We all know I don't read to further my intellect so when someone says read this book it has an Alpha male in it. I'm jumping in balls deep. Caleb good god he could be the Captain to my vagina any day of the week. Now I'm new to Ms. Silver and her writing, but if she is going for making the whore in me blush she exceeded and then some. There was so much sex in such a short book that by the time I read "The End" my vagina felt like it was the one getting the workout. There were parts I had to read then reread then fucking Google just to cure my water balloon ass play curiosity.
SO here is my warning.. If you are against being fed a 9 and half inch cock or said cock having a mind of his own - this is not the book for you. If you can't seem to think outside of the sex box and only like missionary while having a boob groped - this is not the book for you. If you like a hot Alpha male who will only drop his load into you when he is sure he can "breed you" and if you believe the dick don't lie then this is your book. You let that all sink in and I'm going to go get my next JS book and unleash my inner breeding bitch..

I love, and I mean really love stories that are mainly from the Male POV! Especially when that Male makes it ever so clear what his feelings are!
Caleb McNamara knows what he wants, his dick knows what it wants (I for some reason love a man who talks to his own dick and gives it a little voice and mind of its own! If I had one, you can bet I would do the same!)
As with most Jordan Silver Male characters, he is ott bossy, sexy possessive and alpha to the extreme!
He will be in control, will not take any crap, and will spank your ass if you get out of line! **sigh**
It was beautiful how much he wanted to boost Melissa's self esteem, and he truly believed he was the lucky one to have found her, and it was never the other way around!

I have not blushed and fanned myself so much while reading a book.
This one was beyond hot. You need a new word for it, okay?
Caleb "Captin" McNamara is what any woman worth her salt wants in a man. Yes, he was the very definition of OTT Alpha Male. Set in his ways, beyond possessive. But also, endearing, caring, gentle, passionate & giving. He's hilarious as all get out. And this man took protective of his mate & all things he holds dear, to another level. I loved watching how it all unfolds.
You get both Caleb & Melissa's POV's here, but you do get more of Caleb's POV. I've been loving the male POV more in books lately, and I love it's placement here as well.
This was a very sexy, erotic, passionate & engaging read. I really enjoyed it and I would definitely recommend it. Please don't let the cover turn you away from this one. It's a good read.

Caleb McNamara is the kind of alpha male you may secretly dream about.
For Melissa, this piece's heroine, Caleb is a dream come true, one that she can't truly believe in until he shows her time and time again that he really wants her.
Caleb has a case of insta-lust and insta-possession when he sees Melissa, a woman who is shy because she is insecure about her weight and hasn't had much luck with romance or relationships.
The raunchy sexcapades initiated and well played/narrated by Caleb are panty-tingling.
The unfortunate thing is that I can't go beyond three stars with this one due to some implausible circumstances and some rather rough writing. For example, with the writing part, there's some discrepancies in time periods and changes in tense so that there's confusion about whether it is "last night", "now" or some days later. Editing and proofreading are needed, along with a bit more about characters' features and development/depth, IMO.
I recommend this as a quick and delicious I♥ALPHA read for those who want a some hotness, a little dirty-dirty and a sugar-sweet love story.

Finished it... barely. Alpha male was overboard and didn't feel like a guy at all. You just knew that a female was struggling to write a Man's POV. 2 stars for the message of loving yourself and working hard to get what you want.

I didn't finish this. I read to about 14% and returned it. There is pretty much no punctuation, except for the random period. It needs commas. Lots of commas. Melissa needs a spine. And Caleb needs to not talk about his penis like it's a separate person. Caleb also comes on very strong. I would be thinking twice, if I were Melissa.

Hot,sexy,dirty talking,alpha to the bone, super possessive hunk of a military man.Can I say "yes Captain" now! That is the hero in this book to a tee! and boy does he love his BBW from the top of her head right down to her toes.There were some extremely hot sex scenes,for a while,thought that I was reading me some porn lol! I took out a ruler to measure 11.5 inches!

