I have loved this book. I didn't know how a new omega could have fit in the pack dynamic but it turned out great and the author explored every negative and positive feeling a possessive omega like Jade might experience when her territory is being invaded.

Also the fact that Jade - that we know hadn't planned to submit to the alphas who claimed her and then fell in love with them - has never planned and never will to succumb to a random designation is well explained and backed up by her defying August with not showing her throat. She's become incredibly badass and so confident compared to book 1. And this is not just because of her character, but the love of her alphas and beta that has pushed her into being her own persona and come out in charge of the pack, basically 🤣

Vaegon's story, I had never thought he could have been fae, especially because he's glamoured. The way he reacts to the news and his subsequent actions towards Paren and the knowledge of his power is just so Vaegon. Like, he's strong and accepts everything because he can take it. Something else I have loved about Vaegon is that he blindly trusts his mates. He never once discussed what Jade was thinking or doing ensuring Paren's safety. He accepted it because he trusted his mate and that's the best declaration of love any partners would love to have and feel. Also, the way he acts towards Brody, always trusting him and making him feel he's a great person and again, his designation doesn't make less of him, just because he's less strong or less big than Alphas.

Anders is the twisted superman we didn't know we needed and thank god he exists. I have no words to talk about him, he's just fantastic. The two sides of him, the quiet one and the wicked kinky one somehow both apply perfectly to both his mates. The kinky one is for Jade of course 🤣

Surprisingly I think Lucas might be a favourite of mine. His character has developed so much since book 1 when he just took without asking. Being around Jade and Brody, helped him to come out for what he really is, an Alpha providing for his family. The change in the way Omegas are seen, coming from him, is such a huge development. I get that we don't get to see much of him, with him being prime and the story being focused on something else. But the times we have seen him are impactful.

Don't get me started on the pack meeting when they 'asked' August to change the omegas situation in the pack. I was going to be disappointed if he wasn't going to change anything. And it got me when Brody realised that August had wanted the change all along and just needed an excuse for the rest of the pack to understand the reasons behind the change.

Also, I hope Ivan dies a brutal death. And much much love to Frederick and can't wait to read about his future with the pack.

Another fantastic RH paranormal romance, and great sequel to Speechless.
I love seeing all the characters POV and the switch ups in emotions and growth they've all experienced.
The arrival of new character Paren helps show more of Jade's strength and compassion, and how the pack functions as a family.
Action, drama, romance, and lots of spice!
Make sure you've read Speechless first!

A wonderful surprise

I didn't expect to love this series so much. The first part of book one is difficult. Very difficult. But the characters' redemption and continued work on themselves is outstanding. These characters have real feelings and are morally gray, just like the rest of us. The compassion and heroism in each of them is wonderful. I can't wait for the prequel!

Rachel Grey has once again woven her magic, exceeding my already high expectations and leaving this reader thoroughly satisfied.

In the continuation of the series, we find ourselves embroiled in a world of mystery and intrigue. The enigmatic Vaegeon, with hints of Fae heritage, continues to captivate, leaving us guessing at his true origins. The plot thickens as attacks plague Jade's community, shrouded in perplexing motives that keep the pages turning. And just when you think you've grasped the threads of the narrative, Paren emerges from the depths of space, adding another layer of complexity to the tale. Are these events connected? Prepare to be pleasantly surprised by the twists and turns that lie ahead.

What truly sets this book apart is the rich tapestry of character development. Vaegeon, Lucas, and Anders grapple with their past actions, striving to right the wrongs of tradition and protect their own. Jade, our fearless protagonist, emerges stronger than ever, defying norms and facing challenges head-on. Grey's skillful portrayal of their growth allows readers to embark on a journey of empathy, mirroring the characters' evolution with each turn of the page.

And let's not forget the spice! Grey delivers on all fronts, ensuring that the story remains as exhilarating as it is engaging. From heart-pounding action to tender moments of connection, this book has it all.

