I've been waiting to read this book for quite a while now. Not because I wasn't excited about it, but because I was. So, I put it on my list of books-I-know-will-be-great for vacation.

I was immediately sucked in by the story. It's told in the heroine's POV, and I really loved Anna's voice. She was snarky and real.

Our hero and heroine meet, and there's an instant connection. I don't mind the whole love/lust at first sight. TBH, it's one of the things I love about reading romance. And holy hell, sparks fly between these two.

Our hero, Alec: he's hot as fuck, y'all. With a filthy mouth and a big... Well, you get my point. In other words: I LOVED HIM. He reminded me of Edward Cullen. (If Edward Cullen was a dirty talker with exceptional pussy-licking skills.) He was possessive, protective, secretive. And if you know me at all, you know I didn't mind the similarity one bit.

This story had a lot of suspense. Alec was hiding something, and he was clearly involved in something shady. Anna had a past that prevented her from trusting right away. There was a lot of push and pull. And I loved every second of it.

It was addictive.

No, it was like erotic book crack for readers.

Must read, y'all! Buy it, and thank me for telling you to later.

Anna is a masseuse and she loves her job. She does private sessions for extra money. Before you think it, no the Hero isn’t a client, but when she shows up for the latest private session, she runs into Alec, her client’s right hand man.

Alec is mysterious, tall, and very sexy. Anna doesn’t know if she should stay away from Alec or run in to him more.

I like the idea and storyline of The Masseuse. There’s Anna, she’s a pretty typical Heroine and I like it. I like that she’s kind of poor, she works hard and she likes what she does. I also like she goes to people’s houses for private sessions because you just never know who you are going to get.

Anna shows up to her latest client’s appointment and she kind of walks in on him and another girl having sex. Anna freaks out and tries to hide, but she ends up trapping herself in an office. Alec runs into Anna and helps her out of the sticky situation.

Totally funny right?

I like Alec. I like that we don’t know much about him, other than he does odd jobs for his boss. I didn’t really think too much of what Alec does because I was more focused on the Anna and Alec storyline. I like the banter between Alec and Anna and I was fine with the insta-lust. It is an erotica novel.

The Masseuse does have some layers and there’s more to it than what you think. I was kind of surprised by this storyline, but I went with it.

Overall, it was a decent read with very steamy scenes. I do think it needed to be polished a bit. I kind of want the author to develop Anna and Alec a bit more in the next book. I felt like The Masseuse was kind of like the appetizer, a little taste of what’s to come, but I’m ready for the main course. Give me some meat!

I must confess that, at first glance, I dismissed THE MASSEUSE because it seemed like it would be a tawdry cheap thrill. Masseuses have that sort of reputation, right?

What can I say? I'm an idiot.

In The Masseuse, Anna Rossi's services are needed at rich sleaze ball Maxim Stein's home. While there, she gets lost and has a run-in with his bodyguard, the mysterious Alec Flynn. That brief meeting stays with Anna, as does their magnetic connection, and after a few chance meetings, Anna and Alec begin a hot affair. The burden of confession doesn't fall evenly though, as Anna shares her heart, body and all her dirty little secrets with Alec, and he shares almost nothing. The lack of balance causes problems, least of which is mistrust on Anna's side. And, the worst of which is that someone seems to be gunning for Anna now, and she has no idea why.

So yeah. I'm a dumbass. I had no idea this book had so much depth and suspense and intrigue locked within its pages. Yes - Anna is a masseuse. But, truthfully, that fact is not a major part of the story. I was very quickly - almost immediately, actually - caught up in Alec's secrets and lies and the near impossible task of discerning whether his apparent feelings for Anna were real. Anna's profession became almost an extraneous detail.

Alec was my favorite part of The Masseuse. He was frustrating and infuriating and completely wonderful. There is a lot more to him than what meets the eye. In the beginning, he appears so aloof and uncaring. Like he's chasing after Anna just because he thinks she's hot. As in all the best stories, it may start out that way, but once they have some shared near death experiences, some ridiculously hot sex and some deep pillow talk, real feelings develop.

