“Death comes to all mortals, Cadean. But if I had a mate, I would stand by them against the world. Whatever the cost. Whatever their fate.”

A beautiful and nicely done ending to a series. This is a world I really enjoyed spending time in and characters I wouldn’t have mind to read more books about! Overall, this trilogy is definitely to be recommended if you’re looking for a fantasy/paranormal romance with a slow burn romance. There’s a lot of focus on the story in general, the world building and politics, which was nicely done. I definitely enjoyed reading this series and will be looking up more books by this author duo!

“Death comes to all mortals, Cadean. But if I had a mate, I would stand by them against the world. Whatever the cost. Whatever their fate.”

What a beautiful ending to this dark epic romantasy novel by Veronica Douglas!

I am exhausted! This was a beast of a story – pun totally intended. There is a bit of a slower build-up as we get re-acclimated to the world and story, but about the halfway point the pacing picks up and I could not put it down! Just when you think Cadean and Sam have gone through enough, fate just keeps throwing more and more at them. With so many twists and turns I wasn’t sure what the outcome would be in the end. This is the ultimate redemption love story.

But this novel isn’t just all intense and angsty, there are some pockets of humor as well as touching moments. I love the banter between Sam and Cass (the vampire), and without spoiling anything, I was so excited to see some familiar faces from Sam’s past. It was the perfect break when tension was high.

And let’s not forget the ROMANCE!!! This was the most surprising aspect for me, but I loved it! I was expecting some open-door spicy scenes, but what we get are mostly fade to black and a focus on the emotional connection rather than the physical descriptions. They are no less steamy as the chemistry between Cadean and Sam is palpable.

All in all this was a fantastic read! I highly recommend for anyone who loves a good romantasy featuring fated mates, fantasy romance, lots of banter, found purpose, wolves, gods, and fae.

I don’t usually write reviews, but the world-building in this story is absolutely next level. The plot? Engaging. The storyline? Well-executed. The badassery and character development? Chef’s kiss. It completely sucked me in, and I was glued to it for an entire weekend.

I genuinely feel bad for my boyfriend because I ignored him completely while reading—even when he gave me a Valentine’s gift (I swear I’m not heartless). But honestly? No regrets. This is one of those books I could see myself rereading.

While I usually prefer a bit more spice in my books, the romance here felt so natural for the characters that it just worked perfectly.

Now, lowkey, my favorite character was Sarion. At first, I wasn’t sure he’d play a huge role, and I even kind of disliked him, but the author completely redeemed him. His monologue? Pure gold. I could not stop laughing at his “Fuckkkk, guess I’m following a possibly insane woman who talks to shadows. What have I done?” moments.

Overall, a fantastic series that I’d recommend to anyone. And now, I get to be miserable at work all day because I stayed up all night reading instead of sleeping… but you know what? Still no regrets.

Soooo… yeah. 10/10, would ignore my responsibilities for this book again.

I think what frustrated me most about this series is that it had the potential to be great. There were a lot of, what seemed to be, plot lines and restart eggs laid. In the end they were just random facts that didn't advance the story and weren't really necessary. Knowing that the fae came from another world and we're cursed was never really explored, so it was pointless to bring up. Everyone who first met her called her Princess which was apparently just an insult 🤷🏾‍♀️. We know absolutely nothing about her father. We did learn a lot little about the Wolf Gods issues with the Moon Goddess but it just seemed kind of petty. Not worth locking someone up for thousands of years. The biggest issue seems to be that he keeps banging everybody. And all this book proved was that no matter what's going on, females will find time to fight over a man 🙄. The ending was rushed and too long at the same time. The battle was quick and everything after was drawn out. Even her "reconciliation" with the moon goddess just didn't move me. It's good for starter fantasy nerds, but I guess since I'm used to pulling at threads and re-reading to find hints and hidden meanings, it just fell short.

I really, really hate to see a series end that I enjoy, and such is the case with this one. All the events that have taken place lead up to the conclusion, and it’s quite a conclusion. Poor Sam is torn in a few directions in this, and she must seek help from old friends. I loved how the story line played out, and I am definitely going to miss Cadean and Sam, but I am excited to see what is coming next from these authors. A well-written conclusion to a whirlwind series with great characters, interesting plot, and engaging plot. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Samantha and Cadean's story contines and some of my favorite characters are back! This story picks up after Samantha  used the moon stone to cast a dome of protection around Cadean's land to protect him and his people from  the Fae Queen Ayanna and her life sucking vines.  Cadean, the Dark Wolf God, goes to Sigrum. He pays the ultimate price get his answers about Samantha. He learns her fate is sealed. He wants to save her, but saving her could break her heart, not saving hers will break his. Samantha  is beginning to fade, assassins are attacking, the vines are finding weaknesses in the dome, and the Jackal is cackling. The hands of the fates are at play.

This last book brings a lot of action, suspense, and deadly battles. Samantha and Caden had used a lot of resources, and nothing seemed to have worked as they expected. Confronting the queen while also struggling with their feelings for each other kept them extremely frustrated and in doubt about their future, which seemed very uncertain. But destiny always has the last word. I liked the strength of both and how things turned out in the end. An interesting, entertaining ending, with magic, intense emotions, characters that attract attention, camaraderie, violence, and romance. Voluntarily reviewed this copy that I enjoyed.

WOLF GOD!!!