Melissa is an overweight woman with a dysfunctional family. She owns her own flower shop after her gran left her a small inheritance. She has a lot of negative people in her life that have destroyed her self esteem about her appearance. I think anyone with a weight problem has felt what she has felt the way she did. I love how the author wrote Caleb as a no nonsense kind of guy where Mel's weight was concerned.
It's the first book where the Hero seemed authentic about his feelings on the subject. The book reads like a love at first sight and a woman learning to love herself as she is. While all that is lovely and grand it still felt like something was off somehow. You get Caleb's perspective and you hear Melissa's but most of the book is just that. It was like a diary overseeing events and while at times I liked hearing Caleb recap I missed seeing different characters interacting. You know those guys that brag about how tough they are that's how Caleb felt and I think had we got to see first hand a dialogue more often it may have helped.
The joy of an alpha male is to see how he responds when around different personalities for me. We do see some here and there but I wanted more excitement of watching Caleb confronting a rival. That said he does confront those negative people I spoke of earlier but it felt unnatural. The reason is because nothing else was in Mel's life day to day except Caleb. It was like they were learning about each other and then this past jerk/friend would appear and Caleb went from 0 to explosive in seconds.
There could have been less sex and more of the needed side conversations. I also felt weird about this overlord vibe coming from Caleb such as his reference to her getting pregnant. Instead of saying he wanted her with his child it was I want her breeding. In the big fight of the book where Caleb forces Melissa to address her poor self image he tells her something along the lines of her being careless with his seed. It felt like some kind of secret code from a cult.
I respected the point he was making but so disappointed at the delivery. She had enough people who tore down on her confidence coming as cold and unfeeling as he did seemed wrong. She needed a firm hand to get through but in a language with more normalcy. Lastly, there are grammar issues along with misspelled words throughout. I still applaud the author in the effort to put together an original story and my opinions are just my experience and you may see it different. Enjoy!

Ok So this is my is my first trip down Jordan Silver Lane. Let's just say that I'm addicted and will be quickly consuming as man as I can. Consuming, imbibing, snorting, injecting..any way I can because that is what I felt like when I read this book. It was like something that I wanted to run away from but at the same time wanted to stay forever.
Is this a epic emotional or tragic love story? NO~!!!

I suspect that if I looked up "Mary Sue" on the dictionary, it would say "see The Soldier's Lady". This is really wishful thinking or daydreaming. (I guess every romance in a way is, but it usually comes with a different package, and maybe some sort of believability. Uhm.. or maybe not. I'm thinking about the Halequins...)
I don't begrudge the author the fantasy, who wouldn't like a guy who's always there, always ready to help, who's always on our side. Who is rich to boot too! And his family is Disney perfect, sure in politics. (There's also some strong hypocrisy going on: we want a size 16 heroine, but the hero is the usual hunk. Never a normal guy...)
What I do begrudge are the total lack of grammar and the price tag. The book needs an editor ASAP. Lady, style maybe personal, but grammar is not. Commas have quite a value. And editors help check the story too, like avoiding talking of different values (here weeks) in different moments. Or that a title with a different pov has the correct characters on the heading.
The price is totally a rip-off in my absolutely personal and humble opinion. 5$ would be a lot for a novella, even if this book had been trad published. As a self pub with no content editing, no proof-reading, no real story and characterization outside a personal dream, my idea is that the price is really off-chart.
Ok, you got my spiel. As long as you're looking for some sex scenes in a contemporary setting and do not mind paying for it, this is the book for you. It surely leaves you .. interested.
A personal note. As a woman struggling with her weight since...ever.. I didn't found this book empowering (even if cute), on the contrary it's somewhat dangerous in its naivité. The "problem" is not the villains of the world, (they are simply repeating what the "world" thinks), but the people who love you. Who care about your health and image, but aren't always right in their approach. There's also the other facet of the story, where being obese it is really dangerous, it's not an image problem. (Being or sounding real is what makes a character real and not simply shallow.)

46% and giving up..
I have to start off by saying I am in no way a prude. I love a steamy read, but I also need a story with characters that have some depth to them. This book here…nothing but straight porn. The H in this story is a crass alpha asshole and the h feeds into the stereotypical insecure girl who puts up with an asshole. The writing is low grade. The story idea had great potential but it doesn’t seem to me that the author was interested in delivering a good story...just porn.

must say i was surprised at the direction of the book after reading the description. The story did leave me a little lost at times. but overall a good read. Next time include the type of book in the description. I will look for your books in future.

Heavy OTT alpha male, but enjoyed the message in this book a lot more than recent reads of Ms. Silver's. Basically love yourself first, love comes in all shapes and sizes, and real men appreciate inside and out.

Caleb is the fantasy supportive, possessive hero. Mellissa is sweet and vulnerable, growing in strength and assuredness under Caleb’s love. I SUPER appreciated there was no lame conflict causing them to breakup or separate at the 80% mark. The relationship only strengthened while conflict came from outside sources.
All Jordan Silver books require some heavy handed editing, but knowing this, it’s just something I’ve come to look past - this was still a fun OTT story.

Another fabulous read from the amazing Jordan Silver. I love her books and this one was especially awesome. Melissa sees herself as chubby and unattractive. She has been hurt in the past and has decided to just be an observer in life, it is just safer that way. When Caleb spots the curvy Melissa in the bar, he is suddenly laser focused on her. He is going to ask her out and see where this can go. Before they know it, they are in deep but Melissa's insecurities about her weight start to cause problems. Can she see herself through his eyes and learn to love herself so that they can build a beautiful life together? Caleb is uber dominant and it is hot as all get out. He takes drastic measures to get Melissa to see how beautiful she is. This will definitely be another one of Ms Silver's that I reread on a regular basis.