And, that's when things get really messy. Anna falls hard and fast and has to come to a decision about Alec's lack of full disclosure. He allows her in just a bit, and she's so desperate for that connection with him, she clings to those details he offers up and uses them to justify his continued presence in her life. Except, there comes a time when even that isn't enough for her. And, that time comes when it appears he's cheating on her.

Alec and Anna's relationship is passionate and intense. Their chemistry was wicked awesome, and something I could read about every day. The Masseuse is told entirely from Anna's POV, which is kind of a bummer. I mean, I get why - all of Alec's secrets would've come out so much sooner if we had his voice in the book as well as Anna's. But, this is one instance where I would love an eventual companion novel to showcase what's going on in that beautiful head of his.

There's a lot going on in The Masseuse. All the lines get blurred, and no one is sure who to trust. But, the one thing you are sure of by the end is that Alec and Anna love each other, and although things end a little on the hairy side, you feel good that they will come out of it all on top. Of course, this is only book one in a trilogy, so on the other hand, there's still plenty of time for one or both of them to screw things up. Thank goodness.

This book was just amazing I enjoyed reading about this sexy romance between these two strangers. This book kept me guessing & I enjoyed every min of this book from the beginning to the end. can't wait to read part 2!

He was sexy in an I-don’t-give-a-fuck kind of way.
I was unable to look away from his mouth, curved in a teasing smirk, or from his full lower lip that I had the sudden urge to bite. I could imagine that mouth pressed against my shoulder, following the line of my collar and then lowering. Just the thought of it made my breath catch.

He wasn’t wearing his sunglasses now. His eyes were dark blue like the bay, and just as intense as I’d imagined. I was pinned to the spot by his gaze, cheeks heating from being caught, skin growing damp from the hard look of his body. My eyes dropped to the open collar of his white dress shirt. The lines of his throat collided with a swell of muscle that disappeared beneath the pressed fabric. Just the top of his collarbone was revealed, and my fingers itched to trace it, to spread his shirt open so I could see what would surely be the impressive physique beneath.

Then, as if I’d conjured him with my thoughts, I found myself face-to-face with the very man I’d been lusting over since my arrival.
“I should have pegged you as someone who liked to watch,” he said, that smooth voice rich with sensuality.

“You think I could ignore you when I feel this way?” His hand moved faster, still not inside me, but with enough friction to bring me right to the edge. “You think I could touch another woman?”

He drew back, licking my opposite inner thigh. Every time he got closer he backed away.
Payback. So this is what he meant.
“Please.” I would have gotten on my knees and begged if he wasn’t already there.

He shifted, and I nearly groaned from the friction.
“It makes you hot, doesn’t it? Listening to other people fuck.”
The way he said it brought an intense ache between my thighs.
“I . . .” I couldn’t admit the truth, could I? I’d never been in a situation like this before.

There was nothing quite as perfect as a good friend, brownies, and male strippers to close a crazy day.

This was more than your wham-bam-thank you ma'am. It was suspenseful and all the hot romance rolled into one. New love is always challenging.

I'm always a little leery when it comes to discount books at BN. Most of the time they have books that are cringe worthy and other times they have some of my favorites. This being a couple bucks you say what the hell! This was actually a good book. Nothing over the top and I actually enjoyed this one. Even though the sex was a little passé.

Anna is a masseuse, is great at what she does and it highly recommended to top clients on the area. When the rich silver fox Maxim Stein comes calling she goes running, but without doing a little research of her own.

On the way to her new clients house she spots a gorgeous man and he comes up to her car just to tease her. The attraction is instant and she thinks her chance is over from seeing him again. Her luck just keeps getting better and she finds the handsome Alec is actually the one of many bodyguards for her next client.

Whenever she goes anywhere he randomly shows up. At the coffeehouse or the salon where she works. But there is something off about this mysterious bodyguard and Anna is intrigued. Enough so to where it leaves her vulnerable to his half truths.

Just as things heat up for Anna and Alec, his mysteriousness leaves her heartbroken and at odds. Is she just a quick lay for him or does he feel the something more too?

