New to the world of E.J. Simon, I took a chance with the series debut. A gritty tale with a little technological subplot, Simon proves himself as a viable option for those seeking an entertaining, quick read.
Alex Nicholas is a hard-working, rule-bending kind of guy. While he may not always land on the right side of the law, Alex is never one to rest on his laurels. That said, he’s racked up quite the debt load amongst some of the sketchier characters around NYC. When a young man shoots him at point blank range in a bar, Alex becomes the latest murder statistic. This kid could not have done it alone, but who’s targeted Alex Michael, and why?
Enter younger brother, Michael Nicholas, who is the complete opposite to Alex. Michael is a successful business man who has control of a high-stakes financial operation. He returns for the funeral and is approached by one of Alex’s conquests, confiding in him that there’s a laptop that may reveal a great deal. While Michael is not entirely sure where to look, he’s determined to get to the bottom of his brother’s murder.
While Michael and his wife are soon targeted by this as yet unknown killer, there’s little time to stand down. Michael soon discovers the laptop and is able to liaise with Alex from across the divide. The brothers sift through the evidence and try to make progress. With a host of possible suspects, including three women who once were Mrs. Nicholas, Michael looks to some of the shadier folks who may have tried to erase their debts with a few well-placed bullets.
As the story races along, Michael is targeted again, indicative that time is running out. Not even Alex can protect his brother in this fast-paced thriller that mixes grit with technological know-how. Recommended to those who like stories with a dark underbelly, as well as the reader who needs a quick read with an entertaining plot.
It’s always nice to find a new author whose writing jives with what you seek at the time. E.J. Simon is able to deliver a great debut in this series that appears to have some tech themes woven into the plot. The early introduction of the Alex Nicholas laptop may return, in which case I am eager to see how it will be used effectively.
Michael Nicholas proves to be both entertaining and completely out of his depth when it comes to the dark side of New York loan sharking. He proves not only to be an interesting protagonist, but some of his backstory helps to define him as the story progresses. Determined to help his brother, while differentiating himself from Alex, helps enrich his character and may create an initial bond with the series reader.
A great cast of secondary characters add needed flavour to the story, pushing both some of the stereotypical individuals one would expect from the seedy underbelly, as well as those who help push the story along. The various interactions work well and Simon is able to introduce plot development at various points with those he populates across the pages of the book.
While I would not call this an edge of your seat mystery, there’s a strong entertainment factor throughout the piece. People get roughed up and tempers rise, though one should not expect well-placed clues in a narrative that offers the ‘aha’ in the final chapters, but rather a lingering twist that turns into a cliffhanger. Still, there’s a great pace and E.J. Simon uses the technological angle well to keep the reader wanting a little more. With three more novels in the series (the fourth, an ARC I received that put me onto this collection), I am interested to see how plot and character development are sustained throughout.
Kudos, Mr. Simon, for a great debut. Let’s see what else you have to offer and how Alex might play a role.

There are so many books waiting to be read on my Kindle (or on my to-read list) that I don't pay much attention to the freebies offered through a number of services like BookBub.com, but for some strange reason, this one got my attention back on Feb. 24, 2014. It had enough 5- and 4-star reviews at Amazon.com that I figured the author - once CEO of a General Motors Corp. division - couldn't have that many friends willing to boost the ratings whether or not it was any good. Since the book description was interesting as well, I decided to give it a shot.
For the most part, I'm glad I did. I finished it in a few days with limited time available to read, and by the time I was done, I found it had accumulated 102 reviews at Amazon, 93 of them 4 stars or higher - so I'm pretty sure my 4-star rating is on target.
The book skillfully brings together high technology (in the form of artificial intelligence) and low (people still get killed by strangling, bullets and swimming with fishes), and more than once the late Mario Puzo's Godfather series came to mind. At the start, a Mafia-style guy named Alex Nicholas is murdered, leaving as his next-of-kin a third wife of questionable morals and a financial corporation CEO and straight-arrow brother Michael, who takes on the responsibility of settling Alex's affairs. Things get murky when Michael is contacted by his "deceased" brother via a computer software program as yet unknown by the rest of the world.
Slowly, Michael becomes absorbed in the shady world Alex knew (another nod to The Godfather Part III, as expressed by Michael Corleone: "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.") And slowly, just as did Corleone, Michael Nicholas begins to enjoy the power of running a high-stakes business and the danger that comes with it.
But if Alex is really dead, how is he able to communicate so effectively with his brother? After all, IBM's Watson was able to beat two very intelligent former winning contestants on "Jeopardy!" rather handily, but being able to make meaningful conversation with a human being and have a pretty good handle on what the future holds goes beyond anything that's known to man at this point - as far as anyone knows.
The book ends a bit abruptly and with no real resolution to how Alex has pulled all that off nor an answer to the question of the physical safety of Michael and his beautiful wife, Samantha. That was, no doubt, to ensure that everyone who bought this book will rush to get the next one, Death Logs In. I've seen nothing to indicate when that will be forthcoming, but I do know that if it takes very long I'll have forgotten what this one was all about - one of the pitfalls of those "cliff-hanger" kinds of novels (this one was published in December 2013). In comparison, every Godfather book left me wanting more, but each was an end unto itself. Hopefully, Simon will get his sequel out before I no longer care about what's to come.

