Kenna is searching for evidence to prove what she knows to be true about a high-profile FBI Special Agent. She wants to clear Ramon’s name and restore his reputation, but Ramon seems determined to go his own way. When a trip to the bank turns dangerous, she loses an ally and gains another piece of the puzzle. But what does it mean?
A dark history.
Working the case takes Kenna and Jax on an undercover assignment, posing as husband and wife at a fancy Arizona resort. The sparks between them intensify, but romance doesn’t solve cases. Kenna has to figure out how to not ruin his career at the same time they’re fighting their growing feelings for each other. All while bullets fly, dead men keep showing up, everyone seems to have their own agenda…and the truth goes deeper than anyone imagined.
Her brand of justice will unearth a conspiracy that must be stopped.

Wow. Just wow. Kenna and Jax is still hotter than the summer heat. Dead to Rights is an absolute awesome story with the mystery and suspense. There’s even chuckles with the Kenna and Jax banter. Totally an awesome read for a summer day.
I received an advanced reader’s copy from the author and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

My thoughts: 📱9% 59:52 Chapter 5 - This is unexpected and good! I'm not even mad that I'm starting near the end of the series, I will be revisiting this story tonight. 📱33% 3:40:08 Chapter 14 - I'm very confused about the mission, some things aren't adding up so I'm switching to the ebook and starting over. 🔖Page 23 of 362 Chapter Three- I would have never found this place I cannot believe this is how it is spelled. I'm still a little confused about minor information, but I refuse to start at the beginning of the series. 🔖 212 Chapter Twenty-Four - I don't know if my mood has just changed after reading Connelly and Grisham but this book is just not as the first time around. I made a lot more allowances for the cheesy dialogue and sporadic plot, but now it's past old and I want it to be over. The print version has fewer Inconsistencies than the audio version.
This story was all over the place, I felt like it should have been 4 stars but the plot was very confusing. I think it would have been better if I had started with book 1. The audio wasn't as good as the ebook but I don't know which one was the latest edit
Books Says - Maizie said, “I found something deep in Noelle’s social media accounts, going back to when she was in college. She had a boyfriend who was in the army. Oh…they got married. He was listed as killed in action two weeks before she turned nineteen.” Audiobook Says - Maizie said, “I found something deep in Noelle’s social media accounts, going back to when she was in college. She had a boyfriend who was in the army. Oh…they got married. He was listed as killed in action two weeks before she turned nineteen. They were engaged ”
Recommend to others: I'm not sure. I could see many loving it, but it wasn't plausible enough for me.
Brand of Justice 1. Cold Dead Night (2022) 2. Burn the Dawn (2022) 3. Quick and Dead (2023) 4. Over the Limit (2023) 5. Skin and Bone (2023) 6. Dust and Ashes (2023) 7. Long Road Home (2024) 8. Dead to Rights (2024) 9. Fear No Evil (2024)
Lisa Phillips nailed the suspense-filled read, Dead To Rights, on the head. What an adventurous journey filled with lies, half-truths, full-truths and faith built on absolute trust in God’s divine plan. Kenna Banbury has unknowingly walked into a trap, twice, and ends up being held for questioning as the book opens. Her boyfriend, FBI agent Oliver Jaxon, rescues her from the police station before returning to California. Yet, the tables have turned enabling Kenna and Jax to work side by side solving kidnapping, murder, and mayhem. Step by step and clue by clue, Kenna and Jax put the pieces of the puzzle together in solving this case – a case that may clear the name and reputation of a former FBI agent. The former agent known as Ramon, seeks to clear his name and reputation, although he isn’t sure that the trail is clear enough to return to his former life. As Jax and Kenna work to solve this case and bring Celeste and Walker to justice, Ramon aids them on the outside of the case. As they seek to tie the clues together, danger resides as evil is implanted within agencies that are supposed to serve truthfully, honorably, and trustfully. As this book closes, it is evident that both Jax and Kenna care for Maisie as if she was their daughter. Essentially, it is also proven that Maisie also chooses to care for them as family and protect them as she sees fit. As the story winds down, Kenna and Jax both see the future right before them – even if there are a few steps that must be taken before the time is essentially right for them. Through all the danger, love and caring for one another is the essence of what brought them a step closer to the tomorrows that they seek. In the end, I give this book 5 out of 5 stars due to Phillips’ clear story-telling, love without fear vision, and dreams of a God-filled future.
Awesome read. This is a series I wasn't sure about, but it has only gotten better with each book. There hasn't been a lot of romance in the series, though this book had more than the others since Kenna's FBI boyfriend and she were undercover as a married couple.
A lot happened in this book. And I mean a lot. Plenty of suspense, some surprises, and nothing went like it should for a lot of the book.
Something I like about a series like this, where it is the same main character or characters throughout the whole series is there is so much time for character development and relationship development. Kenna, Jax, Maizie, and the relationships between the three of them. And even Ramon.
I loved the book, and was hoping to finish it before bedtime. And I did. Now I can't wait for the next one :)
Another great book in the series - especially because there was so much Kenna and Jax (always a plus as these two build their relationship). The case was a good one that's been building over a couple of books, so it was good to see how things played out, even if I found the way things were ended with the main case a bit abrupt. There were a few minor inconsistencies that pulled me out of the story, which has happened a few times in this series (mostly in the last couple of books). In this book cousins were referred to as brothers a couple times, and ASAC and SAC seemed to be used interchangeably even though those are separate roles at the FBI (and the ASAC/SAC abbreviations were never used, which I found strange as they'd definitely be used to shorten the titles in real life). But on the whole, I still found it a very enjoyable read.
I’m really getting into this series now. It took a while because the lead of this Christian mystery series didn’t even consider herself a Christian in the beginning. Since she embraced her faith, she’s become a little softer, a little more tolerable. Still the tough female lead that’s all the rage these days, but now she has heart.
Once again, old characters and new collide as Kenna investigates her latest mystery, and the undercover element was handled very well. What could have been a tired trope was turned on its head for a refreshing change.
The mystery in this installment advanced the over-arching plot of the series and came to a satisfying close, but it was the character growth that most interested me. It was nice seeing Kenna and Jax spend more time together and learning more about his family life. Eagerly moving on to the next installment.
Dead to Rights pulled me straight into the story from the first page and didn't let me go until I reached the end. This is a fast-paced thriller as Kenna and Jackson go undercover to stop a serial killer and corruption and bring down a dirty FBI agent. I enjoyed the growing progress in not only Jax and Kenna's relationship but also in Kenna's relationship with the Lord as a new believer. This thriller has twists and turns, family secrets, surprises, characters from past Brand of Justice novels who appear in this novel, and more. You don't want to miss out on Kenna's newest adventure. I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Another fantastic installment in Lisa Phillips Brand of Justice series!
I've been reading Lisa Phillips books for a good while now and have followed Kenna Banbury from the beginning, each book in the series just builds and gets even better!
Plenty of twists and turns, adventure, mystery, faith and relationship building
Kenna is one of my favorite heroines and I can't wait to see what's next!
Make sure you add this one to the top of your TBR asap 😉
I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author, the opinions expressed here are my own
This series gets better with each book! Lisa Phillips found the magic combination when she decided to put Kenna and Jax together! Dead to Rights gives us a glimpse into how far Kenna has come in her spiritual life and how she is beginning to trust people too. Especially as she opens up to Jax. I love this couple! Not only is the relationship part of this book awesome, but Lisa keeps you guessing when it comes to Kenna’s cases. You never know who from her past is going to be lurking around the next corner! Can’t wait for the next book!
I love this series, but it always cracks me up how many people are getting shot dead, with dead aim, through walls or windows. Like, there goes another one. How the shooter can tell exactly, in a room full of people, that one person is the target, through a wall. however, this series is very entertaining, and I love the characters. I also love the nice slow pace of the relationship between Jax and Kenna.

