Dear reader, if you love rescue cats, goats who wear pajamas, and a cozy bookstore, you’re going to love this series by Eryn Scott. Hold on to your hats. The town of Button is as cute as they come, but that doesn’t mean it’s free of murder. These books are clean with no foul language or gore. Each book and mystery stands alone. Curl up under a cozy blanket, cuddle with a cat (or two), and come join Lou as she solves mysteries in the town of Button.
Eryn Scott is the author of heartwarming cozy mysteries. Her novels feature close friendships and strong families because those are the most important things in her life -- a little humor doesn't hurt either.
She calls the Pacific Northwest home and doesn't plan on changing that anytime soon. Eryn loves to hike, horseback ride, knit, ski, and read. She believes musicals are the greatest thing since lattes, even though she's not particularly good at singing or dancing -- hey, a girl can dream, right?
Her first cozy mystery series, Pepper Brooks, is based on some of the greats in classic literature. Each book features a different author from Shakespeare to Austen. Eryn's newest series is set in a little town called Stoneybrook. The Stoneybrook Mysteries follow local jam-maker Hadley James as she solves mysteries in her town's year-round farmers market. From deceased knitters to sabotaged florists, these crafty citizens keep Hadley and her twin brother, a deputy sheriff, on their toes. Pebble Cove Teahouse Mysteries are great for readers who love a hint of paranormal with their mysteries. These books feature a tiny town tucked between craggy coastline and rocky shores with quirky characters of both the living and non-living variety. Look for new releases from all three of these series in 2022 as well as Eryn Scott's new cozy series.

Whiskers and Words becomes the center of attention only not in a way that Lou would ever want. A string of thefts is going around and strange messages that seem to be connected are appearing in her shop. When the thieves go too far and kill a neighbor and friend Lou can’t stand on the sidelines she’s got to help figure this puzzle out. I loved this book. Puzzles, crazy unexplainable thefts and a sweet wandering cat oh and let’s not forget love is in the air. A joy to read. This was like one of those logic puzzles we had the clues and we just needed to figure them out. I really felt like one of the group helping to solve this mystery. Loved the change in George’s life!! And Goldie and her pop up appearances were just the perfect lighthearted inserts! Wonderful story!.

I loved this book. This author never fails to come up with a new and entertaining way to present her mysteries to her readers, that keeps them hooked, well it does me. In this case it is secret codes in cryptic messages, which will have you reaching for pen and paper to workout yourself. This was such a fun thing, in addition to the mystery which also keeps you guessing. The characters are just as good, although in this book it was more focused on the love life of a friend, which I don't normal like but as it was woven into the mystery, it actually worked. This is book ten and the characters are so well established, that it feels like you are spending time with old friends, in a place that everybody wants to visit. You also can't forget the antics of the rescue cats who add the humour and cuteness to the series. I hope the author never runs out of plots ideas for this series. When Lou's book store whiskers and words gets rob, it turns out she is the first of many. The neighbouring town's join together to try and stop thieves, after one of the robberies turns deadly and a shop owner is killed. Different shops are robbed and at different times making it hard for the police to predict when the next shop will be hit. Until Lou discovers a cryptic clue hidden in her shop, can she help to stop the thieves before somebody else gets hurt? I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Lou is at it again. This time she is the target. Wow the twist and turns for this is crazy. And I love the fact that the person used notes to give information which you felt that it's just a normal note but if you look closely there are is a hidden message in it. So fun to find out.
And while in the midst of finding out who is the culprit, Wesley and George were getting closer than ever because both of them work together as a team to check the security cameras and who return the books that were stolen. Yeah, and the mastermind is trying to rob the whole town however, they shot one of the business owner, who was the owner of the boutique shop which is right beside Lou's bookshop.
Lou gave love advise to Wesley and George since both of them didn't communicate their feelings that well and because of that there are misunderstanding between each other. And as they work together they found out more of each other.
And of course Lou and friends are working together to find out the culprit getting as many clues as they can. They didn't know that the culprit is just nearby. Can't spoil it. You will know when you read it.
You can purchase this on Amazon and it's available in KU.
I do enjoy reading books in the cute series of cosy mysteries set in a small town with every street named after sewing items.
Lou moved from New York after her husband died and opened a bookshop with a difference. Not just bookshop but a cat rescue centre too, the cats free to roam the shop during the day are also available for rehoming. Lou used to live in the upstairs apartment but has recently moved in with Noah and his daughter, next door to Lou's best friend, Willow, who has recently moved in with her police detective boyfriend Easton.
Lou is robbed at the shop, and a whole box of illustrated Gullivers Travels was taken. Other robberies occur, and then copies of Lou's stolen items find their way, one by one, back onto the bookshops shelves. Never one to shy away from getting justice, Lou starts to investigate what's happening.
I finished this book in 1 sitting, I just couldn't put it down. Whilst each book is a standalone story, the books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and wider storyline.
I can't wait to read the next book in the series.... I'd highly recommend this series to anyone liking cats and cosy mysteries, what's better than a good book with a cat on your lap and a cuppa by your side!
Welcome to Button, a small, charming town where everybody knows almost everyone else in town. The main character, Louisa, owns and operates the local bookstore where her foster cats are allowed to roam and choose their new human to adopt. In addition to the amusing scenarios resulting from her feline friends, Lou and her best friend, Willow, along with their significant others, always seem to find unwanted trouble. In this story, trouble starts at Lou’s bookstore and quickly moves into other businesses, as well as businesses in neighboring towns. There are thefts, murder, disturbing rumors, a mystery feline, and so much more to keep the reader wanting more. The book would not be complete without some adorable romance mixed in. Although part of a series, this book can easily be read as a standalone. The author is particularly good at providing backstories of the characters just in case you haven’t read the previous books in the series. The story and mysteries held my interest from start to finish, and I found the characters captivating. I most definitely recommend this book.