This is the artificial intelligence thriller I was waiting for- it's far better than the movies Transcendence or Her. Simon takes a crime story - and then creates an even more thrilling drama around one of the main characters who duplicated himself on his computer - just before he was murdered. The author lightens the story too by including many scenes in real restaurants and locations around the world. A very unique and well-written story. I see it received an excellent review from Kirkus too. Well- deserved.

I downloaded the kindle edition of this book for free, in return for a review.
It was an interesting story, and had some original elements - a successful businessman, Michael is on the phone to his brother, Alex, when his brother is gunned down while having dinner in his favourite restaurant. He tries to help the family out, but ends up getting involved in Alex's illegal business dealings. He also finds a laptop which runs artificial intelligence software, with Alex's personality included - it is like he is communicating with his brother beyond the grave.
He gets involved in trying to find out who murdered Alex & gets into lots of scary and strange situations with a host of characters from his brother's life - including his three wives (two ex). He ends up running his brother's bookmaking business while also CEO of his own company & getting Alex's advice at times (on the laptop) on what he should do next. Needless to say that he finds the murderer and doesn't get into any trouble himself.
This isn't bad as a fun romp/mystery story, but for me, it defied belief. I didn't connect with the characters, and what could have been an interesting diversion to artificial intelligence didn't really come together.

Death Never Sleeps is the first installment from the Michael Nicholas series by E J Simon. In the beginning, a reader is introduced to the rich and powerful bookie from Queens, New York, Alex Nicholas. He is involved in some illegal dealings that leads to his murder. He leaves behind a son, widow, two ex wives, numerous mistresses and a brother, Michael. Unlike his brother, Michael lives his life right with his beautiful wife, Samantha. Somehow, Michael reluctantly gets sucked into the mystery of who murdered Alex. As he starts to investigate what happened that led up to his brother's demise, he discovers a unique laptop belonging to Alex. When he logs into it, Alex appears onscreen. That is when the story gets quite wild and crazy that he would have never ever in his life predicted.
I have mixed feelings about Death Never Sleeps. It is definitely not my normal read. I am not that big of a sci fi fan. But yet the mystery and suspense had kept my attention and kept me intrigued. What in the world could possibly happen next? I just could not help but to keep turning the pages to see. I wanted more, but yet still have that feeling this book is completely weird. The ending left off with such a huge cliffhanger. It can not end like that! So, here I am scrambling to get my hands on the next installment of the series.

A fast paced, action packed thriller with lots of twists and turns. Hooked from the beginning, I couldn’t and didn’t want to get off this roller coaster until the end.
There are funny quips too within Michael’s exchanges with his dead brother Alex and after a lifetime of being so different, they really aren’t .
I thoroughly enjoyed the plot, it’s characters and the use of Artificial Intelligence and found the whole experience Astoundingly Intriguing.