Lust can be an awful mistress if you aren't careful. Instead of testing the waters, things go from a hello to full throttle. Step back and breathe a second.

This almost had a higher rating. I just can't handle all the exactness from a lot of these romance stories. The girl is always curvy, the man is always well endowed and things always wrap up neatly. I need a different ending.

It kept my interest even though I rolled my eyes at times. It's my go to thing. Plus I'm a pro... ask my husband.
Maybe I should have a badge that says Eye Rolling Professional.....

This book grabbed me from the very beginning. It’s one of those books that you know you’ll love the minute you meet the first character. Anna was that character. To say she is one of my favorite female MC’s would be an understatement. I LOVE her, she made me want to continue every part of this book. Of course when I met Alec he had something to do with that too. But he was the mystery in this story and I loved the weird intrigue that surrounded him. This book has so many interesting things going on, and the fact that it’s hotter than hot does not go unnoticed! I was shocked that this was Sierra Kincade’s debut novel, her writing is beautiful, seasoned, witty and sexy as hell, and I just want everyone to read this book!

When I first started reading this book I was talking about it almost immediately to my friends. Everyone wanted to know who the Masseuse was. The Masseuse is Anna Rossi. She’s very talented in her craft, which is why she gets a job for the elusive billionaire Maxim Stein. What Anna isn’t prepared for is the awkward and somewhat hot position she’s thrown into when she meets Maxim’s hot security guy Alec. And not only is Alec hot, he’s also broody and mysterious and so obviously unavailable emotionally. Does this matter to Anna? Of course! She has her own issues and doesn’t need Mister tall oozing sex guy falling for her. Which he won’t right? Ha! I love this stuff.

The best part for me is that this most definitely not insta-love. They have an obvious instant connection, but the story that you go through with these to is nice and sexy-slow. I couldn’t stop reading it! There are definitely some encounters that may seem fast, but oh lordy were they hot!! Alec isn’t your typical guy. He has a super soft side that made me melt and good lord can he talk dirty. Even Anna stepped up in that department. I love a strong woman who knows what she wants, and Anna definitely knows what she wants. Sexually at least. Emotionally, she’s a little guarded, but Alec slowly pulls her walls down and when they have these super chill moments together I just fell more in love with them.

Then we get to the crime/twisty elements of the story which had me on the edge of my seat, and for a lot of breaths I was holding in I thought something irreversible might happen. And does it? Mayyyybeee!! It was scary, and angsty and sweet and sexy, and EVERYTHING. I loved this book from beginning to end, and I truly became a fan of this series big time. Alec is such a man, and Anna isn’t your typical whiney heroine. Just the opposite actually.

The ending is not a cliffhanger, more like a “to be continued” and continue I will. I can’t wait to read book two, and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone and everyone who loves contemporary romance with a highly seductive flair and a crime-ish undertone. (and some super hot/dirty sex) Did I mention the dirty talk? Alec and Anna’s flirty banter and sarcastic/sweet comments were one of my favorite things about this book. I LOVE them, and I hope you all will too. In fact, I know you will!

"Favorite Quotes"

“Can’t focus. Can barely breathe. That’s how I feel all the time now.”

“What happens when this burns out?” I asked. He tapped his spoon on the white linen tablecloth, gaze never wavering from mine. “What happens if it doesn’t?”

This book was a bit boring for me. I like powerful books, books that women don't crumble under men commands. I like a book where the women is strong and can live without a man.

I was excited to read this book – I had not read a true erotic book in a while and I liked the idea of the hero not being the billionaire, but the billionaire’s “body man.” A body man I learned is like a bodyguard, but he also does other stuff billionaires need done. In this case, sometimes this stuff isn’t exactly legal.

The Masseuse is the first in a trilogy – don’t freak out – it doesn’t end in a huge cliffhanger and I guess I’d say there is a pretty solid HEA at the end. I was actually surprised so much wrapped up in this one. Overall I thought this was an okay book. It was a little clichéd. Alec and Anna both have secrets and a dark past. Alec has a big penis.