The first book in this series gave me conflicting feeling. The second book multiplied those feelings by 100. Despite the trauma the fmc went through in the first book I still decided to read the second.

My biggest issue with this sequel was the Paren becoming a part of this pack. I’m an avid omegaverse reader so I’m no stranger to packs having multiple omegas or there being a little FF in fact we need more FF in omegaverses with that being said, these omegas didn’t have a romantic connection between them! So the fact that was not in this book threw me for a loop!

In my opinion Paren being claimed by an alpha who already has a scent match and does not have any romantic feelings for her felt so wrong. It’s like was nothing learned in the first book? Another claiming happening out of some delusional sense that it’s the only thing that is going to keep this omega safe? Nothing about Paren being claimed felt organic and it felt very much forced between the characters. Not only did Jade have to fight her instincts for most of the book in the end when she decided to accept Paren being claimed by one of her mates it felt as if she decided “if I don’t let them claim her then I’m a terrible person because she will suffer.” So what’s to happen when another half Fae shows up who also needs to have their bloodlust soothed, is Anders meant to claim them as well or was this a special case because Paren just so happened to be an omega? There was too much negativity towards the idea of another omega from Jade, Anders and Brody to make me believe this was the right decision.

My other issue is that the conflict with the clan and the enemy wolves did not have enough scenes. It felt as if most of these things were sprinkled into the book just to remind the reader things were happening in the background. And the conflict with the clan changing their ways felt like it was resolved way too quickly.

Anyway finally thoughts, this book didn’t make me happy at the end but that’s just a personal preference of what my idea of a happy ending could have been.

Orphaned picks up a few months after Speechless ends. The pack finds itself mixed up in a fight with a group of foreign wolves that attacked their ally’s pack. The mystery of these wolves carries on throughout the story, and I was shocked to find out who they actually were!
Lucas has grown greatly since Book 1, putting Jade first and doing all he can to make up for his past actions. He becomes a true mate and hero in Book 2, and I enjoyed seeing him as one of the good guys.
Jade struggles to find her place in helping the pack, but is distracted when she finds a visitor from the fae realm who could give answers about Vaegon’s past. The visitor, Paren, is lost and afraid, and completely vulnerable. It isn’t surprising when Jade takes her in to protect and help her. But Jade finds it difficult to allow Paren around her mates, especially one mate in particular.
The novel takes us through every emotion of Jade’s acceptance of Paren. With each hurdle Jade has to rise above, her heartache and victory are raw and so real. Jade’s compassion and refusal to be controlled by her instincts keep her heart in the right place, even when others think she is making the wrong decisions.
We see Vaegon transform into something magical and powerful. More powerful than any Prime could hope to be. Vaegon’s acceptance of the buried sides of himself takes the angry bad boy to another level, and it was shocking!
I was intrigued when I noticed the book was dedicated to Anders, but as I read, it became clear why. In Book 1, Brody was Jade’s hero in every way. But Anders also looked out for her, despite messing up initially. We see Anders’s compassion for Paren from the first moment he meets her, but he stays quiet and lets Jade lead. As the story unfolds, he helps Paren “for Jade” when Jade asks him to, but we clearly see his compassion there for Paren’s struggle.
Later, when Jade asks Anders to do something shocking and difficult, Anders hesitates, but he ends up doing it, and he says he’s doing it for Jade AND Paren. Jade never pressured him, she only gave him her blessing to do what they both knew was the right thing to do. And boy was it the right thing. Paren ends up giving Jade and her family a blessing that no one could have imagined possible, showing that, sometimes, sacrifice and putting others first is rewarded.
I was so happy that the traditions of the pack were challenged and addressed, and I really enjoyed the confrontation with the Prime and the pack, as well as the decisions which came from it.
A lot happens in Orphaned! And I enjoyed every twist and turning point. The acceptance Vaegon and Anders show at the end for how much they still don’t know about themselves shows how much they have grown over the course of the novel. It leaves the story at a happy ending. But knowing that Anders’s calming gift and Vaegon’s past will be addressed and fully revealed in the prequel makes me excited to see those final pieces.
Orphaned is a bit longer than Speechless, but I believe every single word was necessary. Highly recommend continuing Jade’s journey with Book 2!

