This is my favourite diet/health/nutrition book ever- it’s bright and cheery with lots of pictures, recipes, tips, and sensible information organized in an easily accessible way by reputable doctors. One of the most interesting chapters investigates popular diets such as the Adkins diet and Weight watchers to see if they are safe, healthy and what beneficial techniques they incorporate while other sections look at specific fruits and vegetables, eating habits for children, weight-loss strategies, and other information that you should know from a user’s guide to your body.
Covers the basics of nutrition for every age, supplements, some health issues, pros and cons of numerous diet plans. Not an in depth book of knowledge, but does cover the basics.
I found this book to be very helpful in presenting a balanced point of view on healthy living. In a world of extreme diets and an obsession with exercise, these authors offer a position of balance that embraces healthy eating habits, an active lifestyle and manageable change...in other words, a practical approach to healthy living that works for everyday people. Whether you are trying to lose weight, improve your health habits or better understand the choices you make, this book has a wealth of information that is presented in a logical and understandable way.
A clear, easy to read guide to health and nutrition. Gives some healthy recipes, discusses common health problems and ways that you can use food to prevent/treat them, and reviews some of the most popular diets.
