I don’t do relationships. With divorced parents and a father who hasn’t contacted me in over twenty years, I’m not the kind of girl who dreams of being swept off her feet by prince charming. I do that by myself, every day, in the dance studio. So, when the most gorgeous man I ever laid eyes on suggests we become friends with benefits, it feels like I’ve won the lottery. But after our arrangement is forced to stop due to a bad fall, Braden starts showing up at my door with food and reveals another side of him. A caring side that makes me—and the lines we drew—melt away. Throw in undeniable chemistry, domestic activities, the fact that he’s my estranged dad’s right hand, and complicated doesn’t even begin to cover it.
Blurred Lines is a friends with benefits romantic comedy with laugh-out-loud moments, sizzling fade to black intimate scenes, and flirty banter between a cinnamon roll hero and a sassy heroine. Blurred Lines is a standalone novel, but you’ll find your beloved characters from the Only Girl Trilogy.
Marion De Ré is a closed-door romantic comedy author. She lives in the French countryside with her husband and adorable cat. You can expect all your beloved tropes in her writing as well as a good dose of humor and all the feels. When she's not reading or writing, you can find her on a plane to a far-away destination.
Blurred lines is a spin off in the Only Girl trilogy by Marion de Ré. I really loved this trilogy about Jack and Louise. This spin off will go on with the story of Mel, Louises best friend. This book will be a friends with benefits romantic comedy. I am really curious about what Mels story will bring. Will I enjoy it as much as I enjoyed Louises story?
This book is way different from the trilogy, which makes sense since there is a new main character. The storyline is really great and I loved to read Mels story.
Dancer/choreographer Melissa Cooper was raised by a single mother after her father abandoned them for a new life with his mistress in Los Angeles. Mel is now living in Los Angeles too after accepting a job with pop star Candice Anderson. She's wondered what it would be like to run into her father, but it's still a shock when he calls one day and asks to meet with her. To help her relax, Mel's friends take her out clubbing the night before the meeting, where she hooks up with a handsome man named Braden. Having agreed on a one-night stand, they're both equally surprised to see each other again the next morning in Mel's father's office, where Braden is the CFO. The attraction between Braden and Mel is just as intense as it was the night before, but neither of them is interested in a relationship. Instead, they create rules for a sort of friends with benefits arrangement. It seems to be going well until Mel is injured in an accident at work and attempts to call it off; Braden shows up on her doorstep with dinner, and the lines between them begin to blur. But the situation is complicated by Mel's tenuous relationship with her father, as well as secrets from Braden's past.
I very much enjoyed this funny, sweet, and heartwarming story, which dealt with a number of serious topics while remaining mostly light and fun. Main characters Braden and Melissa were both likeable and three-dimensional, and I appreciated that they developed such a genuine friendship, almost by accident, before admitting to their true romantic feelings. There were some awkward and challenging moments as they both struggled with commitment, but their personalities complemented each other perfectly, and they ended up being very cute together.
I highly recommend "Blurred Lines" for all contemporary romance and romantic comedy fans. It was the first book I've read by this author but won't be the last.
*Review copy provided by the author. All opinions expressed are my own.
When I was asked if I would be interested in reading a closed door rom-com about a one-night stand turned into a friends with benefits arrangement, I was honestly a little perplexed about how that would work. Seems like a bit of an oxymoron, right?? But Marion De Ré seamlessly blended the two, tastefully broaching a clearly very adult subject matter while not sacrificing any of the fun, sexy banter, and still leaving everything to the imagination.
Melissa Cooper is a backup dancer to a world famous pop star, and her circle of friends consists of other musicians, models, and famous authors. She hooks up with Braden after a night dancing in a club, and thinks she will never have to see him again. He turns out to be the CFO at her estranged father's company, with whom she is trying to repair her relationship, and when they are thrown back together at a corporate event they can't deny their attraction to each other, so decide to embark on a purely physical relationship since neither of them are interested in commitment. When an accident during rehearsal leaves Melissa seriously injured, and sex off the table, Braden steps in to assist her at home and in getting to therapy appointments. The more they hang out as friends, the more they realize they might actually like each other. This was a quick, fun read, and while I couldn't find myself personally relating to Melissa's ritzy lifestyle, it was a nice change of pace to read about. This is a standalone spinoff from a previous series, so while it could be read alone, be aware that it references several characters and storylines from the author's previous work.
💕 Thank you to Marion De Ré for a copy of Blurred Lines to review!