Oh, you want more information? Fine.

Anna is a masseuse hired by a very rich man named Maxim to rub all his muscles. You learn quickly that Maxim is sleazy and gross. Alec is his body man, a big, brooding guy who notices Anna quickly and wants her…badly. From his first visit:

His voice lowered. “When’s your next opening?”

“You don’t even know what I do,” I said suggestively. He wanted to play? Fine. Bring it on.

He kept running his first finger over the top of the window, making me wonder just what else those hands were capable of.

“You’re right,” he said. “But I bet it’s bad.” The growl in his voice sent a heated shiver through me. I rolled down the window another six inches.

“Why would you say that?” I licked my lips.

He leaned closer, like he was about to tell me a secret, and I scooted to the edge of my seat.

“You’re parked in a no-parking zone,” he whispered.

He kind of stalks her at first, which is the okay kind of romance book stalking – he always appears where she is. There is an actual real stalker that is in love with Anna too, that plays a part in this book. So we have hero stalking and creepy stalking. Oh romance.

Anna has a darker past and she can’t stay in one place. Florida is new to her, as her best friend who is recently divorced lives here. She wants to make enough money to travel home to visit her dad. Her mom died a few years ago and her dad is always lonely. Anna is kind of dating a doctor, but he is a sleazy and things are not going great. Alec is on her mind constantly and eventually these two stop dancing around each other and giving lusty stares and give in to their desires.

But, Alec has secrets. He keeps ditching dates with Anna for work, but what Anna discovers is that he is hanging out with a red-headed woman. (those damn red heads!) She gets jealous and thinks he is cheating and drama ensues. Dont’ worry, he isnt’ cheating – but he does have secret meetings and stuff. We only get Anna’s point of view so we don’t know what Alec and Maxim are up to, but you know it’s not good. It all ends in a flurry of suspense at the end. I was surprised it all got resolved – it felt a little rushed to me, or maybe I was expecting the Maxim stuff to carry forward to the next book

This book is definitely erotic, but a little predictable. Alec has a big penis that Anna is afraid won’t fit. We go without the condom quick,. Anna has about three orgasms each time. I mean – it was hot but I never felt the need to text Tori and say OMG this sex scene! And I love those texts.

Alec is very over protective with the “Mine” early and throughout. I like the fact Anna stands up to him, but there are other times she gets mad at him and instead of talking it out they sex it out. I don’t love a sex-it-out, orgasm cures all fight.

WIth a glance at Goodreads, I can see the next book still has Maxim fall out, so maybe the drama with him is not over yet. I’ll give it a try.

It took a little while for me to get in to this book, but once I did, I could not put it down! It was erotic, emotional and had more substance than I originally assumed it would.
Anna Rossi is the title character, a masseuse with a past she can’t seem to put behind her. She refuses to let anyone get close to her and leaves when she thinks she is in danger of getting hurt. Alec Flynn is the right hand to a wealthy man. When Anna and Alec meet, they rush headlong into whatever it is they feel growing between them. But Anna’s history and Alec’s lies threaten to tear these two people apart.
When I first began this book, I have to admit it…I didn’t have high expectations. Anna and Alec were so attracted to one another with just a simple glance, and seemed to be falling head over heels with one another when they didn’t know the first thing about the other person. Alec was standoffish and beyond the physical, I couldn’t see what the attraction was for either one. But as I read further and further into the book, I felt myself get dragged down into the sultry air of Florida and the emotions that flared between these two. Despite the secrets both were keeping, their connection was deep and heartfelt, and I found myself falling in love with this couple. Especially Alec.
The perfect example of not judging a book by it’s lick-able cover, Alec was more than just a handsome face and gorgeous body. The man beneath proved to be complex and surprising, very much like the story itself. Filled with intrigue, lies, secrets and enough sweaty sex that I felt like I needed a cold shower when I was done, The Masseuse was a smart and fantastic surprise.
My only dislike in the entire story was the end. No spoilers here, but I just was not satisfied, until I found that this was only the first book in a trilogy. So, I can forgive Ms. Kincaid for the ending, knowing that in a way it is only a beginning and I get to share my time with Alec and Anna again.

