Axel is in Vermont with an opportunity to employ Dr Martins' "miracle cure" on Amelia to see if it will work properly.
Kevin is in Texas getting ready to launch the Phoenix, planning to intercept and deal with the new Orion, the Transgressor - so named by Evans, Alpha.
June is on board the USS JFK planning an infiltration of her own, into the nest in Greenland. She also seems to be getting a little sweet on Axel?!
Meanwhile, Luke is establishing a connection of his own with Amiyah on board the Phoenix as they head towards their rendezvous with the Transgressor...
The story, now in its seventh episode, continues to be interesting, while the writing remains that of someone for whom English is a second language. Funny thing is that wasn't something I found with either of Shepherd's two previous series. Very strange...

The invasion spreads while our teams continue to chase clues. .
This is book seven the series. It works okay as a standalone, but this is a serial, so best to start at the beginning.
This is a science fiction space opera story with military SF theme. The story is well written but short, written as a serial, so this is just part of a larger story. Our characters and setting are well developed with lots of background details. The plot has a lot of intrigue and action which makes the story go by very fast. While this is just the start of the series, I am already looking forward to seeing what comes next.
Highly recommended.

Absolutely love this series. The characters are well thought out and interesting to follow. Earth is overrun by aliens, and these individuals are doing everything they can to save us all. I certainly hope there is a syndicate somewhere on earth that will take charge like this, should we ever be overrun by evil aliens. I look forward to the continuation. I am thoroughly enthralled by this series.

More and more surprises!
I really enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting.
I liked it for the mosaic aspect of the narrative: the sequence of fragments of actions narrated by one character at a time in the first person.
I liked the description of how the earthlings infected by the alien virus went about their lives impatiently, like the musicians on the Titanic.
I liked others too, but I'll leave them to you to discover.
I am doing this honest review as an ARC-reader.

❤️🤗Very good action-packed sequel!
Axel was looking for a way to get his sister-in-law Amelia to drink the antidote.
In the blink of an eye, Doctor Martin's medicine took effect, much to Axel's relief...
--------------------------
A sequel read quickly in one go, full of action and twists and turns, in which we follow the fight of Axel, Kevin, Luke and June against the invading aliens.
A breathtaking read!
Looking forward to volume 8: The Reckoning!

The Syndicate is trying their best to save Earth but losing people constantly. I have no idea how this is going to end. Every chapter is a surprise and full of action.

As a part of a series this book needs to be read with that in mind. It takes a while to discern what is going on and can be a bit confusing as you start reading. Definitely not a stand alone read.