If you need a mental getaway, this book is for you! It transports you into the glitzy world of the rich and famous. Mel has just landed the job of her dreams as choreographer and lead dancer for pop icon, Candice Anderson. Just as everything seems to be falling into place for her, out of nowhere her father calls her. She hasn’t had any contact with Christian for 20 years. He wants to meet with her. Spend time with her. Be apart of her life after all these years of him being an absentee father. Wanting to dull the panic of seeing her father, she goes out with her girlfriends to a club. Drinks are flowing and the music is drowning out any thoughts of her father. Mel is dancing, losing herself in the music when she spots Braden. He’s gorgeous, tall with black hair. She can’t take her eyes off of him. He makes his over to her and they start dancing. The attraction between them is electric. They crave each other and before long they enjoy a night together. The next morning she bolts, planning to never see him again. Fate has a funny way of bringing them back together.
The next day Mel makes her way to her father’s office to meet him. Christian acknowledges he hasn’t been present in her life and wants to change that. She’s resistant to everything he is saying. They’re interrupted by a familiar voice and when she looks up Braden is standing in her father’s office. The look of surprise and shock settles upon them as they try to hide that they have already met.
Mel can’t seem to escape Braden. She keeps bumping into him and she gives in and they have another heated night together. They come up with a plan. A not so friends with benefits but only the benefits (sex) plan. They get together frequently to hook up but there’s a chemistry, and bantering going on between them and before long a type of friendship forms. They are both denying their feelings and trying to hide them from each other. It back fires.
An accident, unexpected circumstances and Christian’s interference in Mel’s life throws her whole world upside down. She had rules. She had everything in place and now she must take a long look at the choices she’s made to protect her heart. What does she really want and is there room in her heart and life for Christian.
The story moves along nicely and keeps you hooked page after page. Mel’s new twin sisters are adorable and draw the characters together. You can’t help but like Christian’s wife, Helen as well.
I throughly enjoyed this book! I felt as though the author had settled in with these characters and really made them feel authentic. I’m excited to read the next book! I guarantee you’ll have a hard time putting it down!
I received this book as part of an ARC but wanted to share my honest review, thoughts and opinions with you about the book.
This book was so good! Of course I loved the cover! Marion De Ré is a “new to me” author and I will be going back and reading all of her work! This book is a spin-off of the One Girl Trilogy but you don’t need to read the series beforehand.
I could feel the sparks flying off the page when Melissa (Mel) & Braden first met at the bar! It was hot!!! I loved how they literally slammed into each other again in her estranged father’s office the next day too. Talk about awkward. Even though she was avoiding relationships, she couldn’t seem to get away from Braden. Ultimately, they decided on a “friends with benefits” relationship with no strings attached that was surely not going to last.
Marion has a way with words - I felt like I was right there with this cast. I enjoyed watching the character development of these two MC’s. With Mel it was moving on/trying to forgive her father for what he had done to her & her mother. Braden is healing over his past losses - so much sadness!
Mel was full of sass and the banter between the two had me giggling. I always love a book with a strong independent FMC. Braden - ohhh, what a sweetheart. I love how he is always around to take care of her…even if he may have twisted the truth a bit.
The side characters were all so much fun! I love how down to earth they all are even though they are celebrities. How sweet was it that they made Mel’s half sisters feel so special! Even though I wasn’t a fan of Christian at the beginning of the book, I enjoyed seeing their relationship starting to mend. I really wanted to hate Helen but I just couldn’t…she was so welcoming to Mel.
This is a perfect, quick summer read with a great ending! The bonus epilogue was just icing on this yummy cake!

ARC Book Review Blurred Lines A Novel Written By Marion De Re’ Fiction - Romantic Comedy Published June 29, 2023 317 Pages ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved everything about this book. There’s a friends with benefits arrangement. There’s family drama. There are two characters who you can’t help but fall in love with.
Melissa Cooper, Mel, was a side character in the author’s Only Girl trilogy. She was the main character’s best friend. I love that a book was written for her. I love that this book opens with the wedding of the two main characters from that trilogy.
Braden Horne meets Mel one night. They both decide to enter into a friends with benefits arrangement. After Mel is sidelined by an injury, Braden steps in to help her. Seeing this other side of Braden, has Mel looking at him differently.
“Sometimes just the possibility of having it all is worth the risk.”