Paige

Based on what I read in the beginning of the book, I thought it was going to be a book about Alex and Anna’s sex life but was blown away by the twists and turns of the book. Their teasing and sexual tension was palpable. While I’m no prude and love reading sexy tales, I didn’t think some were un-necessary.
Both Alec and Anna had difficulty pasts. Despite both tragic pasts they had someone in their corner to help in the tough times. I was definitely anxious to see what skeletons they were hiding. What kept them from fully trusting each other.
I thought the author did a great job keeping the reader interested in the book. The suspense and drama was perfect throughout the book. It was definitely a page turner. I had to stay up past my bedtime to finish the book.
Looking forward to book 2.

I loved this, lots of action and amazing chemistry between the MCs.

I really enjoyed Alec and Anna, even if both of them made me crazy. Anna was strong, snarky & full of fire. She definitely had her issues, but even though she did let those issues take over a lot, she usually managed to snap herself out of it and kick some ass.

I loved how Alec loved Anna, how protective he was and how he really seemed to treasure her, but I have to side with Anna, there was way too much dissembling going on with him. Given that practically everything was so shady, it was completely unreasonable for him to expect Anna to trust him, just because of the connection they had.

The plot was exciting, though it did get a bit swallowed up in what was going on with Anna and Alec. The secondaries were well done. I laughed my ass off over meeting Anna's dad, loved Amy and Bobby was honestly creepy to me. I would have liked to have a few things more wrapped up but other than that I think this is a great start to a series.

I'm looking forward to The Distraction!

WOW! If the cover doesn’t do it for you, then the words inside sure will! This book was not the usual first in a trilogy and I am so glad it wasn’t! Everything I thought I would be left hanging on was answered so I will hopefully survive until the second book in the Body Work Trilogy releases. Maybe. I really want The Distraction, like now. Alec and Anna have immeasurable chemistry and I like them! Liking the main characters is a big deal for me. If I can’t relate or root for them then I find it hard to connect and really sink in and enjoy a story. I did not have this problem, at all, with The Masseuse. I was on the edge of my seat, fanning myself through most of this book. It is THAT hot! Sierra Kincade is a brilliantly talented author and I can’t wait to not only read the rest of this trilogy, but to see what she comes up with after this.

Damn, I didn't realize this was a serial! I hate trilogies. I can't promise to continue. Especially the middle book where every shred of love and trust from book 1 is torn to bits leaving our couple to flounder until book 3.

Still, I liked this very much. There were traces of humor that I enjoyed and the chemistry between our H/h was off the charts HOT. Alec was such an awesome Hero and a perfect match for feisty-as-hell Anna. There was only one or two instances when I thought the plot was a tad forced. Anyway, let's see what happens when book 2 comes out in a couple of weeks.

I went into this book excited and looking forward to reading it.  I cannot say that I finished it feeling happy and excited.  It was a struggle to even finish it.

I didn't hate it.  It just didn't work for me.  Why didn't it work?  I think the female MC was part of it.  I just didn't care for her all that much, her voice felt a too immature for my taste.  Anna and Alec had great chemistry but there was a lot of back and forth and mistrust between them and almost every time they had an argument, it turned into sex and then everything was better.  Magic sex!

I almost DNF'd this one but I kept trudging through hoping that the end would justify the means.  The ending is HFN (happy for now) and I think I'm ok with that, it is a trilogy after all.  I'm on the fence as to whether or not I want to read the next book.  There is another character- Anna's bff that I might want to read more about.  But reading the synopsis for the next two books, there is no mention of her storyline.  So, I'm not sure I would want to continue the series based on Alec and Anna alone.

Oh well.

Surprisingly, an addictive read... this isn't your typical rich guy meets virgin story which I appreciated. For the most part, I liked Anna (albeit a few dumb decisions but nothing too irritating) and Alec. Alec is a little rough around the edges and a bit too blunt for my tastes in the beginning of the story...so much so I almost quit reading. But, I continued on and I'm glad I did.