So....I kinda guessed who it was almost as soon as the "villain" was introduced. Granted, I missed a few things since there were more than 1 (not a spoiler since synopsis does mean thieves, as in plural 😜) It was a bit slow at some parts, what with the Stars Hollow style meetings and stuff lol I found it odd though that after 9 solved crimes under her belt, Lou would act so.....sketchy. She KNEW she was off putting to her customers and knew she had to be sly and yet she kept being obvious which made it easy to pull things over on her. I found that a bit too convenient and uncharacteristic of her. She's usually smarter than that and more put together and this novel seemed to put her back on amateur level lol George's love life was also ridiculous, all because neither party would TALK 😂 But still, overall good story. I enjoyed the use of the books and bookstore as a play to receive messages and found myself intrigued by the author that snuck a book into her store and how it all connected to the murder of Lou's friend/neighbor. I think Scott put it together brilliantly at the end! It was a fun mystery and of course, lots of kitty fun too 😍
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE Erin Scott's books. She writes great stories, with wonderful, relatable characters, exciting plots and mysteries, and the books are ALWAYS enjoyable and readable - all without annoying buzz phrases, and always leaving me wanting the next book NOW.
And of course, this book (book 10 in the series) is no different. The characters are sometimes quirky, always delightful. At this point, they seem like friends.
Lou's business neighbor and friend is killed in a robbery in the wonderful town of Button. Lou, of course, gets involved, along with friends and her wonderful boyfriend, Noah.
There are clues and twists and turns and side stories going on, and I can pretty much bet you won't figure out who done it and why til it's revealed. I sure didn't.
Yes, you can read this as a standalone, but if you can, start at the beginning and get to know all of these characters!
And yes, I am READY for the next book in the series!!

Lou has been documenting a wandering stray cat on her blog that she’s named Gulliver. Tying in to that, she’s ordered some special edition Gulliver’s Travel books. But before the books are even shelved, she’s duped by some thieves who distract her with a sick kitten. Soon other shops in Button and the surrounding area are being hit by the petty thieves. Things go too far when her friend, Heather, is killed during one of the robberies. The police are stumped and Wes is hired to investigate by a group of shopkeepers. Even more strange, volumes of the books keep turning up in random places in Lou’s bookstore. She finds a cryptic note in one that leads to a break in the case. Can she and her friends outmaneuver these thieves and solve the case?
Another delightful and puzzling cozy from the talented Eryn Scott. Filled with humorous literary references and sweet cats, visiting Button is like a mini vacation. The friendships between Lou, Willow, Georgie, and the rest of the crew are heartwarming. Goldie is a breath of fresh air and I love how Noah & his ex are coparenting with Lou. Longtime readers of the series will also be thrilled that Georgie and Wes finally come to their senses.

This is 10th book in an ongoing series and while it can be read as a stand-alone you might enjoy it more if you have read at least the first book in the series. There is a series of robberies all over Button with Lou's bookstore being the first to be robbed. After her neighbour gets shot during a robbery Lou and her friends have to find the culprit. I have read every title in the series and I enjoyed them all. Reading a new book is like visiting old friends with a mystery thrown in. I enjoyed reading this book very much and am already looking forward to the next book in the series.