ARC review! I really enjoyed this book! It had great plot points and I loved the characters! I loved the development of the main characters but also the FMC relationship with her dad! The camaraderie with her friends was super sweet too! And while it references and mentions sex a good bit (it’s just sex trope), all the scenes are closed door or fade to black!
✨“It’s crazy how someone can take residence in your life in such a short time. Three weeks ago, I didn’t even know him. Now, he’s been gone less than twenty-four hours, and I miss him. Like, a lot.”✨
This was really cute and sweet but probably nothing I’ll be thinking about constantly
Thank you marion for giving me this opportunity to be an ARC reader for Melissa 's story who I must say stayed in the backgrounds of the Only Girl Trilogy but got lot more in Blurred Lines in her own book. Louise and Melissa both started from New York and both went through their different journeys but what I loved how distorted and NOT collected Melissa was. . I loved how focused she was on her career and when she injured herself I honestly got a miny heart attack myself because feet are everything for a dancer. Oh did I tell you Melissa is a fantastic lead dancer in Candice 's troupe. . The author has written the female characters so well rounded that yes I wouldn't lie it does make the readers focus on the female protagonist more. . Sometimes the wisest of us find comfort with the last person they plan to and the comical situation where Braden runs into Melissa in her estranged father's company. . If you have read Only Girl Trilogy, you will find characters from the book and Louise ofcourse but the book can also be read as a standalone novel because we got a lot going on in Braden's and Melissa's lives separately and together. I told Marion my favourite scene and I honestly didn't want the book to end.
I don't know what it is about a man taking care of a woman (or vice versa), but oh my goodness... it gets me every single time. As someone who deals with chronic pain and illness on the daily, maybe it's just that I understand full how meaningful that can be and it makes it seem more romantic to me because of that... I don't really know. What I do know is that whether they are sick or injured, there's just something about this idea that draws me in and tugs at my heart every single time. When Mel injures her leg, Braden steps up and takes care of her even when it broke all the rules they'd set in place for their relationship. I found his sweetness and his care/protectiveness for her to be super endearing... and it most certainly had me rooting for them to get their happily ever after.
When I pick up a RomCom, I like knowing that I am going to find myself laughing out loud at the funny moments, and hopefully swooning at the romantic ones. But when they mix in some more weighty topics along with all of that? Even better! That tends to take the story to a whole new level, and I love it. In this story, this comes with Mel's relationship with her father---a relationship that is strained at best. I really enjoyed seeing her work on her pasts hurts and learning to forgive as the story progressed.
I found that because of these things mentioned above, I really enjoyed this story and find myself looking forward to reading more from the author.
Content to keep in mind: Because I have typically reviewed Christian or otherwise clean reads, it's important to note that this really doesn't fall into those categories in case you're reading my reviews looking for only that. Blurred Lines IS a closed-door romance, BUT by its truest definition... in that the door closes right before the act. Though no details are given on the pages (even the kisses really don't go into any major detail), sex is a pretty key factor in this story and is talked about bluntly-more so than I've seen in other closed-door romances I've personally read where any fade to black moments tended to happen at the end of the book and was mostly limited to married couples or at the very least between those in a committed relationship and where the innuendos were a little more veiled. Based on the title, description, and reader expectations (don't skip any of these!), I did expect it to be more than I'm used to, but I was still a little surprised with just how open it actually was (when we look at it compared to others in the genre with similar content). If we look at The Writing Gals Clean and Wholesome Category Content Diagram, I think I expected a level 3. This one I would put at least at a 3.5-4. (Again, I wouldn't classify this as a 'clean' read-so this chart isn't the best representation anyway- but I hope does put it in perspective.) There is some language throughout the story as well. With all this said, this isn't one that is going to be for everyone. This is not to say anything negative against the book, but rather to let readers know upfront what to expect and if it's something they will be comfortable reading. If you read closed-door simply because you don't like the graphic details, there's a good chance you'll enjoy the story just as I did. On the other hand, if you read them because you ONLY prefer more clean and wholesome content, this isn't going to be it.
For me, while definitely different than what I typically read, I thought it was a really good story and I very much enjoyed it.
**I received an ARC for consideration. All opinions are my own.
I thoroughly enjoyed this fun rom com about which went through everything from resistance to relationships, absentee parents, mean girls and famous friends. Mel is determined to remain single and never fall in love with anyone. Her parents' divorce really did a number on Mel. She has had no contact with her father in 20 years, and she vows to never go through the horrible times that her mother went through when her father left her and her mom alone. She has a very jaded view of relationships.
