Kyrah is freshman in college who lacks the experience of what some would call a "normal" college girl. She's never had sex, she doesn't drink; she just focuses on her studies and her relationship with God. However, all of that changes once she meets her very first boyfriend. He changes her life and introduces her to a new life she'd never even thought of. But it isn't all good.
Kyrah experiences a great deal of love, disappointment, heartbreak, and some new experiences as she navigates her new young adulthood. While she's excited to experience new things, she eventually realizes that it's not worth it if she loses herself and neglects the most important relationship in her life. Will she find her way back?
This was a Great read!! I was pleasantly surprised to find this was a Christian Novel. And quickly you learn this isn’t like others AT ALL….
This book was so easy to get into. Once you start reading you can’t stop because you’re so invested in our main FMC. She’s so pure of heart. Youre with her while she struggles with sexuality and faith. And you find yourself understanding her plight for wanting to experience MORE! Sometimes you agree with her… sometimes you don’t… but the lessons are definitely there. 🙌🏾🙌🏾
First of all, I would like to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Yeah, there were some times when I wanted to have words with a few of the characters, but all in all, it was still a really good book. This story reminded me a lot of the Young Adult novels I used to read back in high school and even took me back to those times via the main character.
There were times when I was annoyed with Kyrah, but I had to remember that she was only 18 and when I was 18, I was all over the place as well—constantly overthinking and questioning my choices. Doing things that I wasn't 100% sold on. I believe that Kyrah represents all of the sheltered and inexperienced teens out there. She got a little taste of freedom and it was hard for her to stay away from temptations.
Now, I'm not nor have I ever been a really religious/spiritual person. Technically I am Christian, but I don't really have an interest in anything except the general belief in God and the fact that he loves us no matter what. But with that being said, I loved how the author incorporated Kyrah's belief and faith in the story. It's something that was important to her and I couldn't help but respect her. It was honestly refreshing to see.
I won't spoil this book, but I just want to say that I really enjoyed this story. I'll be starting the second book soon but I am scared because I read the blurb and I already wanna throw hands lol
When Kyrah made the decision to start dating, her freshman year completely changed. Studying books and the Bible was simple for her, but she lacked experience in romantic relationships. She fell in love not once, but twice, and her fear would not stop her. She believed that the boy she was in love with to would be her forever, but she soon came to the conclusion that this might not be the case. from attempting to maintain her purity, continue her education, and appease God. Kyrah must decide whether her values or her lust come first in her life This book gets a 4/5 stars in my library and I can't wait to check out book Two and three of this series
I really enjoyed reading this book. I fell in love with Kyrah. She’s so sweet and innocent. I like that she was vulnerable and honest with her feelings. She was a little bit wishy washy. She didn’t always make the best choices but she was real. She’s learning about love and heartbreak and I forgot how messy that can be at that age. Poor thing. She struggles to hold on to her relationship with God while dealing with temptation. I thought it was a realistic portrayal of what young girls go through when getting into relationships and deciding to have sex for the first time. I’m deeply invested in these characters now and will be reading the other books in this series ASAP.
My biggest thing was the peer pressure that was put on her when she stated that she wanted to wait until marriage. I hate when guys use the whole I love you just to get laid though. I can’t wait to finish the series. I have a few unanswered questions and theories about the guy she was in a relationship last because she was warned not to really get serious with him.
