1/6: Will Be Wild

Rate this book
On January 6, 2021, over 100,000 people showed up at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to attend President Trump's "Stop the Steal" rally. For four hours, the crowd was whipped into a frenzy by speakers' exhortations to "Never give up! Never conceded!"

The President of the United States brought the rally on the Ellipse to a close with these words, "Something's wrong here. Something's really wrong. Can't have happened…we fight. We fight like Hell and if you don't fight like Hell, you're not going to have a country anymore."

Minutes later, a mob of Trump's supporters attacked the United States Capitol Building to prevent the joint session of Congress from certifying the Electoral College votes. The rioters assaulted Capitol Police officers and, within an hour, had broken through the police lines protecting several of the building's entrances. Over two thousand insurrectionists swarmed inside, vandalizing and looting the House and Senate Chambers, the National Statuary Hall, and Congressional offices, including the office of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

As rioters ransacked the Capitol, they searched for, called out, and threatened many lawmakers by name. They even erected a gallows on the lawn west of the Capitol Building.

At 2:24 p.m., the President

Mike Pence didn't have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!

Upon seeing the President's tweet, the mob inside the Capitol Building took up the chant, "Hang Mike Pence! Hang Mike Pence! Hang Mike Pence!"

1/6: WILL BE WILD seamlessly braids together what actually did happen on January 6th with the terrifying and all too plausible alternate history of what might have happened. The story's pace will keep readers turning pages from the breathtaking first paragraph to the startling climax. Readers will long remember both how this book begins and how it ends.

"1/6: Will Be Wild" was written by Gary Beene. Beene wrote about what happened in 2021 at the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. The book is written like a screenplay in one sense with a play-by-play accounting. An expansive dialogue creates a scene that plays out splendidly for those who like following entire conversations as they unfold. Beene blends real life with fiction for a pretty good rendition of the events of that day. While I do not agree with everything the author wrote, it is a piece of fiction and not meant to be reality.

Since Beene based the characters on real people, it made them relatable and real. The pacing of the book is perfect. For those who are liberals, this will seem more realistic and possible than if you are a conservative. Liberals will love this book and conservatives will hate it. This book will help conservatives understand how liberals see Trump and his supporters, which will be beneficial to them. Beene shows what it feels like from the other side.

This is something you should read regardless of your position on the issue. It makes for good entertainment if you can leave the politics out. This book was actually recommended to me by a conservative author who loved how it challenged him.

What a wild ride

Seamlessly fusing actual events and actions by people involved in the January 6th riot at the Capitol, and fictional events and characters, the author paints us a picture of what could have happened on January 6th 2021. The book starts off with a bang metaphorically, and just takes us from there. A fast pace plot that takes us through so many twists and turns that are hard to keep track of. This book is essentially a train wreck that you can't look away from. I really liked this book, while I know that it is fiction I think that it is also a good reminder to us of what could go wrong if Donald Trump were to win or lose the election again. I think either way we have to be vigilant in order to prevent the events that are detailed in this book from becoming history and real life.

In the book "Will Be Wild", author Gary Beene presents us with a fictional story where he mixes real and fictional events, generating an alternative history where it begins with the hanging of Vice President Mike Pence in the Capitol at the hands of an angry mob following the President Donald Trump, for refusing to present an alternative vote. The name of the book originates from a phrase taken from then-President Trump, who invited his followers to appear on January 6 at the Capitol to attend the "Stop the Steal" rally, in order to protest what he claimed, had cheated him with the vote count, making the following comments: "Something is wrong here. Something is really wrong. It can't have happened... we fought. We fought like hell and if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore." Prompted by Trump's tweets, the horde inside the Capitol began chanting "Hang Mike Pence."
The author leads us in an exciting plot, very well written, alternating reality with fiction to the point that one believes that one is reading a book that tells real events, and not something invented, generating an addiction to reading to find out what is going on. to happen. To wonder how we could reach this extreme in our nation and what would have been if...?

A book to rethink politics and its institutions.

This book puts us in context about what happened at the “stop the steal” rally in the United States and also proposes different scenarios from what happened there. It is no lie to any American that this movement has been creating false conspiracies for approximately 8 years leading to scenarios like this one in which the same movements held vice president Mike Pence.

All of this seems like a story of lies or science fiction but it is real and the author impeccably narrates not only the events but his point of view of how history could have unfolded if the democratic structures were not so weak.

Undoubtedly, this text is an invitation to rethink several things: the veracity of the news that appear in networks, the legitimacy of social movements that may pursue interests towards certain political figures and finally the need we have as citizens to protect democracy because although we see it very strong in the background it can hang by a single thread. I highly recommend this book.

Great book

This intriguing, interesting, and engaging book really got me into reading thriller novels. Gary Beene did an incredible job when writing this book, the combination of chaotic and the unpredictable nature of human beings against the catastrophes in the world made the book really enjoyable and compelling.

When reading this book, I noticed a great plot full of comprehensive looks at the diverse experiences and struggles throughout the characters development through the story.
Also, I wanted to highlight the intense and immersive atmosphere created by the author; his vivid and great descriptions made me as a reader engage and capture into the narrative. On another hand, the author did a good job creating the characters. They were well developed and relatable, a great component to the book. Overall, this fast paced, action driven book is perfect for anyone who wants a book with the perfect combination of a thrilling plot and suspense.