When she meets Braden, you think she will break her self-imposed rules, but she stands fast until Braden comes up with a set of rules so that they can just enjoy each other. No strings attached.
Mel is a highly successful professional dancer. When she is injured and down for the count, Braden is there for her. Feelings are bubbling the surface for Braden, and she tries to tamp them down. Meanwhile her absentee father wants to see her. She is very bitter toward her father (with good reason). He disappeared from her life and never even acknowledged her birthday, Christmas or anything else. She decides to at least hear him out. You will have to read the book to find out more.
I enjoyed the banter between Mel and Braden and Mel and her famous friends. I do mean famous friends - think limos, private planes and bodyguards. I always enjoy living vicariously through the pages of book seeing how the rich and famous live. All of the characters had distinct and very likeable personalities. The characters will capture your heart, especially her twin half sisters. They are adorable. I enjoyed this book so much that I literally read almost the entire book in one sitting.
If you need a fun, light romantic read, you will enjoy this book.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
📖𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Estranged from her father for over 20 years, Mel doesn’t do relationships to protect her heart. When she meets a gorgeous man named Braden, who suggests they become friends with benefits, Mel jumps at the chance. But the lines start to blur when Mel ends up on bedrest, and Braden starts showing up at her house with food. To shake things up further, Mel’s dad is trying to get back into her life, and his right-hand man at work is none other than Braden.
💭𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: I really enjoyed this book!! It’s definitely a rom-com in the truest sense of the term - there is a lot of witty banter! The romance was swoony, but don’t let that fool you - some weightier topics are discussed. Mel works as a professional dancer and has famous friends, so her life feels very Hollywood. It’s the perfect mental escape into the land of the rich and famous.
This book is deliciously steamy but with fade-to-black scenes. There are lots of innuendos and discussions around sex, but we never see anything except kissing. I loved the chemistry between Mel and Braden. *Cough* Bathroom scene. *Clears throat*
I loved Mel. Having had a rough relationship with my father, I really could relate to Mel’s feelings and the emotional rollercoaster she experienced when her father tried to get back into her life.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Review: OMG! I loved this book! While it isn’t a spicy rom-com, it’s so perfect! The chemistry between Braden and Mel was amazing!! It’s what hooked me completely!! I loved their relationship and how sweet he was to her! While the book was from Mel’s perspective, you could totally tell what Braden was feeling just from his actions! He actually reminds me a lot of my husband in those aspects! I just loved everything about this book! I would definitely recommend!!

Blurred Lines book review was scheduled few days back and lot of things happened and the world went topsy-turvy. . Thank you Marion for giving me this opportunity to be an ARC reader for Melissa 's story who I must say stayed in the backgrounds of the Only Girl Trilogy but got lot more in Blurred Lines in her own book. I told Marion my favourite scene and I honestly didn't want the book to end. .
This was definitely a different read for me. I’ve never read a friends with benefits before and I honestly loved it! The chapters did jump around a lot which I struggled to keep up with at first, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the story.
The playful banter between Mel and Braden was brilliant! Especially when Mel has an unfortunate injury that '𝗖𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬' means they end up spending more time with together. Always winding one another up and pretending their feelings for each other don’t exist, it was a typical ‘ 𝗜 𝗗𝗜𝗗𝗡'𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗙𝗘𝗟𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗔𝗠𝗘’ romance!
Alongside Mel and Braden you had Mel’s family past coming back to haunt her that sets off a few dramatic turns, which I thought was a great side story and kept the interest going, you want to know what happens between her and Braden but also if she sorts things out with her family!
The side characters also played a huge part too, which I absolutely 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗗! Mel has such a great support network which really ties in to how she figures things out.
Overall, I really loved this closed door romance and I’m so thankful I was given the opportunity to review the book.
There is a reader’s expectations before you get started and I knew this was a trope of friends with benefits, but it did say it faded to black. I knew this going in so I can’t be mad about it, but I just didn’t think there would be as much as there was. I personally didn’t want as much as there was. There is also mild cursing used. But with that being said I did enjoy the story and it was a quick and easy read. I read it all in one day. Mel knows who she is and knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. Until she realizes what she wants is a relationship when she was never looking for one. She also has to deal with past issues of her dad abandoning her and having two new half-sisters. And on top of that she gets what could be a career ending injury. Braden is there to help Mel in any way he can even though it goes against the rules that they set in place. Braden is a sweet guy who also has some past issues that he hasn’t worked all the way through. Overall if you don’t mind the steam then this is a great book to read. I loved the characters and how they grew throughout the book.