Death Never Sleeps by E.J. Simon is a 2013 publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is an imaginative combination of the traditional crime thriller and a techno thriller. I wasn't really sure how that was going to play out, but I thought it turned out quite well.
Alex and Michael are brothers, but couldn't be any more different. They chose different paths in life, but now Alex has been murdered and after many years away from home, Michael and his wife, Samantha return to Queens to arrange the funeral and deal the aftermath of Alex's death and settle his estate. The situation thrust Michael into his brother's criminal enterprises since Alex owed money and money was owed him. Alex's widow is nervous about her financial future and is pressuring Michael to stick around and get things all cleared up. Alex also had two ex-wives, and a son that Michael had to consider as well. But, one thing is troubling Michael more than anything else and that is Alex's allusion to a secret he was wanting to share with Michael right before his death. Michael gets the shock of a lifetime when is discovers his brother has somehow managed to create an artificial intelligence clone of himself inside his Mac computer- A new take on life after death. This allows Michael to talk with his brother just as though he were still alive. It is safe to say that Michael's workaholic corporate life will never be the same from here on out.
When you read and review as many books as I do, you begin to really appreciate stories that don't stick to the tried and true formula and still manage to tell an interesting, well thought out and tightly plotted novel. The only complaint I had was that the story got a little too busy at times and then it lagged in some places, but not for long.
This one is a little bit quirky and at times the characters reminded me of something out of an old Elmore Leonard novel, only sans the science fiction element. I loved the science fiction part of the story because it gives us something deeper to think about. Alex seems to become smarter and is able to do more things than when Michael first discovered him in the Mac computer, not to mention the ability to predict emotions. If you allow yourself time to let these implications sink in, it can have you thinking some pretty deep thoughts.
Michael's character was also an enigma at times because I was never quite sure how he would handle any given situation. I was often concerned he would be tempted by all the women and the lure of life away from his frustrating job situation. His wife is unflappable for the most part and seems open minded to the possibilities of this new life Michael has found himself immersed in.
Dark wit, greed, family drama, brotherly bonds, schemes, crime, danger and of course a different spin on artificial intelligence, plus the promise of more of the story to come in the future, rounded out this unique novel. This book would probably make a good “book of the month” read on some book club sites. Overall this one is 4 stars.

I loved this first book by E.J. Simon. I am not into science fiction but becoming a techno fiction fan. I have read a non-fiction book recently that makes the jump from fantasy to reality in this book logical. In Death Never Sleeps, E.J. Simon has created a fast moving and intriguing mystery wrapped up in the world of crime and Artificial Intelligence.
Mike Nicholas and his brother Alex are as different as day and night at first. Alex is a Queens’ bookie who has expanded his business into loan sharking. He is on his third marriage and loves fast women and cars and lately is interested in artificial intelligence. His brother, Mike keeps away from him most of the time and is a CEO who is married and has a daughter at Norte Dame.
Then a hired killer bumps off Alex and Mike starts to enter Alex’s world, dipping his toe in the water a little at time by meeting Alex’s friends and associates. He just wants to do right by Alex, he says. He wants to make sure that Alex’s seven million debt is paid off by the deadline given. When I was reading about Mike at this point, I wanted know more about what was going on in Mike’s head. I wasn’t sure if I liked him or his wife. I was a bit frightened by Fat Lester and Skinny Lester but they grew on me until my stock in their characters went way up. The three wives were all high upkeep and sometimes sinister.
The gem of this story is the artificial intelligence angle which actually reveal most of Mike’s character as the story goes on. Moral questions that arise and we get a glimpse in the dark side of corporate world and religion. So you can read this book on several levels at the same time. At first, it seems a simple entertaining mystery but at times, you can enjoy seeing the world in different ways, criminals who can be kind, business men and church leaders who can be evil.
I am very fortunate to have a copy of the sequel, Death Logs In which I will begin reading tonight!

At first, it seems a simple entertaining mystery but at times, you can enjoy seeing the world in different ways, criminals who can be kind, business men and church leaders who can be evil.
I am very fortunate to have a copy of the sequel, Death Logs In which I will begin reading tonight!
I received this book and its sequel as a win from the IRead. I also appreciate the author making sure that the books went out in the mail during the holidays. Yes, E.J. Simon, it was worth the wait.
Although the books were received free of charge that did not influence my thoughts or feelings in my review.

Death Never Sleeps by E.J. Simon is the first book in a suspenseful techno-thriller. Alex Nicholas, a bookie and loan shark, is gunned down while on the phone with his straight-laced, CEO-type brother, Michael. Michael sets out trying to tie up his brother's loose ends, but ends up being sucked into a world that is far removed from his life. He discovers that his brother was trying to be immortal through artificial intelligence programs on a specially made computer.
The story kept me on edge toward the end. I enjoyed the characters of Michael and Alex. I did feel that the book was a bit slow-moving and repetitive at some parts, describing all the vacations Michael is on and the restaurants he is eating at (and what he is eating and drinking) every day. It seemed a bit tedious and I felt the story would have moved along much more smoothly without those things slowing down the action. Overall, there was action and suspense that carried most of the book. I did like the story line and found it quite interesting and looked forward to reading the second book.

