Well, it reads like an extended interview, although without questions on the page. It is clear that she is obviously responding to questions from the author. So it makes for a very monotone type of read. “I went here, I did this , I had a friend” etc. etc. She did manage to share the story of her experience with the US organization, which turned into an absolute nightmare for her, which put her into a years long trauma spiral. Thankfully, she is still on her healing journey, and I can’t even fathom how one can soldier through something so toxic and torturous.

Deborah Jones, is a courageous survivor and major props to her for sharing her story. Her ordeal has been hanging over the US organization and by extension Kwanzaa for five plus decades. There are many who refuse to embrace Kwanzaa because they heard about, “the sisters being tortured” well Deborah Jones is one of those Sisters and this story is now in print and available to anyone who wants to go beyond the rumors and innuendo and has always wanted the information from “the sisters”, well here it is!
