after being prompted by his lawyer to "appear settled" Levi asks his best friend, Georgie, to be his fake fiance. What neither Levi, nor Georgie will admit, is that in addition to being best friends, they're both harbouring romantic feelings towards each other.
As Levi and Georgie navigate the complexities of settling Duncan, and being engaged, they draw closer than ever before.
I enjoyed Levi and Georgie's friendship, and watching it develop. I loved how they cared for Duncan, and put him and his well-being first. I also loved Toto, and the various other side-characters within Sweetkiss Creek...
A really fun read with a great HEA.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Levi and Georgie are such a cute couple and best friends! They decide to fake their engagement so that Levi will seem like a more stable home situation for his friends' little boy Duncan since Levi is an NFL football player and unmarried and Duncan's grandmother has decided to challenge Levi's guardianship due to still grieving for the death of her daughter. Levi and Georgie's banter is really witty and, unbeknownst to either of them, there's a lot of attraction going on. Georgie proves that she can relate to Duncan and the loss that he has experienced and her rottweiler Toto is a hoot! The chemisty between the two main characters is palpable and sizzling without any of the heat.
The book is not super long but it is a really satisfying read. While this is part of a series it can be read as a stand-alone, although characters from the other books will pop in and out of the main story. Highly recommend it!