Ms. Scott, if you read reviews, please not that this book does not work well on Kindle. Most of the clues to the robbery are on lists that are in solid block form that is too tiny to read on my Voyage even when I click the image and use the increase size tool. I can almost read it if I add my own magnifying glass, but that interrupts the flow of the story. There is absolutely no reason why the information couldn't have been repeated in regular text over which the Kindle gives me font size control. There were quite a few cell phone text message blocks in the story, but their font was large enough to read. Please don't do that again!
There's a crime spree going around the local towns, and it soon becomes clear that Lou's bookstore is at the center of the action. Not knowing who to trust, Lou relies on her longtime friends and neighbors to try to solve the case before anyone else gets hurt—or worse.
I appreciate the way that self-published books are highlighted in here. We've expanded the suspect pool to folks outside Button, which feels appropriate, given that there really can only be so many murderers in such a small town. But of course, what we're really all here for is the peak cat content, and I'm not at all disappointed.
I love this series so much! Books, cats, mystery, and a bit of romance add up to a really fun and entertaining read.
Eryn is my go-to author for cozy mysteries. All of her heroines are likeable and relatable characters who are smart and interesting, and Lou is no exception. I like getting to see her really settled with Noah and finding herself and her store a big part of the town. The mystery had enough twists to keep me guessing and this is one of my favorites of the series.
I can't recommend this book and series enough!
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Dangerous Infurmation is book 10 in A Whiskers and Words Mystery by Eryn Scott. I thought Dangerous Infurmation was excellent and a bit different. There is a string of robberies which hits Lou's bookstore as well as other businesses ending in death of an owner. I thought that the ending was excellent. I was surprised to find out the why of the robberies. Eryn Scott wrote a fabulous book. Don't mess with Lou's cats!. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Lou finds herself in the middle of a sinister plot. After being robbed she starts to find clues to the next targeted location in her shop. It is more than disconcerting when she realizes that there are a number of people thinking she is complicit with the robberies. Lou and the gang make a great team. This can be read as a standalone.

The town of Button is inundated by a slew of robberies, including Lou's shop. Soon the crimes escalate and one of the shop owners is found dead. It's up to Lou and her feline friends to find out what is really going on in their small town before someone else gets hurt. This is a fun, small-town, cozy mystery and I await the next story in the series.

Another great read from Author Eryn Scott. I really like this series. While each book can be read alone, I would recommend the whole series. This book and series are great for anyone who loves cozy mysteries with plenty of cats and books, since the protagonist owns a book store that also fosters out cats. It is a great book, with plenty of mystery, some romance and humor.
This is book 10 of A Whiskers and Words Mystery. In this book thieves still some books at the bookshop by having a kitten in their hands. But next thing they know that the clothing store near the bookshop the owner tried to stop the thieves but was killed. What is going to happen? Was it the same guys who robbed the bookshop?.

First they steal a shipment of special illustrated books of Gulliver’s Travels; then they sneak them back into the bookstore one at a time, sometimes with clues in them. And Louisa’s romance with Noah keeps getting stronger. But what about George? Can she find romance this time around? It’s complicated. It’s an interesting and fun book to read. The mystery ain’t too bad either. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review after receiving a free copy of this book.
This is such a cute series! And the mysteries are different and well thought out. In this book, a series of thefts is taking place in and around Button. Things take an odd turn when some of the stolen items turn up. Such an interesting story with a twist ending. And a new cat in the bookstore! I love following these characters and seeing their lives evolve and change. Such a great cast of characters.
Another good book, in this book Lou and a bunch of shops in counties close to Button have crimes. It up to Louand the gang to figure it out. Wonderful down home characters that are fun to read about. I would recommend it.

Finished it and pretty much one sitting. I am going to be ordering the physical book as soon as possible I want my own copy.
String of robberies start at Lou shop. The steal a box of Gullivers Travel Books. They use Lous shop to communicate. neighboring shop owner is murdered. Shop owners the other towns began to suspect Lou as a conspirator. Which is exactly what the murderer wants
Looked forward to this 10th book in the series. The mystery is not too hard to solve, sometimes the characters do things that seem somewhat preposterous … but the setting is cute, it’s lighthearted reading typical of the cozy mystery and when you get done with this, the author has several other fun series to read.
This had everything that I was hoping for from a tenth entry in the a Whiskers and Words Mystery series. It had that mystery element that I was hoping for and enjoyed the writing style. The characters felt like they were supposed to and glad I got to go back to this world.

Light-hearted and fun mystery that has lots of twists and turns that keep you guessing. The main character is quirky and has a lot of personality. There are so many clues that need to be unraveled to find out what the mystery is. Good read.

Each book in the series works fine as a stand alone story, but it has been nice to read all of them and see the progression of the main characters. Some elements are predictable but not annoyingly so.
The characters are enjoyable, and enjoy the learning more about the community and residents with each book.
I really enjoyed this latest Whiskers and Words Mystery book. It's fun to see the friends develop in their relationships, and the mystery kept me guessing!

I was thrilled to find another Whiskers & Words book in my email. I love reading about Lou, Noah and their friends. And this book was a total surprise, an unexpected ending, I was way off and that made the book even better in my mind. I read it in one afternoon, I couldn't put it down!