Part of the Unnatural series hang on once you start it be prepared to go on an adventure picking up where book one left off. Jade accepts her mates they have fallen in love with one another but they each still have issues that need dealing with before their relationship can go to the next level and complete healing can happen. She has finally grown into her skin so to speak with the confidence of her alpha’s she has learned that she is a bad a** with so much confidence. Her mates on the other hand are learning to love each other as well as their girl all while trying to fix their issues. Veagon is trying to accept being part fae accepting his powers all while trying to come to terms with it . Anders is our guy with all the strength in the world or so they think he is our kink king for his girl as well as his two other mates he listens and act when needed. But Lucas is our mate that has changed the most in every way he has learned to ask not just take compliments of Jade his mate and Brody. All he wants to do is provide for his family by also helping alphas to see omega in a different light but are they headed to healing or discovery of more issues that need to be addressed, will our girl get any type of answers about her childhood it was horrible, and can her alpha prove her with the happiness she has longed for?

Love Is Infinite!
I really loved Speechless and Orphaned is just a good! Complex and wonderful! Through the chapters with POV of the different characters the emotional and psychological development of each person gets under my skin. Their feelings of guilt about what happened before and how Jade was able to forgive and change them is sublime. It made me smile and wipe away a tear. In Speechless we found that Jade is not ruled by her (Omega) instinct and that goes in this book too. Her mates are all very different and each complement the others. What a wonderful family, I’m jealous! And inspired. These are books that are worth to read twice (or more ;) ). Highly, highly recommended.

Continuing on from Speechless, Jade and her pack are finding a tough road ahead of them.

There is a lot happening in this book and all of it is relevant to the story, you won't be skipping any pages, believe me.

What I particularly love about Orphaned (and Speechless) is the grasp the author has over her characters emotions and I find myself feeling alongside them.

I know this review doesn't give away anything about the story, but that's just because I don't think I could do it enough justice. Read the book and experience it for yourself!

hated the turn in the book

Turned into sister wives and I didn’t like it at all. Started off ok but as soon as Jade started welcoming Paren into the pack I started not to like it. It’s just my feels on it, the writing was good, I just didn’t like where the plot went.

"Orphaned" seamlessly continues the gripping narrative set forth in "Speechless," picking up a few months after the events of its predecessor. The pack finds themselves embroiled in a tumultuous conflict with a group of foreign wolves who have attacked their ally’s pack, setting the stage for a riveting tale of mystery and intrigue.

As the story unfolds, the mystery surrounding these enigmatic wolves deepens, culminating in a shocking revelation that left me reeling. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat, eagerly turning the pages to uncover the truth behind their identities.

While the beginning of the book presents challenges for the characters, their journey of redemption and self-discovery is nothing short of remarkable. Each member of the pack grapples with their own inner demons, navigating the complexities of morality and humanity with depth and authenticity.

What truly sets this series apart is its portrayal of characters who are flawed, complex, and deeply relatable. Their compassion, heroism, and growth throughout the story are a testament to the author's skill in crafting multi-dimensional protagonists.

I particularly appreciated the unique concept of blending fae and shifters, and the intricate dynamics of the pack as they form a tight-knit family. However, I was taken aback by the unexpected conclusion that left me both satisfied and eager for more.

The distinct voices and personalities of each character further enriched the reading experience, drawing me deeper into their world. However, I found myself hesitant about the introduction of another female into the harem dynamic, as it isn't personally to my taste.

Overall, "Orphaned" delivers a compelling conclusion to the series, filled with suspense, action, and heartfelt moments. While not every plot development may resonate with every reader, the strength of the characters and the intricacy of their relationships make this a truly captivating read.

Continuation of Speechless, I really enjoyed this book, it has depth and despite the fantasy aspect of the fictional story, it also has important life lessons (if you choose to think of them that way).