A mixture of fiction with reality. Highly recommended
“1/6: Will be Wild” is an enthralling book penned by Gary Beene that part of the story focuses on the important event that took place last 2021 in the USA at the Capitol building. Donald Trump’s supporters came together to protest against Joe Biden’s presidency and riots started.
It’s quite shocking and unbelievable the way those people reacted. Here, the writer mingled some facts of that day with fictional events; he came up with a page-turning story that might help citizens understand the reasons for that attack. The information provided here is accurate and gives details of this incident that not everyone knows.
In short, I think that it’s a challenging book with surprises for readers. The way the facts and the fictional events are told is entertaining. I recommend it.

attention to detail and the almost effortless integration of real-life events

This book is absolutely gripping and terrifying at the same time. It does feel like reliving a nightmare. With the detail that is has a deeper understanding of the tensions and political vibes that led to such a tragic event. The descriptions of the chaos and violence that happened on January 6, 2021, are haunting and eye-opening at the same. It is a really dark place. I loved the author's attention to detail and the almost effortless integration of real-life events that make this story feel all too real. It reminded me of the fragility of our democracy and the importance of upholding democratic norms and the rule of law. We should definitely fight for what we have and fight in order to improve it. But never take it for granted.

Will be Wild is a book written by Gary Beene and it tells the tragic story of how The President of the United States, Donald Trump, ignited his supporters to attack the United States Capitol Building to prevent the joint session of Congress from certifying the Electoral College votes. This was a stepping stone in America's political history and with this narrative, readers will be able to fully comprehend what happened, the cost of it all and what we should expect next as a nation. Although these events are real, Beene's writing creates a storytelling atmosphere that sunk me in! He interacts with the reader very well, which makes this an interesting fast-paced reading! Solid book.

This story about what happened and could have happened because of January 6, 2021 is written so seamlessly that I found myself having to stop and think...now wait....did that really happen (not on all of it, of course)? The factual events seamlessly transitioned to the "what could have happened" events which starts with a defining event and works back from that as a key component of murder mysteries which is definitely a good "hook". It would be good for everyone on the fence to read this book and think about what could have happened (not that what did happen wasn't bad enough) and to be forewarned. Unbelievable that IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN..... This story got my attention for sure. So darn good!

“1/6: will Be Wild” is a gripping and thought-provoking historical fiction novel that I totally enjoyed. The author’s writing style is masterful and compelling; he mixes tumultuous political events with a touch of action to create a vivid world.
The characters are fascinating, well-developed, and multidimensional; their struggles and fears feel palpable due to the detailed information provided by the writer. Readers can obtain a clearer and simpler comprehension of the effects of cultural attitudes and governmental decisions on human lives via their eyes.
As I’m an anxious reader, the whole time I was guessing the ending of this story as the tension was building chapter by chapter, yet it is so well written that it took me by surprise.

This is a book about January 6th, 2021, which will certainly go down as one of the most infamous and noteworthy days in American history up this point. It talks about the events of that day in a fair and unbiased way, and it also talks about what might have happened if things had gone a little differently.

Various leaders and common citizens feel differently about what took place, with some feeling that Trump and his supporters were justified, and others feeling the opposite. This book is an attempt to put these events in a historical context, and it does so successfully. Anyone interested in American history will doubtless enjoy this book and take what it has to say seriously. To ignore the events of that day likely mean repeating them someday, and that is a terrifying prospect.

This book centers the story on January 6, in a fiction mixed with those memorable events that lead to that day. It's an immersive read that brings the readers to the doorstep of the political world. The author's evocative writing brings in a narrative that explores the resilience and resourcefulness of the characters during a national crisis. The dialogue is descriptive, engaging, and, most significantly, entertaining. The book encourages its readers to broaden their minds and investigate before reading into what the media reports. The book delivers an alternate history of how the events occurred that day. It is believable and read with a grain of salt in mind, but you would most definitely enjoy this book if you like speculative fiction.

"1/6: Will Be Wild" is a political fiction written by Gary Beene that retells what happened on January 6, 2021, when thousands of supporters of former President Donald Trump stormed the US Capitol to try to stop the confirmation of Joe Biden as president-elect. Encouraged by the then president's rhetoric, between 2,000 and 2,500 Trump supporters violently entered the legislative headquarters in Washington.
In the book, the author presents an alternative story of what could have happened. I really liked the author's vision and how he was able to capture it in his work. I recommend this book to all those readers who are interested in political fiction and more specifically about the United States.

Gary Beene presents us with a narrative that feels like a chilling warning about what could have happened in January 2021 in the Capitol Assault in Washington D.C. As we follow the storyline, we see how the events on January 6 could have resulted in a more disastrous conclusion. The feeling of astonishment and dread permeates each page, serving as a reminder that while this is a fictional narrative, it reflects a reality that remains elusive to us.