Michael and his brother Alex are nothing alike, or so Michael thinks until Alex is shot down in cold blood. His brother's murder is quickly followed by the torture murder of his brother's friend and Michael and his wife being terrorized by a home breakin. All this is just the first sixty-five pages and it gets even better.
Alex's wife wants to know where is Alex's money? Michael wants to know who killed his brother and why was his friend tortured and killed and what does artificial intelligence have to do with Alex and what do the mysterious clues he left mean? But Michael really wants to know what Alex was so eager to show him and who keeps sending him strange emails? And then there is Alex's less than legal business dealings with one very sinister character.
This is a well written, fast paced story of a man who discovers that family and blood ties can go deeper and be more important than anything else. He also discovers a side of himself that he never knew existed.

I was intrigued by the synopsis of this book, and as I read from start to finish I was entertained completely. A super fast paced book, hairpin curves you don’t see coming, plenty of twists, psychological razor sharp edges along with colorful characters proves plenty of excitement, a book you will enjoy.
A mystery containing a major twist, with the AI element cleverly woven into the narrative really adding a dimension of interest fueling the intrigue. I was surprised at how well it worked in tandem with the heavy mystery feature but it did. Characterization was well done, they are memorable, varied creating a full circle with the narrative.
The writing could be a little more relaxed and the plot a tad bit refined, despite these minor issues this is a very clever and original story, I found it quite enjoyable.

Alex and Michael Nicholas were never really close. They both had different career paths, life goals, and even personalities. However, when Alex was murdered, Michael decides to help run Alex's business. Micheal works with his cousin, Fat, and Skinny Lester to help keep Alex's business afloat. Shortly afterward, he runs into a few complications that might cost him his life.
I wasn't sure what to expect when the book was listed as a "technological thriller". I honestly thought it was going to be a killer program running loose. However, jokes aside, the novel had an interesting concept and idea. While the book was interesting, it was a bit slow for me. I found myself impatiently waiting to find out more and what will happen. Overall, a good read but, a bit slow.

The repetition in this book detracted from a fairly interesting plot and mostly entertaining characters. Reading about the main character's every meal, and how many times an alcoholic drink warmed his stomach, was extremely tedious. Also, some characters who were introduced earlier in the book were re-introduced later, and they had been out of the story for so long that it was hard to remember how they fit in to the plot. There is at least one sequel to this book, but I'm not reading it. The writing was fine, especially for a first novel, but I barely finished this book. Had I known it was part of a series, I wouldn't have started with this one.

Alex was enjoying his dinner/drink with Maria. BANG!
Greek Orthodox church. Father Papadopoulos had read the eulogy, hymns, prayers, & readings from the bible also were part of Alex’s funeral.
Lester “Skinny Lester” Fink (55+, Jewish, brains) & Lester “Fat Lester” Fink (55+, Jewish, enforcer, cousin) weren’t exactly there to pay the respects.
Alex owed $700 grand to Sharkey (Mafia Don).
Condolences were given to: Donna Nichols (35, current wife/widow), 2 ex-wives Greta Garbone (46), Pam (54), George Nichols (23, son), Pete Nichols (5, son/grand), Michael Nicholas (Greek, husband/father, Greta/Alex’s son/brother), Samantha Nicholas (wife/mother), & Sofia Nicholas (19, daughter, Notre Dame U).
The viewers filed by the casket & it was closed forever.
St. Michael’s Cemetery. Family & friends’ bid him goodbye.
Donna met with Michael & told him why those 2 thugs had showed up at the funeral.

Michael’s Beamer was dragged out of the Hudson River with a body in it.

An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written family drama book. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters & facts to keep track of. This could also make another great family crime thriller movie, or better yet a mini-TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is an amazingly easy rating of 5 stars.