Cadean is a perfect depiction of what I would expect a dark wolf god to act, look, and be as powerful as he is. Sam is a remarkable woman/wolf/fae and together they are amazing. This is the last book and God I wanted more bc I loved all 3 of these books!! The Moon goddess really made me upset in this book, but at the same time it shows u how resentment can fester in wounds that u never let heal. No spoilers but Veronica's work is off the charts with these books and I have a feeling we will get more of the other characters who I fell in love with. Mel, Auren,Sophia and many more!!!

Forsaken Fate - Bonds of Love

“The Moon gave up part of her power to imprison you. She abandoned it and you and the Dreamlands. That power chose me to bear it and be the protector of this place—a new Moon, as it were.”

Sam finds herself drawn further into the romantic vengeance in Veronica Douglas’ Forsaken Fate, Ruthless Gods: Wolf God book 3.

As the Queen of the Fey continues to seek vengeance against the Dark Wolf God, Sam becomes a pivotal game piece and she is still not sure who she can trust. In this final book in this series, emotions run high, as does the danger. The love that Sam feels may be the only thing that saves her.

Absolutely wonderful ending of this series. Please read them in order. Cadean has been the Wolf God imprisoned by the moon. Sam has had so many roles in her life. This is the greatest role she shall have. There’s action, fantasy characters, wars between realms. Evil rules some realms but Samantha is mortal. It’s a 10 star story. I thoroughly enjoyed the series and especially this book. I look forward to reading future books by Ms Douglas.

I was so excited to read this book when it finally came out. I was also glad to see that this was the last book in this series because it was starting to get a little old. I can only read so much fighting between Sam and her dark God before I get irritated. Now that Samantha is away from the Fae lands she wants to figure out a way to kill the vines that are draining, the dark gods lands without killing the Fae that live there. The ending of this book was interesting, but it was a little bit strange.

The end of a series is always bittersweet

The world building and tenacity of Sam and Cadean is a testament to the author’s gift of writing. The imagination and character building are just two reasons why Sam and Cadean’s story was so rich and full. Their entire relationship was filled with battle and rage but also love and respect. It’s bittersweet for the series to end, but I don’t believe the story could have ended any better than it did.

What a fantastic ending to what has been a totally fabulous series.
I have loved the development of Sam and Cadean's relationship throughout the series. This book brings everything to the perfect conclusion.
I was torn when I finished this book overjoyed at the perfect ending but sad that I have reached the end of the series.
I can't recommend this series enough if you haven't read it why not you are really missing out.

Good ending

I liked this serues. Samantha is a strong female character full of light and Cadean is a god with a dark soul. They balance each other well which isn't a big shock finding out they're fated mates. Together they will bring down the fae queen and free both sides of the Moon's barrier.
I enjoyed it. The series wasn't too slow in building the story with three books being the perfect size.

Series Finale

I truly enjoyed this book and the series. It’s dark, it’s dangerous, and it takes a strong female to save everyone. Samantha takes no ssshhht from anyone and holds her own against anyone who tries to force her will. Veronica Douglas did well with this series. It has you dark and broody shadow daddy, your strong and fearless female, and plenty of drama and enemies. I recommend reading this series.

I will say I am very satisfied with how the series got wrapped up and everything was tied together. No loose ends and that seems to be a hard thing for writers to achieve when writing series. There is nothing worse when you feel unsettled / unsatisfied with the end of the a story.

I enjoyed the different relationship building aspects that noticeably improved in this book and the banter between different characters was wonderful.

Just the right length as well! Not too long or short.

By the time I got to the third book in this series, I was completely over the story. The plot seemed like it should have ended much earlier, but the book seemed to drag on and on. I stubbornly kept listening, hoping that it would get better or end. How many times can one book say "my mate." It is not endearing.

I also didn't have any empathy for any of the characters in the story.

I really struggled my way through this one.

5 stars for all three books in this series.
Cadean and Samantha's story is my favourite so far from Veronica Douglas. It's packed with action and adventure. The world build is fantastic, and the characters are written amazingly well. I would definitely recommend this series. I look forward to seeing what amazing world Veronica creates next.

I couldn’t stop turning page after page until my eyes hurt. This was such a well written cast of characters, scenarios, and scenes. The combination of emotions and thoughts that bring a realistic value for this story was epic! I can hardly wait for new books to come out!!!!!!!

what an ending.
This book picks up right where book 2 ends and oh man.
This book does end in a HEA, which I am so pleased, the FMC and the MMC have grown and
changed so much since the first book. This trilogy is such a good read. I am very pleased to have
discovered this story. The author did an amazing job.

Great read.

This was a stunning conclusion to Sam and Cadean's story. I have loved watching the two of the grow and develop, they became exactly what the other needed them to be while remaining true to themselves.
That ending, Cadean's fight, was just so perfect I was nearly in tears as he finally realised what he should have been doing for her all along!

Great ending!

Tgmhis book is full of action and i really felt for Cadean battling against fate and his worst fears. I genuinely didn't see this ending coming. The scene in the final part of the battle, I may have shed a tear. I loved this final book, thank you for finishing Sam and Cadean's story so beautifully.

What an end!

I want more! I have so many questions, which is a good thing. Sam and Cadaen’s ending did not disappoint. It wrapped up the story line very well, I just wanted to know more because I didn’t want the story to end. Well done and definitely worth the wait!!!

Holy f-word

Were the writers so frustrated by this series they couldn't stop using the f word? (Not fates.) Really took me out of the story. Wanted a bit more of Sam & Caeden working together.
