I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
Will this book of puzzles improve my brain power in 90 days? Who knows? I wasn't thinking about that at all; instead I was having fun working on the puzzles!
I've always enjoyed logic puzzles, Sudoku, and number puzzles, and the puzzles in this book are well constructed and are graded from easy to hard. I especially loved getting to learn masyu, a puzzle I was unfamiliar with. Warning: It's harder than it looks!
I do plan to work my through the entire book. The puzzles are perfect for the beach or pool, airplane travel, and (my favorite) to work on while sipping my morning coffee.
Logic Puzzles Book for Brain Fitness is a well rounded assortment of 90 logic puzzles, sudoku, number sudoku, battleship, and others collected and curated by Lana Barnes. Due out 30th July 2024 from Penguin Random House on their Zeitgeist imprint, it's 240 pages and will be available in paperback format.
This is set up as daily exercises, one per day for 90 days, along with a chapter of bonus puzzles to round out the numbers to 108. The puzzles are varied and most are easy to moderate difficulty. The author/publisher have included a complete answer key in the back of the book.
The puzzles are set up with the puzzle info on one page and a solving grid on the opposite page (for the logic puzzles). The typeset is easy to read, large print, and high contrast.
Five stars. Does precisely what it claims. Readers know what to expect and this is precisely that. This would make a good selection for travel reading, vacation, and gift giving. Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
These logic puzzles are fun and there is a good variety. The easy ones are good to start off warming up the brain and the more difficult ones definitely pose a challenge. I love logic puzzles and even I had some trouble with some of them. I also appreciated the variety of puzzles, with some I hadn't even encountered before.
I really really appreciate the larger font used here. I'm forever enlarging the text on ebooks and I was so happy to be able to see everything clearly even without that. Also the larger boxes for filling in answers.
I have been really enjoying working through these puzzles and will continue to do so.
*Thanks to Zeitgeist for providing an early copy for review.
This book is perfect for those who love logic puzzles! It’s set up for 90 days of increasing difficulty - 30 days of easy, medium and challenging puzzles. The grids are nice and roomy. I also like that this book includes a variety of other logic puzzles besides the traditional word / grid puzzles. Some of the others are number-based like sudoku or visual like battleship. You can work these through in order or go through them as suits your mood. Great for 90 days of mental play…or less if you’re like me and can’t resist doing more than one a day. Will it make you sharper? Who knows? I’m just enjoying myself with these puzzles.
As I am growing older, I have a new appreciation for how important it is for my body and mind to be working properly because it makes life so much easier. So, it’s important to take a little time for exercise and that means not just for the body but to exercise my brain as well. Reading and practicing retaining information and as well as various puzzles from word search, crossword, and soduko. This book intrigued me when reading about it so I couldn’t wait to try it. This book is set up as a 90-day challenge and is progressive from front to back. Chapter one is filled with puzzles that are easy. Chapter two is filled with medium level and chapter 3 is filled with harder puzzles. There is also a chapter filled with bonus puzzles and there is a key in the back if I stumble and can’t figure one out. There are six types of logic puzzles, including logic grid puzzles, sudoku, calcudoku, battleship, kakuro, and masyu. I have had a lot of fun so far and am only ten days into the book. I find the puzzles thought provoking and challenging which is good. I haven’t gotten stuck yet, but some parts have made me think a little to come up with the right answer. I can’t wait to do them each night a little before I go to bed and can’t wait to see what each new challenging puzzle brings.
Thoughts: I love puzzle books. Unfortunately, the publisher sent me this one as an ebook – and it definitely does not work as an ebook. I strongly suggest you buy this book – but as a paperback one and not as a download.
Now, that being said, the few puzzles I was actually able to do were fun and well done. There are levels from easy to medium to hard with an extra section that is a mix. And, yes, there are answer keys at the back of the book. The puzzles include logic grids (for logic and reasoning), sudoku (numbers), Calcudoku (numbers and problem solving), Battleship (logical deduction, reasoning, spacial deduction), Kakuro (methodical thinking), and Masyu (visual intelligence).
Highly recommended.