Jade and her Alpha's continue to grow together, with their dynamic changing over time, they are facing challenging and changing times, there are new threats, answers to old questions, a new addition, more steamy times and surprises that I didn't see coming.

I am really looking forward the prequel outlined at the end of the book.

Exciting and fun

This story was so different than what I was expecting, but in a very good way. Rachel Grey has taken a different track in her writing and it is very exciting and fun. Rachel is an extremely talented writer with a wonderful imagination. I would hope that there would be a few more books in this series to expand on the characters lives and the adventures that could be. I look forward to reading more of Rachel Grey’s stories.

I loved book one and book two. There was a bit of stuff that really bothered me with the Paren/Anders/Jade situation. But just on me it was beautifully written. By the end when the picnic happens I was back to Loving it all.

Very sexy, funny, and man I cried a lot. My 3rd book in by Rachel, let me tell you I'm hooked.

Tropes
🐺omegaverse (w/ shifters)
🧚🏼‍♀️pnr (wolves and fae)
🐺why choose
🧚🏼‍♀️fated mates

I would like to preface this review by saying that I read A LOT of omegaverse books, and there are certain tropes and plots within omegaverse that I do not touch--so my opinions on particular trope(s) that appeared in this book that may not be to my liking may not be true for other readers.

After finding her voice in Speechless, we return to Jade and her pack in Orphaned. In her search to help Vaegon understand the fae-side of his history, they travel back to her old home, coming across a lost shifter, Paren. Having been dropped into the "human" realm, Paren is lost and doesn't understand the weirdness that Jade is as an omega, as an omega herself. As time goes on, Paren and Jade's relationship continues to grow. With an unknown enemy attacking from all sides, paired with this new omega, jade and her pack will either need to continue to push the boundaries of the ancient traditions held in place, or suffer the consequences.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I thought Speechless was a standalone, so I was really excited to see another book in this universe with these characters. This pack has come so far from where we started in Speechless, and I love to see them pushing the boundaries of the current pack traditions. The writing flowed well and I think the book was paced well.

The Good:
- The strongheartedness of Jade to continue to advocate for Omega rights to help show the pack that Omegas are not something that can just be given to someone just because they are a certain number of rank in the pack
- Her love for her packmates, both bonded and not, to do as much as she can to support them through difficult times and accept who they are despite the circumstances
- Multi-POV, including Paren's!

The Not as Good:
- This is re my OV comment earlier
- I wish that the "conflict" with the opposing packs was more fleshed out, and with Vaegon's whole newfound abilities, I wish they were further explored a little bit to really see the extent of the powers. Seeing Paren and Vaegon's powers from their fae sides was really cool and I wish that we saw more of that in the book. Also, we never really get clear knowledge about what special powers Anders has to calm the bloodlust. Sure you (book characters) don't care as long as it helps, but I CARE #rude

Thanks to Rachel Grey and BookSirens for the eARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion

ORPHANED is the second book in the Unnatural series and if you enjoyed the first, you're gonna LOVE this one!

Jade and her men are back. She is still trying to find out how to help the Pack, while her men are just thankful she is there. She is bringing change to the Pack, although not everyone likes it.

So what would happen if a new Omega turned up; one that Jade could help? Would she? Or would she be too possessive of her men, with her own Omega instincts on high alert? Come on, people! This is Jade!!! Of course she helps, and you get to see all of it.

This book is outstanding! It's as simple as that. I love every one of these characters and love seeing their growth and development. Jade is so confident in some ways, and yet still insecure in others. I love that she's not perfect, but perfect for her mates.

Anders is such a great character and I loved seeing him be brought forward a little. The love he showed to Jade made my eyes fill on more than one occasion. Brody deserves everything he gets in here. I was hoping and wishing, but didn't dare believe that what I hoped for might come true! Lucas became everything I wanted him to be and I can't wait to read more. And Vaegon. What can I say about him? He is one of the 'hardest' alphas out there and yet follows Jade without doubt because he has that much trust in her.