A promising premise but I think a different title is warranted. Something like, “Italian Restaurants I Have Loved.” Never, outside of the food section of our local paper, have I read so many glowing reviews of old-fashioned red sauce restaurants. I’m surprised Michael, after eating and drinking so lavishly, wasn’t in need of a new wardrobe.
Setting the story in 2009 was an odd choice, not so long ago as to be vintage but not what you would call contemporary. Since much of the story dealt with computers and artificial intelligence, I assume the author’s thinking was to introduce technology that was cutting edge ten years ago. I doubt, however, that most readers would pick up on the subtleties of what was possible ten years ago vs. today.
As I said in the beginning of this review, the plot was intriguing. Two brothers, one a success in corporate business, the other equally successful as a bookie, skirting the law. Once close, the two have drifted apart. Then Alex, the bookie, is murdered and brother Michael steps up to sort out financial issues. Alex’s world is full of ex-wives and mob connections. It is very different from the stresses of Michael’s business but he soon finds himself exhilarated by the people and situations which confront him.
The most remarkable challenge he must face is figuring out whether Alex is actually dead. When he turns up as a perfect replica on a secret computer thanks to A. I. software Alex has commissioned, Michael has to grapple with all the implications such an advance creates.
In the hands of an author more knowledgeable with technology this might have been a real sci fi thriller. E.J. Simon, however comes across as a writer who uses computers in the service of his story, but is not really at home with them. When he makes a big deal about becoming familiar with Apple products in 2009, I could only ask myself, where have you been for 20 years?
Michael was a rather passive character to hang a thriller full of broads, betrayals and murder. Although we are told what a great business mind he has, he spent most of the story reacting to events, rather than calling the shots. The sequel promises that he will go on the offensive, but frankly I doubt I will be back to see him prevail.

Where Michael is a young CEO of a big company, Alex runs a one of the biggest betting syndicates on the east coast. The brothers were obviously distant but blood does run thicker than water. And, however disconnected brothers might feel, they are brothers at the end of the day. Which is why when Alex was killed in a gunning, down in a restaurant at Queens, Michael was brought back from his busy life, back with family and friends for his brother’s funeral. But the things soon took the least expected turn when Michael receives a message, from Alex. How could Alex text from beyond the grave? Is someone trying to impersonate his brother, or is Alex not really dead? And if Alex isn’t dead, who is in the coffin?

He starts receiving emails and phone calls that seem to be coming from Alex. As if that were not enough he is also the victim of several attacks - potential intruders at his home, kidnapping and attempted murder, the theft of his car and its recovery from the Hudson river with a corpse inside...
A fast-moving narrative as Michael juggles his new responsibilities and his 'day job'. The latter requires some globe-trotting and while the US action is confined to the New York area it is clear that future volumes are likely to involve more visits to foreign soil. The settings seem realistic - there is a lot of dining out (mainly in upmarket Italian restaurants!) that fits the image of modern corporate Americans - there is even a joke about the ideal home kitchen being totally empty. The narrative is complex but broken into short chapters so it is an easy to break reading at a convenient point.
This first book comes to a natural pause, with most plot threads essentially resolved. However a lot remains to be revealed about Alex and his new status... I am intrigued enough to want to follow up and read the next two books.

Death is one of the subjects targeted by the advancement of technology and i don't know how to feel about it.

I chose to read this book after receiving a free copy. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.
Alex, a bookie, is gunned down while on the phone with his brother, Michael. Michael is the CEO of a big company and ends up having to take over his brother’s business for a while in order to get things taken care of, such as safety of the family and paying a big debt to a mobster. After a murder of a close friend of Alex’s, it looks like no one is safe and Micheal feels the need to find the murderer.
As if all of that isn’t enough, Michael keeps getting messages from Alex. How is that possible? And other mysterious things take place such as the police being notified that Michael and his wife need help, but the message didn’t come through 911. What is happening?
Death Never Sleeps is an exciting page-turner in which Michael Nicholas finds out that he can do more than he ever knew if he puts his mind to it. Book Review Death Never Sleeps (Michael Nicholas Book 1)
I'm a huge thriller fan so the title and cover grabbed my right away. Death Never Sleeps is the first installment from the Michael Nicholas series by E J Simon. was a fast-paced psychological read that keeps you on your toes with its plot twists. I'm having trouble classifying the genre its definitely a Murder Mystery with a bit of A.I and Suspense. Its a fun mix of corporate greed, murder and crime.
I quickly fell in love with the characters, engaging concept and storyline, with intriguing and complex characters. Fair warning the ending has such a huge cliffhanger, I was excited to have book 2 on hand to pick up right away. Alex, a bookie, is gunned down while on the phone with his brother, Michael. Michael ends up taking over his brother’s business no one is safe and Micheal feels the need to find the murderer. The characters are all well-developed and the plot unpredictable.

