An intriguing extension of a charming series, guaranteed to keep your pipes flowing. There's nothing as satisfying as reading about, e.g., the rise and fall of an entire civilization, all within the space of a dump.
Great book with loads of useful facts. There are long stories that kept me involved and short quick bits mixed in. The book is often in the humor section of the bookstore, but the history and facts are true and fascinating. Very good reference book.
Like all of books in this series - this one is loaded with fun facts and short pieces written about a wide variety of information, history, science, pop culture and general trivia. You always learn something new every time you crack open an Uncle John's Bathroom Reader.
These books never disappoint with tons of trivia. There is definitely something for everyone in this series of books. I would rate most that I have read five stars but this one, although still very good had a little less interesting content than most of the rest of the ones I have read so far.
These delightful books never fail me. They are silly, insightful, funny and brilliant. Personally I prefer the short and medium stories, but that's just me.
I received this books as part of the First Reads Program. As a whole, this book was good for trivia aficionados and those who are just interested in learning new things. I have read other books in this series, so I thought this book would be similar to those books. This book was very easy to read and the facts, tidbits, and fascinating backstories or histories of things. My one issue is having to go from one section of a story to another section many pages down the book. I liked how it was separated into short, medium, long, and extended categories so I could pick what part to read based on what time I had.
Well, what can you say about these readers to distinguish one from another? They're always funny, interesting, and informative collections of facts, anecdotes, and short articles. This one was less focused on a single topic than some other volumes, which is good. Obviously it's not something you'll read straight through, and I'm reluctant to actually leave it in the bathroom, but these always make a nice gag gift, good travel reading, or something to peruse on a lazy Sunday morning with coffee.
*Full disclosure, I won a copy of this in the Goodreads "first reads" giveaway.*
Another in the series of bathroom readers by "Uncle John". I enjoy each of these books and always learn something new. I've already got another one ready to begin. It's a nice way to use your time in the bathroom. Each chapter is short and easily read in a short amount of time. I especially enjoy the little random tidbits of knowledge at the bottom of each page of the book. This wasn't my favorite reader of the series, but it was good and I look forward to the next one.
I recieved this book free through good reads first reads and I am always amazed at the information that you find in these books. Why not try to learn a little something while you go to the bathroom? Who knows it may help you on trivia night!