I had a great time reading this story, so much that I went to bed waaay past my bedtime to read it in one go! Thanks Marion! ;)
What I loved more in this book was the amazing and flirty banter between Braden and Mel *chef's kiss* It's been a while since I've read such a great banter. It seemed so natural and made the characters jump off the page.
There are a lot of funny rom-com moments but also a deeper theme of forgiveness throughout the book that I really liked. It's a great change to see more substance in those light reads.
Last but not least: This is what closed door really means. I hate that more and more when you search for closed door you get clean books. I don't like sex on page, but I DO like when the characters really feel authentic. And for me, if they don't swear a little (I don't like heavy language but mild) or have premarital sex (not on page), they don't feel like real adults. I LOVED Blurred Lines because we had those delicious fade to black scenes that are really classy but enough to make your heart race just a little!
Thanks to the the author for the eARC and the chance to offer my candid review.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (0-5) Steam: 🔥🔥 (0-5) fade-to-black but they talk a lot about sex and attraction.
What I’m Starry-Eyed Over: 🤩 1st person single POV & a bonus extended epilogue told from Braden’s perspective. 🤩 Chapter titles—it feels like such a treat! 🤩 One night stand re-meet-cute!! 🤩 “Friends” with benefits deal, perfectly no strings attached. 🤩 Great friend group, even as a mix of celebrities. Rich people birthday party, bachelorette party, and wedding fun. 🤩 A dive bar and Braden’s birthday special. Yes, please. He’s total book boyfriend material. 🤩 Great characters & characterization. But with growth, yay! 🤩 The way Braden takes care of Mel—he takes care of her is such a good trope and Marion De Re does it so hot for a fade-to-black. 🤩 Character growth, family love, and forgiveness. 🤩 Such good attraction and flirting, then fade-to-black. Sizzling chemistry!! 🤩 Possessive touches (and maybe a punch).
What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About: 💫 Nothing at all. Oh, wait. I’ve got to go get my bonus epilogue!!

𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 & 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 -
First of all, I 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 it when I can read a book in one sitting - this one ticks the box for that! It's written well, it flows and is fast paced. Sometimes I felt a bit confused about what was going on as the chapters jumped around a bit but all in all I found it to be an enjoyable read.
I absolutely adored the banter that Mel and Braden have, I had plenty of laugh out loud moments with these two. I really enjoyed how they both grew closer when Mel became injured.
𝗕𝗢𝗧𝗛 Mel and Braden have loses and trauma to deal with and I think they manage to navigate those as they have each other. There's instant chemistry between them as they have a one night stand before meeting again later on - what can happen when two people who don't believe in love end up accidentally falling in love?
𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗜 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 - • happily ever after • sassy heroine • banter • friends with benefits
If you read the Only Girl series then you know Mel, Louise's best friend. Well this book is all about Mel and her love journey! Mel is totally against relationships, or so she thinks. One night stands are more her thing. A one night stand with a guy, Braden, from a club is just what she needed. Mel's story has lots of twists and turns!
I absolutely loved this story!! I loved Mel in the Only Girl series she was always so fun and carefree. I am so glad to get an entire book dedicated to her and Braden. So many great moments happen in this book! I also loved that all the characters in the friend group from the first series were carried over into this stand a lone book. It was fun getting to read more about them from Mel's side.
Blurred Lines is available now and I highly reccommemd reading it. And if you haven't read the Only Girl series (not a must, but definetely would reccommend because they were fabulous) you totally should that way you get the whole background for this book.
Thank you @marionderewrites for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC read for another AMAZING book! I love getting the opportunity!
I loved Mel in the previous books. She was such a fun and spunky side character. Love that she got her turn in the spotlight.
Mel's views on relationships are very skewed because of her past with her dad. She is very strong-willed and a go-getter. She doesn't "need" anyone but soon realizes that there's something out there for her after all.
What could have been a career ending injury Mel bounced back as a dancer as her relationship blooms with her friend with benefits fling. He surprises her with his take charge attitude and is so sweet to her.
I loved watching this story unfold. It's a very sweet yet captivating story that I finished very quickly because I had to know how it played out in all aspects of her life.
Thank you, @marionderewrites for the copy and for allowing me to read and give my honest review.
I thought this rom com was absolutely wonderful. It was so cute, so fun! And it had banter! I do love some good banter!