There is one comment made near the end that tickled me. I won't share it as it could maybe spoil something - but it's said by Jade, to Lucas, and is about family being close - in some cases, too close. This made me laugh out loud and I loved it.

An outstanding book 2 and I can't wait to see what happens next. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.

This book continues with the characters and wolf shifter culture of Speechless. Jade is definitely no longer speechless. Her place with her mates is the glue holding everything together. The love and strength of the bonds creates a whole, a unified family with Jade at the center. When another unmated Omega is discovered near Jade’s old house, her protective Omega instincts kick in to keep the newcomer away from her mates, but Jade is able to keep them under control to help Paren, the newcomer. Paren is able to recognize that she is like Vaegon, sharing those barely controllable episodes, and Anders is the calming influence for her, too. As the pack fights an enemy group of Alpha wolves, Jade and her mates also fight to protect the new Omega and hopefully keep her from the same fate Jade had experienced with being claimed against her will. As more is learned about and from Paren, Vaegon and the family learn more about where Vaegon came from and his powers. In addition, they come to realize that there is no limit on love and what can be achieved by accepting that premise.

This book offers more insights into Vaegon, and also Anders, and how they are connected, with more answers to come in a future series. The rights of Omegas within the pack comes into play as Paren’s future is determined, as well as that of Jade’s family.

A satisfactory conclusion to Jade’s story, her place within her polyamorous family, the bonds shared, the magic gifted to fulfill a dream of Jade’s, and a promising future for the pack. Looking forward to the prequel for the companion series to reveal more.

When I saw this book pop up I couldn't wait to get back into this amazing world that I fell in love with in Speechless.

It was fun to be amongst this group of characters again. After a rocky start in Speechless they flourished into an amazing pack and one i very much enjoyed.

To see them more settled and more in love than before was so exciting and lovely to read.

After reading a lot of omega verse books, there have only been a few where there is a secondary omega and they worked. I don't know why Parin didn't for me. To me it felt forced in a way and I have mixed feelings about Anders and what Jade asked of him.

It was great for Vaegon to find out more of his history so that was fun. Him and Brody still take my breath away again, with and without Jade.

Anders is still the sweetheart of the group however I think Lucas really stepped up in this book. Their love and devotion to Jade and their pack was so lovely to read.

The author did a great job to put across for the reader to thoroughly believe and taken in each others relationship and as a whole pack.

Overall, this book was an easy read. It was very in depth and I seriously love the multi POV's. I don't think you can have a book like this without having everyone's POV.

“It’s a sound you can feel. One that gets inside your head and changes you.”

“Orphaned,” by Rachel Grey

When looking for closure on her mate’s difficult past leads them to her old farm leads to finding someone who accidentally goes to their world while on the run. Jade and her pact decide to help the young Fae girl, to keep her safe, even though her very presence threatens Jade’s Omega instincts. The pack is also dealing with invasions from other shifters into their territory and it changes the dynamics of the entire shifter community.

I loved this series so much. I liked the spicy reverse harem omegaverse tropes. Jade is my favorite character; she is so dynamic, and I loved reading in her POV’s. I didn’t like this book as much as the first one because there was a lot more fighting and stuff rather than the romance, which I loved about the first one, but it still was a really good book. 4 out of 5 stars.

-Reverse Harem
-Omegaverse
-Multi POV
-Shifter
-Fae
-Magic

Thank you for the ARC, Booksirens.

I'm telling you that if you love wolf stories and need something new, you need to check out this writer. Because Rachel has such a knack for giving you some different stories and yet, so enjoyable too!

Let’s talk about Paren. I was not sure what to think, but I loved her. I loved her shy but strong nature. I loved her love and devotion to not just Jade, but all the family. And I loved how all the males we're there to love and support her and Jade. Because let’s face it. Females intruding on one female's spot is never a good thing. But it just reinforces how strong a heart can be over a mind when one has a strong enough purpose to fight. And just watching the bond strengthen and evolve....epic!