Crime families cannot win against Kenna and her team.
Very good read. Kenna& Jax are certainly over their head in this story. Trying to figure out who's good and and who's not takes up most other time. Most of the time is spent trying to keep people alive as the team sorts through the possibilities. Can they trust the local police when they believe this goes all the way to the top.
This is a fantastic series (The books need to be read in order). I really like how the lead character, Kenna, is growing and maturing as a person. Part of the reason this book is special is because the romance element kicks up a notch while still being a slow boil that doesn’t steal the show from the suspense.
Another great book by Lisa Phillips. Enjoying the Brand of Justice series. I really love the growth of the main characters. Despite what could be devastating trauma they hold on to hope and continue to grow. Love watching the lead character's growing Christianity. Also enjoy the action and intrigue I have come to expect from a Lisa Phillips novel.
This is an intense and exciting series. I have not been able to stop and have been reading straight through the entire series. Intense characters and plot, lots of action, intrigue and mystery. Well worth the time but you won’t be able to put them down.
I received an early copy of this book. What a great read the suspense will keep you up late into the night guessing what will happen next. Lisa is one of my favorite authors. I highly recommended reading her books
kenna is still looking for the fbi agent that set ramon up but it seems that she has more influence then they thought. this is a page turning story that you will not be able to put down very good looking forword to the next book if you like suspense you will want to read the book
This is another thriller in this amazing series. I really liked the romance between Kenna & Jax getting closer. The way they were able to take down a whole evil powerful family was awesome! One of the most important aspects to me is Kenna's closer dependence on God!
What a series! I can't hardly put it down, been staying up till 12:30 to keep reading. Don't miss out reading this series. Wonderful characters, suspense, intriguing. Everything you want in a good mystery. Can't wait for book 9.
Jax and Kenna along with Maise make a great team. I would have been a woozy britches and hid out away from all the take downs and stake outs. These two with Maise on the radio etc. There is no way anyone is getting away fro them
Jax and Kenna together fighting for justice. Definitely a great novel highlighting the danger of seeking good and routing out evil. Follow them, read this book, but here’s a warning…You’ll definitely be staying up past your planned bedtime!
This was such a good story. It has all the suspense and character growth and a lot of tension. I liked that they took care of a case that has been on going over several books. Can't wait to read the next one.
This series is one great book after another. Can’t wait until I can start the next book. I would recommend this to anyone who loves adventure, excitement and love. God provides all of these in our lives and it is nice to read about it in someone else’s books.
Absolutely brilliant….what more can I say..Kenna and Jax are together on a case. Not only a serial killer but also getting relevant info on another colleague. Excitement all the way. Fabulous read..
I don't know how Jenna could do all she has. Love reading about her and Jax worked this case together. But I was sorry that Ozzy was taken away even though it was by someone he knew and loved.
Full of action and plot twists... Wonder characters. Love the series.... Hope that it continues for awhile... Kenna, Maize, Jax, Stairns are great characters.
