This is a great chic lit book. It is about Fenella and Suki who are both in their 50's. Fenella and Suki help Fenella's daughter Kirsty find love, but in the end it doesn't work out that way. You will have to read the book, to know that finding love for somebody else, might not go as planned, though still have an enjoyable ending. Suki's son Josh is in trouble, though cleans up in the end. Josh might have a child, though you wont know until you read the book to the beginning and to the end. I found this to be a fast paced read. Quite enjoyable and lots of fun.

This is an enjoyable story about two women whose grown children still consume too much time and effort from their mothers. Fenella's daughter Kirsty appears to have an uncanny ability to always pick the wrong man leading to broken relationships. Suki's son Josh has a bit of a drug problem, he may or may not have an infant in England but since he's impossible to track down, well, who knows? So these two single mom's decide to get involved.

After putting Kirsty's picture and profile (their version) on an internet dating site, Fenella and Suki plan to weed through the respondents, meet the most promising of these men and pick the right person for Kirsty. As for Josh, they decide to find out if there is a child, if the child is Josh's and what would then be the next right step. And so they begin.

When there are over 900 replies from the dating site, Suki immediately prunes the list, eliminating those she tells Fenella are undesirables. Then the two set up 'dates' to interview the top picks. With some unusual results. And while they can't seem to track down Josh, they begin long distance inquiries, hoping to shed light on the situation. Will the answers be more difficult to cope with than the original problem?

This is a fun book to read. Following these two middle-aged ladies as they attempt to help their children in unusual ways is great! Sit back with a glass of wine & prepare to be entertained!

I won this book on Goodreads.

Fenella and Suki are two single middle aged mothers. Best friends since the age of two. There children are all grown and have left the home to start their own lives and careers. But Josh Suki's son is a cocaine- addict who has supposedly fathered a baby when he visited the U.K, and Kirsty Fenella's daughter has just been dumped once again and is miserable. Suki and Fenella decide to step in and help their children. They hatch a plan to get Kirsty a new man someone suitable, and to sort out Josh's mess . After trying to interview some suitable men for Kirsty at Waves restaurant and bar, they discover a good man is hard to find. I truly loved this book it's a fun light read. A real page turner i couldn,t wait to see what would happen next. I look forward to reading more books by Cindy Vine

C U @ 8 is a delightful story, told from the point of view of a fifty year old woman {Fenella} which is a refreshing change. It has a lot of humorous occurrences in it and a serious plot. I especially like that Cindy Vine showed each of Fenella's children having completely different personalities.

It's a light summer read that will have you smiling and laughing throughout the book. I especially liked the ending. That's the one part I did see coming, but it feels natural. I picked up early on about how that would go.

Two 50 year old single mothers ... two adult problematic children with too much drama and issues in their adult lives ... two worrisome moms who come to the rescue ...

Fenella Fisher and Suki Rabonowitz have been lifelong BFFs since the age of two. When their two eldest children find their adult lives are in a mess, the worried moms hatch a plan to sort out their children's lives.

Suki's son Josh has been known to be a liar, owes money to several people, is a cocaine addict and possibly had an affair with a woman in Cornwall, UK which resulted in a pregnancy.

Fenella's twenty-eight year old daughter Kirsty is an artist who has a needy streak that requires asking her mother "the relationship guru" for advice about her relationships. Her latest on again / off again boyfriend Grant has dumped Kirsty and left her in a tizzy.

Suki and Fenella hatch a crazy plan to find Kirsty a man on an internet dating site that leads the two ladies on an adventure filled with crazy antics. They also try to solve Josh's problem with the possible birth of his child in the UK.

Can the worried moms fix their wayward kids' lives?

C U @ 8 is an entertaining story about two worried moms whose eldest adult children can't seem to get their lives together. Written in the third person narrative, the reader follows along with the quirky fifty year old single moms Fenella and Suki as they try to fix their kids' lives through some really funny antics. There is a lot of humorous and quirky sides to these two ladies, in a time in their lives when they should be enjoying themselves, their needy adult children fill their days with worry and they feel the need to step in and help them out.

There are a lot of laugh-out-loud moments in this entertaining story with these two characters that will keep you in stitches as you read about their adventures and crazy antics. Fenella is the more serious type of woman, who just wants to get rid of her frequent migraines, travel to exotic spots and live a peaceful life. Suki on the other hand is redefining her life after the death of her ultra conservative orthodox Jewish husband's death. Put these two lifelong BFFs together and you have a duo that are determined to help their kids, and while they're at it they get themselves into some pretty funny situations!

C U @ 8 is a lighthearted entertaining story about the special bond that is a mother's love for their child. If you want a fast paced fun read full of quirky humor and crazy antics, then this is the book for you!

I received this book in a goodreads Giveaway.

I'd recommend this book if you're looking for a light, fun read. It's about two moms having some adventures, living a little too vicariously in their children's lives, but in a daring way sometimes.

It was cute. At first, Suki kind of irritated me, but after a bit, her crazy personality grew on me. If you're a quieter person, like Fenella, having one of those mildly mood swinging friends can be fun.

The characters were the type that you felt you knew (always one of the things that I love about a book, good characters with personalities that helped you visualize them). Even the kids, you only met one, came to life easily.

One of my favourite lines, was probably the end. I like those kind of sex scenes.

The only negative with the book is the C U @ 8 part. Yes, it's the title, but every time it was printed in the book, it was in italics, to emphasize that, see, it matched with the title. It needed to just be the same type as the rest of the book. And the short form of it. I realize that some people do that, but I'm a full word typer, if I was going to be lazy, it wouldn't be in caps. It's a pain to make capitals and go looking for the @ sign on a phone...