My only regret....that it took so long to read it when I've been sitting on it. Yes, its just that good!

I absolutely loved the first book featuring Jade and her mates so I was excited to read the sequel. The direction really caught me off guard and not in a good way. I think the author made a mistake adding another female to the pack, but maybe it’s just me?

Picking up a few months after the first book left off, we dive right back into the thick of things with the pack. Jade and her guys find themselves entangled in a fierce skirmish with some mysterious foreign wolves who've attacked their ally's pack. I loved that the guys are still atoning for their action in book one and prioritizing Jade. But hated everything else.

The addition of Paren didn’t work for me. The scenes where Jade’s mates help her through her heat were cringe. It really didn’t make any sense to me. Very disappointed.

The story of Jade and her 4 mates continues in this wonderful continuation of "Speechless". Make sure you read that before this so that you can understand what is going on. There is so much to love! I think that Rachel Grey is a wonderful author, and I will be sure to read anything she has written.

There are so many emotions in the story: violence, sadness, love, and sex (includes MM and group sex), and I found myself actually tearing up reading about Jade and her life. The emotions that the author so skillfully includes in the story is what drew me into the lives of these characters and really care about them.

I highly recommend this book and this author for readers who like RH, shifter and fae stories. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did!

Like the first book, this one started slowly for me. However, persevere because it is definitely worth your time. I very much enjoyed all the side trails we follow, only to arrive at a place we didn't expect. There is a new character, Paren, who has come from Faerie. Jade is threatened by her at first, but as always, Jade's immense will takes over, and eventually, Paren becomes part of their family. I liked that we got to read about Lucas's growth in accepting that his actions were wrong and correcting his relationship with Jade. His growth helps the larger pack to make changes that will help all omegas.

This is a wonderful saga that I'm looking forward to continuing in the future. I received an advance copy, and this is my honest review.

I really liked the continuation of Speechless! Jade, Vaegon, and Brody find a new omega when they go back to her old farmhouse. Paren is half fae and shifter and came through a portal hiding from the fae in Faerie. They find out that she is from the same world Vaegon is from and she has the same bloodlust that Vaegon has as well and just like him, Anders help smooths it. Jade's omega accepts Paren and she allows Anders to mate with Paren, to keep her from mating with evil alphas and for the bloodlust. I liked that Jade's omega allowed her to accept Paren. This was the first time that I read a book with 2 female omegas in a pack and it was a good read! I can't wait to read the next book.

This story definitely went in a different direction than I thought it would!

I thought the addition of Paren was quite lovely, so far I haven't read an OV with 2 female omegas so it was nicely different.. Her and Jade's dynamic was really cute at times, and it proved again how strong Jade can be to overcome her natural instincts. I did feel that the claiming with Anders was kind of unnecessarily forced though.

I am glad Vaegon is finally getting some answers about who and what he is. His powers were super interesting, as well as Jades powers.

I do wish there had been more scenes, explaination..etc to the battle that occured.

Best part was at the end though, how much they fought for Omegas to have a choice. Loved that.

I thought I'd give this series another chance. The first book was a hard read. The FMC is raped by her mates who think they're doing her a favor. After getting through that part of the story again, it was a good read. But it was a bit unfulfilling how she accepted them so quickly.

Flashforward to a surprising second book of the series. I enjoyed the most part of the book as the mates get to know each other more, the FMC trying to fit into the culture. The we get to the part I despised. Her mates help another omega through her heat. And she's there encouraging them. That right there turned me off of this series again. But that really was the nail in the coffin. I regret reading this.

This is the continuation from the book speechless. I didn't think it could get any better than the first book but it absolutely did. I so love Jade, Vaegon, Anders, Brody and Lucas. In that order. But now Paren and Frederick has been added to it. I really didn't think that Jade's Pat could get any better than what they already were but to my amazement they did. I really hope this isn't the end of their story. I know there's going to be a prequel but I want more of her pack. I would like to see babies in the future.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