Personally, "1/6: Will Be Wild" blew me away. I found the story so absorbing and well executed that I couldn't look away. Beene manages to capture not only the events, but also the emotions and tensions surrounding that fateful day. It is a reading that I recommend without hesitation.

I highly recommend this book, it is a great novel that links the real events of January 6, 2021, with an alternate history, offering a real exploration of the Capitol riot. The book exposes the intensity of the "Stop the Steal" rally, where the crowd, filled by provocative speeches, escalates into a violent mob. This mob storms the Capitol, driven by the rhetoric of political leaders, including a fundamental tweet from President Trump, exacerbating the chaos and danger. I loved the author's narrative. I think it is entertaining, blending actual facts with speculative scenarios that highlight the fragile nature of democracy when confronted with political extremism and misinformation. Through detailed character development and immersive scenes, the novel not only tells the events but also delves into the psychological and emotional impacts on those involved, from the rioters to lawmakers and law enforcement.

Will be Wild is a book by Gary Beene that tells the alternative history in one of the most turbulent and critical moments in the recent history of the United States. Long story short, The President of the United States, Donald Trump, urged his followers to outbreak the United States Capitol Building to prevent the joint session of Congress from certifying the Electoral College votes. Through the narrative, the author mixed real actions with an alternative plot. From the first pages, the pace of the story trapped me. The detailed descriptions and the vocabulary chosen by Beene gave realism and made the story touchable. Gary built such tension page after page, that it made it impossible for me to put the book down. I recommend it.

amazing book

In this book, the author narrates some fictional and real life events of what happened in January 2021 at The Capitol in Washington. It is a very interesting book because of its historical and political relevance as well as the point of view exposed by the author of the event.
The author, through all his narrative, uses dialogues and quotes, making easier the understanding of the plot and its development. It also facilitates the storytelling, the characters, and how the events took place.
I highly recommend reading this book, even if you’re not from USA, because of the magnitude of the event and because the main message the author is trying to convey through all the book.

Will Be Wild is a book that describes in detail the riot of the Capitol, an act that I consider to be extremely anti-democratic. I still can´t understand how the main responsible is not in jail, the whole thing is unbelievable for an organized and institutionalized country like the USA.

Gary Beene brings light to the matter, narrating events that transcended the media coverage. An interesting read for people who want to know what really happened and how people were manipulated on this obscure day for America's democracy. I do hope society learns from this event and new measures implemented, this is one of those things that can´t happen again!

This is a work that immerses us fully in one of the most turbulent and critical moments in the recent history of the United States: the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Through a narrative that skillfully mixes real events with an alternative plot, the author leads us to reflect on the events that shook the country and the possible ramifications of what could have happened had it taken a different turn.
From the first paragraph, the rhythm of the story captures the reader. The tension builds page after page, keeping readers guessing and eager to find out what will happen next. Will Be Wild has left a deep impression on me. I recommend it.

This was a very fast read for me. Since the beginning, I was really into the narrative and the idea of having a real-life event with a different outcome. I think the author's wording and his style was on point and delivers a really captivating read and also it makes readers reflect on how democracy works and how weak it is when things like that happen.
Overall, this book had everything I wanted to find in a read. It kept me wondering and wanting to know how things will resolve, and also touching every sensitive and important topic.
This is a great read to those really into politics to have a different perspective on things.

Hard read, but good

Despite this book being a pretty tough read for me, I'd still recommend it to readers who would be interested in this story. The events of January 6, 2021 still make me feel sick to my stomach, and this book takes it even further than what actually happened and imagines a wholly different outcome on that day. I really liked the way it was written, semi-factual, with events, speeches, and tweets from that day folding out with time stamps. This would be a good read for someone with a fascination for the Jan 6 events. Really creative and well-written book, and I liked the interesting and unique concept.

What would have happened on January 6, 2021, if the “Stop the Steal” rioters had been able to go all the way? What if they had actually hung Mike Pence? In this gripping and often frightening novel, Gary Beene explores an alternate history of the recent United States that might so easily have happened. The novel will keep you on the edge of your seat to find out what happens next as it tears through a disturbing parallel history in which insurrectionists triumph and the USA embarks on a different path. I definitely recommend this book for fans of alternative history and political thrillers. I am giving it five out of five stars.

This book walks us through the assault on the Capitol in 2021, mixing real events from that with fiction. This blend is what actually makes the plot an innovative and catchy one, inviting us all to read it until the very end.
One of the book's strengths is its descriptions, which vividly bring to life the settings and characters. While the detailed accounts occasionally slow the pacing, they also contribute to the immersive reading experience.
Beene strikes a balance between easy explanations of historical events, fictional ones, and characters' endeavors, making sure that readers of all backgrounds can appreciate the narrative since it captures their attention right away.

Discover the history

I have read few books with this incredible style. Will Be Wild presents a unique narrative that combines real life events with a novelistic style that immerses the reader in the facts from another point of view. The reader becomes part of the story, which is a very interesting resource used by the author, because he does not limit the book to only American citizens but to all those readers who are looking for unique, entertaining and real stories. Although the events of the book took place a couple of years ago, its narrative and the current world context make this book timeless. So, on the contrary, it is becoming more and more relevant.