Αυτή τη φορά ήθελα να διαβάσω μια ερωτική ιστορία με ήρωα στρατιωτικό. Το συγκεκριμένο βιβλίο το επέλεξα με βάση τη βαθμολογία του, αλλά και επειδή με τράβηξε η περίληψη.
Το βιβλίο διηγείται την ιστορία της Melissa και του Caleb, δύο ανθρώπων με διαφορετική αφετηρία, διαφορετική ζωή, αλλά κοινή στάσης ζωής και όμορφες ψυχές. Ο Caleb ερωτεύεται την Melissa από την πρώτη στιγμή που την αντικρίζει, ωστόσο εκείνη, όντως εγκλωβισμένη στην εικόνα της plus size κοπέλας, αρνείται να του δώσει οποιαδήποτε ευκαιρία. O Cabeb όμως είναι αποφασισμένος να την κατακτήσει.
Ομολογώ πως το βιβλίο είναι καλογραμμένο, κρατώντας φυσικά το κανονιστικό μοτίβο των ερωτικών ιστοριών με alpha male. Βρήκα ιδιαιτέρως ενδιαφέρουσα την ιστορία και τις ελάχιστες περιγραφές της στρατιωτικής ζωής. Οι ερωτικές σκηνές δεν ήταν ιδιαιτέρως περιγραφικές, σε βαθμό που για το συγκεκριμένο είδος οφείλει να μας προβληματίσει, όμως τα ψυχογραφήματα των ηρώων κλέβουν, κατά την προσωπική μου άποψη, τις εντυπώσεις. Ο τρόπος που βλέπει τον εαυτό της η Melissa, το πως η οπτική της για το σώμα της επιβάλλεται στο δεσμό της με τον Caleb, αλλά και ο χειρισμός που κάνει εκείνος έχουν απίστευτο ενδιαφέρον. Αξίζει τα 4 αστέρια απλώς και μόνο για τη στάση του Caleb.

Okay I went into this book thinking it was going to be some cute and very very steamy erotic romance. That is my fault for thinking this book was something it wasn't. I have just DNFn'd this book at 71%. If I had known this book was about some alpha male control crap that extended past the bedroom then I would have never picked this book up. I am not knocking that kind of relationship because if you are into a man telling you what kind of underwear you can wear and tattooing you up as symbol of branding or wearing collar then to each his own. I am just not into a man telling me there is a "difference between controlling a person to harm and controlling them to protect." Let me preface this, for me, controlling is controlling but I guess if it is mutual and okay with both parties then go for it.
I can not stand or even think that is sexy. I got in a fight with my own husband once when he suggested maybe I should trade out my cookie for banana because we were on a health kick at the time. It is nothing against the story but this book is just not for me. I don't find men who want to own you outside the bedroom sexy. Collars, tattoo as a sign of branding and the what not is just not sexy to me personally. For me, this book was actually cringe worthy for those reasons.

I liked this book in the beginning but as it progressed I realized it definitely wasn't my type of book. I really liked the whole solider falls for BBW story line, and I like books with alpha males who are protective and possessive but not a control thing like this. I didn't realize that this book was a BDSM book and I'm really not into that type of stuff. And the whole marking her thing, like with a dog collar! Honestly that is where this book lost me. I finished if just because I was so close to the end and I wanted to see if I could get my self into it. But it definitely didn't work. The more controlling he got and the more she let him control the less I liked the book. If you are into that type of stuff BDSM, control, marking her as his, ect.... they you would like this book. Its just not my thing so I did not enjoy the book.

Wow, that was a hot read for sure! Caleb (Commander) was definitely a strong Alpha male who was confident in himself and what he wanted - and he wanted Melissa and he wanted her to be sure she never doubted his feelings. Caleb really took his time with Melissa in the beginning, knowing her insecurities with her body - he wanted her to be more sure of herself before they took things to the next level. He was always in tune to her and her feelings, but wouldn't let her get away with putting herself down. I loved how he stood up for her, and how he helped her finally be able to stand up for herself, and be confident in the beautiful woman that she truly was.

This story started out very good! I especially liked Caleb! However, about halfway through, the story became a rather draining. Caleb constantly having to reassure Melissa, along with her insecurities became redundant. I think this story would have been better suited as a short story, around 150 pages, rather than a 360 page novel. Plus some editing wouldn't hurt either. There were far too many typos and grammatical errors which distracted from the story. This story had great potential, but it just didn't live up to it.