Warning: this story is hot. His first apology to her got my attention.

Anna is a masseuse living a life where she doesn't get too close to anyone. She moves often to escape any deep connections because she was abandoned as a child. Her adopted parents were good to her and only her dad is still living, who is a retired police officer. She is not some entitled rich kid, which I liked. She's ethical and her massages aren't sleazy (as the book cover might lead one to believe-actually I think the cover misleading as this book is also somewhat of a thriller and not just a sexy smut book).

Anna picks up a new client who is wealthy. While scouting out his home, prior to her appt, a security guy approaches her. Well, that's Alec. He's 6'3, built, and handsome. They feel chemistry right from the get go. In no time, the story gets hot & bothered.
The author does a good job of these scenes (compared to some other books I've read) with the exception of her insta-orgasm, lol. Oh brother.

Alec is tied up with some unethical people. Meeting Anna makes him want to be a better man. This is where the drama/thriller part ensues. Again, couldn't put this book down.

Overall, a pretty good read.

This book was pretty good... I mean, it would've been fine to be one book if the epilogue was longer. But noooo it had to be a trilogy. I wonder what's going to happen...

Anyway, this book was hot, funny, and sexy. Yes, the alpha male had alittle bit of issues and needed to turn it down a notch, and the female protagonist had to stand up for herself more, but whatever, atleast all of their problems were solved and now they have no more secrets (for now atleast).

I need the next one now. Like really.

The plot was really more, the relationship built between Alec and Anna. Not the fact that Anna is a masseuse, not the fact that Alec used to work with a top secret organization with his boss and then confronted him so now he is serving jail time, and definetly not the suspense this book had too. Just the sexual tension between Alec and Anna.

That's pretty much it. More info later.

Okay either people love this book or hate it..... why because either you belive in "Love at first site", that you can be "Destined to fine you're sole mate" and that "Sex fixes all" or you don't. Those that BELIEVE will love this book, those that don't will hate it.

4 solid stars! Why? Cause I don't give 5 stars to books unless they leave a everlasting mark on me.... and this one was good, but not anything new or life altering. That being said this was a freebie from the online library and they don't have the rest of the series.... I'm seriously, very seriously, considering buying the rest and I hardly ever buy a book cause that would get super expensive when I read about 3 books a week. But this one I just might........

Anna Rossi never knew her birth father and was mistreated by her druggie mother. She was adopted by the policeman who found her and his wife. She became a social worker, but found she could not help those who needed her help the most and then became a masseuse. She never stays in one place long, but eventually ends up in Florida, the home of her best friend Amy. Aside from working at a spay, she takes on private clients, which is how she ends up at the home of wealthy billionaire Maxim Stein. But it is his security man, Alec Flynn, that works his way into her life and heart. Danger and intrigue ensue. Could be read as a stand alone, but I want to know what happens next.

Wow.
This is my first time reading a book like this. Not only has my mind been blown, but I seriously have an entirely new appreciation for erotica. It didn’t lack in any area! From the very beginning, I was hooked. I love that the author made an unsuspecting hero! You would think it’s the millionaire, and not the body guard/security/all the great things Alec is.
I didn’t expect the book to have the ending that it did, and I think that’s what makes it unique. It wasn’t the fairytale happy ending.

This is the first book in this series of Anna and Alec. This is a cliffhanger, so be advised. Anna and Alec met at their boss' house. They wanted each other at first sight. Bad enough that Anna started dreaming of him between her legs. This book was full of suspense with a good storyline, characters, sexual tension and sex scenes. I just hate that it's a cliffhanger. This was a good reads.

HOT, HOT, HOT...with lots of twists!

These hot lovers are my favorite now! What a delicious read this was! This book is NOT for those easily offended or embarrassed because it was very descriptive. I can not wait to begin the next in the series...right now!

Alec was so mysterious that I just couldn’t help not being totally drawn to him, and Anna is a total bad ass chick! Loved the story, loved the drama and loved the chemistry! Now going to read book 2!