Thank you NetGalley and Zeitgeist for this advanced uncorrected proof copy for a honest review.
This is a great collection of logic puzzles split into 4 sections: Easy, Intermediate, Hard and a Bonus Section. They include 8 types of puzzle Logic grid, Sudoku, Calcudoku, Battle ship, Kakuro and Masyu.
Initially, in the first section, I thought the puzzles were too easy. However they skill up over the pages, and do become quite challenging. I particularly enjoyed the Battleship and Calcudoku puzzles, and would have loved more of these type of puzzles throughout the pages.
To complete the puzzles I did need to screenshot them and paste them onto Samsung Notes on my tablet.
Overall a good collection of puzzles, the directions on how to solve each puzzle type was clear and easy to follow.
There are six different types of puzzles included in this title. Logic grids puzzles, sudoku, calcudoku, battleship, kakuro, and Masyu. The setup of the book was nice, there are three sections, 30 days of easy puzzles, 30 days of medium puzzles, and 30 days of hard puzzles. At the end there is a bonus section with a mix of difficulties. This makes it easy to choose your skill level.
Each puzzle type has instructions that are easy to read and follow if there is a puzzle that you are not familiar with.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Zeitgeist for this title in exchange for my very honest review.

I really enjoyed this book and the variety of puzzles it offered. I think my favorite was the version of Battleship. Some of the puzzles seemed like there were too many of one kind, and not enough of others. I definitely learned some new games. The puzzles get harder as you progress through the book. I like that they are enlarged print for those of us needing glasses. Great for beside the bed or in the bathroom.
My only critique is too many logic grid puzzles and not enough Battleship. lol
I love logic puzzles and this book was so fun. With six different types of puzzles for each day creating a 90 day challenge for you to enjoy. I learned to enjoy new puzzles including luckily and logic grid puzzles. Pages are clear and easy to understand. It also includes guides to help you understand how to do each kind of puzzle. The text is very clear and easy to read, which is great for me. This makes the perfect gift for all puzzle lovers.
The Logic Puzzles in this book are great for brain fitness. They start easy and get harder and harder. They combine classic logic puzzles and sudoku puzzles. As they get harder, the types of puzzles get harder as well. I love to do logic puzzles and found this to be a great activity when I need a break. I could work on my brain fitness and they were not so hard that it took much time. They are great and I highly recommend them. I will be purchasing a copy for my mother to use as well.
A 90-day challenge for your brain. I have always loved logic puzzles. There are six types of logic puzzles in this book. It is a great way to better your brain power. Fun challenging logic puzzle book. Perfect gift for the person you aren't sure what to get. I like how they get steadily more difficult as you progress through the book. Unfortunately I only had an ebook copy of this so it was a bit fiddly to do on the iPad, a physical copy is a must. I'm a big sudoku fan so this was a nice change to bring different puzzles into the mix.
This book is great for those who love logic puzzles. Some are a bit hard to understand, but once you get the hang of it you get better.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you NetGalley and Lana Barnes for this opportunity!
Super fun activity book to do to help yourself relax or pass the time. Book features a variety of puzzles that vary in difficulty. Not sure if this will help with brain fitness over 90 days. I can't see why it wouldn't, since the puzzles stimulate your brain and give you break from electronics. Many thanks for the free/gifted book @penguinrandomhouse #partner #sponsored

I love logic puzzles and often spend time doing Sudoku or watching Cracking the Cryptic on YouTube. These logic puzzles ranged from fun and relaxing to challenging. I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good puzzle.
A good book to exercise your brain and if your brain is anything like mine, it will need a lot of stretching!! Thank you to NetGalley for letting me read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Quite interesting. If you are someone who enjoys puzzles of different varieties, then this book is really fun. It has different difficulty levels as well. Time well spent!