Death Never Sleeps by E.J. Simon is a horrible book. The premise is sort of interesting, it’s supposed to be a crime thriller with murder and intrigue, but in reality, it’s not. It honestly starts out sort of interesting, the writing even seems pretty good at first. As it goes on, it just keeps getting worse, until it eventually devolves into a virtual strip club. There are parts of this book that focus on how the main character, Michael, recognizes a plastic surgeon’s work on four different women because he apparently does the exact same breasts on every woman he works on. I have no idea how that’s relevant to a man being trapped inside his own computer. Honestly, I hated this book. I did not want to finish it. But I felt like I had an obligation to leave an honest review based on actually reading it. So if you’re looking for a thinly veiled porn novel, then I would recommend this book. Otherwise, skip it.

Tipping his hat to Mario Puzo, E.J Simon has named his protagonist, Michael. Like Michael Corelone, his is man who is both attracted and repelled by the world of crime. His brother, Alex Nichols, has/had no qualms. He was a trickster, a well known book maker and loan shark. His death came quickly, at the receiving end of some quickly fired bullets. Or did it?
Simon has introduced the idea of an AI that also contains the personality and memories of an individual. In short, immortality might be possible. The near living Alex does create problems for Michael. How much of his life is his own, and how much is now under Alex's control.
This fast passed novel, set in the world of corporate greed which parallels punishable greed takes the reader on a chase for the true meaning of life. Are we in charge, or is something bigger pulling the strings. Book One in this trilogy demands more of Michael and Alex's adventures.

Do you believe in artificial intelligence? People that really knew Alex knew he a good side even though he was a bookie and loan shark. Then he was gunned down.
Michael is a CEO of the company. He loved his brother, Alex but decided to stay away since Alex dealt in illegal business dealings.
When Michael was left to deal with Alex's affairs, he was intrigued which also put him in danger.
Upon discovering Alex's laptop Michael thought he might find some information as to whom would want Alex dead. Michael was surprised to find Alex on the laptop. Artificial intelligence.

I was pretty excited to read this book. It seemed like an original plot with interesting characters. Even half way through, I was still pretty vested. Then it went downhill.
In the end, I found the writing to be simplistic and mundane. The who dunnit was obvious except to the main character. The characters were often cliché, especially the women, with mannerisms and descriptions. Their lifestyles were not something that readers could relate to.
I did enjoy the bits of information about restaurants in New York City and elsewhere. That was a nice touch. The plot was fairly interesting, just not handled well by the author.
Beware that there is a sequel...

Mob story meets AI
I haven’t read a mob story for a long time and this had an interesting twist where one brother is killed but has been uploaded to a computer. It takes place at the beginning of the 2010s which helps ensure there’s less chance of tech conflict. Because it’s a mob story the main action characters are men; there’s violence but killing isn’t dwelt upon; it’s there to move the story along. The story takes place over a period of months and to keep it moving along the dates are part of the chapter.
There is a sequel and I’m kind of curious how Alex, the AI, develops.

I enjoyed the book but wasn’t so involved that I couldn’t stop reading. Overall the story played out differently than I expected which I always like in a book. I was surprised to see there is a sequel to this book. It’s probably not something I’ll start right away but will keep on my shelf. This story looks into the different lifestyles of two different brothers. I found myself reflecting on my own life compared to my sisters and they are also vastly different.

This promises to be an interesting series. Alex has cloned a virtual double that can communicate with his brother Michael. Unfortunately another person has also done that.
There is a rich cast of characters introduced in this first book, and normally I would not care for too many people to keep track of. But it is necessary in this case as the interaction between characters needs explaining.
I am ready for book 2.

Death Never Sleeps is a suspenseful mystery science fiction read that is sure to draw you in from the first page. This captivating story keeps you guessing until the very end. The characters are well-developed with intriguing back stories that make for a memorable read. Death Never Sleeps is the prefect beginning to the Michael Nicholas series. I recommend this to anyone who loves science fiction thrillers.