Melissa (Mel) doesn't have relationships - she has fun. She has no interest in happily ever after, just happy for now. She makes an exception to her rule with Braden. Initially, it was only going to be one night, but 1) he is gorgeous, 2) he is an amazing lover, 3) he has the same views on fun, not relationships, as Mel and 4) he works with her absentee father, so a bit of revenge. Mel's father is trying to rebuild their relationship, which doesn't exist because he left when she was young and never contacted her. Mel has mixed feelings about getting to know him and his new family, including twin sisters.
However, when Mel is in need of assistance, Braden shows up for her. Will they still be able to keep their hearts out of their arrangement?
Closed-door/Cracked-Door Friends with Benefits Forgiveness Father/Daughter relationship Pop star lifestyle
If you loved the movies “No Strings Attached” and “Friends with Benefits”, you will definitely love this one.
Marion de Re is the closed door Emily Henry.
This book was a fun time! It is listed as a sweet romance. Just a heads up, this is NOT a wholesome romance. There is insinuated intimacy outside of marriage, fade to black and mild language. The door is closed… but I would personally call this door a bit cracked.
I was very impressed and surprised with the ending. Marion’s writing is so cathartic. I was really touched by the themes of forgiveness and healing.
It’s a great vacation read! Definitely something you can finish in one day.
I loved Mel from the only girl trilogy so to see her story I was so excited. After a hot one night stand Mel gets a message from her dad who she hasn't seen in 25 years. The meeting doesn't go as planned. Her feelings are still very raw about her dad which I can totally understand she goes to leave and runs into Braden her one night stand.
I really enjoyed this story. It was nice to see everyone Jack and Lou , Candice and W@tson Brina and Cole. I enjoyed meeting Helen and Christian although some of the things he did made me mad he was trying....and of course the girls I was so proud of Mel with them. I loved Braden so much he was sweet and strong. If you loved only girl or even if you haven't read only girl check this out!!!
I really liked this book with all the banter between the MCs!
Mel is a girl surrounded by rich and famous friends but still seems down to earth. She meets Braden one night at a club and after they decide to become "friends with benefits", she discovers he works for her estranged bio dad.
Braden is a sweetheart. He had some tough losses he had to deal with while young. When Mel is injured, he becomes a really good friend.
I like the redemption that Mel's dad goes through in her eyes though it's a tough thing to deal with. I love her 2 little half sisters and how they helped in their own cute way to lead the way for her and get dad to mend a relationship that wasn't ever there.
This book is a spin off from a character in a series that I haven't read but would love to go back and read!
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I have reviewed Marion’s books before and that I’ve always loved them! So when the opportunity to review her next book came up, I obviously had to say yes.
I always liked Mel from the start so reading her story had me quite excited. She’s a super fun character and very easy to love. Braden is mysterious at first but an absolute sweetheart once you get to know him. The two of them together are perfect! I really liked their journey from ‘Friends with Benefits’ to slowly falling in love.
Unlike Marion’s previous books, this one has a lot more LOLs and a little bit of spice in it!
If you’re looking for a quick, fun read this one’s it!
An amazing sweet and funny story . Mel and Braden meet at a club and the have a one night stand . The next day when she visit her father who had to see him for 26 years they come face to face . Thank you so much to Marion De Re for the complimentary copy of Blurred Lines. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Blurred Lines is a delightful romantic comedy. It has all my favorite genres:
Friends with Benefits Sassy heroine Family Drama Cinnamon Roll hero
The banter between Mel and Braden was steamy and I enjoyed the fade to black. I wish I was a part of Mel’s friend group because they are all amazing !
It’s strange how easy it is to break your own relationship rules once that perfect someone comes into your life. It was the perfect rainy day read for me.
This is the first book my Marion I have read, but it will not be the last ! I have added the Only Girl Trilogy to my TBR.
Mel doesn’t do relationships, her parents divorce really messed with her. She hasn’t been in contact with her dad in 20 years. But that’s about to change. And so is her friends with benefits relationship with Braden. After an injury that put a serious damper on her career.
This is such a fun read! It’s fast paced, always something going on and the characters are so likable. And quite funny to. Lots of banter!
Mel goes thru a lot, family drama can be really cliché but this just works for me. Working things out with her dad and trying to overcome the past. Everyone can relate to that on some level.
One thing that could be a little clearer is the timeline. It’s a bit fussy, she heals awfully fast and I got a little confused. But besides that I really liked this one. The cover is so cute, love the purple! And I have to say the single pov is preferable here.
